Super stay as a half way point from Wimbledon to the coast on bikes with kids. Excellent, spacious family room. Right on the Down’s link. Staff very friendly and welcoming. Lovely atmosphere on a sunny afternoon. Gastro pub, although we felt that the standard of the food could be improved a little. Overall though an enjoyable stay.
Super stay as a half way point from Wimbledon to the coast on bikes with kids. Excellent, spacious family room. Right on the Down’s link. Staff very friendly and welcoming. Lovely atmosphere on a sunny afternoon. Gastro pub, although we felt that the standard of the food could be improved a little. Overall though an enjoyable stay.

Friendly staff, really large modern comfy warm room, excellent restaurant for dinner and breakfast. And it is a great, busy pub with a good selection of (proper) beers. Even the problem with a slow draining shower tray in the morning (reported and being dealt with) didn't dampen a really relaxing overnight stay. Will return next time we are anywhere in the area.

The Richard Onslow is a nice property in a nice little town. However please review your parking. Locals use the parking spaces so there were none free consequently we ended up paying for parking and walking some way with our bags. When raised with the pub they asked the locals to move but by the time we got our car over someone had parked there again! I suggest if you know you have guests coming you cone the spaces off. We only booked based on parking.

A very comfortable 2 night stay, no major gripes at all - service and food was very good.Bar was quiet come bed time - some furniture could do with upgrading but thats a minor point given it was a great place to stay with easy access for Surrey Hills and South Downs.

This is a very special property which combines olde world charm with modern comfort, and is one of those rare places that exceeds your expectations. Staff are friendly and welcoming and the bar and restaurant charming and the room we stayed very spacious and comfortable. There was a good selection of real ales and the food outstanding; both my husband and I describing meal and particularly our starter (independently) as exquisite! Our thanks to everyone and in particular Gavin the chef. The only point we could think of for improvement was the signage for the car park.

We checked in quite late... upon arrival we were checked in seamlessly.. we stayed in room 6 which contained the smallest twin beds i have ever seen. The cost for such a small room is very over priced... i was charged over £100 but i had no choice as i attended an event that day. We woke up and checked out at 0630hrs as the bed was very uncomfortable and very small. Staff were extremely friendly and helpful but the cleansiness of the room was not to the best standard. We found dead bugs on the floor under the table and a long spider web hanging from the ceiling.

Firstly the bad, we had room 1 and the beds are so small it is difficult to feel secure. The room was freezing and we had to ask for an additional heater. The good ….. all of the staff without exception were friendly knowledgeable and took action when needed. The pub itself is one of our most favorite destinations, especially at this time of year. We have been coming for over 30 years when it wasn’t the Onslow but the Cranleigh pub We will come back but will be very reluctant to occupy room 1

Beautiful rooms, comfortable beds, good tea tray, very clean. Very impressed. Didn’t have breakfast as didn’t appear to have anything for the children who prefer cereals, croissants etc. adult menu looked good though.

We had a fantastic stay at The Richard Onslow. Lovely, clean, comfortable and spacious room, excellent food at both Breakfast and Dinner and all right in the middle of the beautiful village of Cranleigh with everything on the doorstep. Above all the service from the friendly, helpful staff was brilliant.

I was staying because of work, but the accommodation was great, the bed was a bit on the hard side but that’s just personal taste, the room was spacious and comfy and there was fresh towels and toiletries provided. Overall my stay was excellent and I would definitely stay again.

We liked everything about this property - from the large bedroom (Room 1) with a large en suite with both shower and separate bath - through the excellent breakfast - to, last though not least, the great and friendly service provided by all the staff.

The Richard Onslow is a nice property in a nice little town. However please review your parking. Locals use the parking spaces so there were none free consequently we ended up paying for parking and walking some way with our bags. When raised with the pub they asked the locals to move but by the time we got our car over someone had parked there again! I suggest if you know you have guests coming you cone the spaces off. We only booked based on parking.

A very comfortable 2 night stay, no major gripes at all - service and food was very good.Bar was quiet come bed time - some furniture could do with upgrading but thats a minor point given it was a great place to stay with easy access for Surrey Hills and South Downs.

Matress wasnt the comfiest but room was beautiful. Overlooked high street so some noise. Pub is lovely and very popular. Wish is was my local.

We had a fantastic stay at The Richard Onslow. Lovely, clean, comfortable and spacious room, excellent food at both Breakfast and Dinner and all right in the middle of the beautiful village of Cranleigh with everything on the doorstep. Above all the service from the friendly, helpful staff was brilliant.

Nice pub and hotel. The food was good and the room was spacious and comfortable. The bathroom shower was very small and enclosed. The staff were friendly and the location had a lot of shopping around it

Super stay as a half way point from Wimbledon to the coast on bikes with kids. Excellent, spacious family room. Right on the Down’s link. Staff very friendly and welcoming. Lovely atmosphere on a sunny afternoon. Gastro pub, although we felt that the standard of the food could be improved a little. Overall though an enjoyable stay.

Beautiful rooms, comfortable beds, good tea tray, very clean. Very impressed. Didn’t have breakfast as didn’t appear to have anything for the children who prefer cereals, croissants etc. adult menu looked good though.

This is a very special property which combines olde world charm with modern comfort, and is one of those rare places that exceeds your expectations. Staff are friendly and welcoming and the bar and restaurant charming and the room we stayed very spacious and comfortable. There was a good selection of real ales and the food outstanding; both my husband and I describing meal and particularly our starter (independently) as exquisite! Our thanks to everyone and in particular Gavin the chef. The only point we could think of for improvement was the signage for the car park.

We had a wonderful 4 night stay, our room was perfect, with a comfortable bed (better pillows would have been preferred). The staff were all very helpful and friendly, especially Dylan and Joe (who I believe was the manager). Their was another manager on duty for one day while we were there ("L"), I think her customer relations skills could do with some improvement! Overall, we had a really good visit and will certainly re-book should we be vising Cranleigh in the future. Keep up the good work!

I had a lovely stay at the Richard Onslow - from the moment I walked in I was made to feel welcome and that continued throughout my stay. My room was incredibly hot but that was understandable given the weather but I was given a fan which was worth its weight in gold. The room was clean and bed extremely comfortable. I thoroughly enjoyed my stay and would go back in a shot!

The room was clean and very convenient as it had an external door to the car park. The room was too hot, not helped by the towel radiator which always on. Not needed when the weather outside was 25⁰C. The staff were welcoming and helpful. We had breakfast in the moving of our departure which set us up for the rest of the day.
