Motel 6-New Orleans, LA - Near Downtown

Clean. Property needs some repair and updating. But otherwise staff was nice and fenced in parking lot.

Was fine for a short stay. Just the basics for amenities in the room, plus some vending machines and coffee in the morning. Options for food across the road. It is fair way to travel into the city from the motel.

Pet friendly is a huge help, for the price it is a great deal

If you just need some where to sleep, this is the place. Nothing more nothing less. No breakfast served. No pools. Some of the tvs dont work in the rooms so you may have to change rooms a few times. Some of the electrical plugs are burned as if it was a near fire. Some latches for the doors dont work. If you trying to do Bourbon and stuff, you will need a car if you stay here to get back and forth. Because you cant simply walk to Bourbon from this motel.

Very professional, hardworking owners and staff. Quiet, safe . There are locks on all doors and gated parking . Walmart is across the street along with several restaurants and stores nearby. 1/2 mile to I-10West. My service dog stays free of charge . Pets charge a deposit . Overall we have never had any issues and the place is always affordable and clean.

Someone broke into my vehicle and stole it while in the motel’s parking lot. Vehicle was retrieved approximately 2 miles from the motel. Video footage is from the motel’s cameras on site.

Super dirty & a really sketchy area, there was stains on the bedding, the toilet and tub was so dirty and it stunk so bad. I walked in and walked straight out, I couldn’t even stay there because it was so bad. Save your money and book somewhere downtown.

Motel 6 is a basic hotel- that is reflected in the price. You don't get breakfast, and the furniture is sparse- but this location was extremely clean, and felt very safe! The rooms are huge! And did i mention clean? You are within a block of mcdonald's, burger King, family dollar, walmart, and more. It is RIGHT off i10 and an easy fifteen minute drive to the port, 17 minutes from the zoo, and 10-20 minutes to Bourbon/ French quarters. Staff is polite! If you're looking to spend a few nights in NOLA, don't need extra luxuries, and are on a budget, this place is perfect! We will definitely return on future trips to the area!

the staff was nice but the property is very sketchy. people were sleeping in the halls and propping open the doors that were supposed to be locked unless you had a key card. people were also hanging out outside. the carpets were very dirty and it was the same trash in the staircase during our stay. The lights in the hallway were flickering and it felt like we were in a horror movie. Our room was okay but I did see a roach in the bathroom. I didn’t even want to use the covers/towels because the property was disgusting.

The staff did the best they could and relocated me to a room at the end of the hallway, but somebody in there is smoking like a coal train, and there is nothing one can do to get away from secondhand smoke, it just gets through and into everything. Windows don't open either so that's no help. They really need to have a smoking and a nonsmoking building altogether, or enforce whatever policy they have (if there is one). If you smoke, this place is fine. If you don't, well- It's about as expected otherwise. Room was clean and met my needs. Located right next to the freeway and area is marginal at best, but that is what comes with the proximity to downtown.

Dirty, filthy, smelly, the bedsheets were covered in stains. I couldn’t sleep because of the noise caused by drunk people outside the hallway, the parking lot and the entrance.

The room is big . Bed is okay . The hotel is dirty and smell badly. The toilet was broken and water leaking. Shower need new curtains because the shower water keep on getting the floor wet. Laundry broken, internet go on and off. Can’t walk around the hallway.

I didnt like the smell. Smelled like mildew. The toliet was leaking water all over the restroom floor rm (118). Moved to seco d room (120) same issue.Plus when i tried to call front desk the phone in room 120 wasnt working.I needed a 1 hour late check out was not accepted just a horrible experience.

The room was a nice size overall. The beds were comfortable. I could've used some bigger pillows. The lil fridge didn't get cold at all and there were barely any good channels to watch on the TV.

After given the room key, our room was located in the back of the hotel. The entrance to the back section of the rooms was inaccessible as the handles were taken off. Then we had to walk midway to the other door for entrance just to walk back down to the end of the hall. I guess it would not have been a big deal but considering we drove non stop from Western Carolina and was very exhausted. The room was decent. The A/C made noise but not a big deal. The ice machine was probably another mile away as we never could find it.

The bed was the cheapest mattress on the market. There was zero pieces of furniture on the room except two cheap kitchen chairs. The wall mounted tv was the smallest on the market.

I paid for my room for 3 days Friday -Monday traveling from Florida , so i didn’t arrive untill Saturday early morning, when i arrived my reservation was canceled , they said because i didn’t check in by check in time , so the whole reservation was canceled, why does it matter what time i checks into room , if i had already paid for my stay. So now after driving 9 hours from Florida I have no place to stay . And now I have to also wait 7-10 business days for my money , and spend more money to get another room.

Due to mobility issues I booked& requested no stairs. I booked several weeks in advance to help accommodate that but the "only" rooms they had were up 2 flights of stairs. I'm in a wheelchair 75% of the time due to chronic illnesses. We asked for extra pillows was told someone would bring them we waited and were late to meet up with family trying to wait for pillows. Overall clean

We got snowed in at this motel for the Bayou Blizzard in New Orleans 2025. The staff has been excellent about accommodating us for days and go above and beyond to make sure everyone is safe, warm and housed !

The staff was decently friendly, easy check in/check out. If you are traveling on a budget this hotel is an okay option for prices, HOWEVER, bring your own sheet to sleep on top of so you dont touch their sheets, your own pillow, blanket, towel, ear plugs for sleeping, shower shoes so your feet dont touch the bathroom/bathtub floor, and a scented candle to combat the cigarette smell. The sheets are filthy and had lots of hair and debris in them, didnt appear to have been cleaned before and had lots of cigareete holes in them, the room was non smoking but smelled like someone had just put a cigarette out before we walked in, the towels are stained. The water pressure did vary a lot sometimes it was reasonable and sometimes it was very weak. We didnt use the A/C so cant comment on that. The phone does not work. Lots of sketchy people milling about playing loud music and agruing through the night. Room 132 was nice because it was very close to the exit and the shortest walk possible to and from the car. The car does not feel safe in the parking lot so be sure to remove all valuables. The room didnt feel very safe when leaving it and unable to use the deadbolt so we just took our couple of "valuable" items with us in our bags when we went left during the day. Basically the room gets the job done if you come prepared with the items I mentioned, its a cheap stay. Room was large and spacious! Nice wood floors.

The staff at this Motel 6 were very friendly and super helpful in the event that my luggage was lost by the airlines. They received it and held it and kept it safe for me. They’re friendly, kind, and efficient. I can’t wait to go back and stay with them in New Orleans again.

This being New Orleans, the hotel is actually in a secluded part, which makes it safer than most of the areas I drove through when wandering about. You get a secured parking lot, though I didn't see the gate close whenever I stepped out. Check-in is smooth; the rooms are all on the ground level, and you can park at an exit near your room, so the walk is never too long. The room was spacious, clean, and quiet. The bed was comfortable, and the proximity to the downtown area, even despite being on the outskirts, is a huge plus. After exploring the area, I'm glad I booked here.

The property was in a very good location, it was close to the interstate.

We stayed for four nights. I was pleasantly surprised by the size of the room - nice and big with a mini fridge and microwave. For the price, I would stay here again. I deducted one star because the halls really stank of cigarette smoke, which gave me a sore throat. Note that you can get public transit downtown (takes about 45 min). And there are things nearby (eg, frozen daiquiris, fast food). Close to the highway. As expected at a budget hotel, there were sketchy people staying there (yelling at times, etc.). And the room isn’t perfect. But this didn’t bother us, as I expected it.

Great area to be in, easy to commute, and you have access to shopping & groceries!

Not in the best part of town, and the road were in very poor conditiion.

Would have liked all door locks to work and exits to be more secure. Coffee in the lobby would have been nice, though restaurants were nearby.

No dresser, no hair dryer, no place to sit and relax,vending machine empty, no shampoo only a bar of soap. Overpriced at $200 a nite. Never again. Only places to eat were fast food places a ten minute walk thru crummy neighborhoods.
