Our stay here was fantastic. We were there for my husband’s 50th birthday. We stayed in the garden room for 2 nights. We had our own space with kitchen and bathroom. The staff are so friendly and accommodating. We would stay here again and highly recommend.

Liked: Water/ice machine, entire butler's pantry. Staff was amazing and kind. House was rich with detail. Plenty of room for playing board games, or resting on the patio outside. 2 complaints: Please oil door hinges. The house makes enough noises as it is. Also, the lack of homemade breakfast was disappointing since the property is billed as a "B&B". There was a "continental" breakfast with no protein...only carbs & sugar.

Absolutely perfect downtown stay in a quiet neighbourhood. After spending 6 days and 6 nights here, it sincerely felt like home thanks to the amazing staff. Incredibly clean, a perfectly comfortable room with complimentary snacks, additional amenities, breakfasts every day to suit every dietary need and taste, and hospitality that was priceless! David was the most amazing host and made my stay here so special- you’d never get this level of service at a hotel chain, and it was such a great experience. HIGHLY recommend this property for a perfect visit to Indianapolis, whether it’s a quick weekend getaway or a longer stay.

We enjoyed our stay here a lot. Its an old home, so when there is someone walking around the house (esp above you) it's loud. The curtains in our room were very thin, so the room was bright all night long, which I let them know at check out. But other than that it was a nice stay. The bed was comfy, the room was nice and clean. We stayed in the Lily Room, so we had a jacuzzi tub. We felt safe in our room, and the area. There is a food hall not too far from the house , which had a ton of food options. Our innkeepers were all friendly and offered suggestions for the area. The breakfast was nice, they had a waffle maker, boiled eggs, bagels, fresh fruit and other items.

Interesting older home was a great place to stay. Clean and comfortable and free parking. Walkable to city, but some folks may be a little hesitant at night but we did it without problem. Third floor got a little stuffy, a small fan to run with the window open would be a nice addition as it was a cooler night.

Have not stayed in a B&B before. Once I got over of the ” sharing of bathroom” , settled in and everything was GREAT. The breakfast was simple yet satisfying , and everything fresh , and tasted great.great service there !!

Didn’t realize the room had a shared bathroom down the hall. The room itself was comfortable and clean. Arriving at night, the location seemed rather isolated. However, in the morning, easy to talk to several attractions. Parking was free. All in all a good value, but note certain rooms share bathrooms.

We expected more when we decided to stay at the Stone Soup. We love to support small businesses versus large chains. Our room was dirty - I cleaned hair out of the drain and the sink. I always bring gloves and Clorox wipes with me when we travel and I’m glad I did. The “bed” that our son slept on was horrible. It was so hard and uncomfortable. There was popcorn from a previous guest under the “bed”. Our room was hot and we were unable to adjust the temperature. When we checked in, we were told there would be a waffle bar in the morning. We came down to a dirty table, the other guest’s plates hadn’t been cleared. No waffle bar and no cereal bowls were left. The grapes didn’t look like they had been properly washed. There was no one manning the desk when we came down to breakfast so we ate what was left on the table.

This has a really friendly bed & breakfast experience, in a fun Victorian home, and the proprietors encourage conversation with the other guests during the nicely-balanced complimentary breakfasts. The staff is very friendly, knowledgeable about the area, and helpful. There did seem to be some issue with the HVAC which made it cool down when it was already cold, but I'm assuming that was temporary, and had to do with the awkwardness of the specific room I took - this is an old house, after all.

beautiful classic colonial home. beautiful inside. a variety of options in terms of rooms. David the innkeeper was very helpful. very friendly and represents the property well. easy drive to downtown from location. great restaurants in the neighborhood. thoroughly enjoyed my stay and will definitely be back.

We had the whole place to ourselves so we thought it was very odd as we were rushed through breakfast. Our room was on the 3rd floor, we could handle the climb but it was a hike. We walked downtown which was very close by.

My wife and I stayed here two nights and really enjoyed it. The room was very comfortable and the staff we interacted with were all friendly and very helpful. We got to enjoy breakfast with other guests and that was a very nice way to start the day.
My wife and I stayed here two nights and really enjoyed it. The room was very comfortable and the staff we interacted with were all friendly and very helpful. We got to enjoy breakfast with other guests and that was a very nice way to start the day.

Absolutely perfect downtown stay in a quiet neighbourhood. After spending 6 days and 6 nights here, it sincerely felt like home thanks to the amazing staff. This is the cutest Inn! Beautiful historic home close to downtown. The innkeeper who checked us went above and beyond by giving us a new room just to make sure we weren’t cold. The bed was really comfortable too. Will be back!

This was the first time my wife and I have stayed at a bed and breakfast, and we loved it! The host and his wife were the kindest of people. We would absolutely stay again! I would recommend for any couple or family looking to have a unique, fun stay in Indianapolis.

This was a great place to stay. The innkeeper was amazing. We were able to walk to the Gainbridge Fieldhouse for a concert (30 min walk) and to dinner. It was quiet, clean and unique!

Interesting older home was a great place to stay. Clean and comfortable and free parking. Walkable to city, but some folks may be a little hesitant at night but we did it without problem. Third floor got a little stuffy, a small fan to run with the window open would be a nice addition as it was a cooler night.

Didn’t realize the room had a shared bathroom down the hall. The room itself was comfortable and clean. Arriving at night, the location seemed rather isolated. However, in the morning, easy to talk to several attractions. Parking was free. All in all a good value, but note certain rooms share bathrooms.

We expected more when we decided to stay at the Stone Soup. We love to support small businesses versus large chains. Our room was dirty - I cleaned hair out of the drain and the sink. I always bring gloves and Clorox wipes with me when we travel and I’m glad I did. The “bed” that our son slept on was horrible. It was so hard and uncomfortable. There was popcorn from a previous guest under the “bed”. Our room was hot and we were unable to adjust the temperature. When we checked in, we were told there would be a waffle bar in the morning. We came down to a dirty table, the other guest’s plates hadn’t been cleared. No waffle bar and no cereal bowls were left. The grapes didn’t look like they had been properly washed. There was no one manning the desk when we came down to breakfast so we ate what was left on the table.

This has a really friendly bed & breakfast experience, in a fun Victorian home, and the proprietors encourage conversation with the other guests during the nicely-balanced complimentary breakfasts. The staff is very friendly, knowledgeable about the area, and helpful. There did seem to be some issue with the HVAC which made it cool down when it was already cold, but I'm assuming that was temporary, and had to do with the awkwardness of the specific room I took - this is an old house, after all.

The house is absolutely gorgeous and the staff is warm and inviting. The neighborhood is charming. However, the breakfast, though beautifully staged, was no better than a continental breakfast at a budget hotel.

Liked: Water/ice machine, entire butler's pantry. Staff was amazing and kind. House was rich with detail. Plenty of room for playing board games, or resting on the patio outside. 2 complaints: Please oil door hinges. The house makes enough noises as it is. Also, the lack of homemade breakfast was disappointing since the property is billed as a "B&B". There was a "continental" breakfast with no protein...only carbs & sugar.

The house was beautiful and I really appreciated the architecture. The only negative thing I would have to say is that the loft area and rooms did not go with the rest of the home. They were obviously made into rooms afterwards and do not have the same feel as the rest of the house. I wish that they would have been built with the same craftsmanship as the rest of the house. I will definitely stay again but will book a different room.

Laura is an excellent manager for the property. She greeted us warmly and provided a lot of information about the property and surrounding area. The Cottage we reserved was clean and roomy. The continental breakfast was delicious! Should we pass through Indy again, we will definitely make efforts to stay here again. Thank you!

The staff was supremely helpful and lovely. Breakfast was fantastic (thank you for the waffles, Laura!) and I appreciated the outdoor patio space--I ate my dinner outside most nights. Quiet neighborhood, but an easy trip to the Convention Center for my work event. 10/10 would stay again!
