A small extension to our holiday so we chose Coopmanhuijs and it did not disappoint. A lovely room overlooking the pool, extremely clean and the service was fabulous & friendly. Highly recommend both the hotel & Helena’s Restaurant.

Unfortunately, our room had two outside walls one was on the outside dining area, and the other was on the pool area. It was not peaceful nor private. Load shedding was unfortunately terrible and we got no sleep due to the fact that this hotel does not have A generator and the air conditioning was out for several hours during sleeping hours. I found it very strange that you would have to walk through the dining room and the outside dining area to get to the pool. Everything was very tight and awkward.

An outstanding hotel where you are made to feel like royalty from the moment you arrive. That entails free courtesy parking which, given how busy Church Street is, was most welcome. Our room was spacious and our bathroom huge, we've had smaller bedrooms. Everything you could reasonably want was provided in the room , which was immaculate. We ate in the restaurant twice. The first time our main course was lamb shank, which simply fell off the bone, accompanied by an excellent local merlot. On the second night we ate off the "set" menu, there were at least three choices for each course, with matching wines served in generous glasses. I had wonderfully tender ostrich steak and my wife Kingklip. There was an extensive breakfast buffet with fresh fruit, cooked meats and cheese. There were also a range of hot options. My eggs florentine were particularly good. The best feature of the hotel was the staff who were unfailing friendly and helpful. Nothing was too much trouble for anyone and they were always happy to help you. We would genuinely think about going back to Stellenbosch just to stay here again.

First Class Service from the second you walk into the hotel. The staff are exceptionally well trained and operate as a real team in every aspect. World Class ! The location is perfect for walking around Stellenbosch. Although parking is limited outside, the hotel’s concierge/valet service is excellent. Food in the hotel at Helena’s on the patio and breakfast inside was also easy and very yummy ! Rooms and amenities fabulous. This is 5 Star everywhere.

Coopmanhuijs was a wonderful location for our stay. The staff was phenomenal and willing to help with any of our needs. We had breakfast every morning and the food was excellent. All of downtown Stellenbosch was easily walkable and safe from the hotel. My room was very comfortable with an amazing bathroom with heated floors. The hotel also has a backup generator so load shedding is never an issue.

Everything was perfect, from the beginning with communication and organizing a spa visit and half day wine tour. The staff was amazing and took care of everything with great care. From check in to check out everything was perfect . The food was off the charts and they even made accommodations to allow us an early breakfast due to an early flight from Cape Town By far one of the best places to stay and highly recommended

Vi hadde et helt fantastisk opphold på dette hotellet! Det ligger veldig sentralt i Stellenbosch, så det er lett å rusle rundt til butikker og restauranter. Selve hotellet er veldig sjarmerende, nydelig service og deilige rom. Personlig satte jeg pris på det lille bassenget - perfekt for en liten svømmetur både ettermiddag og morgen. Vi spiste også middag på hotellet som var helt nydelig!

We enjoyed our stay in Coopmanhuijs. The location was perfect right in middle of shops and restaurants. The room was on the small side but very comfortable. Complimentary breakfast was very good. Besides a good buffet spread, they also served an a la carte warm main. All the choices were excellent. Restaurant in the hotel was also very good. We had dinner one night and enjoyed it very much. Service was amazing. Reception, bell, housekeeping and F&B staff were all fantastic. Valet parking was complimentary. Neil who parked our car and carried our bags was very efficient and friendly. Jonathan at the front office was very helpful and thoughtful. Everyone was just nice!

Great location , friendly staff , very clean however luxury room had old shaky windows hardly any sound insulation between the rooms or floors making it very hard to sleep . Our room directly above the residence lounge made you think they were in your room ! Unfortunately we wouldn’t return to this hotel

Wir buchten ein Standard Zimmer für CHF 200.- pro Nacht und erhielten ein 10 m2 kleines Zimmer ohne Fenster. Zimmer Nr. 1. Und das in einem 5 Sterne Hotel? Bei unserer Reklamation taten sie zuerst so wie sie nichts davon wüssten. Anschliessend danken sie für den Hinweis. Der Hinweis war für sie sehr wichtig, aber es tat sich nichts. Da das Zimmer nicht zum Lüften ist, erhielt ich noch einen allergischen Schub (Hausstaub und Milben). Wir waren 2 Nächte dort. Nie wieder.

Amazing staff! It was our anniversary during our stay and when we arrived we had a bottle of champagne on ice in our room as well as a fruit and chocolate platter which was so lovely! There was however water leaking from the toilet so we informed the staff - They said the maintenance guy had finished his shift for the day but said there was another room available which had a balcony if we were happy to switch. We moved rooms and this was much bigger! Very happy with the service from staff and lovely boutique hotel with a great breakfast selection!

Really enjoyed the stay here. Beautiful period property in the perfect location. Staff were all super friendly and warm. Our dinners at Helena’s were a particular treat. The room had an old-fashioned, but quaint and charming aesthetic that perfectly matched the vibe of the hotel. My one complaint would be the WiFi; which was super unreliable for the duration of our stay. It would regularly drop out for extended periods and when it did work; was very slow. Despite this one issue, I would definitely stay here again when we hopefully return to Stellenbosch.

Coopmanhuijs was a wonderful location for our stay. The staff was phenomenal and willing to help with any of our needs. We had breakfast every morning and the food was excellent. All of downtown Stellenbosch was easily walkable and safe from the hotel. My room was very comfortable with an amazing bathroom with heated floors. The hotel also has a backup generator so load shedding is never an issue.

Vi hadde et helt fantastisk opphold på dette hotellet! Det ligger veldig sentralt i Stellenbosch, så det er lett å rusle rundt til butikker og restauranter. Selve hotellet er veldig sjarmerende, nydelig service og deilige rom. Personlig satte jeg pris på det lille bassenget - perfekt for en liten svømmetur både ettermiddag og morgen. Vi spiste også middag på hotellet som var helt nydelig!

The location is perfect for walking around Stellenbosch. Although parking is limited outside, the hotel’s concierge/valet service is excellent. Food in the hotel at Helena’s on the patio and breakfast inside was also easy and very yummy ! Rooms and amenities fabulous. This is 5 Star everywhere.

Really enjoyed the stay here. Beautiful period property in the perfect location. Staff were all super friendly and warm. Our dinners at Helena’s were a particular treat. The room had an old-fashioned, but quaint and charming aesthetic that perfectly matched the vibe of the hotel. My one complaint would be the WiFi; which was super unreliable for the duration of our stay. It would regularly drop out for extended periods and when it did work; was very slow. Despite this one issue, I would definitely stay here again when we hopefully return to Stellenbosch.

A small extension to our holiday so we chose Coopmanhuijs and it did not disappoint. A lovely room overlooking the pool, extremely clean and the service was fabulous & friendly. Highly recommend both the hotel & Helena’s Restaurant.

Amazing staff! It was our anniversary during our stay and when we arrived we had a bottle of champagne on ice in our room as well as a fruit and chocolate platter which was so lovely! There was however water leaking from the toilet so we informed the staff - They said the maintenance guy had finished his shift for the day but said there was another room available which had a balcony if we were happy to switch. We moved rooms and this was much bigger! Very happy with the service from staff and lovely boutique hotel with a great breakfast selection!

From when you arrive you feel welcome and appreciated , William takes care of your car and luggage while reception pours a glass of champagne while you check in, the rooms are magnificent , clean with everything you need. Outdoor area by pool spotless and maintained , the rich history in the restaurant was felt and the food delicious. What a beautiful hotel elevated by the staff. We'll situated the location is within walking distance to everywhere , truly a beautiful experience and not my last stay for sure. Thank you
