This was a lovely “oldy” hotel and as such has a very comfortable atmosphere. The staff are very friendly and helpful. In fact as there is no elevator, our bags were carried up and down the stairs for us which was wonderful. We had a very pleasant stay indeed. Thank you

Great location in the centre of town. Facilities felt a bit tired but that's to be expected for a building of this type. Can't fault it.

This hotel has approx 9 rooms . If all the other rooms were like ours then you should have no fears on what to expect. Good size very very comfortable good bathroom all very clean. Excellent. The hotel does a wonderful breakfast which has been praised by many people in other reviews . Other meals are also available throughout the day especially evening time which are very nice and good value. Staff were all kind ,pleasant willing and helpful. No parking on site ( you are able to drop off your bags ) but car park is only a few hundred yards away behind hotel no issue at all. Parking is £10 per day. Hotel is situated almost next door to the cathedral and again a few minutes walk from city centre. You won't be dis appointed.

This is a very convenient property in the centre of Chester. You do have to walk up two flights of stairs with your suitcase. Also, the water pressure was very poor in the shower. Bit apart from that a good location.

Wonderfull room at front of the house. A room with a view! Second floor without elavator is a bit uncomfortable with much lugage. Third bed was awefull > broken back.... Breakfast was WONDERFULL! Location Superb!

Had a lovely visit the staff are friendly chatty and offer excellent service, the bar is clean and again friendly helpful staff, the restaurant is gorgeous and offers great choice of food, the food snd service are excellent. The room was large lots of space clean and comfortable. Fabulous place to stay in heart of everything facing the Cathedral, short walk to Chester Wall, short walk to lots of shops and restaurants.

The hotel was centrally located for the Market, the Cathedral, the Walls, most of the shops, and innumerable restaurants and cafes. Parking (in the new Market car park) was a very short walk away. The hotel was warm and welcoming, and there is a side entrance that leads to the room if you are out after closing time. The room was spacious, well decorated, well equipped and clean with a very comfortable bed (pillows were nice too!) There was a table and two chairs as well as a dressing table with another chair, a wardrobe, a safe, and somewhere to put your suitcases. Tea and coffee making facilities were really good, with the addition of two glass tumblers. No USB port for charging devices, so you need to bring a plug. However, the lady who served breakfast kindly charged my phone for me whilst we were eating.The bathroom was adequate and very warm with bath and shower over, although being a perfectionist I noticed that the shower screen and mirror had not been polished, although they bore cloth marks so clearly had been cleaned. The towels were pure white and fluffy, the toiletries excellent, and a plentiful supply of toilet tissue. It's an old building, so expect some noise from rooms above, but generally the room was quiet, overlooking a police station, and had a window that could be opened. I would definitely stay there again.

It's a small hotel, only 9 rooms, over a decent restaurant on the town hall square. The staff were friendly, helpful, and efficient, and the room was spacious, with a cheerful view of the town hall and square. Location is excellent -- 100 meters to the cathedral, and two blocks from the main shopping street or access to the city wall promenade. Only concerns were: while the main bed was fine and normal, the portable bed they rolled in for a third person had a bend to it that made it uncomfortable for a side sleeper; and the room safe was somewhat cubical in shape, so it barely held a small laptop; and the carpet in both the room and hallways was at the far end of its cleaning cycle and ready for a steam cleaning at the end of the season. Overall, it was pleasant, great value, and highly recommended.

A lovely spotlessly clean hotel, rooms are spacious comfortable with everything you need tea/coffee facilities, iron and ironing board, a fan, a fridge and a hairdryer. All the staff are lovely and the food is delicious.

Location perfect loved the bar area great atmosphere and staff very attentive and the food was excellent. The room had everything you could need. Safe, fridge iron & ironing board hairdryer & fan the room was hot so opened the window in the bathroom but very noisy early hours could cope with the revellers as city location but it was brewery noise/ council. Bed was odd, huge gap between mattress & bedhead and the base had different widths?? The room was immaculately clean when arrived but during our 2 nights stay disappointed to say the bathroom wasn’t cleaned, bin not emptied and used towels still in shower not replaced couldn’t see the point in complaining to management as only there 2 nights would have if overlooked again. All said the staff are lovely and made you feel incredibly welcome

Overall a very nice stay room very clean great comfy bed tea and coffee provided bathroom satisfactory good shower only problem walls are very thin and we could hear the people in neighbouring rooms talking quite clearly, but overall very nice hotel in an excellent position.

Was in Chester for a stop over for the night. Although the pub was nice and food good. I thought the upper halls and room could have been a bit cleaner. Stair carpets cleaned and dust on the paintings cleaned. Mattress on the beds was one of the main things to let it down. Could do with changing. It was like sleeping on a pile of potatoes.

Lovely team running the hotel. Bar on ground floor is great. Hotel part is, however, tired and need of updating and a deep clean. Bed wasn’t good and needs replacing.

Expedia may want to review the review of this property. It boasts a wonderful and 9.2 rating and the place is in serious disrepair. Dirty room, dirty, moldy bathroom and a TV remote caked with sticky dirt and grime. I think someone may be creating false reviews for this property.

Really nice hotel, I didn't use the pub or restaurant part, but the hotel was brilliant, can be a bit loud with the live singing etc in the centre which isn't far from the property, but I did know this would be the case, no issues at all, would recommend for sure.

The only complaint I had about the stay at the coach house was the constant noise of a machine running all through the night, we were in room 8, we could not leave the winddows open, or I would not have slept

Pleasant room in the centre of Chester. /it was a little noisy, but only what was to be expected on a Saturday night in a city centre! Bed was comfortable, and room was clean. There is only one minor concern: We were given one key, which opened the front door, the door to the room's entrance, and our room door. Does this mean others can also use their key to access other rooms? Not sure... There is a safe provided, so for this reason, I'd use it for any valuables left in the room!

Room 5: Pros: a very large room. Comfortable bed. Nice furniture - loved the chairs in this establishment. Also, stunning artwork displayed. I’m addition, Peaky Blinders fans will be pleased with some of the framed pictures. Cons: No lift. Getting in and out of the bath for a shower could be a problem for someone with mobility issues. Could hear Party goers at 4am from the street outside and delivery trucks started early.

The bedroom (No. 1) was spacious however the king size bed was infact 2 singles pushed together with an uncomfortable ridge in between them both, the mattresses were very soft & at every turn the springs would make a loud noise during the night. I mentioned this in the morning prior to checking out & they confirmed the bed was soft. I suggest they change the Ironing board as the cover was torn & the Iron had a large brown stain on the plate. Breakfast was good, the staff are friendly & helpful but the lack of comfort/sleep would prevent me from booking at this hotel in the future.

The hotel was nice, food in the restaurant was lovely and staff were absolutely lovely. Our room was clean and spacious. However, we were rudely awakened at 5.45am by the drayman who was making a delivery to the cellar. Barrels were thrown and rolled down the dray delivery hatch for well over an hour finally stopping around 7.00am. Not impressed :-(

Great central location for Chester’s shopping and restaurants. Stay coincided with Christmas Market which is just outside the front door! No issue with Saturday night crowds outside - comfy & cosy bedroom allowed for a good night’s rest. Staff couldn’t be more helpful to check in early, drop bags and look after them after checkout.

Lovely stay. Had a premier room which was large. Staff helpful and friendly. Special mention to the young man with the pony tail who was there at breakfast. Met him before and he is very hospitable and professional. Breakfast was very good and piping hot we paid 9.95 each for it. Woken up early by the noise of the bin men and the work men but this is not the fault of the establishment. Parking only a minute away through the market and cost us 16.50 to park overnight. We arrived at 12.20 to leave our bags but our room was ready which was a nice bonus. I like the relaxed easy going atmosphere in this place and the staff are very welcoming. We would be happy to stay again.

Had a lovely visit the staff are friendly chatty and offer excellent service, the bar is clean and again friendly helpful staff, the restaurant is gorgeous and offers great choice of food, the food snd service are excellent. The room was large lots of space clean and comfortable. Fabulous place to stay in heart of everything facing the Cathedral, short walk to Chester Wall, short walk to lots of shops and restaurants.

The people in this hotel are incredibly friendly and helpful. The hotel is located in a very busy and popular section of town and we arrived on a Friday night so the atmosphere was lively which was fun but a little noisy when it came time for sleep. Other than that we had a wonderful experience and would come back in a heartbeat!

Excellent place to stay for a trip to Chester shopping. Everything on your doorstep. Great food and great 2 for 1 cocktails. The room was spacious and bed very comfortable. Car park behind a little pricy though.

The hotel was centrally located for the Market, the Cathedral, the Walls, most of the shops, and innumerable restaurants and cafes. Parking (in the new Market car park) was a very short walk away. The hotel was warm and welcoming, and there is a side entrance that leads to the room if you are out after closing time. The room was spacious, well decorated, well equipped and clean with a very comfortable bed (pillows were nice too!) There was a table and two chairs as well as a dressing table with another chair, a wardrobe, a safe, and somewhere to put your suitcases. Tea and coffee making facilities were really good, with the addition of two glass tumblers. No USB port for charging devices, so you need to bring a plug. However, the lady who served breakfast kindly charged my phone for me whilst we were eating.The bathroom was adequate and very warm with bath and shower over, although being a perfectionist I noticed that the shower screen and mirror had not been polished, although they bore cloth marks so clearly had been cleaned. The towels were pure white and fluffy, the toiletries excellent, and a plentiful supply of toilet tissue. It's an old building, so expect some noise from rooms above, but generally the room was quiet, overlooking a police station, and had a window that could be opened. I would definitely stay there again.

We loved Chester and The Coach House Inn! The location of the inn can't be beat. We were there for NYE, and we couldn't hear any noise from all of the festivities going on in and around the inn. We also ate in the restaurant downstairs and very much enjoyed our meal. The service was great, even though it was a packed house.

The property is perfectly situated in the heart of Chester, a couple of minutes to the Cathedral & the Chester Wall. All the shops, bars & restaurants are on your doorstep too! Breakfast was excellent, we had Full English & the quality was fantastic- Best sausage I’ve had!!!! Overall we would recommend staying here.

Lovely spacious room. Hotel is located in centre of Chester Bed really comfortable . Coach House inn staff very friendly and helpful. Had breakfast and evening meal at hotel and it was excellent and very reasonably priced. Will definitely be returning. Highly recommended

The room was clean and spacious and quiet and bed was comfy everything I needed for my stay away Right in the hub of the city Just note that there is no lift should anyone have a large bag although I’m sure someone would help with lifting up the stairs and could do with making the key fob smaller as it’s a bit big to carry around I’d definitely recommend this place to anyone staying in Chester 😊

Room 4 was very hot. Windows didn’t open. A large fan was provided but it was very noisy. Mattress in room 4 was lumpy & needed replacing. However overall great stay. And we would recommend staying here.

Bathroom ok but areas of mould, missing grout from floor tiles & extractor fan was thick with dust. Beware - hot water is scalding! Bath towels are quite small & thin, would take own if staying again. Stairs up to rooms do smell bad & stair carpet quite worn. Room was quite cheap for Chester but probably wouldn’t stay again.
