Really nice place to stay with picturesque grounds and excellent leisure centre. A great location close to Dunfermline and Edinburgh. Food we had was good quality

No toilet roll in bathroom. No rail to hang them on, just beside the sink. Cannot charge drinks to your room. Seems the owners only sell the rooms, and another company does the catering. Breakfast was poor with a large urn of pre-made tea, who knows how long it was in there for. very unimprerssed with overall feel of the place.

First need to say the hotel's in a transition period after being taken over recently so presuming that is the reason for majority of the issues. The main reason I booked her was that it had a steam room and restaurant on site. We only found out when going over the the health suite that the steam room was out of order. When I spoke to the receptionist the next day, she was unaware that it was. The room was lovely & spacious & had a very comfortable bed and apart from the steam room being shut the rest of the health suite was really good. It would have been good to be able to find out when the lady was there to do spa treatments without having to actually go across to the health suite to find out. The main issue was to do with the restaurant, before heading to the health suite I popped into the restaurant to ask for a menu(had already asked twice during the day and was told it wasn't ready yet). The young man gave me a menu & I asked if we needed to book and he looked around and said no you will be fine. We went to the health suite, then went to the restaurant which was very quiet & were told that if we hadn't booked then we couldn't eat there as the 'chef is feeling overwhelmed'. This was very disappointing not to be told this either when I checked in or when I asked earlier in the restaurant. This meant that we then had to drive to try and find somewhere else to eat, luckily the barman gave us a good recommendation of another hotel locally, which was appreciated. Breakfast ok

Clean rooms, we stayed in room 120, a family room. There was constant noise from about 3am to 5:30 ish, not sure what it was but it was industrial like whirring etc… apart from that nice place to stay.
