Squeaky clean, warm, delightful old English charmed building in excellent condition throughout! Food is excellent, well presented and super tasty!!! A short walk opposite the property takes you to the most charming of Yorkshire market towns Howes. We will be back!!!! Great job to the whole team at Stonehouse Hotel

A lovely restful stay. Room was clean and comfortable. Staff were helpful and very friendly. Food was amazing and they catered wonderfully for our gluten and lactose problems. Good bar and there are two sitting rooms, one with a small billiard table in. There are two electric charging points in the car park (7KWh). The area has amazing walks, including a 1 mile walk to Hawes.

Staff were all very welcoming. Nothing too much trouble. Clean room and bathroom. Dining was excellent, lovely choice of menu which changed daily. Lots of rooms to relax and have drinks etc before dining. Views were exceptional throughout the hotel. Good outside seating and gardens.

Excellent as usual. Room, food, service all first class. Nothing too much trouble. Lovely historic building well looked after. Peaceful and cosy. Conservatory rooms are delightful whatever the weather. Excellent outdoor seating in well-kept garden.

From arrival to departure the hotel staff were so friendly and helpful. Our room was very clean, cosy and great choice of refreshments. A fridge with fresh milk in the corridor was a nice extra. Great view over the dales. We had a beautiful meal on the evening and retired to the drawing room open fire with our drinks. At Breakfast the quality local produced was excellent. We will definitely be back.

A five star property and staff — some of the best food we’ve ever had traveling, and here it is in the Yorkshire Dales! Friendly, helpful staff to a person, every shift, every position. The historic manor house buildings are beautiful, tastefully updated to allow a glass-walled dining wing that looks out over the rolling green hills. It’s a stunning setting. The bedroom is the only shortcoming. Peer facilities might offer visitors pillows of various stiffness to accommodate different sleepers’ preferences. Stone House provides two different pillow textures — granite and oak. I exaggerate only a little. They have the hardest, least comfortable pillows of any facility we’ve ever visited. Sleep was rocky, in a word. The mattress is sub-par, and the double bed too small for the price (the room could allow a Queen or King). The bathroom light is a terrible cold white color. Someone should visit similar places and compare their bedroom facilities to what’s offered at Stone House, and bring those bedrooms up to the superb quality of the dining, staff, and environment.

Hotel was in a beautiful location and a great venue. Staff were very helpful and friendly. Room had everything that was required. Excellent breakfast, dinner menu could maybe be updated in terms of the meal choices and a little pricey but very tasty and prompt service. Overall, I would definitely return to this hotel.

A really beautiful hotel in a gorgeous location with extremely friendly staff members. The room was comfortable and spacious although the bathroom is perhaps a little dated now and the shower quite a squeeze (even for a size 12 woman) but having a bath was much appreciated. Our evening meal was good, though not exceptional but nothing to complain about. We were disappointed that the answer to our question as to whether we could have porridge without salt was a very firm 'no' but it was a nice change to have breakfast served to the table instead of the 'free for all' that is the more common breakfast buffet bar nowadays. All in all highly recommended.

Hotel was in a beautiful location and a great venue. Staff were very helpful and friendly. Room had everything that was required. Excellent breakfast, dinner menu could maybe be updated in terms of the meal choices and a little pricey but very tasty and prompt service. Overall, I would definitely return to this hotel.

I visited with my disabled husband for his birthday treat. The minute we went through the doors we were treated like royalty. Nothing was too much trouble. The staff were amazing! Thank you all for making our stay so special! The food was incredible too!

A really beautiful hotel in a gorgeous location with extremely friendly staff members. The room was comfortable and spacious although the bathroom is perhaps a little dated now and the shower quite a squeeze (even for a size 12 woman) but having a bath was much appreciated. Very clean. Great food and a decent bar. 7kW EV chargers. Very easy walk to the Green Dragon pub and Hardraw Force after dinner. Low carb options a bit lacking if you’re diabetic or doing a keto diet but that’s normal and I guess demand is low.

From arrival to departure the hotel staff were so friendly and helpful. Our room was very clean, cosy and great choice of refreshments. A fridge with fresh milk in the corridor was a nice extra. Great view over the dales. We had a beautiful meal on the evening and retired to the drawing room open fire with our drinks. At Breakfast the quality local produced was excellent. We will definitely be back.

A five star property and staff — some of the best food we’ve ever had traveling, and here it is in the Yorkshire Dales! Friendly, helpful staff to a person, every shift, every position. The historic manor house buildings are beautiful, tastefully updated to allow a glass-walled dining wing that looks out over the rolling green hills. It’s a stunning setting. The bedroom is the only shortcoming. Peer facilities might offer visitors pillows of various stiffness to accommodate different sleepers’ preferences. Stone House provides two different pillow textures — granite and oak. I exaggerate only a little. They have the hardest, least comfortable pillows of any facility we’ve ever visited. Sleep was rocky, in a word. The mattress is sub-par, and the double bed too small for the price (the room could allow a Queen or King). The bathroom light is a terrible cold white color. Someone should visit similar places and compare their bedroom facilities to what’s offered at Stone House, and bring those bedrooms up to the superb quality of the dining, staff, and environment.

Picture postcard hotel. We had a garden room which was tastefully decorated and being able to sit in our own conservatory was great but the hotel had a bar and snug which were also lovely spaces. Beautiful garden with stunning views over to Hawes and it was just so peaceful to sit out there. The staff were all so friendly and helpful. Fantastic breakfast and we also had dinner in the hotel and this was beautifully presented and delicious.

We had a very enjoyable stay at the Stone House Hotel, from checking in to checking out the entire staff were so helpful and friendly. The breakfasts were cooked to order which is so much better than having a buffet. The dinners were superb, each night it was difficult to choose. Special mention needs to go to the beef cheek and Yorkshire pudding as a starter. Nice walk into Hawes to visit the Wensleydale Creamery and Dales museum as well as some nice local shops. After walking back up the hill to the hotel then sitting in the garden with a drink and enjoying the views was just so relaxing.
