Clean comfortable bed, hot shower, microwave, cold mini fridge, coffee maker, working TV with DirecTV. Good locks and blackout curtains. Nice reception lady. It was quiet on a Saturday night. Safe area. The parking lot does fill up later, if you leave you'll lose your spot so just walk or taxi to downtown, it's a 10 minute walk. Also walkable to Ventura pier/beach. The Kwikimart store across the street is very convenient but overpriced fyi. Good close casual dining options for fish tacos and Mexican food literally a block away: Spencer MaKenzie's Fish Co. and my personal fave, Corrales #1. It was a good stay! :)

Seriously the most run down property we have ever stayed at. It had vinyl flooring so at least no gross carpet. Curtains frayed and worn, bathroom fixtures old and funky. No light in the closet or overhead lights so it was dark, maybe a good thing with it so old and dated. On the plus side, the rooms smelled of Pinesol, and the sheets were clean, but the bed spreads were old and worn so we folded them down immediately. Mini Fridge worked fine, micro worked fine, A/C blew cold, there was a little coffee pot in room, so bring a gallon of water and extra coffee if you intend to make coffee. The one pod was not enough to get anything but colored water. The room was loud with street traffic, and what we were guessing was a family upstairs with kids who were up late into the night running around. uggg. The parking lot was well lite, but with the thin, frayed curtains we could not get the room dark. Beds were comfortable enough. Pool was not working and most likely never will be fixed. Thankfully we were only needing a bed to sleep on, and spent our time out and about. Good and affordable food options on Ventura pier which was an easy 10 minute walk, but 1/2 of it was closed so not very impressive. Quite a few picnic tables on the pier so a picnic would be an easy option for families. There were lots of convenience stores within a few miles. The price was the best thing about the inn, with rooms so expensive in the SB area, this made it affordable but it was FUNKY.

Bed and pillows very very hard, TV stuck on one channel in Spanish, air conditioner was finicky. Pool was half emptyAnd water was Green. This place is pretty gross

Their office is not staffed 24/7 as stated. Their English is rough but very kind people and professional. The building is old but it's close to the beach. Pool not working. Had to pay $20 for a late check out.

Enjoyed the location. Property needs some work. Pool was green. Had Direct tv comfortable beds

Older Motel. Very shabby. Pool empty with trash in it. Bed very lumpy. Good TV though.

This place is awful. Black mold on every wall, sink water seemed barely potable, the shower flooded and the customer service was downright nasty. Gross smelly room for way too much money. If this was $24 sure maybe, but it was $80. Screw that. There was literally a mattress in the swimming pool. Avoid.

No ice machine. Pool under repair. Bathroom shower curtain held by washcloth against wall. Cracked and peeling bath shower walls. Light bulbs missing. TV only worked one night. Mattress was comfy and sheets very clean. This was like a highway motel time forgot. $134 for 2 nights. Never again. Expedia has Motel listings like this ??? Using Expedia never again.

My TV didn’t work, unable to connect to WiFi, and the cold water knob in the shower was broken so it was tricky showering and not getting too hot. The place could be so cute if they just fixed up the bathrooms and replaced the molding in the rooms.

What a dump! My room reeked of cigarettes! The sheets had stains! Everything in the room was rusted. The towels were old and musty! Disgusting! Don’t stay here!!

Ancient deteriorated property. Seems to have bed bugs. Suggest avoiding unless your have zero other options.

Linens looked soiled. Chair had a nasty stain. Shower tiles cracked. Water pressure was poor.

We checked in and left motel and came back at night. We turned on the lights and the room came alive with cockroaches. We called Hotels.com & the front desk wouldn\'t answer so customer service told me to go to the front desk. The older lady at the front desk accused me of bringing in the roaches because they don\'t have roaches. She kept calling us "you people" (my daughter is Chinese) We were kicked out of the motel & I had to go to another hotel that cost me $300. Hotels.com never refunded my money for this motel. The customer service lady just kep saying sorry. We have it all on video.

Bed bugs cockroaches a little remote control didn't work. The TV didn't work. There was black mold in the bathroom. The door didn't lock. Wouldn't go back

The place looked clean bit my friend and i ended getting bit by bedbugs. We told the property manager but she said i was lying. I showed her the bites on my arm and neck and she said rhey spray every day, which isnt true.

First, it shows a hotel with no good look, the terrible lobby, when entering the room we killed a cockroach and a huge spider in the shower , the room in very bad conditions, the bathroom was going very slow, we had to drop the water twice to flow, If there were the window of the show there is no privacy, you can see inside and the steam accumulates if we don’t open the window , the shower door did not have a the mirror of the broken shower etc, the door of the bedroom don’t have lock

There were bugs everywhere (roaches) the front seat lady was very very rude do no recommend going here will never go here again..

I’m so mad at Expedia for recommending a roach motel. Hairs left everywhere in the room, including in the shower. Weird stains everywhere. Burn holes in blanket. Moldy/ crusty shower door.

Not the property, but the tv was in perpetual loop of update-restart-reboot-etc., Ok, got a smart phone. Shower door was so mis-aligned the door would not close... and swung open via gravity. I should have got a bungie chord to attach the door to the faucet!

I stayed 4 nights. Parking was a breeze and close walking location to Ventura Pier (ocean) was nice. Motel is more meager than what I am used to. The property is older, shower is small, and there's no soundproofing between the walls. However, for a basic place to stay that's cheaper than alternatives, it met my needs. Would stay again.

Staff were really helpful, room and decor tired and the TV didn't work. Having said that it was clean and comfortable

The lady at the front desk was wonderful. The building is old and outdated. The ac didn’t work, the bed sheets and covers were dirty and the wooden floor was cracked and missing planks. The planks were short and lifting. $30 more for the 6 would have been worth it. But strange thing is I went out in the morning and there were Lexus and Porches parked and they were staying there also.

The door had as much security as my bathroom door at home. Door was very old and required a great deal of pushing to get open. Fixtures were just very old.

It has not been upgraded for about 40 years. It’s a mess. Scary. Thought I was going to fall thru to the 1st floor from our 2nd story room. Definitely not safe

The room was old. The wall paper is coming of the walls. There were no light bulbs in the lamps and no batteries in the remotes. I asked for an extra blanket and was told it's impossible to get. One of the nights there were no hot water. It was the slowest internet I experienced since dial up AOL. That I had to ask for. The guests next door made a lot of noise, the walls are paper thin.

This is a what you see is what you get situation. Ok family run situation. Shower leaked… bathroom window had handprints from the outside…. It’s what you’re expecting for the rates. Feels a bit sketchy, the deadbolt didn’t work. Otherwise it was fine. Cigarette burn on the comforter. Bed was decent. Mismatched furniture. Remote on the tv didn’t work. That is to say this all within the expected realm of 65$ a night.

Rude Indian lady at check in. Very odd behavior at first. Lied about the internet. Did nothing when a noisy guest was yelling on the phone on the middle of the night, on the parking lot - for hours! Called my husband a "trouble" at check out (for no reason) and refused to give him receipt. The motel looks like a house on cardboard.

Front desk staff were rude and refused to give me my change after I paid.

I made a reservation on Wednesday and they canceled it around 2:20-2:40 pm, working, I couldn't find out until it was time to register and they told me there are no rooms available and you have to leave without giving me any option. I had to be looking for a room with my son at 10 pm.. According to his cancellation it was because he declined my card but it is false. What a terrible service they do not respect and do not give attention to their clients.

Be warned. We had a terrible stay here. At check-in, the guy in front of me asked for a towel. The front desk boss argued with him for many minutes and refused to give him a towel. He left in exasperation. When we wanted a receipt, the boss told us we could get one at check-out. At check-out the next day at 9.45am, the office was closed. There was no way to get a receipt. We asked one of the workers. He said the boss would be back in 25 minutes. We dropped the keys in a slot and left. If you want a cheap rate, fine, book it. But the room was filthy and the boss rude. Never again.

Service was very good. I had two issues at first. After I made these known they were both handled quickly and completely.

Front lady was very rude And took our money

At check in, the older woman was looking at my license saying it was not me. Then she says she has to charge me more than originally told. My children and I were very tired, just wanted to hurry and get the room key. Room 115. Couldn’t find it. Finally found it next to a mechanical closet and tossed out sitting chair. Once inside, we noticed the door only had a bottom lock where I just opened with my key. There was no safety latches. No deadbolt. We did not feel safe. The TV was broken. The windows were barred. My husband decided to talk to the older lady to see if there was another room. The older lady said no one has complained about not having a deadbolt and safety latches. She degraded my husband by saying if you don’t understand, the housekeeper speaks Spanish. My husband expressed we do not feel safe, The older lady said you can find someplace else and I’ll offer refund. So we left the room with our belongings, went to get our refund. The old lady denied ever offering a refund. Then proceeded to charge me for the second night, even though it was a separate booking. At check in, she said I would have to come back tomorrow and register the second separate booking, but proceeded to charge me, even though we are leaving. She said that we can take it up with our bank. I would never recommend this place to anyone.Very sheisty, degrading, untrusting of people and very aggressive old lady. We ended up staying at Best Western Ventura Pier. Would highly recommend them.

Easily the rudest, most confrontational, and unprofessional front desk or ANY customer service I have witnessed. Book a stay just to marvel at how badly a person can do their job.

Honestly the rooms are pretty clean. But old and beat up for sure. the price was great, And it's like a block and a half from the pier and downtown. There's a fish taco place right down the street. A pizza place. Ventura is amazing.

It is a block from the beach, and also within walking distance to a nice coffee shop, convenience stores, restaurants, and downtown Ventura. The cleanliness of the room wasn't bad overall. It was clean. There was no free breakfast and also no laundry or hair dryer. But also, you can't complain about location or price. It's nothing fancy but also staying there for 4 nights only cost me $300. I would definitely stay again given I needed a budget motel in southern California. The staff was friendly as well, the lady at the front was pretty funny and laid back. All in all, not a terrible place to stay...as I said...I knew it was a budget motel.

Close to main Street, affordable and convenient

It's nice to know that there are still old and cheap motels on the California coast. This motel is in a great area for exploring Ventura cute little coastal town in California. That being said don't expect much from staff or service. They did let me check my bags in early but with much effort on my part. The bed was not great. But it was in walking distance of downtown and the waterfront. Lots of restaurants around. For the price this was a good value for the California coast. But if you want something a little bit more nice don't stay here it's definitely two star.

All good for a budget lodging. No complimentary breakfast. Convenient location.

The staff is very friendly and accommodating. The property is in a good location. Definitely walking distance to the pier and Main Street. There you will find many places to eat and shop.

Even though the property was on a main street, the room was very quiet. I enjoyed eating my dinner on the table they have available outside. Easy walk to downtown Ventura.

I was visiting a friend in Ventura, and decided to stay the night in the area at the last minute. I went on Expedia and booked a room here 20 minutes before my arrival at 10:30pm. The staff was friendly. The room as a little cold because the bathroom window was left open, but overall i'm pleased with the facility. It's centrally located, with a mini market across the street, and walking distance to Corrales Mexican Food, where I had the top 5 breakfast burritos i've ever had. Walking distance to the pier via the walkway that goes over the 101 freeway. Parking is convenient, and they even let me park there after checkout while I walked to Corrales for breakfast. Rooms were clean, with a flat screen tv and fridge. The only mild negative is that during my stay there was some noise in the morning, preventing me from sleeping in, but if you're looking for an affordable room to crash at for the night, this is a good option!
