The entrance is somewhat underwhelming because of it being in a street with mostly walls and occasional entry doors. Once inside you realize you are in a very old hacienda. Was told it was from the 1680's. The rooms are unlike what you will see in modern hotels. But charming. Also great view of Cusco from the balcony. Only negative is lack of elevators ( but only 2 floors) and lack of outlets near the beds to charge phones etc. Small vegetable/herb garden in the courtyard.

This charmingly rustic property is located a short walk from Plaza de Armas. After being uncomfortably cold for several nights in another Cusco location even with a heater turned on, we were pleasantly surprised our room was so warm that the included heater wasn't even needed. The shower has amazing pressure and plenty of hot water. Breakfast included in the rate is far beyond expectations, as are amenities like thick robes and quality toilet paper. The English-speaking staff is so kind and helpful. Without hesitation we recommend El Balcon for those who enjoy staying in an authentic location that reflects the country's culture.

Very safe hotel (main door to road is always locked-staff buzz you in), great bed, dark room for sleeping, charming courtyard, hot shower, friendly staff, lovely breakfast. We only had breakfast one of two days because we left at 4:30 am on second day (we were not offered a takeaway breakfast, but not expecting it either). The outdoor walking paths are wonderful but could be difficult for individuals with poor footing. The door to the room was initially a little finicky to close-but was easier with practice. Great view!!

Endroit charmant avec une très belle vue de notre suite. Le petit déjeuner est très bien et servi dans un beau petit coin de l’établissement. Nous avons été un peu saisi par le froid mais à chaque jour, le personnel venait allumer un feu dans le poêle à bois ce qui rendait l’endroit très confortable et encore plus charmant. Je recommande fortement pour une expérience rustique et authentique!

This awsome little hotel is perfect for someone looking for a vibe. It is small, quaint and friendly. It has some historic charm and the gardens are beautiful. I especially loved all the lanterns everywhere and the old doors and windows.

Tout est joli, notre chambre côté jardin offre tous les accessiores requies pour notre séjour. La salle a manger est de type 'chalet' et on y offre les boissons chaudes en tout temps. Très sympa et pratique.

A propriedade fica em uma boa localização na cidade, fácil acesso a diversos restaurantes e loja e ao centro histórico! O atendimento é muito bom, as pessoas são todas muito atenciosas! Em geral os quartos são bem confortáveis! Minha única reclamação é que o banheiro poderia ter um pouco mais de ventilação, mas pode ser que seja um problema do quarto que fiquei. Fora isso, tudo foi ótimo!

The physical location in an old traditional house is great. Food was awesome. Rooms needed more places to store or hang clothes. Biggest negative was bathroom. The steam from the shower would accumulate and condense in the skylight. Then it dripped on you as you stood at the sink, brushing teeth, washing hands, etc. As a result, it had a very dank, unpleasant smell.

The rooms were fabulously clean, comfortable beds, the staff was super friendly, and the courtyard was beautiful. It was a noisy street, but that seemed to be a consistent everywhere in Cusco. Easy walk to the main square. The balcony was a great place to sit and enjoy the view.

Rooms were simple but had a nice design. The common area gardens were lovely. Comfortable beds and linens. Breakfast was fresh and had high quality ingredients. Staff was friendly. I booked ahead of time and got a good price and value.

Good service, beautiful property. Rooms are freezing cold and the small heater they provide does absolutely nothing. Never been so cold in a hotel before. Not worth the price per room either honestly.

Warm welcome, excellent service, cleanless, water&tea available 24/7, complimentary apples in the room, great help with emergency situation. This is subjective, but we felt chilly in the room and had to use heaters. Average temperature in the room was 18 degrees Celsius without the heater.

I thought that for the price of the suite, you would at least have wifi and adequate heating. I could not sleep unless the fire was going as it was so cold. I slept with my hoodie and sweats on additionally to multiple blankets I had asked for. There was also lots of noise at night which would wake me up every few hours. It was a very cute hotel and the food was quite good. Service was very kind. It’s about a fifteen minute walk down/up a steep hill to get to restaurants. Overall a very nice hotel if you’re paying a cheaper price, I wouldn’t bother with the suite.

This property is stunning. We stayed 3 nights at a 5 star prior to a trek, and stayed our last evening at El Balcon when we returned to Cusco. We are already planning our next trip and this hotel is our first choice. We stayed in 18, the balcony suite on the corner. The fireplace was loaded and set up when we arrived and the room was gorgeous. The decor was STUNNING. The shower was hot and water pressure was fantastic. The breakfast was delicious. Fresh juice, amazing guacamole, homemade butter and jam. The staff were the most thoughtful people we’d met in Peru. We felt very welcome. Can’t recommend this hotel enough.

Beautiful true gem. It really exceeded my expectations. Location was great, near all the restaurants and a couple of blocks from main square. Authentic 1700’s family hotel with all the charm of a real Cusco historic home. Rooms comfortable, very roomy (we got the family suite). Staff there was very helpful and friendly, big thanks to the nice ladies that run the kitchen during breakfast time and went above and beyond to make sure we enjoyed their delicious meals. Highly recommended!

Lovely rustic and cozy hotel right in the heart of the city center. The restaurant had excellent food and the staff was all very pleasant.Easily walkable. Close to the train station and airport. My only complaint was the wi-fi signal in the hotel room was poor, though it worked fine in the common areas and restaurant.

Very friendly and attentive staff, helped us book taxis as needed, breakfast buffet was high quality and included made-to-order eggs or pancakes, and close to the city center. Plus the view of the city from the second level is so beautiful.

From the outside this property is unassuming. Once you enter, it’s a whole other world. The staff were friendly and Juanita’s brownies hit the spot. The hotel is quaint and unique. The staff provided an early morning snack to go for our early tour departure. They held luggage for other travelers as well. The location is within a walking distance of the main square, restaurants and shopping. Highly recommend!

My friend and I loved the property, super cute for a fair price. The staff was so nice and the breakfast very tasty and healthy, they work just with organic products from the area which made the experience unique. The location is fairly close to the main plaza. We highly recommend El Balcón.

Maria at reception is the best! She helped our family with coordinating transportation and finding out information about Cusco. All of the staff were friendly and kind. The rooms and property are beautiful and extremely well maintained. The meals in the restaurant were delicious and a full breakfast was provided.

I don’t often leave reviews but this is an awesome place to stay if you plan to be out exploring Cusco. Comfortable beds, clean rooms, great breakfast and away from the traffic. Quiet location but only a 5 minute walk to the main square and city centre. Small thing to consider, if you have a lot of luggage or bags on wheels some routes include stairs. Highly recommend. Cheers!

We stayed there for 2 nights. Breakfast was good and fresh. The hotel is located on a very busy street. It was noisy during the day and night. If you are light sleeper, i wouldn't recommend this place. The bathroom does not have a vent. And they only provide a shampoo/body wash, no hair conditioner. The room does not have a wall heater. They only provide a portable heater for the room which was not enough to heat the room at night. I dont think this place was worth the money. Also the sign at the front of the hotel showing it is a hostal

Really great location and adorable place with a lot of charm. The staff was great and helpful, the breakfast was good, and they help our bags overnight for our one night trip to Aqua Calientes. Highly recommend! Only small issue was that our room for our second night was just next to the road, so we could hear cars rumbling down the cobble stones all night. If you're a light sleeper, it might be worth requesting a room on the other side of the courtyard.

Beautiful true gem. It really exceeded my expectations. Location was great, near all the restaurants and a couple of blocks from main square. Authentic 1700’s family hotel with all the charm of a real Cusco historic home. Rooms comfortable, very roomy (we got the family suite). Staff there was very helpful and friendly, big thanks to the nice ladies that run the kitchen during breakfast time and went above and beyond to make sure we enjoyed their delicious meals. Highly recommended!

This hotel was beautifully restored and maintained. It is in a great location - close to the city's plaza - which makes walking around and exploring Cusco great. There is also a full jug of clean water in the lobby at any time, which allows for easy drinking. The staff was accommodating and kind, and allowed us to store our bags during the Incan trail.

Ubicación excelente, hay que tomar en consideración solo que hay muchas gradas para llegar pero todo súper bien, personal muy amable y limpieza extrema me encanto, baño caliente y fueron muy amables para guardar equipaje Nos encantó. The house is so beautiful. The restaurant is amazing: organic foods, good seasoning. They provided us comfort dinner after our Inca trail. All the staffs are so so nice and helpful. They kept our suitcase during the Inca trail. Our journey couldn’t be more satisfying without them.

Excelente calidad/precio a solo 3 cuadras de la plaza de armas, su desayuno bufé es ¡espectacular! El pan hecho en el hotel, en general todo el alimento es fresco, nada industrial y el personal es de otro nivel, la cocinera Juanita que te atiende mejor que en casa.

I loved staying at this hotel! The staff were so friendly and helpful. The rooms were clean and cozy, the bathrooms very modern! I loved the atmosphere of the hotel overall, a quiet garden oasis. The staff were very nice. However, the sheets and towels although looked washed but they were spotted. I didn’t like that. The room was very cold and it only had a small movable heater. Breakfast was good. It was very close to the stadium and we were able to hear all the screaming. So it wasn’t quite.

A great little gem not far from the historical centre. Other then being prepared to walk up steep hills and it being somewhat cold in the rooms, this hotel ticked all the boxes. We had a great stay!
