We had a great stay at the Kona Reef and Lori is a phenomenal host. Some features of this unit certainly separate it from the reviews of others nearby: cleanliness, comfortable king sized bed, smart tvs, oceanfront lanai, pool, jacuzzi, quiet/functioning air conditioning. The condo is a great jump off place for walking kona, and traveling to all the adventures around the island. Great proximity to the beachfront bars and shops. The maintenance crew of the building appears to keep the grounds very tidy, and pool clean, as you can see them hustling every morning. Lori left us some welcome gifts, was very accommodating and communicative. Seemed to offer as little or as much communication as you need, we fall into the “less is more” category. I would say she offered us the most gracious hosting style we have had while traveling! Thank you again! We tend to skip the costlier resort style accommodations, therefore would definitely return to this unit if/when we come back in the future!

This was a lovely property beautifully located and well maintained. We especially loved our view of the pool and ocean beyond. The owners anticipated every need that renters may require and they also communicated well in order to minimize inconvenience. Thank you for a lovely stay.

We had a lovely stay at the Kona Reef. The condo’s washer and dryer (and included soap) were helpful in keeping our suits and towels from getting musty. We had breakfast on the lanai every morning and loved watching the surfers and boogie borders. The location was perfect - far enough away to be quiet, close enough to Kona for easy access to restaurants and shopping. My only comment is that the paperwork you receive is pretty adamant about not getting sand in the condo. As a big beach goer, that part left me a little nervous. Sand in female swimsuits is an inevitability when you’re body surfing. There is a hose and shower at the pool to get visible sand, but there was this added layer of stress to get as much sand off as me as possible. In the end, I think we did okay, but it might be a hard thing to do with a child.

Everything from start to finish was perfect. Lori is a friendly and communicative property owner, her pride in ownership is reflected in every aspect of this condo. The. Condo is in a lovely area which is walkable to the main drag, it has a beautiful ocean view and it is absolutely spotless. We loved the pool area. We ran into a problem with our Hilo rental and Lori was wonderful in helping us with an early check in. Totally recommend this beautiful slice of paradise, w will definitely return since we visit Hawaii every year. Mahalo!

Nicely decorated condo with every amenity you could ask for. Setting overlooking pool, palm trees, and ocean was stunning. Perfect location for walking to shops and restaurants, along with nice, shaded beach next door. Beautiful sunsets! Highly recommend.

This condo was fully stocked and super clean. Other than grabbing food items for snacks and meals, we had everything we needed. Kitchen and bathroom! The bathroom had soft towels, shamp/cond/soap dispenser in the shower and all the extras to make you feel at home. Easily accessible and clean snorkle gear and boogie boards. We spent most of our time exploring the island but when we were home we spent our time on the lanai. Amazing view of the ocean. We enjoyed hearing the blowing of conch shells at sunset. The location is great as well. Walking distance to the boardwalk on Ali'i Dr where all the restaurants and shops are. Very fun area at night! Cant say enough about how efficient Lori was with keeping us updated on our arrival. We didnt have to "check in" we were able to just go straight to the condo and follow the instructions on how to get in. Jay and Lori, thank you so much for opening your amazing home. We had an unforgettable time! Aloha for now!!

Lori and Jay’s lovely unit is one of the best short term rentals we have ever stayed in! Spotlessly clean and equipped with absolutely anything you could need or want! Large spacious lanai with a gorgeous view. Split AC keeps both the bedroom and living room cool. Close walk to multiple restaurants and shops. Very responsive hosts. We loved the Big Island and would stay here again in a heartbeat!

Mask, snorkels, fins, boogie boards, zip lock bags, laundry detergent, dish soaps, appliances, spices, aloe vera, bug spray, coolers, etc. The owners have setup the place to ensure visitors can enjoy their time instead of running to town to pick up small odds and ends. We thoroughly enjoyed our visit.

Everything was wonderful. Lori and Jay are excellent hosts. Their unit was clean and comfortable and they supplied everything you would need for a wonderful and relaxed vacation. It was located for an easy walk to town for shopping, eating and drinking. Parking included, we rented a car and went sight seeing and the unit felt like home after a long day of adventures. The bed was luxurious and we had no trouble adjusting to the time change. Thanks again for making our 30th anniversary a dream come true. Aloha

Ocean view from the lanai is a perfect place to enjoy morning coffee, meals and sunsets. Comfortable Sleep number bed and living room couch. The condo is decorated with beautiful historic photos, maps and island charm. The kitchen and bathroom are well stocked with quality amenities. We had everything we needed at the condo to make our stay enjoyable and stress free. Great location, easy walk to many places in Kona. Appreciate all the hosts have done to make this property outstanding.

The unit was beautifully and comfortable furnished and had everything we needed and then some. The views from the balcony were amazing with whale sightings almost every day. The location was great. Just a few blocks from too many bars and restaurants to count. The beach chairs, cooler and boogie boards were perfect. The owners were great to deal with and we highly recommend this property!

Thoroughly enjoyed our stay at Kona Reef. The unit had a great view right on the water. Liked sitting out on the Lanai and listening to the sound of the ocean. Unit was fully equipped with anything you could need. Lori was a gracious host and kept us advised of maintenance/management folks who might drop by. Location is very convenient to several good bars/restaurants. highly recommended. .

This condo was fully stocked and super clean. Other than grabbing food items for snacks and meals, we had everything we needed. Kitchen and bathroom! The bathroom had soft towels, shamp/cond/soap dispenser in the shower and all the extras to make you feel at home. Easily accessible and clean snorkle gear and boogie boards. We spent most of our time exploring the island but when we were home we spent our time on the lanai. Amazing view of the ocean. We enjoyed hearing the blowing of conch shells at sunset. The location is great as well. Walking distance to the boardwalk on Ali'i Dr where all the restaurants and shops are. Very fun area at night! Cant say enough about how efficient Lori was with keeping us updated on our arrival. We didnt have to "check in" we were able to just go straight to the condo and follow the instructions on how to get in. Jay and Lori, thank you so much for opening your amazing home. We had an unforgettable time! Aloha for now!!

Lori and Jay’s lovely unit is one of the best short term rentals we have ever stayed in! Spotlessly clean and equipped with absolutely anything you could need or want! Large spacious lanai with a gorgeous view. Split AC keeps both the bedroom and living room cool. Close walk to multiple restaurants and shops. Very responsive hosts. We loved the Big Island and would stay here again in a heartbeat!

Everything from start to finish was perfect. Lori is a friendly and communicative property owner, her pride in ownership is reflected in every aspect of this condo. The. Condo is in a lovely area which is walkable to the main drag, it has a beautiful ocean view and it is absolutely spotless. We loved the pool area. We ran into a problem with our Hilo rental and Lori was wonderful in helping us with an early check in. Totally recommend this beautiful slice of paradise, w will definitely return since we visit Hawaii every year. Mahalo!

We had a vacation of a lifetime. Lori & Jay have a beautiful condo. The location is the best. The condo is beautiful with all the comforts of home & them some. They have every detail covered. We arrived to a happy birthday balloon & card & bottle of champagne. We were celebrating one of my friends birthdays. They are so kind, easy to work with & made sure the condo was perfect. Everything was wonderful. Lori and Jay are excellent hosts. Their unit was clean and comfortable and they supplied everything you would need for a wonderful and relaxed vacation. It was located for an easy walk to town for shopping, eating and drinking. Parking included, we rented a car and went sight seeing and the unit felt like home after a long day of adventures. The bed was luxurious and we had no trouble adjusting to the time change. Thanks again for making our 30th anniversary a dream come true. Aloha

Thoroughly enjoyed our stay at Kona Reef. The unit had a great view right on the water. Liked sitting out on the Lanai and listening to the sound of the ocean. Unit was fully equipped with anything you could need. Lori was a gracious host and kept us advised of maintenance/management folks who might drop by. The location was the perfect base for all of our activities. The ocean view was breathtaking and we had a perfect view of the glorious sunset every evening! The condo was very comfortable and provided lots of extras--snorkeling equipment, coolers, boogie boards, beach chairs, etc. which made our beach days so much nicer. The host responded quickly to any questions we had. Loved our time there!
