No hot water the first day I was there, was not able to shower. Was not offered any type of compensation or even an apology. Parking is an extra $12 per day, which you dont find out until AFTER you pay for a non-refundable room. Overall its a nice place, but those 2 things are irritating, especially the no hot water.

The pool was closed for maintenance, but there was conflicting guidance on the closure (one door had a closed sign and the other did not) and it also varied depending on who you asked.

The BlackHawk was a charming, older, but renovated hotel. Its location was ideal for attending a downtown Davenport event at the next door Adler theater. I found the staff at the hotel reception desk, Bix Bistro and the Coffee Shop to be very helpful and friendly. For an Autograph Hotel, however, there was some room for improvement in several areas: rooms had no recycle bin (not eco-friendly), no makeup or magnified mirror, ice machine broken had to call for room delivery, room had no pens or pads of paper available for notes. Perhaps most disappointing was inadequate staff at the in-house Bix Bistro. We had to wait almost 10 minutes for a receptionist to show up at the restaurant reception desk to seat us for our reservation, and the few staff available (though friendly, apologetic, and efficient) were simply not enough to take and deliver orders promptly (the bar area was well staffed, not the restaurant). Because of these delays we did not have time to order a full meal before the concert, although the appetizers we did order were delicious. I felt sorry for the wait staff who were doing the best they could with insufficient help.

The pool and hot tub were closed which was disappointing. The thermostat in our room wasn't working properly. We called the front desk and they said they would send someone up. Nobody came. We called back an hour later after waiting in the heated room. The told us to turn it off and on again to get it working. We did that for the rest of our stay. Also our room seem to be missing a chair or a couch. Our room number was 315. We have stayed here before and loved it....this time not so much

Where do I start? Everything is closed for repair or has signs, everywhere that say do not use. Everything is broken. Martini lounge, closed. Bowling alley, under repair. Hot tub / pool, under repair. Spa, closed on Mondays. Did get told to walk a couple of blocks to the sister hotel though? Weird. The gym, cable machine under repair. The weight bench, duct taped, broken and old. Pretty unsafe. Might want to put an OUT OF ORDER sign on that too... because why not at this point? Just got back to our room from lunch. At first we tried ordering the Chicken Bahn Me sandwich and were told it shouldnt still be on the menu. Shocker, something else out of order. Ordered 2, different, sandwiches and 2 salads. Both salads were wrong and one sandwich. WE WERE LITERALLY THE ONLY PEOPLE THERE. The server said "the cook was new". Literally two orders. Neither the cook nor the SERVER caught it? I could tell the server knew. Don't have guests correct your mistakes. We did however hear the server complain about tips today. Again, after you screwed up the only order in the building at the time. Classy. The fridge in our room was struggling to get cold, so we pulled it out a bit and there's piles of garbage behind it. The shower was luke warm at best and it takes awhile for the sink to drain. The rooms are old which is kind of cool, but there's little things you could do to improve them. Make sure they are clean and maybe touch some stuff up with paint.

Our stay was really great other than the fact that we had to change rooms after unpacking all of our things because your heat in our room wasn't working and it was the middle of winter. We couldn't swim because the pool was under construction. There is a bowling alley in the basement, but when we went down to reserve Lanes, there was a party that had rented the whole thing out, so my kids were very disappointed. We were therefore a dance competition, so there wasn't a lot of time to leave and go do other things. The staff was nice and accommodating, though. The hotel itself is absolutely beautiful! It definitely help to make up for what we were missing out on. We will definitely stay again. Hopefully the pool will be up and running!

Hotel Blackhawk is a lovely, clean, renovated property, with kind and cooperative staffing -- from front desk to engineering to housekeeping -- and beautifully appointed guest rooms. Where Blackhawk falls down is 1) very poor wifi service; 2) just average breakfast food quality; 3) ease or exiting the parking lot -- the parking is convenience, but the exit process is not. We would stay there again. We were very comfortable.

Our toilet paper holder broke in our room. The door in our bathroom was slamming . We had a few spots in our room that was dirty. And more importantly we came for the pool and it was closed . What a disappointment!

The place was nothing like the photos or reviews as presented. The hotel was actually a dated and unclean mess. The main entrance is messy and unkept (broken floor tiles, worn fixtures and decor, etc.). The parlor room was disappointing. Seemed like it wasn’t used or maintained in a while (stale smelling, dusty, crap hanging from the ceiling, finger prints on the windows, leaking toilet, dirt on the floors, used Q-Tips on the floor between the bed and the wall). Was very disappointed and disgusted. Two Thumbs Down, way Down !! 👎👎

Seemed to be very understaffed. Kitchen slow to get food out. Service at bar slow. Did not even stay for breakfast as one waitstaff for 15 tables. Half of them not bused and meals were coming out slowly. One table of 4 got 2 breakfasts, then one 2 minutes later and the last a coup[le of minutes later. Never even got coffe for 10 minutes and just left and ate on the road. Restaurant was out of wings, french fries and coffee pods for the room. Bathroom floor and shower needed cleaning and tile not good in some areas of the shower. Most disappointing Marriott stay in our memory.

The hotel is a beautiful art deco building and must have been quite the place to stay in its day. However, it is now a bit rough around the edges- the lady at check wasn’t very friendly, swimming pool was closed, the room was clean and comfortable but the view out the window was so disappointing- make sure you don’t get an ‘inside’ room! Towels in the bathroom were old and frayed - see photos! Disappointing. But we had an excellent meal in town at a restaurant called The Half Nelson!

Shower amenities were empty, the sheets were dirty and had blood stains in various spots. Room service was the worst, like they didn’t want to be there. We let the front desk know the next morning and he looked like he didn’t care or heard the complaints too many times.

My bathroom was not very clean. Showerhead had so much calcium it only shot out the sides. The tv in the mirror did not work. The fan in the bathroom didn’t work so it was very humid.

The hotel was lovely, but the lighting in the room and bath was too dim. Older adults often have eye problems that make low lighting difficult. At least give us the option on turning it higher. Also, we were in room 316, terrible view, and the air conditioner blows on the bed. Lots of hotels do this and we can't figure out why. Otherwise, lovely hotel.

Could use a refresh of the rooms. Beautiful older building but my carpet was lifting in two places, blinds were looking aged. And the lobby was packed with loud yelling kids everywhere. And party bikes pedaling by on the street below all night that you could hear on the 4th floor.

The hotel Itself was beautiful. Checking in was a little confusing as we entered from the parking lot side entrance. Clean rooms, luxurious sheets. Tv in mirror in bathroom nice touch. Breakfast was ok on their onsite restaurant.

The pool and hot tub were closed which was disappointing. The thermostat in our room wasn't working properly. We called the front desk and they said they would send someone up. Nobody came. We called back an hour later after waiting in the heated room. The told us to turn it off and on again to get it working. We did that for the rest of our stay. Also our room seem to be missing a chair or a couch. Our room number was 315. We have stayed here before and loved it....this time not so much

There wasn’t a blow dryer in the room. The bathroom was cramped and tile felt dirty. We were suppose to have a city view but had a view of rooftop mechanicals and other guest rooms.

Disapointed that the pool was closed down the kids were looking forward to it. The heat in the room was set to 71 but never got there and blew cold air and the picture showed a bathtub and the room did not have one. Is a neat very clean building love the view of the city from the 8th floor. The room was oddly shaped in a horseshoe. 2 queen beds not soft very firm hard matresses. Recommend staying in the king suite next time. Those have the jetted tubs. Check in was very slow only had one person working. Also they were just putting up the christmas decorations so 2 ladders were just up and in the way. The parade was today those should have been up to coincide with the event and keep the clutter out of customers way. Also $12 for parking in the parking lot is just rude, there was no reinforcement of such or anything to put in your window to show you paid or that you were a hotel customer.

Hotel Blackhawk is a lovely, clean, renovated property, with kind and cooperative staffing -- from front desk to engineering to housekeeping -- and beautifully appointed guest rooms. Where Blackhawk falls down is 1) very poor wifi service; 2) just average breakfast food quality; 3) ease or exiting the parking lot -- the parking is convenience, but the exit process is not. We would stay there again. We were very comfortable.

There are enough good features that I plan to give this hotel another chance. Lovely historic hotel in downtown Davenport. However, the hotel is missing some usual amenities (e.g., bottled water in the room) and is short staffed (where was the staff when we had a question upon checking out?)

When I arrived I did not get a good welcome. Just the opposite. No one explained how anything worked. I had to haul my luggage up by myself after figuring out how to use the elevator! No one showed me the amenities in the room. Once again a guessing game. The room was clean and the bed was marvelous. But I never felt noticed. I was traveling alone to close my mother’s estate. Not a warm friendly place.

The service was awful. Maid never came. Slept in unmade room, they didn't empty garbage, etc. Restaurant was understaffed, one server. Employees were lathargic. Very cold unwelcoming feeling. Sad, for such a glorious old bones property. Was much better years back. One good plus was chef, and evening bartender. That may have been only employees on property that served us.

The BlackHawk was a charming, older, but renovated hotel. Its location was ideal for attending a downtown Davenport event at the next door Adler theater. I found the staff at the hotel reception desk, Bix Bistro and the Coffee Shop to be very helpful and friendly. For an Autograph Hotel, however, there was some room for improvement in several areas: rooms had no recycle bin (not eco-friendly), no makeup or magnified mirror, ice machine broken had to call for room delivery, room had no pens or pads of paper available for notes. Perhaps most disappointing was inadequate staff at the in-house Bix Bistro. We had to wait almost 10 minutes for a receptionist to show up at the restaurant reception desk to seat us for our reservation, and the few staff available (though friendly, apologetic, and efficient) were simply not enough to take and deliver orders promptly (the bar area was well staffed, not the restaurant). Because of these delays we did not have time to order a full meal before the concert, although the appetizers we did order were delicious. I felt sorry for the wait staff who were doing the best they could with insufficient help.

Seemed to be very understaffed. Kitchen slow to get food out. Service at bar slow. Did not even stay for breakfast as one waitstaff for 15 tables. Half of them not bused and meals were coming out slowly. One table of 4 got 2 breakfasts, then one 2 minutes later and the last a coup[le of minutes later. Never even got coffe for 10 minutes and just left and ate on the road. Restaurant was out of wings, french fries and coffee pods for the room. Bathroom floor and shower needed cleaning and tile not good in some areas of the shower. Most disappointing Marriott stay in our memory.

This is a lovely hotel. They originally gave us the wrong room, but was quick to correct the situation. They also gave us complimentary drink tickets for our trouble. Extremely clean and the staff was exceptional! I would recommend this hotel and we would stay there again.

Area around hotel had many homeless begging people for things and was kinda dirty. Hotel was very nice. Room was exceptional!!! We were disappointed that the pool was closed along with the hot tub for renovations. This was not shown on the Internet when we booked. This was a big reason why we booked this hotel. However……the staff, especially Stephen and Robert helped make up for that!! Long story short, our car broke down on our way to Davenport and they held our luggage and drove us to get our rentals. They really helped us out without hesitation!! This really made our life easier and feel alot better about getting on the road to our next destination. For that reason we will be coming back!! Hopefully on our next trip the pool and got tub will be open!! If you want more details feel free to contact me at 17737825474. We always like to recognize great service!!

The Blackhawk is a vintage property by the Mississippi River. It has good amenities and is in a very walkable, quiet neighbourhood. Great beds and rooms are clean, however it's showing it's age and could use some updating.

This is a little pricey hotel. We booked this through Expedia. When we looked at the pictures, they showed a pool, jacuzzi, and ammenties in the basement, such as bowling. When we checked in, they said the pool was not working, neither the jacuzzi. Well, that was a couple of negatives. He assured as that there we bowling and things in the basement. But, when we went down there later, a lady greeted us at the door and said this was a private party so we could not enjoy the bowling nor the martini bar. The restrooms by the main bar were not in service, so that made things a little inconvienient. Good old hotel, but for what you pay, and advertise, things should be working or should get a reduced price. They said the website had these, but since we purchased through Expedia it didnt show us this. Also, the nail in the coffin was the Sunday brunch was not going on as well. Unfortunately, we probably will not be back. 3 strikes, and you are out.

The bartender charged me $38 for one drink of tequila sour. She explained that they charge Patron (tequila) per oz but failed to disclosed this prior to making the drink. Also, I was not made aware how much Patron she put in my drink. My bad for assuming roughly how much a Tequila sour costs as I’ve ordered this from the other bars. One would think if a drink cost this much they would let the customer know prior to making the drink. I would never stay in this hotel or visit their bar again due to this experience.

It really does not get more gorgeous and inviting than this hotel. I had a steak at the bar, the quality was phenomenal and the service was excellent. Wonderful stay. Will definitely be back.

Seemed to be very understaffed. Kitchen slow to get food out. Service at bar slow. Did not even stay for breakfast as one waitstaff for 15 tables. Half of them not bused and meals were coming out slowly. One table of 4 got 2 breakfasts, then one 2 minutes later and the last a coup[le of minutes later. Never even got coffe for 10 minutes and just left and ate on the road. Restaurant was out of wings, french fries and coffee pods for the room. Bathroom floor and shower needed cleaning and tile not good in some areas of the shower. Most disappointing Marriott stay in our memory.

Hotel Blackhawk is a lovely, clean, renovated property, with kind and cooperative staffing -- from front desk to engineering to housekeeping -- and beautifully appointed guest rooms. Where Blackhawk falls down is 1) very poor wifi service; 2) just average breakfast food quality; 3) ease or exiting the parking lot -- the parking is convenience, but the exit process is not. We would stay there again. We were very comfortable.

When i first arrived i was not properly greeted and when i was it was not pleasant, the room i booked had a picture of the jetted tub and thats the very reason i booked it. However when i arrived at Blackhawk hotel i didnt feel welcome and i checked in i rmemeber book a specific room based on the oictures i seen on hotels.com and when i asked if my room had the jetted tub,as confirmation, the rep said "no and i cannt change your room because it was booked thru 3rd party!" SO i didnt say anything, but i didnt not get the room i booked and the hot tub in the pool area didn't work our ice machine on the 3rd floor didnt work either. It was not workth the money and the staff was not friendly at all..

My friend and I stayed last night and from the minute we walked in the door to check in I think his name was Stephen was so warm and welcoming. The check in process was so smooth and quick. He explained everything to us about the parking and how to get in and out. We checked out this morning and he was still working the desk which was a pleasant surprise. He greeted me again and ask how everything was and thanked us for staying with them. He is a wonderful worker that is great with guest. We loved the hotel and will be back again!

We stayed at this hotel 2 years ago. More complimentary amenities were offered then, including free/reduced parking and a complimentary drink for adults. It was disappointing to not have these offered this stay. The hotel itself was in overall good condition, though the wallpaper in our bathroom was peeling off and the hot tub water was warm at best. For the luxury feel of parts of the facility it would be great if the property was better maintained. The location was perfect for participating in the Bix 7 race. The staff was friendly but the night staff struggled a bit with our directions to provide a key to one of our group who was arriving late (we were assured by the daytime staff it would be okay as long as we noted their name and they provided ID). It all worked out in the end.
