Night out in Chester with clients. Very strange that hotel bar was not open in the evening.

Good location, nice hotel: Car park is not the biggest, I think it is £20 as well ;-( across the road there is the "Castle Car" park which is free if you fancy that.

Really smart hotel with the great added benefit of parking and a small gym. Gym was mostly cardio machines, 1 bench and dumbbells. Bed comfy and everywhere was clean and tidy. Badly placed full length mirror, but other than that 10 out 10 and we will be back!

Location is perfect and a nice walk into the main shopping area. Lots of local restaurants and bars and very close the the race course if you are visiting for the races. Hotel its self is very good and the gym is perfect for what I needed it for on the move.

There was no room service available and restaurant were closed!

Everything was excellent, except £20 for overnight parking, which is excessive and £2.50 per carton of water in the room - most hotels of this quality provide it free of charge.

Excellent hotel room comfy bed and the gym was small but had everything you’d need. Better description of car park would make life easier as no onsite parking . Did not rate the restaurant no draft beers and poor service in the morning with one person taking orders.

Check in was good staff friendly,fire alarm was going off when we arrived so had to walk up.to the 3rd floor at our age wasnt good but out of the control of the staff,could here other guests running up and down the corridor, so room aren't as sound proof as could be,the sports bar cashed up the till at 10:45 so no cash or card purchases think thats a bit early especially on a Saturday night,had breakfast on the 5th floor brasserie was ok it was included in our stay,but if i had to pay i wouldn't be happy for £12 for an english breakfast with no toast and half cooked bacon very expensive.

Poor cleanliness within the room - some area very dusty, rips/burns in bedding and room needs some TLC (bit worn). Breakfast took over an hour - disorganised, underwhelming and not informed of delays. Raised a complaint with the issues - no response from anyone - followed up by phone - still no response. Offered a refund and not granted what was offered! Should be a standard part of customer service to acknowledge and reply Can stay in better hotels for less vs £200 we were charged!

The romm was clean and tidy on first appearance however curtains and lampshades we're very marked also found a number of hairs on the bed sheets. Tv only had a few working channels and wifi was not great

The room could have been alot cleaner,very dirty under the bed. The shampoo/soaps containers not filled up and the mattress was very uncomfortable and worn

We’ve been staying at the Abode everytime we visit the UK for over 20 years but this will be the last time. Room was dirty, black mold in shower and the overall appearance was tired and shabby looking. As for the opt-out option for no housekeeping, we requested every other day, but our room was not serviced for 3 days! We stayed in the Ormonde room and expected better.

Room 301 is looking tired and the bathroom had mould/rust at the base of the shower tray. Carpet is showing signs of age, armchair had a rip on the arm. Had the English breakfast as ND this arrived with a part cooked sausage and no hash brown. Bread basket never arrived either. Would not recommend the abode or stay there again.

Very friendly staff, unfortunately there was a stain on the bed sheets which were changed when requested, walking to the room the corridor smelt of cigarette smoke. The room wasn’t 100% accurate to the photos online.

The taps were hanging of the bath and the bath was damaged. There was clear evidence of water damage in the room and mold in the shower

Rooms are way to dark and no opening window at all.

Lovely hotel, everything we needed in the room, staff were lovely indeed. Room 202 not recommended to those disturbed by noise - generator / fan close by.

Modern hotel with spacious and comfortable room. Pleasant staff, good location. TV was a bit dated though and some major Chanels weren't available, probably needs re-tuning which is a common problem I find in many hotels these days!

The hotel is nice, clean, with friendly staff. Only problem I have with the hotel, is the WiFi is terrible. When I say terrible, struggling to load a youtube video.

Loved the room—spacious, quiet and with fantastic views. The beds were huge and exceptionally comfy. The only niggles were unreliable Wi-Fi and service that could have been friendlier and more proactive. Otherwise, we really enjoyed our stay.

Breakfast was amazing with great views. Room was nice but a bit tired around the edges and TV didn't work. Overall it was great value for what we paid and I would happily stay again.

Great location. Comfortable room. Great shower. Balcony a plus, nicer than a jammed window for fresh air. Breakfast was really good. Shortage of plugs in the bedroom would be my only criticism.

Rooms very spacious. Very nice array of teas and coffees. Was a bit dark in the room, and hard to work out how to get any lights on - have to go round and individually turn lamps on and there was no hall light near the door so hard to see how to control the heating - not a major issue but a bit odd for a nice hotel. Also could do with USB ports for charging. Parking is very limited, this should be made clearer on the advert - they emailed about it after but you can't cancel then. It's also extortionately priced, though at least secure. I'd advise parking across in the little roodee car park as it's cheaper and really close.

The place generally was a bit tired. We booked the delux room and the bed was 2 singles pushed together which wasnt great. Id expect at the minimum a double bed if not a king size. There was thick layers of dust on the lamps and the decor was tired. The sockets were poorly placed and there was no where charge your phone near the bed. Overall i would say our stays in premier inns were alot better. The bathrooms were tired and have a shower over bath which again was tired woth poor finishes. Thr location was good thats the only real positive.

Great location, rooms was nice and large. Only issue is the mattress which felt like it had seen better days. Very spongy and if you staying with someone, the lighter person will roll to the middle. Otherwise all great.

Friendly, attentive staff throughout the hotel. Huge choice of breakfast options and excellent quality. Hotel is conveniently placed for city access. We rate this as a great choice for a stay in Chester and will return in the future.

We've stayed here a couple of times now and the service was excellent once again. Be sure to include the breakfast in your stay, as there's a great choice and service is great.

My second and last stay at this property. Both times when paying for breakfast and upon asking for a second cup of coffee we were not spoken to again. We waited almost 40 min for the coffee. When we decided to walk out (just like our first visit) we said cancel it. I asked if we weren’t allowed a second cup since it happened twice and other reviews mentioned the same. The reason….the staff were busy cooking. Sorry. It’s just a cup of Coffee and a small thing to offer to keep customers wanting to return. I’ll be using hotels within town from now on. Too expensive for lack of care and attention offered

Our third stay at abode Chester and have to say there was a change in the quality of service from the reception staff and the breakfast staff from our previous last two stays! As we have done before once settled in room called reception and asked for some ice to be sent up to the room, but this time we were told we had to call the bar on level 5. Day one breakfast was excellent. The second day was not good at all. The waitress delivered the drinks with no milk and by the time we got it the drinks were cold. The food order was wrong asked for no mushroom and fried egg cooked on both sides. Came with mushroom and egg was snotty.the breakfast was returned and even after requesting no mushroom for the second time it returned with the mushroom. She also slammed everything down on the table! It was as if she did not want to be there and her top had a big stain down it. The bar staff were excellent. We eat out both nights on our return the receptionist had her head in her hands as if she was asleep! Been a big change in staff not good.

The lady at reception was rude, there were crumbs on the bed, the iron didn’t work the sink was leaking and when we voiced our concerns we were met with “ok” by the reception

The icing on the top was the incredible staff, I hope they are very much appreciated. Friendly, helpful and approachable. Without them it would be just another nice hotel 👍👍👌👌

Room was with breakfast but one day chef did not turned up. No breakfast, no refund. Another day I was waiting 20min for coffee, it never arrived. I gave up and left the restaurant.

The hotel was fine and the room was clean and spacious. The issue was breakfast, considering there weren’t a lot of people dining. Our order was eventually taken, and after waiting quite some time, I watched a waiter ( he was new apparently) take a breakfast to a guy on his own. The guy mentioned to the waiter the eggs were missing! I then thought ‘ was that my husbands breakfast?’ A lady who seemed to be in charge then bought the man’s breakfast with eggs and she took the wrong breakfast away looking puzzled. Another waiter came and asked if everything was ok and I said No, we are waiting for our food order. He then came back with the plate that the man on the next table had been given and the food was cold ! I took the plate to another member of staff and asked for a fresh, hot plate of food and also my order. They eventually came and we asked for more toast but that didn’t arrive, so we left. I would hate to see how they cope with a full restaurant!

Clean and a good location. However, there were only 2 plug sockets in a large room, and the customer service wasn’t great. Upon check in, staff didn’t tell us the check-out time, where breakfast was, or how to get onto the WiFi. The staff member barely said a word to us and came across rude. There is limited phone signal in Chester, and the hotel WiFi didn’t work. Apart from that, the hotel is great, just a shame about the customer service.

Great location. Convenient parking opposite. Clean room and quiet with good aircon. Tv in room 310 had only BBC1 and 2 and the shower clearly always splashed into one area in the bathroom so the wall was going mouldy. Other than great stay :)

Well located for all the amenities that Chester has to offer. Clean and tidy, staff are great also.

Great location and stay.

Even though the hotel is near a busy ring road, it was very quiet. There is a lovely view from the upper level restaurant and the location itself is very handy for both the main town and a leisurely river walk. We enjoyed our 3 night stay and had a great meal at a nearby pub only 3 minutes walk away.

Excellent place to stay for Chester city

Lovely hotel within walking distance of chester. Air con made it more bearable in hot weather with decent size room.

lovely hotel, great price, definitely include breakfast as the food is fantastic and the view over the racecourse is amazing. Friendly and helpful staff. Car parking is limited so get there early. Public car parking close by if preferred or needed.

Very convenient for city centre.

Absolutely fantastic, lovely warm and welcoming. Staff both at the reception desk and in the dining room, were friendly and helpful, nothing was too much trouble. Breakfast was delicious, waiter service, which meant the food was freshly cooked to order, with a superb menu which gave lots of options. The best hotel we’ve ever stayed in, we will definitely be back. It was a much needed, break and certainly met our needs. Thank you

Overall an OK stay but ages things could be better. Arrived around 7pm on Friday evening for a 2 night stay. Checked in but only given 1 room key and not asked if I wanted 2. Asked what time I would like breakfast as I had to book a time. Personally I would rather decide in the morning instead of running to a schedule but no real problem. Allocated room 319 a Desirable Room overlooking the inner courtyard. Room was a good size, had a bath with shower over. There are 2 issues with the bathroom - the door!! It’s a frosted glass door that doesn’t close without leaving a gap all the way round (it’s not broke, it’s made like that), you can hear every bodily function from the bedroom!! 2nd is the toiletries, whoever designed the bathroom did not give any thought to how to use the toiletries while in the bath. They are fixed onto the wall, right at the far end of the bath high up. You need to stand up every time you want to access them. Not good. The other issue is the actual breakfast. It’s served on the 5th floor and it is all table service. Fine if you like that, but I would have liked to have been able to self serve fruit, yoghurts & cereals. There are none. You basically have tea / coffee, toast & croissants and then order from a menu. I had a full English & what I had was very nice, I’m not someone that eats loads at breakfast so it was fine for me but if you’re expecting a full plate then you’ll be disappointed. Cooked food fine but would be good to have continental also

We had a lovely time visiting Chester for the first time, the hotel was lovely , prime location and modern. Unfortunately the breakfast service was a bit of a let down. Waited a very long time to be seated we were the only ones waiting, warm drinks arrived with no milk, had to ask for some later, didn’t seem any organisation the staff so much so we did not go for our breakfast on the Sunday which was a shame seen as tho this was paid for

The room (Most Desirable) surpassed our expectations. The staff were all friendly and service excellent. Breakfast was fantastic quality with a huge choice.

Nice spacious room Good location Nice afternoon tea Disappointed in breakfast very salty and not very fresh .very dry to eat. Wanted an item off the menu and not available at 8 o’clock on a Sunday. Waiting on staff not great no offers of coffee top up.

Loved room, comfy beds , clean and quiet. Great views. Breakfast not buffet style , awful coffee but overall lovely stay .
