I have to give kudos to the maintenance and grounds teams as Maui Sunset. They work non stop to make sure the pool area , BBQ's and the lawn are immaculate . Not just once a day...everyday.

The outside areas were well maintained. Nice pool/hot tub area.

The condo is cozy and the property is gorgeous, but some of the amenities are dated. Managers were very friendly and helpful, and there's plenty of parking. Would stay here again when i visit Maui again

Parking was good. There are a lot of parking spots that you can park in front of the property. It’s a little outdated and maybe need a little of TLC and update. The view was perfect. The beach and amenities are just in front of the condo. The only downside was cleanliness. I was told the property was not ready yet bc they are cleaning but I still saw lizard “poops” on top of the counter, floor and beside the fridge. It was so visible. I was able to sweep it but the expectation of they cleaned it was so disappointing.

Pros: Beautiful view, well maintained property, great location with access to activities and restaurants while right on a fairly quiet beach, kitchen was well equipped for a rental, Wi-fi worked well Cons: The construction noise while we were there was intermittently insanely load, the beds are small, the pool is full sunrise to sunset

The unit was clean, accessible and had pretty much everything we would need and more. Nice lanai balcony to hang out and right on the beach, which was super Convenient. Close to lots of shopping and restaurants. Location was a perfect midpoint to explore the island from all directions while still being in the best place on Maui, which is Kihei in my opinion. Price was very reasonable and had a nice pool and hot tub, tennis courts, shuffleboard, workout room and a huge park area for me and my son to play catch and run around which was great. Been to several other places on Kihei, which were nice as well, but didn’t have the amenities that Maui sunset did. Highly recommend

Beautiful property and grounds. The pool was very nice along with live music on Tuesdays. We even enjoyed games of shuffleboard. Very short walk to a nice beach. Quiet and we had everything we needed. We definitely will come back and stay again.

Just as described. Great property right next to beach. Beautiful pool, tennis courts, amd large grass area. Would definitely stay here again.

At the pool, you can rent tennis and pickle ball racquets.

Our condo was wonderful. Dishes pots and pans and supplies were very generous in number. The view of the ocean and view of the gardens was breathtaking. We had 2 maintenance issues and the maintenance crew showed up within 5 minutes of our call. The pool area and grounds are well maintained. Our communication with the facility went well. One area I think needs attention is the gym. It is so small that even 4 to 5 people are too confined. The gym was too hot and the average temperature was between 81 to 85. We all commented that the air conditioner wasn't working and it needed to be cleaner. Beautiful property and I am highly recommending.

The property is quite nice, some of the areas are outdated and could use some updating like the appliances. We did have ants but maintenance helped us out. Property was a bit dirty/dusty when we arrived so more thorough cleaning could be done. We were missing some kitchen items but the team delivered after we let them know. Very relaxing location. Sunsets never disappoint. Not sure if there is a difference in experience because we rented a timeshare unit.

Overall I’d rate my experience a 3.5-4 out of 5. The location was quite central in Kihei, access to a pool and beach. The condo could use a deep clean, new bedding, and some more basic items such as garbage bags, paper towel etc. The condo grounds and bbqs are nicely maintained. My biggest suggestion is just a more comprehensive clean of the apartment.

This place could not be further than what they advertised. While some of the units have been updated and taken care of, ours was not at all. My family and I arrived later in the day on our trip to what we thought was going to be a nice unit based on the reviews. However, we realized that our unit hadn’t been updated in decades, windows were filthy, curtains covered in black and brown spots. Every surface dirty. Mirrors and even the lamps stained and gross. Almost every one of the very few utensils, cups and dinnerware were dirty with food stuck on them, old food crumbs in drawers and cabinets that smelled, blankets stained and or missing sheets, filthy floors where your socks, if white, became a new shade of brown. Backed up shower drain. Dryer handle pulls off in your hand and the drum smells of vomit. It took us some time to contact the “concierge” due to having 4 young kids, one who was having a birthday to lodge our complaints. From there it got even better. They said they would get housekeeping then they followed up saying never mind housekeeping isn’t coming we can refund you $100, which really doesn’t go far for the discomfort and money spent forced to eat out for all meals. This condo actually ruined our vacation and caused so much stress. We said that was unacceptable and their response was to imply that it couldn’t be determined if we were the cause of the unit being so poor. Save your money and go somewhere else to save your vacation.

We enjoyed our stay. Grounds and pool are very well tended. Our unit was very tired and needed a deep clean. But the beds, pillows, linens and towels were very good. The A/C wall unit in the living room struggles to keep the space comfortable. I informed the property and hopefully they will replace it. The dedicated lap swimming in the morning is wonderful otherwise it’s overrun with kids even during the non-spring break time window. Good location and very close to Azeka Shopping Center with lots of good food, a local grocery store and other shopping nearby. We would stay again but book in the B building to have a shaded lanai which would have improved our stay tremendously. Kihei is a fun, safe community to visit.

Disgusting experience - would give it a zero if I could. Grimy, dirty, dust and hair EVERYWHERE. No phone, or WiFi and spent ages making international calls trying to reach someone. Terrible management approach. We had to check out and find somewhere else to stay. Would not recommend at all.

Reviewer Comments: Let me start by saying that this is the fourth time I have stayed at Maui Sunset and the first time I've had to complain, and it is all about the condo! I did take pictures, but I wasn't able to upload them. Kitchen/Laundry area: The stainless steel appliances are very dirty, the laundry area needs cleaning, and the washing machine sounds like a jet taking off! The recessed lights are very dirty. Bathroom not master: The shower rod fell off and can not be reattached; it is too old and deteriorated. The baseboards and air conditioners throughout the whole unit are very dirty. The curtains are dirty and torn.We decided to stay. This was a short stay and close to family. On a positive note, there are new bamboo cabinets in the kitchen, which are beautiful but sadly seem out of place compared to the rest of the condo.

Convenient location. Kitchen was very nice. Our unit had all the furnishings we needed. Having two full bathrooms was very convenient. Swimming pool was very nice. Balcony had a great view of the courtyard and ocean.

Good location , beach is not for kids to play because there is a lot of rocks :-(, condo is outdated but in a good location. Ac unit turns off every 4 hours and that is annoying to be waking up and turn all the 3 units during the night.

Our family enjoyed a four night stay here. The property is beautiful. I liked the murphy beds which were a good use of space in the living room. The condo is very convenient on the first floor and has everything you need provided. The bedroom is small but comfortable and is next to the parking lot and outer walkway with a sliding glass door that’s concealed with drapes. Sometimes people were loud in this parking lot during the night and you could hear them talking and yelling. That is the only minor thing that was an issue.

Horrible place, wasted two days of my precious Hawaiian vacation, suffered through the night at this outdated dirty property, with AC in the wall barely blowing any cool air, plus it is plugged in through a timer with max 4 hours, so it shuts down in the middle of the night, you have to get up to set it again. Dirt in bathroom, wall is taped with duck tape, kitchen terrible shape, stove smells when turned on, fridge was not cleaned. Hotel refused to refund.

Condo was on top floor which meant great view. AC is very old and condo never really cooled off. There is basics to get by in room, but if you are staying a while- you will need to buy everything- laundry soap, shampoo, spices for cooking - everything. Wifi never worked and no instructions. Pool was nice and deep which is great for adults Great location central on island. Beach is shallow but ok. Closer to Keihi than Lahania Good communication from management And was kind about us being a bit late on check out. There were ants in kitchen so don’t leave any food out for more than hour. Water pressure is low so two showers at once or two appliances etc make it slow going. Had to turn off dishwasher to shower

The property does not allow you to turn their air conditioning units any lower than 72 degrees. This was not cool enough to cool off the unit and we ended up purchasing a fan.

Condo was great size for family of four. Two nice size bedrooms, and two bath. As with many of the condos here in Maui, definitely needed some maintenance completed And a good deep cleaning. The pool and surrounding grounds of the property were absolutely pristine. Location fantastic to get to all parts of the island.

This is an older complex, so no central AC, instead noisier individual AC units for each condo - some of them looked atrocious. The property pool was nice and clean - and was cleaned every morning! The property lawns were beautiful! Nice palm trees, birds chirping. Would be completely peaceful if it weren't for the AC noise. Note that the beach in front of the property is completely unusable for swimming: the ocean floor is covered with sharp rocks! - learned from experience. So, one has to drive to a beach, which was a small negative, since there are several beaches nearby. This is a condo complex, so your mileage will vary, dependent on the unit. We stayed at unit A212. There was a boogie board and beach chairs in the closet, which was a nice touch. On the negative side, the bed pillows and, especially, the linen were absolutely terrible - polyester in humid Hawaii clumate is very uncomfortable! We saw one roach-like insect inside the unit, which according to what we heard is not unexpected in this climate.

We stayed in 318 A .Well equipped and maintained - tastefully decorated and perfect for our family of five. Plenty of room and everything you need for a comfortable stay.

There is no beach to walk on the building was very old and dated. The furniture was uncomfortable as was the bed.

I absolutely loved Maui Sunset. The property is so well maintained. Everyone is nice. Check in and check out was quick and easy. The beach is perfect for walking on the beach, watching people surf and fish. Our condo was great, perfect for the three of us. Wonderful view of the ocean. The pool is wonderful, we enjoyed it twice a day. And the location is perfect, near shopping, activities and dining. Thank you for a wonderful stay.

Loved my stay at this property. I would definitely stay here again. Friendly staff and property was gorgeous! I actually loved the accommodations. We had the fortunate experience of seeing sea turtles down the beach from the property. Safe and affordable. We had a water alarm go off during our stay under the bathroom vanity next to the kitchen. I called maintenance and they responded promptly to my voice message. Maintenance made sure to come back to check in on the issue. My only feedback was the cleanliness of the room when we arrived and the washing machine. There was a chocolate candy bar on the floor under the kitchen cabinet and also a chocolate cookie in the cabinet where the trash was. These things of course do happen but good to give a once over in the kitchen area before new tenants arrive to avoid roaches or ants. We did not realize the washer didn’t work until after I purchased laundry detergent and towards the end of the trip. Maybe the water was turned off due to the other issue? Not the worst thing and I did not report it I’m sure if I had, it would have been resolved. This is truly a family friendly condo association and if you have a vehicle, it is close to everything you need/want. I would recommend Maui Sunsets to any family traveling. Thank you Maui Sunset!

Property is great but it was difficult to get a hold of the rental team when we wanted to rent body boards. Ran into the same issue when it was time to return them. No one was there.

The only negative about our stay was a water leak in the master bathroom, which we reported to the maintenance folks on the first day of arrival. Nobody ever called us about the issue and nobody came to check on the issue

Very nice property. Wonderful apparent A514. After ours service not going to help in case your door code won’t work after 8 pm before your check out next day. Help might be just in the morning.

A Wonderful Stay at Maui Sunset! We had an amazing time at the Maui Sunset condos. The unit was clean, comfortable, and well-equipped, with a huge balcony overlooking the pool, beautiful grounds, and the beach—a perfect spot to relax and watch the sunset. We met the most wonderful people at the pool and hot tub from all over the world, and even exchanged contact info with some who we hope will become lifelong friends. The staff was incredibly kind and helpful, making us feel right at home. We felt very safe throughout our stay, even allowing our kids to explore the grounds on their own. If we ever return to Maui, Maui Sunset will definitely be our first choice!

The washing machine in our unit started billowing smoke out of the closet. It was just before 8pm and I wasn't able to reach anyone on property grounds for assistance until the following day. They have an after hrs phone tree that sends you in circles to people who can't/won't assist. We had to pack up and moved to a different unit only to find it had a cockroach and fly (dead flies everywhere) issue. Hospitality was not at the top of the list for staff members as they all had a "not my job" attitude when we needed assistance. There was a large number of MAGA supporters staying there boasting their political stance via paraphernalia etc. It was ugly and made for an uncomfortable experience.

Great condo within easy Uber or driving distance from everything. Beautiful grounds and pool. Quiet. Only two issues: the bedroom mirror came off the wall one night. Next morning the maintenance man came right away. Also showed him that our patio door needed lock fixed. He was very nice and also showed us how to use the tv, which had been a bit of a problem. Cleaners were great. Everyone very friendly. Felt quite safe there and had pretty much everything we needed. Had a great stay!

Loved Maui Sunsets location and well kept pool and hot tube. The best part was it was actually beach front with incredible sunsets and sunrises. They communicated with us and worked it out to check in a little early on our first day. Thank you and we will be back to stay with you.

Nice condo on the beach and next to a park. Centrally located for easy access to many activities. Well managed and maintained property.

It’s in a great location near stores and restaurants, close to great beaches. The property has so many convenient things we thought we’d have to buy or bring (tennis gear, sand toys, beach chairs, umbrella, boogie boards, etc.). The kitchen is well stocked too. They keep the property really clean and they’re easy to work with.

Property was excellent. The community needs to put in sidewalks because although restaurants, shopping etc are all within easy walk you are forced to walk along busy poorly lit roads.

The condo is clean and has an ocean view. It overlooks the pool and a beautiful lawn area. The location is just down the street from restaurants, shopping and beaches.

Beautiful and centrally located.

Our family of 5 stayed at Maui Sunset on our first trip to Maui. It was perfect for our needs, the one bedroom with pull out and Murphy bed fit us just right. Only down side was that it’s not super close to all the shops and restaurants but we had a rental car so it wasn’t an issue.

That was my first time staying in Maui I did a Google research and went through all reviews and pictures. I have decided to stay at Maui Sunset and didn’t regret . The area is very quiet and beautiful with a pool and beautiful views of sunset and sunrise. My condo was a pretty good and clean . No complaints . Also the area is very convenient to everything including a bus station right across the street. Overall I enjoyed my staying and next time when I’m in Maui I will book this place again . Only one thing I would change to have an option to store my carry on before late flight . Unfortunately, there is no room for your luggage after check out
