La Fontaine Guest House Hermanus

We enjoyed our stay very much. A beautiful and well kept property. Secured parking inside the gate. We had an upstairs room (no elevator) and had help getting our luggage up. Bed was comfortable and the bathroom was large. The balcony with the ocean view is worth the extra cost! Walking distance to town with all kinds of stores. We ate at Cafe 1904 and the oxtail (a common dish here) was outstanding, better than at Cape Town. When present, the staff was very friendly and helpful…took a star off only bc everyone disappeared after we checked in and didn’t know where to find them for questions. Breakfast was very good, eggs made to order. S small heated pool but we didnt get a chance to experience. We would come back!

We received a warm welcome whereby Natasha showed us where to park, where to eat, the property and extras like mini bar and fruits. As it was Christmas Eve she also reminded us that places close early and that we needed a reservation for restaurants nearby. The rooms were clean and cosy with fluffy duvets and pillows. We had a great rest that night as well as enjoyed the chess board in the living room area in the evening. Breakfast was amazing as they had prepared a personalized note as well as crackers to start Christmas with. They also had a heated pool which we unfortunately didn’t try out as it was windy and a bit chilly. As I booked with Expedia there was a glitch in the system which I hope to resolve after the holidays because for some reason I had to pay twice. Overall it was a wonderful stay and I can highly recommend this guest house. They do pay attention to details which I really appreciate.

Great location with sea views when visiting Hermanus, pretty much walked everywhere.

La fontaine is an outstanding Hotel with anazing views and facilities. AllStaff are brilliant and the breakfast is cooked to order .Location perfect and only a short walk to the centre .Recommend without hesitation
