Convenient to walk to Echo Point instead of $12 per hour street parking. More than adequate accommodation, very clean. Relying on mobile phone contact to check in is not ideal when travelling, but worked out ok.

Alles, was man für eine Nacht zum übernachten braucht.Eher besser als gedacht. Obwohl an der Straße, nachts erstaunlich ruhig. Optimale Lage in der Nähe der three Sisters. Besonders cool: der kostenlose Parkplatz (sonst im Ort 12,50 $ pro Stunde) Nette Betreuung per Gegensprechanlage, obwohl niemand vor Ort, völlig ausreichend Einziges Manko: zwei Tassen und zwei kleine Löffel als Ausstattung. Da hätten wir uns (bei vorhandenem Kühlschrank, Mikrowelle und Wasserkocher) doch noch zwei Teller und zwei Messer gewünscht… Sonst aber sehr zufrieden

The room was ready earlier than check-in time. Access to our 2nd level room was via exterior stairs. We were unable to get an Uber or a taxi from the site, so we used the Explorer bus, which we caught at Echo Point, several blocks away, to get our luggage to and from the train station.

Fabulous place. The no-contact checkin was a great idea, very smoothly done. Room was clean and comfortable. Location was brilliant, you can leave your car at the motel and just walk to the hiking tracks. Already planning my next stay!

Very well organized and easy check-in instructions as well as an easy access to parking. Hotel/Motel is walking distance to most tourists' attractions and restaurants is a plus.

Was a lovely location. A shame there was no laundry room at the property and did find the room a bit cramped. But overall was clean and tidy.

Checkin was easy and quick. Onsite parking was a bonus and walking distance to the 3 sisters. Apartment had heating and extra bedding. Would definitely stay again

3 Explorers Motel is our preferred stay in Katoomba .... and have stayed many times. You will note COUNCIL PAID PARKING everywhere .... but just park your car in 3 Explorers for FREE.... and walk down to 3 Sisters ... or round to Scenic World ... or up to RSL, Canton Palace, Carrington Hotel et all. Local Bus stop right out front ... great if you walk cliff top walk to Leura .... and catch train then bus back. 3 Explorers Motel rooms nice and cosy ... including Heated Bed warmers and great A/C heating. Hot shower with great pressure. Big TICK from us .... again !!!

Not sure how this motel got positive reviews. We could easily hear the next door room take a shower or go to the bathroom! There was mold on the shower door, half an inch of dust on the moulding behind the bed ( clearly visible). The fridge was filled with water at the bottom. The carpet and the whole room was like a dated motel. Nothing justifying the price. No one was present and everything was remote if you needed support. Other customers had issues with their room as well while we were there Katoomba seems to have a few of those old motels, go a bit farther away and get a descent hotel or motel…

Above all I found my four night stay great value for money. Everything was in good working order. Nice hot shower clean. The room was cleaned daily and bed made. Kettle, fridge/freezer, microwave, wifi. Added to this was a great location just 5mins walk to the cableway east station and hop on hop off bus stop. The walk into town was only 10/15mins too. Will recommend.

I cannot rate the 3 explorers motel highly enough. It was immaculately clean. Bed linen was crisp and white and towels were lively and fluffy. It had everything you could need including, microwave, tea and coffee plus milk and sugar. An ironing board and a hair dryer plus toiletries and shower caps. You can walk to the Three sisters and Echo point and enjoy the walking trails through the blue mountains. Thank you 3 Explorers motel for a wonderful stay.

There were no hosts attending the reception and everything done via email telling you how to access room. So although this is convenient for some it's lacking in real hospitality. Even had a blackout one evening for two and a half hours but couldn't contact anybody and we weren't even emailed to give a reason or explanation as to whether it was the whoke area or just our motel. The room was dusty all behind and at sides of bed, under the seating also. Bathroom had peeling paint/wallpaper and the sink area around taps were grimy I cleaned that myself. The furniture was old and had old water mark stains everywhere. So overall I wasn't very happy really. I know it was a budget motel but I would have expected better cleanliness and being able to actually speak to someone. I wouldn't recommend this motel.

There was a microwave but no plates or cutlery to eat our food with. We had to buy paper plates and cutlery. I have travelled widely and have never posted a negative review but i will not recommend this motel to anyonr It was advertised as superior new rooms but ours was anything but. I booked this accommodation on 21st August and i feel i must have got the worst room.

Loved: close to Echo Point & public transport, onsite parking, lovely staff, great price, microwave, opposite the Chocolate Factory Disliked: noisy a/c fans, iced up freezer box, dated interior and decor, sagging mattresses. Despite some areas that we weren't too happy with, the location trumps them all, so we woll visit again

Charming little apartment very close to the sights, like Echo Point, the night walk, and the eastern departure from Scenic World. It’s a bit further to downtown but it’s right on the bus line and not a bad walk in any case. It took a bit to figure out the heater but once we did it worked fine; the beds had heaters which the kids loved!

We stayed here with a family of four and absolutely LOVED it. The family room we had was huge, actually had enough room for a table we could all sit around in the middle of the room. Bathroom and shower were great. Loved the touch less service, made it feel like our own place. The best thing though was the amazing location within a short walk to Echo point and the amazing cliff top trails.

Thos motel was a good find and is very convenient for the Blue mountains as the three sisters is only a 10minute walk away. The staff were amazingly helpful in letting us check in slightly early and the room was clean and well presented. If you don't have a car there aren't many eateries nearby so you would need to walk into town which is 10-15 minutes. But the location is perfect for watching sunrise/ sunset at the blue mountains and we would definitely stay again.

This is our 4th stay at the 3 Explorers and have always enjoyed it. Received a text to say that the room was available and unlocked avoiding contact which saved any one waiting around for us to arrive.

It took a bit to figure out the heater but once we did it worked fine; the beds had heaters which the kids loved!

V comfy, spacious & clean room. Location is quiet & a short walk from Echo Point & the Three Sisters, with a bus stop only 1 min away which takes you right into Katoomba town shops & the train station. Excellent restaurants & cafes on the main street in Katoomba with a wide variety of food.

Above all I found my four night stay great value for money. Everything was in good working order. Nice hot shower clean. The room was cleaned daily and bed made. Kettle, fridge/freezer, microwave, wifi. Added to this was a great location just 5mins walk to the cableway east station and hop on hop off bus stop. The walk into town was only 10/15mins too. Will recommend.

Loved: close to Echo Point & public transport, onsite parking, lovely staff, great price, microwave, opposite the Chocolate Factory Disliked: noisy a/c fans, iced up freezer box, dated interior and decor, sagging mattresses. Despite some areas that we weren't too happy with, the location trumps them all, so we woll visit again

One Night Stay, Complex is Old and Small, Ground Floor Rooms. There is No one at the Reception, the Keys were in the Rooms. The only thing they did not provide was Plates, Bowls, cutlery for breakfast. Within Walking Distance to the Lookouts of the Blue Mountains and the Three Sisters.

Alles, was man für eine Nacht zum übernachten braucht.Eher besser als gedacht. Obwohl an der Straße, nachts erstaunlich ruhig. Optimale Lage in der Nähe der three Sisters. Besonders cool: der kostenlose Parkplatz (sonst im Ort 12,50 $ pro Stunde) Nette Betreuung per Gegensprechanlage, obwohl niemand vor Ort, völlig ausreichend Einziges Manko: zwei Tassen und zwei kleine Löffel als Ausstattung. Da hätten wir uns (bei vorhandenem Kühlschrank, Mikrowelle und Wasserkocher) doch noch zwei Teller und zwei Messer gewünscht… Sonst aber sehr zufrieden

Great place to stay and lay your head while visiting the Blue Mountains. No restaurant on site but supplied with a microwave and kettle it is easy to make yourself something quick to eat of not wanting to visit a nearby cafe. My only conplaint is that at 6minutes past checkout time we were hurried along by the cleaner telling us we were past check out - i mean 6 minutes come on.

This place needs a major fix up. Ripped moldy curtains, spider webs everywhere. Very tired and rundown. No reception as the setup is your room is open and key is on the bed.

This is our 4th stay at the 3 Explorers and have always enjoyed it. Received a text to say that the room was available and unlocked avoiding contact which saved any one waiting around for us to arrive.
