Great location walkable to many restaurants/convenience stores/attractions. Great value for money. Hospitable host and very responsive. We mentioned that the room was cold and even though we did not pay for the $10 for the heater control, the host gave us a portable heater to use for our stay there. Host was responsive in helping us make payment because there was an issue with our initial payment. Room unfortunately smelled of cigarettes.

El lugar no es ni parecido a lo que se ofrece. Las cortinas y paredes estaban sucias, las sábanas rotas, la tapa del inodoro suelta, el grifo del lavamanos roto, la regadera del baño rota. Tienen A/C pero por usarlo es un cobro adicional, en la habitación hay un ventilador pequeño, completamente sucio, lleno de polvo. No recomendaría ese lugar en su página.

Chambre qui ne correspondait pas aux photos, c’est dans un quartier où le dealer nous offrait du, hash, de la mari et des champignons au coin de la rue. Ce n’est pas un hôtel, la chambre est si petite qu’il n’est pas possible de circuler à deux. J’avais choisi une chambre avec salle de bain privée mais un bug m’a donné avec salle de commune. Aucune photo des salles de bain car c’est en piteux état.

It was very low on conveniences and very rudimentary. 1 thin towel, cold room, hair dryer with little to no heat, BUT the price was minimal and the staff was kind and gave me a space heater, the price was right, in a neighborhood with everything one needs. No one would confuse it with a five star hotel but worth the cost and I would not hesitate to recommend it.

We stayed at Motel Lavapiés for two nights. Here’s my review: Location: The location is convenient, close to many shops and restaurants, and within a 15-20 minute walk to more vibrant areas. Facilities: We booked two rooms with the expectation of a shared bathroom between them, but it turned out the bathroom was shared by all the rooms on the floor. If you’re particular about hygiene, this might not be the best option. The rooms themselves are average, and there is a shared fridge and microwave available for all guests. Noise: The most frustrating part of the stay was the noise. Both nights were filled with loud noises and shouting, which made it difficult to sleep.

NO CONTRATEN. UN HORROR. ES UN TIMO. En la web ofrecen aire acondicionado y no lo tiene funcionando, y Wifi en las habitaciones y se interrumpe permanentemente y cuando funciona lo hace a muy baja velocidad, en suma inservible. Ofrece servicio de habitación diario y solo prestan un servicio infame cada dos días que consiste en cambiar las toallas y tender la cama, ni siquiera barren la habitación. Y la habitación esta amueblada con muebles de segunda mano grandes y amontonados que impiden tener mesa de luz y dejan un pasillo de 20 ctms para acostarse. Hay que caminar en puntillas y de lado para acostarse y levantarse. Habitaciones sin armario, sucias e incomodas.

No es de mi gusto. No funciona la TV, ni Radio.

El alojamiento tiene lo necesario,.aire acondicionado ,papel en el baño, jabon para manos.,mini cocina,microondas, nevera.. Lo que le falta es una manita de pintura y arreglos. El baño compartido lo tuve frente a la habitacion. Y la zona muy buena, al menos para mì, atocha cerca y zona animada Tienes un carrefur 24 horas con cafeterìa

The hotel is very dirty. The shower was broken when I arrived and I had to change rooms because once the shower was fixed and I could take a shower, doing so caused the water to leak into the room. The surrounding area is quite dangerous, which is not the fault of the hotel of course, but something to consider. The staff are nice and friendly and the location is close to Atocha Train Station and Puerta del Sol.

Muy mala experiencia. Las sábanas estaban sucias por haber sido utilizadas por el ocupante anterior, la televisión rota y un mal estado general de la habitación. Ni volveré ni lo recomiendo a nadie.

Experiencia horrible, 0 recomendable La habitación era un zulo bajo tierra sin ventilación alguna, no se podía entrar sin que te dieran arcadas del olor Las paredes llenas de humedades, telarañas en el techo, polvo por las esquinas y los muebles del año de la polca. Nos aparecieron varias cucarachas en la habitación tanto vivas como muertas. El baño desprendía un terrible olor a cañerías. La nevera no enfriaba, el aire acondicionado no hacia efecto, y los armarios tenían una capa de polvo de 2 cm. Instalaciones nefastas. Para poder entrar había que llamar a un timbre y que te abrieran la puerta de arriba desde recepción , que en teoría había servicio 24 horas, pero una vez tuvimos que esperar hasta 40 min porque no había nadie para abrirnos y luego no nos dieron explicación alguna ni recibimos disculpas. 2 noches viviendo entre mugre y condiciones insalubres, si sanidad pasara inspección a estas habitaciones cerraba el negocio. Falta de seguridad, por no hablar del barrio, que cada vez que salíamos temíamos por nuestra vida y nuestras pertenencias. Experiencia para no repetir, por no hablar del precio desorbitado que hemos pagado por habitar en un ecosistema similar al que tendríamos en un alcantarillado. Las cucarachas debajo de los muebles que nos encontramos la segunda noche fue el colmo….

Habitación en sótano, con fuerte olor a humedad. El baño privado de la habitación, con el techo con moho. Nada recomendable

Limpieza de las habitaciones y de las sabanas MUY insuficiente

La chambre était très sale (nourriture ouverte, morceaux du placo des murs derrière l’armoire, cheveux sur les draps…), aucune fenêtre dans la chambre, la douche de la salle de bain commune ne se fermait pas à clé ce qui est inadmissible pour une salle de bain commune mixte

La chambre rien à voir avec la photo, le lit cassé, la chambre pas propre, la salle de bains sale mais le personnel est très gentils

Muy sucia la habitacion y baño, nos encontramos una cucaracha y bichos en la habitacion, basura debajo de la cama que dejaron otros huespedes, muy mal

Hotel de mala muerte, habitación subterránea con una ventana diminuta que queda en el pie de la calle, colillas y una botella de agua vacía bajo la cama, síntoma de que no habían limpiado, madera de las puertas rota, baño sucio incluso con una mancha viscosa amarilla en el suelo, el edificio en sí descuidado, prácticamente todo viejo, sucio y con aspecto de película de terror.

There was dog poop in front of the door and garbage everywhere. Hair still in bathrooms, dirt and mold everywhere

Way too expensive for the type of place. We were on a non-smoking room and the smell of cigarette was all over the room. You can hear the noice from the street so we couldnt rest well.

Los alrededores muy peligrosos, la habitación era muy pequeña practicamente no cabíamos, las sábanas tenian una mancha, habían pelos por todos lados, la ventana estaba rota y además no se podia cerrar… todo muy mal, nos tuvimos q ir de ahí

Struttura molto essenziale, ma decisamente economica per Madrid, adatta per dormirci e basta. La camera nello scantinato non era decisamente il massimo, ma per dormirci una notte andava bene ... a parte il rumore della strada

The property is conveniently located near shopping (Carrefour), metro Lavapies and not too far from Calle de Atocha from which is fairly easy to get to Museo Reina Sofia, El Rastro, Mercado de San Fernando and multiple restaurants in between. The shared bathroom (aseos) was new to me and the room assigned to me (#14) faced the street which at street level made it noisy throughout the night. The staff was friendly and helpful with questions and suggestions. The property is a modest motel, so there should be no expectations on anything but the basic for a one night stay: the bathroom was clean for it being a shared amenity and the room and linen were impeccably clean.

This hotel has horrible WiFi!! There were two routers to connect to and neither had internet. I stayed there two nights and couldn’t find restaurants, directions, no email, not even texts would go through! I asked the front desk about it and they just said “everybody is using it at once which is why it’s slow “. That’s not true because I tried around the clock and had to go to bars and restaurants for wifi

Room 14 was awful and priced at least 3 times more than it should have been. In the basement, dingy, musty, so cramped you could not open the cabinet as it was 6 inches from bed, which had a Shakey leg. Tiny sink, no soap or shampoo as pictured, pitiful bath towel, none for hands. So noisy all night long and into the early morning, no sleep.

The hotel could have done better to make the stay more comfortable and enjoyable. I was first given a room where the wifi was non-existent. They did move me to a room where the wifi was better so that was appreciated. However, the bed was so large that you couldn't enter it from the sides. This was manageable but just odd. The main complaint was that the hotel is located in a busy area with a lot of car noise and nightlife. This meant a lot of light. The window shades were so thin that they didn't block any light at all and you could practically read without the lights on. I brought this to their attention and the man went to look and said that there were curtains. I agreed and said that they were so thin that they were totally ineffective. It was very difficult to get a night of sleep. The staff was friendly and all that, but a bit more concern for these little things would have gone a long way.

I would not recommend this place to anyone who is older and travelling alone. What is shown in the photos does not represent the reality. I had booked a double room with an attached bathroom and paid 150 euros. I was shocked to see the size of the room. There was no ventilation. It was below the level of the road and you could hear cars and people walking past. I had no option but to check out and look for another place as there was no way I could sleep in an airless room in a noisy neighbourhood. As I said, perhaps for the young, rooms like this are fine. But they are not a good choice for an older person. And the charges are too high for a room like that.

Its very bad Hotel noisy whole the night and the day can't sleep and the room is very cold.

Very good place, the staff is helpful and very close to the City Center. I'm ready to come back Again and would definitely recommend it.

The bed, room and furniture were dirty and in bad repair. The room was tiny. The bed filled 90% of it. The staff, whilst friendly, were a bit intrusive in the room, actually walking in on my friend as she was going to bed and I was in the bathroom. We didn't get large towels, only tiny ones and when asked for large ones, we were at first ignored and then told they'd be left in the cupboard. We found some drinking glasses that were caked in grime, and nothing to wash them with. The bed had some drops of red on it, we prayed wasn't blood. The street outside was noisy, which doesn't usually bother us but it seemed the window didn't close properly. The location was pretty good, but I think for the money paid, you could definitely get a better place.

Old hostel. Great location and helpful staff made up for the basement room

Es un lugar muy sucio, el personal es grosero y desatento. El wifi es malo. Nunca hacen la limpieza. La chica que atiende y saca la basura es muy grosera, altanera, agresiva e invade la privacidad de los huéspedes; personalmente me gritó y me abrió la puerta del cuarto minutos antes del check-out, lo cual me retrasó para salir y además me avergonzó además de amenzarme con golpearme al llevarme a un par de hombres al cuarto.

I dont normally leave reviews… but given as this is the worst place I have ever stayed at I feel it would be a must to alert other fellow travellers and share my experience! Stay away at all costs! Staff were scammers, the room I had was an eye-sore and it stunk. Surrounding area was horrible and felt unsafe. Upon checking in the receptionist suggested they did not accept credit card, even though mastercard/visa sign was placed up behind him on wall. I reckon this was part of their scam. Cash machine 10’secs round the corner. Paid up in full for the stay for 3’nights. It was so bad I left after 1’night. I was checking out at 5:30am in the morning and the night-porters said i still owed half of the fee and was refusing to let me leave. He was adamant there was only half paid when checked in and the other half was still to be paid (have never heard of the likes in all my life)! Especially after showing them the credit card transaction from bank machine and there are cameras on reception they still insisted i owed money. I was arguing for 10’mins before I had enough and forced my way outside running down the street to get away. An absolutely absurd experience. The place was smelling throughout. No air con unless pay extra. Very noisy- inside and outside. It just wasn’t a pleasant place at all. Save your money for elsewhere.

Location-wise, it was great, with the metro station just there, and using the metro system super easy access from the airport, and it was easy to get around the city from there. The motel itself was a bit dirty, had obvious signs of age and could benefit from a proper deep clean. That being said, I didn't see anything alarming - no bed bugs, no insects, nothing that would be a problem. So, it's a rundown place, but at the price point of 50 euros a night, I feel it'll be as good as one can expect in the middle of the city. FYI: bring earplugs as it's a kinda noisy area.

There was no heat in the room and it was 3 degrees celcius. I was freezing all night. The motel area is full of homeless drug addicts and is not safe. I did not feel safe in the room and put the dresser and chair against the door. This should not be listed on the Hotels.com site.

Es un lugar sencillo pero bien, limpio y bien atendido. Está muy bien ubicado

Si buscas un lugar económico ya sea que viajes solo o en pareja, este es el indicado. No le temas a compartir baño, porque hay suficientes. Una calle abajo, se encuentra la estación del metro llamada “lavapies” eso hace que sea aún mejor porque estarás conectado (a) a muchos lugares. El personal super amable, es cómodo y linpio, vamos realmente solo es para dormir, tienes que salir, recuerda que Es una aventura y disfrútala!!
