We checked in at 8:30pm from a 6 hour drive for a weekend trip. The front staff was short with us, nothing terribly awful, just not the front desk experience Ive had before with other La Quinta's. After check in, we went to our room. Everything looked clean and as expected for the price and previous reviews. Went out for a late supper. Returned around 11pm. Showers for everyone first, then to get in bed. My brother stayed in the next hotel room so I visited with him while my 7 yo, 4 yo, and husband laid down and went to sleep in our room. About 30 min after talking with my brother and making plans for the next day, I go back to my room and cut on the lamp lights to find BED BUGS ON BOTH QUEEN BEDS! Throughout all my years of hotels, I've never experienced this. I grabbed my kids and husband, took pictures, grabbed all our stuff, and informed my brother in the next room and headed downstairs to ask for a refund and try to find another hotel at midnight. The front desk staff- Sonny - was horrible. He didnt believe me & wanted to see them for himself- which was fine. He didnt see them and asked multiple times "show me where they are" and I showed him my pictures with the picture details/time stamps and told him I would not lie about bed bugs with a 4 yo & 7yo at 1230am to go try to find another hotel. He agreed to "cancel" my reservation. Currently waiting to make sure the charge goes away bc it is still showing in my account.0/10 experience.
