I really enjoyed the fact that it's not a multi-story hotel where you are surrounded by noise and people. Very quiet and the amenities were great. No annoying key card, you entered the room with a code. Huge mini fridge, microwave, and coffee in the room. Only draw back is that the parking lot is small and a tight fit but doable. Many restaurants in walking distance or 5 minutes by car. If we come to the Sierra storytelling festival again, we will stay here, really nice place!

We stayed at the Sierra Mountain with three other families for a skiing trip. We stayed and two other families stayed 3 nights. One of the family only for a night. The biggest advantage of the Sierra Mountain Inn is it was able to accommodate 5 people and it had kitchenettes. One of the family reserved the Cottage which has a sitting area and full kitchen. The exterior looked great and there nothing to complain about. They have dishes, glass and silverware for you to use.

My stay was very peaceful. The grounds have seating to sit outside and enjoy the beautiful trees. If there is anything I would change it would be larger parking spaces for oversized cars, maybe street parking was an option.

Cute place, clean and comfortable. Parking is a bit tight, you have to back out into the street to leave. I think the rooms are sound proofed, which was nice. Will definitely stay here again. They're also pet frindly with a small deposit, but call ahead of time to make sure you can get a pet friendly room.

The check in was really quick. The place is nice. When we walked in, the beddings were stained. But, the lady changed it for us. The parking is a little tight but it all worked out. The stay was really pleasant. Note the following: There are really no amenities provided. There's no breakfast There's no pool No irons inside the rooms. No laundry service No room service There is a hair dryer, a microwave, and a fridge. It's very plain. Okay for a quick overnight stay.

My fiancé and I took a last minute trip and this place was perfect. Freshly renovated, we booked the room with an open ceiling. I could tell it was newly remodeled just by looking and smelling. The nice young woman who I believe is the owner was very gracious and accommodating. It’s walking distance to old downtown which has plenty of restaurants. The parking lot can be a little tricky due to the design and space. I highly recommend this quaint inn and hope to make a return visit.

The cottage at Sierra Mountain Inn was great for us. We were traveling with our retriever, and the surrounding garden provided a peaceful area to walk her. There were also great dog walking options nearby. It was also convenient to nearby dining options on Main Street, the tables in the garden allowed us to have takeout there.

Nice little property with assigned parking. The staff was friendly and helpful. The room was clean and orderly. Easy check in and check out process. Room Key process was very easy to use. Couple small issues would be if you have a large car or truck it would be difficult to get in and out of the parking spaces. So be prepared for that and may have to park on the street. The bed was a little too soft for my liking but may be ok for others. I just found myself sunk in a little too deep in the mattress as the night went on. Lastly, the street the hotel is in a residential area of Grass Valley but the street is pretty busy and you hear a lot a road noise. In the morning as people are going to work. All in all I would come back to stay here again next time I come and need to stay in Grass Valley or Nevada City areas. It’s a quiet, cozy property and reasonably priced and quality compared to other properties in the area.

Room was extremely clean and comfortable, and it was very easy to check in, the lady at the front desk was extremely nice. It was an easy walk to everything we wanted to do downtown, and I will definitely stay here again when we're in the area

This was a lovely property in the cutest town. Everyone working there was helpful and kind. The inn is very cute. The room we had was clean, spacious, and nice. They were communicative from beginning through the stay to the end. If I had to choose anything to improve, it would be the mattress (time for a new one), and the initial cleanliness of the shower. Not exactly sure what happened there, but when we asked for room cleaning service, and we returned, the shower was exceptionally clean. We would not hesitate to stay there again if we were in the area!

Upon arrival was greeted by the lovely site of the property! The lady at the front desk was super nice and check in was fast and painless. The cottage we stayed in was so charming and adorable. Perfect space for a little getaway. We will definitely will book again when we come to Grass Valley!

We stayed in room 11. The mattress was too soft. Could hardly turn over. I saw a previous review where the guest complained about this particular mattress and the response that the mattresses had been replaced recently with pillow top mattresses. Even so, I've never encountered a mattress this soft. The bathroom tiles are cracked. The bar between the bed and the kitchenette takes up so much space its a little hard to get around. The staff was very good, friendly and courteous. I would recommend anyone booking a room here to ask for a room away from the main road and sit on the bed before tucking in for the night.

The Inn is old but charming. Staff was very friendly. Only issue is the HVAC was so loud and noisy it kept me up the entire night, going off and on every 20 mins. Its in a great location. Be aware that what they consider a 2 bedroom is actually a one bedroom, with an added bed in the living area of the room.

The room was teeny tiny and not at all what the pictures looked like. It was old and needed more upgrades - especially in the bathroom. I accidentally left a pair of my shoes and called about it, but they said they couldn't find them. I have a hunch that the maid has a new pair of shoes. If said pair of shoes show up afterall, i will revise this part of my review. Also parking lot super small and hard to get in and out of.

The Inn is very nice and the room was everything I needed. Very close to the downtown shopping area and food. The only reason I did not give 5 stars overall is the internet is not the greatest and if you need internet while you travel id have a separate hotspot when you stay here. I would stay here again and recommend.

When we went to enter the room, we saw it was being worked on. Various tools were lying about, and the TV did not work. Management was powerless to help.

They were communicative from beginning through the stay to the end. If I had to choose anything to improve, it would be the mattress (time for a new one), and the initial cleanliness of the shower. Not exactly sure what happened there, but when we asked for room cleaning service, and we returned, the shower was exceptionally clean. We would not hesitate to stay there again if we were in the area!

We enjoyed our stay in this quaint inn that is also close to downtown Grass Valley, Empire Mines State Park and the surrounding freeways. Staff was very responsive and we appreciated the end room which felt very peaceful and private. Bathroom and kitchenette were somewhat recently remodeled and very comfortably practical. So they have AC because we were there during an excessive heat wave. Would stay again, but probably not during a heat wave if I can help it.

My fiancé and I took a last minute trip and this place was perfect. Freshly renovated, we booked the room with an open ceiling. I could tell it was newly remodeled just by looking and smelling. The nice young woman who I believe is the owner was very gracious and accommodating. It’s walking distance to old downtown which has plenty of restaurants. The parking lot can be a little tricky due to the design and space. I highly recommend this quaint inn and hope to make a return visit.

The Inn is very nice and the room was everything I needed. Very close to the downtown shopping area and food. The only reason I did not give 5 stars overall is the internet is not the greatest and if you need internet while you travel id have a separate hotspot when you stay here. I would stay here again and recommend.

The check in was really quick. The place is nice. When we walked in, the beddings were stained. But, the lady changed it for us. The parking is a little tight but it all worked out. The stay was really pleasant. Note the following: There are really no amenities provided. There's no breakfast There's no pool No irons inside the rooms. No laundry service No room service There is a hair dryer, a microwave, and a fridge. It's very plain. Okay for a quick overnight stay.

The cottage at Sierra Mountain Inn was great for us. We were traveling with our retriever, and the surrounding garden provided a peaceful area to walk her. There were also great dog walking options nearby. It was also convenient to nearby dining options on Main Street, the tables in the garden allowed us to have takeout there.

We love this place. Cozy/Homey/Better than any average motel, especially if you can book a spacious room with a kitchen! Beds are soft and comfy. Nice location in a neighborhood, across from pretty homes, and very close to downtown GV. Easy check-in and Keurig coffee inside the lobby. Non-stop traffic going by is noisy, but only bothersome while sitting outside. The shady lawn area is great for kicking back, but could use some TLC. Housekeepers/handymen could be little more diligent about cleaning grime from window sills and baseboards, restocking empty supplies in the bathroom, repairs, etc. But overall, it's still our favorite option for staying in GV.
