The hotel location was excellent--very close to everything. The hotel itself had great service and was clean and high quality. However, there is NO lift in this hotel so the two flights from the street to reception and another flight up to the room was a bit of a hardship for seniors. The reception staff did help take our bags upstairs and down again, but still this seems like a real limitation you should know about before booking. The price was really excellent too for this location.

We really enjoyed our stay at the Santa Catarina FLH Suites. The staff were all really friendly and helpful, and will carry your luggage for you. The building does not have a lift (which you are informed about when booking) so having their assistance was really good. The breakfast is also a lovely touch, delivered to your room at a time of your choice between 0800 and 1030, and you can choose so many options that are all well presented. I loved the granola with the natural yoghurt as well as the fresh fruit juices. Each floor has a Nespresso Pro coffee machine so you don't have far to get a coffee as you need, and there's lots of crockery and coffee pods, regularly topped up. There is also cake served at 5pm which is a nice welcome surprise, and always well baked (the marble cake in particular). The room we had on the top floor (prime suite) was very comfortable, it is up the most stairs so do be prepared for this. The bathroom was well maintained with a good working shower and toilet, and bathroom toiletries too in case you forgot to bring any. The large bed was really comfortable and having the chaise longue and soft bench at the end of the bed to relax in was a welcome addition. We will definitely be coming back here if we stay in Porto - the little touches and the wonderful staff really do make you feel welcomed.

Lovely clean central hotel offering bed and breakfast to your room. Lots of choice on the breakfast menu plus coffees and cakes located in the lobby for you to nibble on. No lift so not suitable for wheelchair users.

This place was amazing. Made us feel at home from the second we walked in.they bring breakfast right to your door in the morning. Would definitely recommend and will definitely stay here again. Only thing it’s not handicap accessible. There’s lots of stairs on the way up, for someone who ate too much while I was on vacation definitely not a problem. (Not positive but I didn’t see an elevator)

Hotel is very clean, has great AC, and is right in the center of everything yet impressively quiet. Will warn we did not see an elevator and got to go up 5 flights of stairs each time we came back, but that’s not a big issue

Very good location, nice clean rooms with high ceilings, unique structure, comfortable environment overall. Only drawback is there's no elevator, so you need to carry your luggage up the narrow staircase.

Great hotel in a excellent location for exploring all the main sights of Porto. Nearest Metro station an easy walk away, plenty of shops on the doorstep and a straightforward journey back to the airport from the city. Staff were very friendly and the service was great. The hotel was very clean, the facilities were excellent and we found our room to be very peaceful despite the bustling street outside. We had a wonderful 4 night stay.

My favorite thing about this hotel was the staff! They were so kind and helpful, always friendly when we came in or left. The location was excellent, the only thing that was difficult was all the stairs! There is a set of stairs to get to reception, then depending on your room location, more stairs to get there (but the staff helped us carry the big bags to and from our room, which was awesome). Rooms were clean, and the bathroom/room set up was nice.

Room was tired and dated. Very cramped. Towels and bedding clean, though room itself could have been cleaner. Bitten by mosquitoes every night. Didn't like breakfast served on a trolley in the room. No safe in the room.

Such an amazing stay here! Staff were courteous and so helpful. Rooms were nice and so clean. Nice touch to have breakfast served in our room. We were within walking distance of everything. Very old building so no elevators which was fine for us but could be a challenge for others. Definitely recommend them!

FLH Suites in Porto is located in a busy tourist area however once you entered the FLH Suites the ambiance completely changes to a quiet and peaceful place. The FLH room set-up is much better that a 5-star hotel. The bed, pillows, linens and beddings are of great quality. The customer service is great! The receptionists are all nice and pleasant to talk with. They are very attentive to my requests. Also, I love the breakfast delivered to my room at my preferred time. And the daily afternoon treats is a big plus!! Not to mention the amazing Porto wine available at the lobby, or a choice of coffee or tea after a long walk outside. There is no elevator to go up to my room but it didn’t bother me and my husband. It’s a good work-out everyday! I will recommend FLH Suites to anyone looking for a great stay at Porto. The location is great, walking distance to most tourist attractions, and the customer service is superb!! My husband and I enjoyed our stay at FLH Suites. Will definitely come back again in the future!!

We have a nice balcony off our room that we were able to watch the sunset. Our biggest challenge was that the property didn’t have an elevator, so making it to the 4th floor was a challenge for my pregnant wife

I want to preface my lower rating not by anything negative that occurred, rather discontent with reviews not matching the experience. The location is 10000% incredible. My honest opinion to help someone who may face mobility: Too. Many. Stairs. After climbing the hills all day and coming from Lisbon, the larger suite offered while it fit the price tag was not worth the painful 4 stories of non ADA compliant stairs. It was a painful mountain to climb with luggage and during the day made it a nuisance to want to go home to relax because there wasn’t much relaxation climbing stairs. The AC was very weak albeit they generously offered a fan which helped. The bathrooms: modern design does not constitute comfort. The bathroom is a sacred private space in which I do not need or want to hear everything, including seeing a silhouette of somebody using the bathroom, especially when breakfast is served to you in the room. It’s incredibly uncomfortable. I came with my fiance and even then no one is comfortable using a toilet where you hear EVERYTHING. We laughed and used the MTV music channel blasted to diffuse noise. All in all the staff was super kind and offered great suggestions. Breakfast was lovely and was nice being served in the room at the time you want. But I was disappointed that none of the previous reviews offered a transparent view on the technicalities.

This hotel is like a hyper-small boarding house. My room was cramped with almost zero space, and the check-in desk was right outside my room door. It was like staying in a dorm-room, where you could hear every sound from the other rooms. In addition, the weather was between 50-65 degrees outside and the hotel shut off the central heating without communication to guests. (I found out in the middle of the night when I went to turn it on.). I would not stay at this property. They should drop the word ‘Suites’ from the title of this business.

The rooms were comfortable although my wife did not like the way the toilet/shower areas were not completely partitioned from the rest of the room. They had a great snack and coffee service on each landing. The location is very close to the tram stop, and we used it often to get around. The alley the hotel was on was a little grungy, but I prefer to consider that part of the charm of staying in the old city versus a modern hotel. The only negative was an ungodly amount of stairs (reason for 4 stars) to reach your room as the property has no elevator. If you have issues with stairs, avoid it, otherwise it was wonderful.

Staff were great. In particular Beatrix and Alysson were very helpful. Breakfast was often the best meal of our day. Stairs are ominous but became less daunting as days went by. Rooms very tight but very clean . They should have a smaller bed in room 2 as i could not geylt by it without bumping into the TV.

This small hotel is a true gem! We just returned from a one week stay and were so happy with everything. The staff here are exceptional. Alison and Beatriz went out of their way to provide extraordinary service (as did their male colleague, but I did not get his name). They were more than happy to provide recommendations for dining, exploring , transportation … and even some of the local history . The breakfast served to our room each morning was delightful! The eggs were always hot, and the croissants were warm and would melt in your mouth. We enjoyed starting our day overlooking this beautiful city while dining in the comfort and privacy of our own room. Others have commented on the afternoon cakes each day ( a highlight for my husband). As advertised, the hotel has lots of stairs, which add to its charm, but would, as others have mentioned, be a challenge for someone with mobility issues. We loved our stay here and hope to return!

We really enjoyed our stay at the Santa Catarina FLH Suites. The staff were all really friendly and helpful, and will carry your luggage for you. The building does not have a lift (which you are informed about when booking) so having their assistance was really good. The breakfast is also a lovely touch, delivered to your room at a time of your choice between 0800 and 1030, and you can choose so many options that are all well presented. I loved the granola with the natural yoghurt as well as the fresh fruit juices. Each floor has a Nespresso Pro coffee machine so you don't have far to get a coffee as you need, and there's lots of crockery and coffee pods, regularly topped up. There is also cake served at 5pm which is a nice welcome surprise, and always well baked (the marble cake in particular). The room we had on the top floor (prime suite) was very comfortable, it is up the most stairs so do be prepared for this. The bathroom was well maintained with a good working shower and toilet, and bathroom toiletries too in case you forgot to bring any. The large bed was really comfortable and having the chaise longue and soft bench at the end of the bed to relax in was a welcome addition. We will definitely be coming back here if we stay in Porto - the little touches and the wonderful staff really do make you feel welcomed.

One of the best hotel experiences we’ve ever had. The staff was amazing, both personally and professionally, always going above and beyond. We also appreciated the extra special touches, like the chocolates, the happy hour cake and cookies, the port, and the wonderful breakfasts delivered to our room. My favorite thing about this hotel was the staff! They were so kind and helpful, always friendly when we came in or left. The location was excellent, the only thing that was difficult was all the stairs! There is a set of stairs to get to reception, then depending on your room location, more stairs to get there (but the staff helped us carry the big bags to and from our room, which was awesome). Rooms were clean, and the bathroom/room set up was nice.

Great hotel in a excellent location for exploring all the main sights of Porto. Nearest Metro station an easy walk away, plenty of shops on the doorstep and a straightforward journey back to the airport from the city. Staff were very friendly and the service was great. The hotel was very clean, the facilities were excellent and we found our room to be very peaceful despite the bustling street outside. We had a wonderful 4 night stay.

Make sure you read they do not have a lift. There are many stairs leading into the property as well as each floor. You must be able to walk these with ease. Beautiful hotel with very nice rooms. Breakfast is served in your room each morning. Some wonderful treats to nibble at your convenience with tea and cafe provided. Port as well. Location is perfect for walking to see the city. It’s a keeper!

Not for elderly or handicapped as there is no elevator. We are 69/68 and did fine carrying luggage up 2 flights but others may have difficulty. Nice clean basic rooms, good breakfast, good location, on main shopping street in city center. 3 blocks down hill to cathedral and bridge (upper level), 2 blocks to finicular from base of bridge.

This is a small hotel in a good location for exploring the sights. We appreciated the nespresso machines on each floor and the afternoon cake. We knew there was no elevator before we booked....but didn't anticipate being tired at the end of a day of sight-seeing, and wishing for an elevator...so consider that when choosing your hotel! The showers had plenty of pressure and hot water, and the air-conditioning was good. The biggest drawback for us was that breakfast didn't start until 8:00am, and we needed to be gone by then to go on tours.

O quarto que ficamos era extremamente pequeno. Ate olhamos e nao nos atentamos que no anuncio tinha a metragem. Mas ficamos bastante apertados no quarto. As malas simplesmente não cabiam. Colocaram a gente no quarto que tem na recepção. E logo cedo, começavam os barulhos. Teve um dia que achamos que estava acontecendo algo no quarto ao lado, pq o barulho era muito alto e incomodo. Fui perguntar e era a camareira passando aspirador de pó. Ainda me responderam “ela ja esta acabando”. A acústica realmente é muito ruim. Pedimos uma coca cola um dia e eles não tinham. A equipe é ate simpática, a localização é maravilhosa, mas o conforto ficou muito a desejar. Fui sair do meu quarto um dia e quando abri a porta tinham varias malas na minha porta. Exatamente pq a recepção é pequena e meu quarto (e alguns outros) era no meio da recepção.

We absolutely loved our stay! The central location was perfect for exploring Porto and made it so easy to get around on foot. The staff were incredibly friendly, welcoming, and helpful, which made our stay even more enjoyable. We love Porto, and we loved staying in this location. The staff were incredibly friendly, welcoming, and helpful, which made our stay even more enjoyable. We love Porto, and we loved staying in this location. We would definitely stay here again and will be looking for other FLH properties on our future travels!
