Aqua Breeze Inn

Pros: good price, nice staff, separate bedroom, very close to the boardwalk and beach, free parking/availability, fridge, microwave, allow pets, good plumbing/hot water. Cons: paper thin walls, uncomfortable beds (can feel the springs), bad WiFi, cheap towels & bedding. It’s definitely a 2-3 star motel but if you’re traveling on a small budget, you’ll appreciate it.

Everything was fine but very limited parking.

The room was very clean we had a refrigerator and microwave which is what we needed. It was close to the Boardwalk and within walking distance to small markets to buy supplies and restaurants. It is a small property but the space is well used including a small deck area with tables for guests. Has laundry available so you can wash your wet/dirty clothes. Would go again.

The building is a bit run down. Our room was OK. Beds comfy. Bathroom is tiny & fan was really loud. No frills. Most staff were friendly, other than the lady at checkout. Loved that they are dog friendly and directly across from Boardwalk. Very easy to walk/skateboard/bike to get food. No late night noises.

It’s all about location, and they have it. But they cemented over the pool and took away the breakfast… they still charge so much and keep taking away things… we had a kitchen unit and we had to bring all our own plates etc…the only good thing is location

The staff was friendly and very helpful with finding us a parking spot..... the parking there is tight, not designed for anything past a small suv, definitely not for larger vehicles or trucks. The room was clean and the beds were okay. The bathroom was very small but did the job.

Its a quaint spot. Right accross the street of the Boardwalk. Room was nice - nothing extravagant, which is what to expect for the what you get. It was quiet and the staff was friendly. The back parkingll area is a bit sketch, but nothing they can do much about it. They are limited on parking.

The motel is directly across the boardwalk which is great and parking was included in stay. The room had a microwave and a fairly large fridge. The room was fairly small, but clean. Shower only and no bathtub. The property does not have a pool.

Room was updated with laminate flooring, fresh paint and included a mini fridge and microwave. The room had 2 queen beds and 1 full bed enough for 2 adults and 3 kids to sleep. Parking is tight and was full in front, but the property offers parking behind the motel and at the motel next door. We stayed here because we were only here for one night and the boardwalk is literally right across the parking lot from the motel.

Directly across from the Santa Cruz Beach Boardwalk and volleyball courts. Staff was friendly. Parking was a little sketchy and office/laundry hours were 9am-10pm, which was a little inconvenient but nothing that would make us not stay there.

Great location across the street from the boardwalk. We were pleasantly surprised by the cleanliness of the room for an older, dated building. The front desk clerk was friendly & the check-in process was easy. It’s a no frills hotel, but you can tell they try to keep it clean & maintained. My teen loved having her own private room inside our room too. We mainly just needed the room to sleep with an early morning departure, but we would definitely book here again.

Clean and nice room

This place wasn’t great… when we got there, after parking and trying to make a work call, we were approached by the front desk person and told we couldn’t park there. We told him we were checking in and he just walked back into the office without saying anything. The room itself was clean-ish. There was a mushroom growing out of the ceiling of our shower though. The toilet had clearly not been cleaned as well. There were things in it from the last guest. Thankfully I always have Clorox wipes in the car. My last complaint would be the noise. There are signs about no loud noise after 10. However, the room next to us had a very loud party in it. Music was blasting, people were screaming. That didn’t end until about 1am. I don’t think anyone was on site to stop it. I’m not sure, I wasn’t comfortable going out to check or ask them to quiet down. Perks of this hotel… it’s walking distance to the boardwalk and wharf. The bed appeared to be clean, and they did come in and make it while we were gone (still didn’t clean the bathroom or put new towels in). It seems relatively safe. I didn’t see homeless people or encounter anyone I was concerned about. It’s one of those things where you get what you pay for. We wanted something walking distance to things that wasn’t super expensive, and the results just didn’t work out for us.

This motel has a great location situated a few minutes walk from the pier and amusement park. The motel rooms have clean sheets and towels but don’t appear to be very clean beyond that.

Management was rude didn’t find out so we got there only one car allowed in the parking lot. Had to pay $35 to park across the street. The room had a bug crawling on the wall that I’ve never even seen before that was huge not clean, dirty not kept up

I would love to give this motel a great review based on how nice the staff was. Unfortunately the property was filthy. The floors and floorboards looked like the inside of a gas station bathroom. Dirty shower, hair and mystery substance on the wall. I immediately went to the office and complained. They did have the cleaning service come back and clean however there was still visible dirt and grime. I think the room was so far gone it really needed like a professional deep cleaning company to come in. The location is great! Right accross from the boardwalk. Other than that I can honestly say I have never seen anything like it was far as how dirty it was.

Pros very close to the boardwalk. Walking distance across parking area. Staff friendly. Walking distance to eating places. Limited parking stayed parking for this reason. Cons: Shower wasn’t clean. Drain cover loose in shower. Beds seem old outdated. Can feel springs. Door missing security latch as looks like had fallen off.

Room was typical for a touristy beach town. It's an older hotel with wear & tear but it served its purpose. Grandkids loved the outside murals & sea theme. Very conveniently located across from boardwalk. Saved us from having to pay for parking in the lot across the street.

The inside of the room was extremely basic, however clean. It definitely needed some modern touches. There were no elevators and dark stairwells. It would not be a place a lady would feel safe alone. The bed constantly squeaked anytime you moved. It was convenient to walk to the boardwalk. The front office staff were very nice. A paint job would help make the experience nicer. Even though we stayed the night we highly considered finding an alternative.

The room was perfect for a family with a separate king bedroom and two queens in the other room. This property was perfect for us as we had 17 and 15 year old grandsons and our 6 year old grandaughter with us. The boys walked to the boardwalk when ever they wanted to which was great. This property is older but well maintained and clean, the staff was great and the free on site parking was a godsend. We read alot of the negative reviews from people that were obviously expecting the Ritz Carlton which it is not but it so convenient and totally met our expectations. We were very satisfied.

The location was perfect as it was close to the boardwalk. The room was clean and a good size for what were were using it for. Out of the three beds in the room one was uncomfortable as we could hear the springs of the bed as we got on it. Overall, for the price it was a great.

This was a good place for a quick trip to Santa Cruz. We stayed with our family of 5 for one night. There was plenty of space for all of us. They only have stairs so if you need an elevator you would need to request the first floor. The place is a bit run down however, if the only thing you need is a clean place with a bed to sleep in then this will work for you. The walking distance to the boardwalk was great. It made it easy for us to come and go as needed. Our room was right by the patio on the second floor where people would hang out and smoke. I wasn’t a fan of that because we could smell it in the room. The beds were not super comfortable but you get what you get for the price.

This place is old but has good bones. The room was HUGE, with full size fridge and stove. It honestly was a mini apartment. The second bed was in a separate room. So it was really nice for the wife and I to have private time and not worry about the kids seeing us, you can just close the door. I definitely would come back here again!!!

Check in was painless and quick. We had a bottom floor room so we heard everyone’s foot steps from above room. Also heard next door tenant snoring. So walls are pretty thin. On a good note, bed was comfortable and room was really clean.

I'm still awaiting a refund. The front desk was very rude and not helpful. Stating expedia has to contact them for a refund approval and expedia only has chat customer support which sent the hotel a message. I've still not heard back from either regarding my refund but they can ask me to write a review. Horrible.

Great location to the Boardwalk. The hospitality wasn't that great. The check in was ok, but the morning guy was rude and grumpy.

The stay was good. Nice rooms. The only issue we had was that we paid ahead of time to extend our check-out time to 1pm, and this information was not passed along to the cleaning person. She was visibly upset that we were not out of our room at 11am. I had to go down to the office to get the check-out time confirmed. Once confirmed that we had paid for a check-out time of 1pm, the cleaning person walked away (again, visibly upset) that she could not clean the room at 11am. This was not a big deal on my end but could have been avoided had this information been properly communicated.

Very affordable and very close to boardwalk. The only complaint that we have was that nobody was in office the morning of checkout. We tried to get coffee and no one around. Did not answer the phone either. We tried from 6am until 7:45 when we checked out. Good thing there was not an emergency!

Short walk to Boardwalk great views

It was very convenient to the boardwalk. Our trip is solely for the boardwalk. It's literally across the parking lot and you're there.

The location is unbeatable. Very friendly, very clean, great atmosphere and I LOVE the artwork all over the building. Next door to beaches, wharf and the Boardwalk, and a very pleasant short walk to downtown area restaurants and shops.

The property is located directly across the street from the Santa Cruz Beach Boardwalk. Clean, the staff is nice, rooms are older, but well kept. Will definitely stay again.

This is an older property, but clean. The microwave and fridge came in handy. There was not a coffee maker in the room.. which would have been nice to have. It you are 40 or older… the mattress may pose a challenge for your body. :) overall… great location! Can’t beat an across the street walk to the beach and boardwalk!

The only bad thing I found was that there was a coffee machine but no coffee. Luckily there was a restaurant just 3 minutes away for breakfast and coffee!

The location was great! The pictures look way nicer than in person. It’s definitely motel rooms. They say there is coffee between 8am and 10am but you get coffee packets to take to your room. This is very budget inn and especially for the price of the rooms.

Booked this property last min for a weekend getaway a week prior to arrival. Surprised by the 3 bed option in a 2 bedroom setup right across the way from the boardwalk! There are 2 queens with one full in spare bedroom that is like a cubic space with a window & mirror. Had a couple moveable end tables which was nice. The room itself was a good size & we didn’t feel on top of each other as much. Bathroom was clean but prepare to bring toiletries as they only offer a built foam hand wash & body wash in shower. Bring a hair dryer if needed. They have a coffee maker as well but you have to grab the coffee from the lobby, along with tea & not much other condiments. This place is old & they just smacked on a coat of paint with a few wall decals & paintings. The beds were ok but squeaky with minimal sheets but they had a heater as it was colder during our stay. No extra blankets. Room could’ve used a doormat inside the room. No elevator so if you have any issues with stairs, then request bottom level. They have 3 levels. The rooms near the 2nd level hall stairway can hear the rear parking gate slam shut constantly & it’s really loud. Curtains also don’t fully provide privacy. We had to move them around a bit & add some weight on them to keep shut. Staff was nice but didn’t need them as much. I would probably recommend mainly for location & feasibility to the boardwalk. At least we didn’t have to pay for parking. I didn’t see they had a pool either.

I love this property!. So close to the beach. I do perfer my room to be facing the view & not hidden in the corner though. I also wish there was breakfast for the morning.

The Good: The place was clean and super convenient. Easy to walk to Boardwalk and pier. Plenty of good restaurants and attractions nearby. Room included free parking spot which was a huge plus in that busy area. Could Improve: The motel was not sound proof and full of guests. We could hear the boardwalk amusement park, train, and other guests very clearly. We brought a white noise machine with helped. Light sleeper beware.
