The entire staff was so kind and welcoming. We stayed here for 3 nights and we wish we stayed longer. The beauty of the estate was absolutely breathtaking and you will feel like it is your home. Our room had a view of the Cathedral which was absolutely gorgeous. The pools, the grounds, the restaurant are impeccable. Make sure you have dinner at their restaurant as the food and service are top notch. The Malecon is a very short 2 minute walk which we loved. Make sure you wear sneakers as there are cobblestone streets and stairs. I can not recommend this boutique hotel enough. 5 stars all the way. We will be back!!

The place is quite unique with its opulent colonial ambience. The property has quite a selection of 17th-19th century European and Mexican antiques. The 3 pools were clean and relaxing. The dinner with an authentic mariachi band was truly a memorable experience. The staff was very friendly and attentive to our needs.

The hacienda is a beautiful place, with historic charm and very well maintained. We arrived on a Friday, parking is a challenge, it would be great if they had valet parking or best to use a taxi. The staff is friendly and we stayed at the San Miguel presidential suite. It’s the best room with so much space and a balcony bigger than most apartments. You get 270 degree view of the city, mountain and ocean and my God what a view. The food options in the restaurant are fantastic, and they have a mariachi band playing during dinner. The mariachi band sang beautifully and I appreciated that they weren’t obnoxiously loud, interrupting a perfectly nice dinner. I had a great experience, make sure to experience every corner of the hacienda, the details and architecture are so beautiful. Thanks to the owners and staff for maintaining this hidden gem, we will be back soon.

Incredible property! Like a magical garden. If you're looking for a quiet, romantic stay, then this is your oasis. A boutique hotel with only 10 rooms, we sometimes felt like the only two guests on the property. There are hidden terraces and quiet reading corners, exquisite artwork and water features, and the rooms are unique and comfortable. But the service trumps it all; the staff go above and beyond to make you feel at home, they never miss a beat. A special thank you to Luiz and Norma for their kindness and hospitality! The property has an amazing gourmet restaurant, and the Italian place across the road is breathtaking. The area is a steep walk to the Malecón, but the 3 blocks through decorated gardens are an absolute delight, and they're lined with unique shops and quaint little restaurants. Safe and well lit after dark. 5 stars all around. Bring your partner here, you will not regret it!

From the moment we were greeted at the door we felt at home. Lovely, lovely small hotel with interesting history. Every person working here was so pleasant and accommodating. The mgr. has some very sweet , small rescue pups she brings to work and they were a pleasure. We were greeted each morning by Luis who took the time to talk with us and remembered how we liked our morning coffee and he just made us feel so welcome each time we saw him. I highly recommend this lovely hotel. If you do t stay here you should save a night to enjoy dinner in their rooftop restaurant for delicious food, fine service, amazing sunset and live music.

This please is a ripoff for the price they charged and what they offered. The rooms are basic, broken fixtures, old grave condition linens and little privacy. Location is difficult to get to by car since it is locating on a narrow street up on the hill behind the church. Staff were not enthusiastic, breakfast was just coffee and fruits. I would not recommend paying US$970+ to stay here per night.

Wonderful oasis tucked into the Romantic Zone/Old Town area. Food is amazing for breakfast and dinner. Service is amazing also. A couple of issues with the door to my room and the toilet flushing that were addressed when brought to their attention. Charming and historical feel with lots of art pieces and beautiful grounds.

While I left my thoughts directly with the staff, and while I think this property is incredible, unique, and appealing in many ways, in light of all the accolades in other reviews this far, I thought it might be worthwhile to point out a few things for other potential guests to be aware of. If you are an aged person or have any sort of physical disability at all, be mindful that to leave this property it is near the top of a very steep hill. I would select a room on the ground level, too. Rooms adjacent to a pool area will be loud simply with guests conversations. If you're more of a morning person and like to get to bed earlier, the live music in the dining room didn't end early. It is a very old building filled with religious artifacts and art if that matters to you. I can't speak for all rooms, but our room had a very old mattress that was excruciatingly uncomfortable- for this reason alone I would not return for a stay as we both tossed and turned all night and got a horrible sleep. It was once a pillow top, but the pillow long ago deflated. If I were judging the hotel's value based on the atmosphere, beauty, upkeep and service alone, I would say it's fair. But the horrible mattress and terrible night's sleep (a hotel's ultimate job) was so bad that I couldn't bare to stay there another night. Given the prices of a stay, a quality mattress shouldn't be an issue.

This is a charming hotel. We enjoyed our stay very much but I don’t believe the rooms were worth what we paid. For us, it was $2000cad for 2 nights, incl taxes. The bed was extremely hard so that was an issue for us, but some prefer it that way I would assume. The ambiance is beautiful and the restaurant was fabulous and a gorgeous view. In short, beautiful but overpriced.

The hacienda is a beautiful place, with historic charm and very well maintained. We arrived on a Friday, parking is a challenge, it would be great if they had valet parking or best to use a taxi. The staff is friendly and we stayed at the San Miguel presidential suite. It’s the best room with so much space and a balcony bigger than most apartments. You get 270 degree view of the city, mountain and ocean and my God what a view. The food options in the restaurant are fantastic, and they have a mariachi band playing during dinner. The mariachi band sang beautifully and I appreciated that they weren’t obnoxiously loud, interrupting a perfectly nice dinner. I had a great experience, make sure to experience every corner of the hacienda, the details and architecture are so beautiful. Thanks to the owners and staff for maintaining this hidden gem, we will be back soon.

Gorgeous property well appointed in the downtown area. Convenient to walk everywhere. Great service. Our room San Jose had the best view. We were offered upgrade to another room but we could not let go if the view so got a bottle of wine instead for Expedia VIP. Only negative was the church bell so close but I tend it out.

Absolutely loved San Angela from the moment you walk in your awe struck with beauty and architecture. The whole staff was friendly and welcoming the entire time. The location is perfect for shopping and dinning. We didn’t rent a car this time and honestly probably wouldn’t have used it. unless you really wanted to go somewhere further away or down the coast every thing you need is a short 6-8min walk. There is a lot of stairs to get down to the boardwalk or ocean but they are totally doable and get easier with time and practice. Would 💯 recommend the hacienda to everyone.

Wonderful oasis tucked into the Romantic Zone/Old Town area. Food is amazing for breakfast and dinner. Service is amazing also. A couple of issues with the door to my room and the toilet flushing that were addressed when brought to their attention. Charming and historical feel with lots of art pieces and beautiful grounds.

The property is gorgeous but the staff make this hotel. Absolutely perfect service at every level, and graciously authentic. Every single interaction was a pleasure. We came because it looked beautiful but we’ll come back because of the people. We actually already came back since our first stay last week 😆 love love love it here.

The place is quite unique with its opulent colonial ambience. The property has quite a selection of 17th-19th century European and Mexican antiques. The 3 pools were clean and relaxing. From the moment we were greeted at the door we felt at home. Lovely, lovely small hotel with interesting history. Every person working here was so pleasant and accommodating. The mgr. has some very sweet , small rescue pups she brings to work and they were a pleasure. We were greeted each morning by Luis who took the time to talk with us and remembered how we liked our morning coffee and he just made us feel so welcome each time we saw him. I highly recommend this lovely hotel. If you do t stay here you should save a night to enjoy dinner in their rooftop restaurant for delicious food, fine service, amazing sunset and live music.

This please is a ripoff for the price they charged and what they offered. The rooms are basic, broken fixtures, old grave condition linens and little privacy. Location is difficult to get to by car since it is locating on a narrow street up on the hill behind the church. Staff were not enthusiastic, breakfast was just coffee and fruits. I would not recommend paying US$970+ to stay here per night.

The entire staff was so kind and welcoming. We stayed here for 3 nights and we wish we stayed longer. The beauty of the estate was absolutely breathtaking and you will feel like it is your home. Our room had a view of the Cathedral which was absolutely gorgeous. The pools, the grounds, the restaurant are impeccable. Make sure you have dinner at their restaurant as the food and service are top notch. The Malecon is a very short 2 minute walk which we loved. Make sure you wear sneakers as there are cobblestone streets and stairs. I can not recommend this boutique hotel enough. 5 stars all the way. We will be back!!

A boutique hotel with only 10 rooms, we sometimes felt like the only two guests on the property. There are hidden terraces and quiet reading corners, exquisite artwork and water features, and the rooms are unique and comfortable. But the service trumps it all; the staff go above and beyond to make you feel at home, they never miss a beat. A special thank you to Luiz and Norma for their kindness and hospitality! The property has an amazing gourmet restaurant, and the Italian place across the road is breathtaking. The area is a steep walk to the Malecón, but the 3 blocks through decorated gardens are an absolute delight, and they're lined with unique shops and quaint little restaurants. Safe and well lit after dark. 5 stars all around. Bring your partner here, you will not regret it!

Incredible property! Like a magical garden. If you're looking for a quiet, romantic stay, then this is your oasis. A boutique hotel with only 10 rooms, we sometimes felt like the only two guests on the property. There are hidden terraces and quiet reading corners, exquisite artwork and water features, and the rooms are unique and comfortable. But the service trumps it all; the staff go above and beyond to make you feel at home, they never miss a beat. A special thank you to Luiz and Norma for their kindness and hospitality! The property has an amazing gourmet restaurant, and the Italian place across the road is breathtaking. From the moment we were greeted at the door we felt at home. Lovely, lovely small hotel with interesting history. Every person working here was so pleasant and accommodating. The mgr. has some very sweet , small rescue pups she brings to work and they were a pleasure. We were greeted each morning by Luis who took the time to talk with us and remembered how we liked our morning coffee and he just made us feel so welcome each time we saw him. I highly recommend this lovely hotel. If you do t stay here you should save a night to enjoy dinner in their rooftop restaurant for delicious food, fine service, amazing sunset and live music.

This please is a ripoff for the price they charged and what they offered. The rooms are basic, broken fixtures, old grave condition linens and little privacy. Location is difficult to get to by car since it is locating on a narrow street up on the hill behind the church. Staff were not enthusiastic, breakfast was just coffee and fruits. I would not recommend paying US$970+ to stay here per night.

This is a magical property! Beautiful, well maintained, elegant, comfortable and clean. Everything about this place is remarkable! It feels like you’ve stepped into a piece of history that has allowed you to call it home for a few wonderful days. Can’t recommend it highly enough! And the lovely staff who take such excellent care of their guests and this place — a mark of excellence! I’ll be back!

Beautiful maintained historical house in the old city center close to very good restaurants and the Malecón beach front. House offers multiple pools to relax and enjoy like if it was your private villa. Food and service is top notch , restaurant is Michelin noted.

The hotel is situated up a hill above Rio Cuale, providing stunning sunset views. The facility is comprised of several historic houses artistically combined into a retreat within the city. The rooms are large and beautifully appointed. The restaurant may be the very best in town, featuring exceptional wine and cuisine expertly served. The owner and staff are ever present, friendly and oriented to do everything to make your stay pleasing. We will definitely return to San Angel when returning to PV.
