Amethyst Hotel İstanbul Old City

The hotel went above and beyond to ensure I was satisfied during my stay. They was a bit of an issue but in. O time the management correct it with a sense of urgency and ensure that I was comfortable and checked in with me daily during my stay. I have stayed here 4 times now doing my visits to istanbul and I come for the exceptional Customerservice and hotel quality as well as the neighborhood. Front desk staff is wonderful and so is the bell staff. The sales manager went above and beyond and exceeded all my expectations when an issued occurred. I am pleased as always and I recommend this property if you decide to visit istanbul. It’s close and walking distance from everything even the bazar and markets. There is 24 hour reception desk and also room service and free breakfast if you choose that option. There is also inside great amenities spa sauna and pool. In most of the hotels I have stayed ar in turkey this is by far one of the best in service and catering to the needs of the client. Gabriel D NYC

Good transport links as the station is close by. Good breakfast in the restaurant. The spa was also excellent.

The best thing about the hotel was the great variety of food available for breakfast. There was also a pool available for free. My only reservation is that it was easy to hear noises from outside the room quite easily.

Pool was not clean. Sauna overcrowded.

Localisation au top : à moins de 10mn du métro, pas loin des bazar et de la mosquée, restaurants dans le coin. Coin spa avec piscine ert bain turc top, personel agréable Retsaurant et petit dej ok, il manque peut-être 1 plat végétarien en plus. Excellent rapport qualité-prix

The pool and sauna do not open until midday which was no good for me.

The spa didn’t feel relaxing or calm; it seemed robotic and rushed, and the prices were higher than expected.

Great central hotel with an excellent pool and sauna.

We had a fantastic stay - incredibly friendly and helpful staff, wonderful room and such a beautiful and unusual pool. Located very close to the tram and buses that took us everywhere we wanted to go. Certainly within walking distance of many of these too. We had a wonderful stay - many thanks to the staff.

The best thing that can be said for the property is that the location is good. It is walking distance to a lot of the attractions in the old city and is right by a tram stop leading to easy access to the public transportation. The area around the hotel is relatively safe and has food and shopping options even late at night. For the most part the staff was polite and did try to accomodate our needs, however they did ignore our requests for water and towels one night. The hotel itself is lacking and misleading. The pictures online are for their deluxe room and not representative of their regular rooms which are small and very old. The whole hotel smells of cigarette smoke, the walls and carpet were dirty, and the toilet was old with dirty tubs. This was the case unfortunately with all 3 rooms that we booked with this property. We stayed for 7 nights and wanted to leave after the first day, however the hotel would not reimburse us for the other nights and we were stuck there. I would not stay here again nor would I recommend anyone staying here. For the price and location there are other hotels that are better. It was a disappointing stay.

Ein perfekt sauberes Hotel mit topp Service und tollen Mitarbeitern. Ganz großes Lob. Alles bestens. Wir sind aus dem ursprünglich gebuchten Hotel (von Kakerlaken zur auslaufenden Toiletten über Dreck in allen Ecken) direkt ins Amethyst Hotel. Danke! Sogar um meinen am Flughafen verloren gegangen Koffer haben sich alle gut gekümmert.

Good location, super staff, good breakfast and super clean.

Minpunten: Sommige dingen in het hotel zijn aan vervanging toe; in de kamer die ik kreeg heeft wasbak barsten, de douche kop heeft gaten aan de bovenkant en het tapijt is vies. Pluspunten: De receptie, schoonmaak èn restaurant personeel zijn vriendelijk. Het ontbijt is uitgebreid en lekker. De Wi-Fi is goed.

The carpet is dirty in the bedroom, shower is too small the water standing in the sink overall the hotel need a face-lift

Check in checkout waren reibungslos. Das Personal sehr nett und höflich und haben bei allem sofort geholfen. Das Zimmer war tadellos sauber und es funktionierte alles einwandfrei. Immer wieder gerne.

Dieses Hotel war unser Urlaubsretter. Wir waren vorher eine Nacht in einem anderen Hotel ganz in der Nähe. Wir haben uns gleich am nächsten Morgen auf die Suche gemacht und sind auf dieses Hotel gestoßen. Zum Glück hatten Sie ein Zimmer frei und gleich über Expedia gebucht. Das Personal war sehr nett und immer hilfsbereit. Wir hatten ein sauberes Zimmer, welches uns vor der Buchung gezeigt wurde. Das Frühstücksbuffet ließ keine Wünsche offen, es gab eine sehr gute Auswahl. Den Spa Bereich haben wir nicht genutzt. Die Lobby und alle öffentlichen Räume waren sauber und sehr schön ausgestattet. Durch die Lage zur Tram (ca. 300 Meter) auch eine tolle Lage für eine Stadtbesichtigung. In dieses Hotel würden wir jederzeit gerne zurückkommen.

If you plan to sleep, forget it. It is not possible to do this in this hotel, it is very noisy.

I love the location of the Amethyst Hotel. Everybody is very nice and helpful. The pool is amazing and has a perfect temperature. The only thing that's really bothered me is the mattress. It is like concrete. I had a really hard time sleeping.

Es war leider zu laut in der Unterkunft. Und auch im Gang und draußen auf der Straße. Man hatte stets das Gefühl umgeben von Lärm zu sein.

We had a Deluxe Queen room which was huge. The air conditioning worked well. The bed was very comfortable & the bathroom fantastic. The staff were all very friendly & helpful. Location very close to the tram & not far to the train station. The breakfast had a lot of choice & was very tasty. We moved to this hotel after being let down by a nearby hotel but The Amethyst Hotel made us feel welcome & exceeded our expectations. Highly recommend.

Shower door was broken, shower head was broken, drain seemed clogged.

It was very noisy outside, I would have liked to be informed about the road work that was going on at night, and the rooms were also noisy

The lobby staf c were very nice but the restaurant staff were not actually rude I wanted to enter through the restaurant door to the building but the staff there rudely asked me to get out and go around the building to get to the hotel. Also the housekeeper went through my clothes and put them in my luggage and moved around my luggage things like these which was very disturbing to me

Excellent service from the staff members, especially Amir who helped a lot during our stay.

We were very pleased with the service, staff accommodated our needs when we arrived early, allowing us to check in early and providing us with lunch bags on departure as we had a night flight, missing brekki. Iron came in minutes when I asked, cleaning staff so friendly and polite, always providing 2x big bottles of water. The cushion was personally too big for me so I used the smaller one which worked well. The hotel was in very close proximity to the tram and metro underground which was great to explore Istanbul and all the main attractions. I would definitely recommend.

Il personale poco professionale sempre con i cellulari in mano. Inoltre avevo prenotato una camera standard letto king size mi hanno dato una camera per handicap rumorosissima vicino ai compressori aria condizionata ero stanco in arrivo da un viaggio lungo non sono riuscito a dormire stamattina alle 9:45 mi hanno chiamato 2 volte per cacciarmi via dalla stanza mentre il check out era 12 CHIEDO DI ESSERE RIMBORSATO O RICEVERE CREDITO X UN’altra prenotazione. Ho fatto delle foto!

Staff was extremely helpful and great customer service from the day I arrived to till I left ,have no complaints and can't praise enough! Will be back again and this is my go to hotel from now

i liked the ambience, breakfast was great, maid service was good, response to my request was good. Receptionist was rude, ordered me to sit down while pointing to a chair when i was registering the first day, i was told she travel takes euros only for tours, when they take lira, euros, dollars and credit card. i wanted to use credit card i was denied. had to pay 400 liras to buy euros. had problems with a/c, was not cooling the room, had problem connecting to internet, while making outside call to she travel, call was not going thru, after several attempts i called and the tech told me that i do not need to dial 212 suffix. i was charged for all those calls. receptionist should have told me that when he gave me the brochure. i did not have cash for tours, i was told to go to ATM and take money out, i asked where ATM was, receptionist was impatient and told me outside, go out and there are several ATMs. Went to several ATMs and banks as far as spice bazaar, did not get help from anybody. receptionist demanded in an impatient tone why i did not go to ATM like other people and take money out. i told him about my experience. He asked how can that be. he did not believe me. He had raised his voice, I was told that i had called too many times for one thing or the other from my room. could not use the hand held shower the first day, help had to pull the button real hard to make the handheld shower to work. locker was tempered with, my code did not work. my things were unsafe.

The hotel is extremely well located! 15min to Old city of Sultanahmet, or 3 stops on the tram across the road. Rooms are good, bathrooms slightly dated, but very well facilitated! Rooms and hotel is very clean. We were surprised as the room booking said large bed, but this was not "Queen Size" beds but actually "Double Beds" (slightly smaller than anticipated). Business or pleasure the hotel has ample facilities for housing all the requirements. Staff are very professional and helpful as well as extremely helpful, whereas Breakfast is extremely good! Would certainly recommend to others and happily stay again!

Situated in the busy Istanbul open market and close to 2 underground train stations as while as the tram system. Also close to many local cuisine restaurants. It is just close to activities, I loved it.

The hotel is located within a busy shopping district, close to a tram stop. A metro station is also within walkable distance. Road access may be a bit complicated I think. The taxi from the airport dropped me at a busy road intersection and asked me to cross 2 roads and walk up the street on the opposite side to reach the hotel.

Very convenient location. The staff was extremely friendly and helpful in every way - adding extras to our room, calling a taxi, etc. Breakfast menu varied every morning, was fresh and plentiful. We stayed in this hotel from April 26 thru May 8. No complaints

The Hotel Staff was friendly, especially the cleaning ladies were very friendly. Breakfast was also best, too many vegan and veg options along with non-veg.

A Gem in Istanbul! We cannot express enough how outstanding our experience at the Amethyst Hotel was. It offers exceptional value for all the services and amenities provided, making it a fantastic choice for anyone visiting Istanbul. The rooms, although smaller than what we are accustomed to in the U.S., were impeccably clean and equipped with all the usual amenities, including a mini-fridge and a coffee/tea maker. The overall cleanliness of the hotel was remarkable, and the property itself was visually appealing and well-maintained. One of the highlights of our stay was the breakfast buffet included in our reservation. The buffet, available every day until 10:30 AM, featured a variety of delicious foods, both hot and cold, with new options added daily. Coffee, tea, and juice were also provided, making for a delightful start to our mornings. The hotel's location is fantastic, surrounded by numerous restaurants and stores, and just a couple of minutes away from the tramway. This made it incredibly convenient for us to explore the city, as the tramway is the best way to visit many of Istanbul's attractions. The cleaning staff were kind and accommodating, ensuring our rooms were cleaned daily and replenishing necessary accessories, edibles, and bottles of water. The hotel also boasts a beautiful indoor pool available daily to guests, along with a Turkish bath and other spa services available for an additional cost. In short, we can't recommend the Amethyst Hotel enough.

Very clean, lovely helpful people working there. Breakfast could be better with more savoury pastries like butter croissants, toast option. Plenty of eating places around with authentic cuisine. Overall would definitely go back and recommend to others.
