Fairbanks Extended Stay

The hotel has no elevator and is three stories high. The stairs are straight and steep. The manager and main part of the hotel is 0.4 miles away. Breakfast is served at the main hotel and quarters for washing machine and dryer are at main hotel. They do provide complimentary laundry detergent. The room had an electric stove, sink, glass dishes and cups, and a clean refrigerator. Located near University of Alaska campus but is about 5-10 minute car ride from downtown Fairbanks.

Rooms had genuine marble floors, and real bedroom furniture. Day bed was a nice touch. Jet tub was wonderful. Outside the facilities needs work. No curb appeal. No elevators. Had to walk up 4 to 5 flights of stairs to get to room woth luggage.

Dated furnishings No A/C No elevator. 22 steps to unit. Missimg screen on window. Breakfast marginal.

The property was well used. The beds were uncomfortable. The laundry facilities on the property were filthy! Had many machines, but most were Out of Order!! I would definitely find a laundromat in town.

Large room with good beds and good shower. No air conditioning and it was hot. Screen missing on one window. Steep stairs to climb and no elevator so tough with suitcases. Jacuzzi tub with no grab bars was a bit hard to get in for short people. No breakfast that was supported to be included. Remote location with no vending machines.

I really loved the jacuzzi tub.

About the pets, I don't remember we didn't have one. The hot tub was absolutely great!!

The room is roomy and comfortable. It has more space than my first studio apartment. We were on the third floor so the perpetually broken elevator was a minus. The place is split up into various buildings. Ours was an 11 minute walk to breakfast. We used the 5 food trucks in the adjacent parking lot instead. It was a decent quiet (other than the highway) residential area. Uber guys can find it. The staff was helpful if a bit distracted by all the other activities.

This hotel had no working elevator we were on the second floor. The floors were dirty. Hotel did not look like a hotel not very well kept up wouldn’t stay there again.

Clean and quiet

Bathroom floor dirty , toilet needed a plastic screw to hold it in place , one light in bathroom not working , under the bed was dirty ,paper under it and a cap …I paid all this money for this , I was looking for someone to talk to about this when I dropped off my keys couldn’t find anyone I Will Never Stay Here Again ! I found somewhere els to stay ! Poor ,Poor ,Poor! Do better!

Clean rooms, bed was comfy, slept good.

Positives: It was a large unit with a kitchen, full sized coffee maker and had air conditioning. Negatives: The unit was dirty and outdated. The old furniture was in poor condition.

Kind of wish I had read more of their reviews before I booked my stay, floors were pretty dirty and a bunch of interesting brown sticky goo on the floor of the kitchen. Bathroom was also not swept and bathtub had a chunk of toilet cleaner soap in it. The whole room smelled like cigarette smoke. Good thing I had already been camping and had my sleeping bag and personal cookware on hand. Edit, day 2. Just saw the biggest mouse I have ever seen crawling underneath the fridge, you have got to be kidding me… Edit# 3 day 3 after extending my expected to stay by one day, here I am making dinner and a total stranger uses THEIR KEY CARD and walks in on me. Apparently no one is keeping track of who is in what room and is just assigning keys to whoever. This is ridiculous. I have been at roach motels with better service and cleanliness.

Very clean and comfortable!

Checking was unusual, with the office being several blocks from the rooms. It was on the second floor in a kitchen. Our ground floor room had two windows that could not be locked. There didn’t seem to be a way to control the heat other than by opening windows. Our second night was too warm. The furnishings were well used, especially the sagging futon. The floor was dirty.

The place is nothing like they say it is. The outer potion of the property is dirty, Hallways dirty and honestly the inside was clean but you have to walk through the dirty to get to the room. It also said it had continental breakfast… lies there is no breakfast.

They allowed us an early check in which was a very nice thing. We were directed to our room about 1/3 mile away in a separate building. We were in the basement right off the coin op laundry facilities. Dank, dark, and everything appeared as if left untouched from the seventies. Filthy floors, broken hair dryer, no forks in kitchen, unclean bathroom, a big fan that had cobweb like dust attached to it, springs on the mattress felt as if they were sprung, etc. this place needs either a complete renovation or demolition.

Loved the Tudor style buildings and the suite we had was spacious and felt like we were home. Mattress was a little hard in the main bedroom but we had the luxury of using the other beds to sleep on.

Owner was pleasant, kitchen was nice, and with only about 5 minute exception, wifi was good.

Book 5 nights $680.00 . Not one day did room service come. Rented king suite. Called for fresh towels on day three. Some sketchy woman brings towels and toilet paper in trash bag and hands it to me at the door. Nothing after that. Last day knock at door says room services i opened door lady asks if i need anything she is clocking out. Um how about do your job. On top of walls paper thin and room next to me partying all night it sucked never again. Save your money.

The stair traffic inside the building was very noisy. Overall, it’s a convenient location and served our purpose.

I think the hotel was good value for the money, but I think the one thing I would improve is the comfort of the beds.

Terrible internet

The property had the following issues. 1. The TV was internet based. The internet did not work reliably. 2. The main door was left open with no building security. 3. The internet did not work all the time. 4. The shower drain backed up.

Good size room. Love having a kitchen. Enjoyed breakfast included in price at the main building. Nice neighborhood to take morning walks, be aware of moose! Quite and conveniently located to major roads.

Very nice staff who got me set up with my stay. It was located in a quiet area, yet easy to access the city and facilities around me. The room was huge and clean, and I had plenty of room for myself.

The check in was horrible. Last-minute instruction to check in at one building in our room at another and we had to walk to it at midnight. Very little cell reception so getting a notice via email doesn’t work.

No on site office parking is atrocious. I was unable to access my reserved room due to a complete lack of on site staff.

We have stayed before and liked it. This time was not good. When we got to the building where we needed to go, there was a lot of snow and ice. My friend took me close to the building because I cannot walk well. A man drove up behind us and said we cannot park there, it is for fires. My friend explained she was dropping me close to the door. He didn't move his truck. So my friend couldn't move either. He finally left, so my friend parked our vehicle. I went to get my husband at the airport at 1 a.m. We got back to the hotel around 3. My husband turned on the television. We were in bed by 3:15. All of a sudden some guy was out in the hall yelling because "there was too much noise and it was 3:00 in the morning And, people are trying to sleep." He said, "Turn off the damn television. " His voice got gruffer and louder. I thought for sure he was going to break down the door. The television was not on more than 5 to 10 minutes. It wasn't that loud. The guy yelling in the hallway caused more sound than the television. My husband had traveled since 6:00 a.m. and finally arrived in Fairbanks at the hotel at 3:00 a.m. He was tired. He is a disabled veteran and was starting to unwind and go to sleep. He had two doctor appointments and two hospital tests at 9:30 a.m. This is the first time we ever had a problem like this. Oh..and the man who complained that my friend took me close to the building and told her not to park there...was the co-owner of the motel.

At first I was skeptical bc after I made the reservation I was sent a message I pick up the key @ One location “then drive to the Annex” to my room. Being from the lower 48~ I’ve never experienced that before. But I went with it. It was easy to find the main hotel & the owner was there with the key even thought it was 2:30 A.M.. he explained the annex was around he corner (not far) and even showed me a clear photo of what door to go in & which way my room would be. My room was EXCELLENT. Kitchenette , COMFY Bed. QUIET. Looking Forward to Next Years visit!!!

My fiancé and I stayed here and they are awesome. Very flexible with ck out. Sweet young lady in the office and then on Saturday sweet old lady. Great stay especially for the stay.

The owners were nice people, very accommodating. The breakfasts were great. The buildings were dated, but comfortable. We enjoyed our room and our stay.

This isn't a smoke free facility, the hotel staff do not respond to messages on any platform, the room is paper thin walls, the parking is impossible, and the facility as a whole is unacceptable. The breakfast included is in a completely different location than the room we were given and it was supposed to be open at 0830 local time and there was no one in sight. I checked it after 4 hours with a not and they refused to acknowledge my departure whether over email, phone, or hotels.com. this place is awful - Do. Not. Stay. Here. Even if you're hard up the n cash - there's a hostel downtown that's cheaper and probably smoke free.

It was a nice place off the highway so it was very quiet

I should've turned around as soon as I saw the sketchy building that you have to check into that is not even near the main property. When arriving at the "main" building, the main doors were unlocked and wide open. There were drug deals occurring outside the door and in the parking lot. I immediately did not feel safe and promptly left. I thought I was staying at the actual extended stay and should have read the prior reviews stating customers felt unsafe and had strangers attempting to break in during the middle of the night. I have requested a full refund as I did not stay there, so hopefully they do the right thing.

Convenient

It doesn"t look like a safe area around, close to the airport and main roads. Need to go to another creepy amd messy hotel to do check in.

Its very close to the airport, large and complete kitchen for the size of the room. If you need a place to stay in town for a few days, totally good. Check-in a little different (office is at nearby location), otherwise friendly owners.

Like the March 17 writer we saw drug activity in the parking lot. Creepy building and area. We left after one night bec it didn't feel safe. I don't know who wrote all those glowing reviews, but that's not the place we saw. No security on outer door. No staff on site; they are several blocks away at a different property. We stayed one night because we had nowhere else to go; didn't sleep a wink. Forfeited our second night's payment and went elsewhere.

Breakfast is available, but 20 minutes walk in cold snowy weather to get there.

Highly recommend this amazing cozy stay! The staff works intimately with its patrons- as if you’re a family member. The rooms are like mini apartments with great WiFi while feeling like you’re in the woods. Great complimentary breakfast too. Loved my stay here, which included my family.

The owner was delightful. We arrived late due to a flight delay and since our Uber driver left for another fare she gave us a ride to our room, which was a half mile away at a separate property. Also the breakfast was fabulous with many homemade items. The property was clean and comfortable.

Really liked the staff were very helpful. Loved the breakfast with the cloth napkins, China plates and cups. Excellent breakfast and coffee.
