The quaint nature of the hotel, set beneath the vineyards along a winding road through a well-tended wine village is certainly worth mentioning. We ate at the hotel's restaurant and ordered white wine from grapes whose vines were within sight, perhaps a couple hundred yards above? Only hesitation regarding the property? It's been very hot this week and without air conditioning, one must sleep with the windows open and/or decide whether the ambiant noise of the diners below or the loud whirr of the room's fan is going to be the most distracting. Bring earplugs and you should be just fine!

Having visited Durbach before my 2 kids and I decided to have a 2 night stop at this Hotel... Check in very friendly and efficient.. Parking was easy.. Breakfast was simpler than some hotels but nevertheless good quality. The appartement we stayed in was comfortable and spacious.. Lovely views.. We ate a the restaurant one night.. Choice was huge but quality was high.. Prices a bit on the high side but the quantity and taste compensated for this.. Grear choice of local wine.. Lovely atmosphere... Plus point for the hotel is the central location in the village and being next to the lovely, local swimming pool (free entry with guest card)..... Overall I would recommend this hotel and Durbach as a base for hiking/biking or general tourist costs to the area..
