Great room. Very clean. Had what I wanted in a room. However, for those who are not good at going up steps this is not the property for you, as one has to climb up quite steep outside steps to reach at least two rooms. The fridge in my room was very noisy.

Rooms were lovely and modern, very clean and comfortable. Staff were extremely helpful when we had a booking issue and sorted it out instantly. Plenty of parking and very quiet

Just stayed for one night. Unfortunately they are shut on Wednesday so had to walk to sister pub across the river to get a meal( which was ok) Room was very good and granddaughter loved the playground

The location is convenient for occasional visits to family members living nearby. Dinner was very good, and I was fortunate not to have to pre-book. On the downside, my car suffered damage (probably from an inconsiderate parker) during my visit, not noted until I had left, so I cannot be entirely sure where it occurred. However, parking bays are not marked. Of course one can't be confident that a poor parker will be honest about any damage, but it leaves an unpleasant taste.

Room and cleanliness was very good. Parking out front available free. Word of caution that on Wednesdays the pub is closed and therefore you have to do self check-in. So look out for a separate email from the pub directly. Access is straight forward, although initially unexpected.

Went to a regatta at Ironbridge. Travelling on my own I felt safe at the accommodation and it was a lovely stay. The food at the pub is amazing and all the staff so friendly and helpful. The room was very cute and had everything that I needed, including a small fridge that was a bonus as it was very hot and kept my water cool. Parking is next to the pub and had no issues. There was a fan in the room that kept the room cool overnight. Def recommend.

Stayed with my husband for an event locally, so one of the nearest hotels to Madeley. Pretty pub which gets quite busy. We stayed in a fab room at the front overlooking the road. We didn't hear any noise though. Quite a large room with tea making facilities/biscuits. Good bed size probably, king, not as comfy as some I've stayed in but ok. Good sized bathroom with separate shower. The pub serves food and we ordered bbq ribs, they did state as we'd not booked a table we would have to eat outside, however, in the end we were able to eat inside the pub. Basic pub grub, but presently nicely. Friendly place, but note that the rooms are at the back of the pub and you have to negotiate a number of steps at the side to enter and exit. Simple straight forward, pick up keys and enjoy the area. The pub offer some tasty choices and Apple desert ticks the box. Room was large without being too big and with windows front and back plenty of natural light. Heating was just right with an additional portable heater if needed, but didn't need it. They also provide an Iron and Ironing board which is a nice touch. My one niggle was there is no heating in the bathroom, as the weather was mild it's not an issue but come November it might, a heated towel rail would be just enough to take the chill off when then time comes. Out back there is a small play area with swing, seesaw and roundabout (which I had a go to test) Otherwise a very nice setup.

Beautiful location. I tend to stay on Tuesdays and Wednesdays when the pub is closed. Then it's a really quiet place to relax. The rooms are quaint and clean, if a little dated.

TV never worked. Shower cubicle didn’t drain. 2 basics a guest shouldn’t be left to find out. On top of that the electrical in the room was somewhat disturbing and the whole place was shutting when I arrived at 9.20 PM

Despite the great reviews, I can only say I was disappointed and the stay was average. I knew the pub was closed on Tuesday when I booked and the access instructions were clear but the room was cold (the radiators were turned off I assume because the pub was closed) and the TV had no channels on (again because the source in the pub was turned off maybe?).

The Shakespeare Inn is a lovely building with a busy bar/ restaurant with a good atmosphere. The room was huge, well appointed with added extras like a fridge. I enjoyed my stay and would visit again- thank you

Disappointing.Booked this hotel due to it being close to a job i had to do.I received an email telling me that the restaurant and bar dont open on a Wednesday so had to drive 5 miles to get food and drink if i was made aware off this i would never have booked a room here.The internet was abysmally slow. The room had a tv but couldn't watch anything because there was no signal to get a picture.I wouldn't stay here again.

A nice room to stay in. Shower area is very small. Small fridge broke down I think as started to make a lot of noise and has to switch it off at the mains. Mattress is worn as could feel the springs and wasn't comfortable for a good night sleep

My sister and I meet up once a year and we had a lovely stay. I got the booking wrong and forgot to ask for twin beds and they sorted it out for us. So accommodating. Lovely place for exploring Coalport and ironbridge.

Check in was at a busy bar, and the first person I spoke to told me that someone else would deal with my check-in. So, I was left standing there with my bags with other customers trying to get past me to order drinks - until somebody else turned up. The room was on a terrace next to a children's play area, so it was noisy until the pub part closed. Still, the room was cosy enough. I was told that, when checking out, I could ask the staff present the following morning for an invoice. But, there was nobody there. The place was all locked up. They did however sort me out with an invoice very quickly by email later that day.

Great location in tourist spot with bar and restaurant. Disappointed however that they did not serve breakfast and there was no where else immediately nearby.

Lovely location and setting. Well looked after with very good room amenities. Plenty of towels, TV, mini fridge, good quality tea & coffee. Comfy beds and everything was super clean. Only minor snag for us was lack of wifi password in the room. The whole valley is not a good location for phone reception ! (This was only a snag as we were there the evening the restaurant is closed, otherwise it would have been easier to obtain a password) Over all we would recommend as a place to stay in the Ironbridge Gorge, minutes by car away from all the museums and of course the Iron Bridge, also restaurants, pubs and shops. We would stay here again without hesitation, it's one to remember. A proper find ! Thank you to Brett who was helpful with pre stay info by phone & email and of course the wifi password 😊

Went to a regatta at Ironbridge. Travelling on my own I felt safe at the accommodation and it was a lovely stay. The food at the pub is amazing and all the staff so friendly and helpful. The room was very cute and had everything that I needed, including a small fridge that was a bonus as it was very hot and kept my water cool. Parking is next to the pub and had no issues. There was a fan in the room that kept the room cool overnight. Def recommend.

Room was ok, but being a pub, it was disappointing to find on Friday that the bar shut after food service around 8:30pm. Had to walk over a mile in the dark to another pub for a drink. No breakfast offer, so returned to the other pub next morning for that.

Enjoyable stay; good staff; good food; chef tried hard to compensate for lack of conventional breakfast service mid-week. Closure of kitchen for two days per week a problem. Lack of staff for two days per week also a problem. Fire precautions need reviewing - directed to non-existent public phone box and no signal for mobiles.

Nice quiet hotel down a country lane. Lots of parking, but was hard to find a space on a Friday night. Luckily someone moved so we were able to park. Room was a nice size with en suite. Tea making facilities were provided. Access to room was to rear of pub off the gardens so didn't have to walk through pub. No breakfast on site so had to find a local place. Evening meal was good

Great family room, really large and lots of little details had been considered to make our stay really comfortable. Really loved how the room was accessed straight from the beer garden so the kids could easily go outside and play and we could take a cup of tea outside in the morning. Lots of parking and great location just a short drive from Blists Hill (which has a great playground!) and Iron Bridge. Had an evening meal in the pub and it was great, huge portions and very relaxed. The beer garden and rooms are up some quite steep steps so the only negative would be if you have mobility issues. Great views from the beer garden though! We will definitely return.

Extremely good stay at The Shakespeare Inn, Coalport. Hotel rooms were immaculate with daily housekeeping and lots of little extras to make you feel at home. On the Thursday we dined in the restaurant where we decided to sit outside so we could enjoy our food with a view. Really beautiful place, nice and quiet, will definitely return!
