The property was in poor condition the room was tired and needed fresh paint. There was construction directly behind this property and was noisy with construction equipment and back up beepers from 7 am to 530 pm each day we were here.The pool had day beds with a duvet cover and should have been cleaned. Towels were provided and I would not sit on them without a barrier. The hot tub was boarddd up and closed to hotel guests, we did not know that was the situation but it has been closed for some time i would imagine due to the area being blocked off by sheets of plywood.

Took my daughters for a quick trip before school started. The staff was very nice, went out of their way to make our stay special. Nothing super fancy but The pools were fun and the grounds were nice. We’ll be back!

First attempt the room key didn’t work, second attempt there was a water leak in the bathroom. We finally received a decent room on the third attempt. Bikes were a great perk and location was decent. There is construction going on onsite and hot tub was out of service.

Quiet comfortable hotel with excellent mineral water outdoor pools of varying temperature, open until late (10-30 pm). Comfy bath robes and complementary coffee and pastries in the morning were a nice touch. The hotel also offers discounts for wine tastings at local wineries.

They upgraded my room. Staff very friendly. In the middle of a remodel so this is going to be a fantastic place when done. My room was all brand new so I suppose when full it could be a problem. One of the pools was under renovation but two other pools open so no biggie

One of the main reasons to go to Calistoga is to relax in the hot mineral water, which is what we’d always done there in the past. Unfortunately the jacuzzi wasn’t working…for the past year. We were told the other pools were hot, but they weren’t. Not very relaxing really. The room was nice and most of the staff was nice, except the person who checked me out when I was leaving. Kind of left me with an unwelcome feeling so I probably won’t go back too soon.

We used to frequent this adorable motel. Decor is awesome and the rooms are comfortable. But in the past 1.5 years, the rooms are rundown and general maintenance is overlooked. Our most recent trip the towel bar fell, the toilet paper holder was loose, there was a previous guests milk in the fridge, the toilet set looked worse for wear (it was clean but looked terrible), mildew on the shower tile and behind the sink, and the icing on the cake was a small streak of blood in a very obvious location on the sheets. We shared this feedback with the property, but were not compensated a dime for our poor experience (just a kind email). Not pleased by the invoice given our experience. Hyatt has higher standards than this. We were beyond disappointed by our recent (and last) experience at the Calistoga Motor Lodge.

We initially booked legacy room. Which we were very disappointed with it it looked like a motel slightly freshened up, Expedia really didn’t give a lot of pictures to show the room for legacy and are anticipations were not what it was . Possibly they need to show more pictures of the legacy room on the site. Luckily, the front desk upgraded us to an available deluxe room, which was very nice.!! The deluxe room was very comfortable and stylish and had all the accommodations needed. The only note I wanted to make for the deluxe room. The floors were not washed in the bathroom and were dirty!

We have stayed here at least five times in the past. While the pool and areas are all family friendly, and the rooms are fun and whimsical, we found that some rooms were not very clean (dirty, beat up floors) and the back camper style rooms looked out onto a super messy dumpster with construction materials laying around. It's an eyesore. Doesn't seem necessary to have that mess when people are paying so much for rooms - clean it up! A friend stayed in what might be a dog-friendly room and it wasn't clean and the floor was really bad. I think since Hyatt took over it's gone downhill.

I liked the property and decor. People were awesome. housekeeping around the property was lax. a glass with a straw and lemon slice stayed on the outside trash bin for 3 days before it was picked up. in contrast, when housekeeping came to delivery more TP they straightened up the room and made the beds which was nice to back to. i would stay there again. food was great

I have been coming to this hotel for a number of years. I enjoy my stay. This time my shower was really filthy all full of mold. I was afraid to step in it without a towel to lay down. The inside needs some repainting and the towels weren’t their usual soft striking white. Like any hotel over time there are items that need to be updated. I would hope this review will help target some of those areas. The staff is slate helpful and chipper. I just wasn’t completely satisfied with the cleanliness of my room this trip.

The property itself wasn’t bad but it was not as advertised. This is not a 4 star property in my opinion. I am on a 2-week roadtrip and stayed at properties of all classes. My 2 and 3 star hotel stays elsewhere exceeded my experience at Calistoga Motor Lodge. Our 4-star unit was outdated and has several marks and stains on the walls. The front door had a slight gap at the base, which allowed small bugs to get through. The first night I killed a sizable beetle crawling on the carpet. Service was also subpar: the night I checked in there was a massive line to check in because rooms were not yet cleaned or ready. Although my room was ready when I reached the front, I still had to wait in a line for over 30 mins just to check in. There was no acknowledgment by staff or management. I was advised that there would be complementary breakfast in the AM, but when I arrived in the lobby at 8:30am, there was no food, water or coffee. No one was at the desk for 40 mins and people who worked at the hotel completely ignored the guest who were waiting out front. I was advised later that morning that there would be no breakfast. When coffee was finally brought out, it tasted like salt water. We told staff of the issue; I was advised later that afternoon that maintenance refused to fix the issue with the water, so hot water was provided for tea only. Lastly, I booked the hotel because of the advertised sauna and steam room, but it was only for spa guests.

My stay was disappointing. Upon entering the restroom, I noticed ants near the toilet, and the wall with the coat hangers was dirty. In the corner of the room, there were spider webs with visible droppings. To make matters worse, there was no hot water in the morning for a shower. The Calistoga. Motor Lodge is definitely a good option if you are staying in Calistoga. We have stayed there several times. Although this time we noticed that it is starting to show its age. It could use a coat of paint and a little lift here and there. Our bathroom door had a hole in it for some reason (seemed to have had something there prior), some stains of some sort on the bathroom floor and a broken bathroom hook. This visit they did not tell us that their hot tub was under maintenance which was very disappointing to us as we were looking forward to this feature in particular. If we had known we would have probably selected a different location. The staff was very nice and helpful. The Fleetwood restaurant never disappoints. Everything we have ordered has been delicious. Definitely recommend the restaurant even if you are not staying at the hotel. Suggest to management to upgrade or upkeep the rooms. Notice that many rooms have been added to the property so maybe paying more attention to those rooms as opposed to the ground floor originals?

We had a nice stay, the rooms were a little outdated but cozy. The pool is nice and the bar was pretty cool with inside and outside bar seating. Parking was pretty easy. I enjoyed the complementary snacks and bottled water.

Love the spa, mineral pools. Restaurant is good. Quiet area. However, do not stay in the 100 or 200 (and maybe 300) level rooms: these seem to be refurbished structures form the original motel: paper thin walls, creaky floors, some trace o0f cigarette smoke from the years gone by. Insist on 400 or 500 or 600 or 700 rooms in newer 2 story buildings

We initially booked legacy room. Which we were very disappointed with it it looked like a motel slightly freshened up, Expedia really didn’t give a lot of pictures to show the room for legacy and are anticipations were not what it was . Possibly they need to show more pictures of the legacy room on the site. Luckily, the front desk upgraded us to an available deluxe room, which was very nice.!! The deluxe room was very comfortable and stylish and had all the accommodations needed. The only note I wanted to make for the deluxe room. The floors were not washed in the bathroom and were dirty!

We have stayed here many times under different names of this motel. Always enjoyed the location, mineral pools, and staff. Bonus was their bikes for rides around town, and their partnership with local wineries for tasting. They have just opened brand new rooms that look outstanding! We will be back!

Our main issue was that the room with the terrace faces directly to the door of the rooms of the building in front of us. Other buildings are much better in this sense. When we chose the room with a terrace and paid extra , we also saw the rating and price per night we expected some level of privacy. But unfortunately We had to keep the curtains closed all the time , and never used the terrace. It’s true that others might not mind , but for us it’s important to have our private space when it comes to having a drink at night or a coffee in the morning and we choose the terrace for that but we felt it was a bit misleading. We stayed in Napa before (many times) in more expensive places and cheaper places than this, I would say this place was our worst in this aspect of privacy. The place has amenities that might appeal to others, but for us this is the top experience we look for in Napa and unfortunately it was the worst we experienced.

Property is dated and you can hear right through the walls - like literally every word of the conversation of the folks next door. Shower has a ceiling mounted rain bird shower head only so your hair is getting wet whether you like it or not. All rooms front to the outside parking lot so if security is a concern for you, this is not the place. Cute kitschy design and soft beds, great pillows.

This property was nice. I came for a day trip and was able to get a massage and enjoy the pool and hot tub. I didn’t like the carpet in the bedroom and the shower was horrible. The shower head is above your head and unless you want to submerge your under the water there was no room to escape.

The staff and property was cute and convenient walk / bike to downtown area. Our room was next to a bunch of loud, drunk people that kept us up for a couple of hours. The team at the hotel tried to quiet them down and even removed the resort fee from our stay for the trouble.

The staff went above and beyond beginning with Luis who shared the wine partner list giving us an opportunity to plan our visits in the valley. The room was clean, comfortable, with robes and towels for the pools and spa tub. We enjoyed dining at Fleetwood, returning for a second night to try the well-reviewed pizza. Did not disappoint! This is a gem in Calistoga!

Our stay was great overall, especially the pool!!! However, there was a very embarrassing moment that should never have happened. We did our check-in, got our keys and when we entered the room assigned to us, that room was already occupied by other people. I went back to the front desk, they apologized and placed us in a different room. Could have offered an upgrade or a courtesy drink at the bar or something to make up for the embarrassment… but nothing. I opted to focus on having a good time, but the customer service after a mistake like this could have been better.

What a great experience. From check-in to departure, this place is A . We were upgraded to a king room overlooking pools and spa. The front desk staff was so pleasant and helpful. The restaurant On-site was excellent. Not one complaint! Best sleep at any hotel. We will be back.

The property itself wasn’t bad but it was not as advertised. This is not a 4 star property in my opinion. I am on a 2-week roadtrip and stayed at properties of all classes. My 2 and 3 star hotel stays elsewhere exceeded my experience at Calistoga Motor Lodge. Our 4-star unit was outdated and has several marks and stains on the walls. The front door had a slight gap at the base, which allowed small bugs to get through. The first night I killed a sizable beetle crawling on the carpet. Service was also subpar: the night I checked in there was a massive line to check in because rooms were not yet cleaned or ready. Although my room was ready when I reached the front, I still had to wait in a line for over 30 mins just to check in. There was no acknowledgment by staff or management. I was advised that there would be complementary breakfast in the AM, but when I arrived in the lobby at 8:30am, there was no food, water or coffee. No one was at the desk for 40 mins and people who worked at the hotel completely ignored the guest who were waiting out front. I was advised later that morning that there would be no breakfast. When coffee was finally brought out, it tasted like salt water. We told staff of the issue; I was advised later that afternoon that maintenance refused to fix the issue with the water, so hot water was provided for tea only. Lastly, I booked the hotel because of the advertised sauna and steam room, but it was only for spa guests.

We loved this hotel, it’s walking distance into calistoga which is a very sweet town with lots of lovely restaurants and wine bars. The surrounding views from the hotel is gorgeous. The room was lovely. The staff were very friendly and welcoming and helpful. We enjoyed the warm pool. Overall a great stay.

We stayed two nights and really enjoyed the stay . Town was within walking distance . A half mile away . There was a bakery with coffee and crumpets open very early ; ). And restaurants as well as a local grocery store . Beautiful town all the way around . And would highly recommend anyone going there .

Unfortunately, we got food poisoning from an iced coffee we purchased from the bar. We had planned an anniversary getaway for the weekend and sadly spent out only night there in our hotel room sick. The property is gorgeous and staff are wonderful. I recommend them lowering their currently nightly rate as the whirlpool is being worked on and out of service. The bathrooms at the pool could’ve been cleaner. There was also no shower gel in our suite.

The property itself wasn’t bad but it was not as advertised. This is not a 4 star property in my opinion. I am on a 2-week roadtrip and stayed at properties of all classes. My 2 and 3 star hotel stays elsewhere exceeded my experience at Calistoga Motor Lodge. Our 4-star unit was outdated and has several marks and stains on the walls. The front door had a slight gap at the base, which allowed small bugs to get through. The first night I killed a sizable beetle crawling on the carpet. Service was also subpar: the night I checked in there was a massive line to check in because rooms were not yet cleaned or ready. Although my room was ready when I reached the front, I still had to wait in a line for over 30 mins just to check in. There was no acknowledgment by staff or management. Room was large and well appointed, with lovely design details and thoughtful amenities (such as multiple design-driven power outlets placed throughout the room). Staff was lovely, restaurant was really good. Have stayed in many properties in this area, and would definitely bump this to the top of our recommendations list! For travellers’ context, would compare to The Hotel San Jose in Austin or The Clayton in Denver.

We had an amazing overnight stay! The grounds were clean and peaceful. Hotel staff was very friendly and helpful. Bedding and rooms were clean and comfortable. We can’t wait to come back our next vacation to Calistoga.

Wanted coffee but didn't want to sit and read directions on how to prepare a cup in my room. Had to go to office to find where breakfast was being served to buy coffee. I expected to see a small coffee area where it was already prepared. Breakfast was good. Surprised that I had to pay for breakfast as I thought it would be included with the price I had paid for the room.

One other comment. Is that for a hotel of this caliber and amenities the hot tub should definitely be outside and not in an indoor building. This has been a comment I’ve heard from many of my friends who stay at the resort from time to time. Also, the bathrooms are very poorly located and should at least have access from both the adult and children’s pool areas.
