Property not very child stroller nor disable friendly

So this is a strange property. The area is safe and walkable. A great area to easily walk or uber to the center of the city. The reason it is a little odd is because it is in a dorm. The dorm houses students on all floors and the 3rd floor has been remodeled into condo units. Our particular unit was also unusual because the unit opens into a hallway with 3 fire doors. A bedroom, a bathroom and a kitchen. (all behind different fire doors) Honestly, if they had gotten rid of the hallway with the fire doors, it would have been amazing. The fire doors made for a very unusual and disjointed flat. Removing the hallway would also add room to make the shower a little larger. (I am by no means a large person, but shaving legs was pretty difficult). The bed was pushed up to the wall on one side, so that person entered the bed from the foot end. Not terrible, but there was room to make it more accessible if it had been laid out a little different. The second odd thing was that at 10:30 on Wednesdays, they have a mandatory fire alarm testing. No worries, had we known. (It wasn't mentioned and in this instance, the test didn't go off so we had to exit and wait across the street for it all to get checked out and the alarm to be turned off) They do provide breakfast and have a lovely spread in a nice breakfast room with great service. Also, we spoke with Diana in the reception. Big kudos to her! She was very easy to work with.

Elevator broken for the whole stay. Student residence. Extremely small. Very clean but claustrophobic due to windows and no view. Staff were helpful but facility is not great

Great find! Renovations meant a longer walk through to the apartments but really wasnt an issue for us. Apartment was spotless and the facilities were great. The only real downside was there are no sockets near the mirror so getting ready was a little tricky as i didnt have a mirror with me so had to use my phone camera to see as i was doing my hair. Staff were super friendly and helpful and the location was great for us!

The main entrance door was under repair. We had to go around the building to get to our room. But everything else was perfect.

The property is part of student accommodation undergoing renovations, as such the entrance is “temporary”, VERY studenty (for those students of 90s and 00s) and complex to find the 3rd floor. If first impressions count, this place isn’t for you. We were a family of 4, staying for 2 nights and chose the superior duplex style apartment, however there was very little space for clothing/luggage. For any longer stays, you might need to look elsewhere. If you’re facing the road, it’s LOUD. The windows are double glazed only (fine for home, but city centre main road and buses just below eye level..not so much) The apartment had all amenities required, but we’re starting to show wear, for example the shower head wouldn’t stay up and required to be held whilst showering. Door handles partly broken, and stains on the walls from greasy scalps due to lack of bedheads etc.. Would we stay again?….probably not. We paid almost £500 for two nights in early January, but for a little more we could have the assurance of a proper hotel.

It was so small no lift for suitcases like a Warren inside

The apartment was very small for 4 people and airless! Very noisy neighbourhood and lots of bus stops outside window 24hours! You had to walk through a maze of corridors to get to it or out of it!

The apartments/hotel is in a great location. View of Arthur’s Seat right outside. Not a far walk to the Royal Mile or other museums. Great amount of space. Kitchenette was nice to have especially for a week. The refrigerator is bigger than a mini fridge. A bit of a maze to get to your room and the lift was out part of the stay. Will definitely stay again!

The apartment itself was wonderful. Extremely clean and homey. There were a few downsides unfortunately. The hallway smell needs some attention. Our televisions worked, but the cable connection was too poor to watch anything. To be fair, we experienced a heavy storm while there, so that could have contributed. The only other negative was the fact that laundry was mentioned as being available. Upon asking about their facilities, we were highly discouraged from trying to use them (it)- single washer and dryer. My hunch was because the facility houses U of E students, and they prefer to steer outsiders from using the machine they have. However, I was told about the "Laundry Cafe"....a 7 min walk from KM apts. A bit pricey at 19/load, but was well worth it. Your clothing is washed for you while you shop around town, or sit in the cafe and sip coffee.

The room could have been cleaned a bit better, hairs in the bed and lots of hair in the bathroom sink which was actually clogging it up so I had to remove this myself. There was also quite a few marks and splashes on the glass next to the bed which had not been cleaned off. When we booked this it was not clear that this is actually inside the student halls so was a bit noisy

Lovely clean apartments, definitely recommend!

Clean. Optional room service. No breakfast included for my room even though I paid quite a huge amount - so a bit on the expensive side. Had a small kitchen for making breakfast though so not too bad.

Staff were very friendly and apartment was so clean. The bathroom was a lot smaller than expected and can be a struggle showering and moving around in the space. It is very well presented but little things are a let down, poor TV signal (understand unable to help this) smart TV option could work better. The heating you press a button then the radiator will work, radiator would turn off but then unable to press the wall button again.

Over our two days here, we had an incredible time. The property's location is suitable distance from the majority of Edinburgh's well-known attractions. Our room seemed brand new because it had been thoroughly cleaned. Also, the staff is really helpful and courteous. They will undoubtedly make every effort to guarantee that your stay remains comfortable and best

Pleasant Small but adequate quite dark Room Didn’t like glass in bedroom

When we arrived there was a very strange odour. We went to the front desk and the brought in an essential oil reed sticks. It didn't really help but I appreciated the effort. It would have been nice to know that the rooms were actually a part of the dorms. We probably would not have stayed here. Our room was the farthest possible spot!! The layout was also very strange. It was basically 3 levels. The entry floor held the washroom which emitted a horrible odour. To the right you go up 4 stairs and there was a desk with a chair. then down the stair a queen bed in the cubby and a pull out sofa. There was a table and chairs and a decent kitchen. The model I thought I booked had the bed on the second level. so basically the second level was useless and 4 of us were on main level. It was tight.Apart for that it was spotless. Was it worth the cost? Probably not. Would I stay again. Probably not.

The room was fairly nice and modern, The rooms are not particulrly spacious abd the bathroom lets the rest of the room down a little, such a modern apartment with a poor basic bathroom. The loaction is good not too far from old town however the bit i wasnt aware of is that this is just a middle floor of a student block of flats.

Excellent bed. It's a small unit but quite adequate. The kitchen could have used some more cutlery, utensils and a fry pan. The instructions for operating the oven and stovetop could be improved.

The University of Edinburgh runs a lovely catered apartment set right in the heart of their residence facility which allows for ease of getting around not only the city but if you are headed to the university (as I was) puts you right on the front doorstep. Lots of different flat configurations are available - I chose a studio as I had my son with me. It was great to have split levels to give you some space to yourself as well as a nice kitchen and simple (but comfortable) shower and toilet. Two reasons it's not five stars: 1. The internet was wobbly during our stay which may have been a fluke but as it was primarily a work trip was an annoyance. 2. Their breakfast had close to zero vegan options. Had I known I wouldn't have booked it (considering that Edinburgh is a very accommodating city) I don't think this should put anyone off coming, however. I think if you are looking for a location close to town but set back enough that you can work and rest in peace, it's perfect. I would definitely stay again.

Don’t keep your hopes too high. This is basically a university accommodation converted hotel, so sound insulation is quite bad. The TV was also not working.

Waited 3 hours to check in to our room as the computers were down, but the rooms cwrds were sittting there to issue and did not have a time the issies were fixed

Really high spec apartment with everything you need and excellent location. Less than 10 minutes from the Royal Mile and 2 minutes from the shops. Perfect for our three night trip.

KM apartments are on a floor of a block of accommodation that otherwise house University of Edinburgh students. We found the location convenient for us, the apartment to be quiet (though we understand not all of them are quiet), well furnished, clean and suitable for us. The breakfast was good, though simple.
