Placemakr Downtown Pittsburgh at The Pennsylvanian

Placemakr has some things going for it, but the terrible customer service overshadowed our stay. We were in Pittsburgh for a Steelers game; the downtown location was convenient, with an easy T ride to the stadium. Our 1-bedroom unit was spacious and clean; the kitchen was a plus. However, the sofa bed was extremely uncomfortable. We arrived to find a clogged shower and empty body wash dispenser. To their credit, both were addressed that 1st evening. Unfortunately, service went downhill from there. Despite signs encouraging guests to call or text for assistance, reaching anyone was nearly impossible. A text went unanswered for over 24 hours, followed by a generic reply that didn't address my request. My follow-up was ignored. Phone calls went unanswered, and the voicemail box was full. It took seven calls just to request an extra blanket. Some front desk employees were rude and dismissive. When we reported that our kitchen sink only dispensed hot water, one employee reluctantly took down the issue, then argued that he'd passed along the message and wasn't responsible for what happened next. The issue was never fixed, forcing us to buy bottled water throughout our stay. Emailing customer service was equally useless. The one exception was Stephen, who helped arrange a partial refund, although we haven't received it yet. The property has potential, but the lack of responsiveness and dismissive staff made for a frustrating stay. Don't expect much help if anything goes wrong

Good but parking can be a pain.

Antes de entrar te dicen que necesitas un numero para entrar a recepción por la entrada principal y como vamos a saber el numero si necesitan estar registrados para q te den el numero. Internet no funcionaba ni televisión primer dia. Los demás dias fueron más amables. La bañera no corría el agua para nada. No tienen plancha para la ropa y si un aparato de vapor pero como vas a planchar la ropa si no hay enchufe cerca de donde se cuelga la ropa. Las ventanas no se cerraban del todo y el aire frio entraba y sin ventanas grandisimas. No buena estancia y necesitan terminar las reformas que quieran hacer.

Staff was welcoming, efficient, and helpful. Checked-in time was as expected. Would definitely consider staying there again while visiting Pittsburgh.

It was a very lovely room with even a washer/dryer, safe, full kitchen and a lovely area to relax. This is an older historic structure but very nicely updated rooms. Parking was a bit of a mess. It would be good if they could’ve explained more clearly about parking options and cost. We will stay again!
