When we arrived there was a private function on which meant that there was no evening meals available. The function had taken over the whole hotel which meant that we couldn't access our garden room easily with out having to negotiate the guest of the function to allow us to get to the door to the room. Also due to the function there was a feeling of lack of privacy, plus the noise level was excessive directly outside of the room. The hotel does not do breakfast, which was disappointing.. Parking was either on street which, was limited to 2 hours with no return until the end of the day, or a pay and display at the rear that was shared with the local supermarket so was quite busy. Not the best place we have stayed in and in all honesty we will not be returning to The Angel.

First time here and won't be last Excellent rooms. Cleanliness beyond 10/10. Room was absolutely beautiful. Loved the styling of the furniture. So many little touches that added to beauty of the room. Arrived in the sun and all the hanging baskets were beautiful. Staff had a lovely warm welcome. Very happy to answer questions and instructed about parking rules outside on the on road parking. My room was on ground floor with door out onto beer garden. Also seating outside the door which was a nice touch. Happy to say beer garden in that part is No Smoking to no stinky rooms

The only issue is parking. I found a road 5 minute walk from the hotel without parking restrictions. Which meant no potential parking fines. The only other parking is on the high street or a pay & display car park. The room was great, bed comfortable & bathroom was clean. Thank you for a great stay.

Hotel is fine, they advertise free parking, this isn't true, there is no parking unless you're lucky to get a spot at the front, large Supermarket car park at the rear which is easier. The rooms need modernising, felt like I was on a slope all the time, prepared a brew and the cup slipped off the one table provided.

The room was very spacious with the most comfortable bed we’ve slept in on this trip. The staff are extremely friendly and nothing is too much trouble. Our dinner was delicious and the ambience of the hotel was delightful.

The room was quite spacious and comfy but it was next to the rear outside drinking area of the pub. Despite being a cold night lots of people were outside and the noise until closing time very loud in the room. Free parking in the street from 4pm until 10am. No breakfast in the hotel and only one small cafe in the high street

Lovely room, good bathroom, friendly welcome and service, soft duvet and sheets, large bath sheets, only downsides we're a sagging mattress which was quite uncomfortable and shouting people in the courtyard at 4am for about an hour who were not guests of the hotel.

Stayed before . Got told on check-in that, due to a function in the courtyard, there would be no dinner available , nor breakfast the next day. Plus the 'function' meaning live band right outside every room door. Fortunately, it was a 70th birthday party , so the music was good and finished at a reasonable time. However, any customer should have been told about all of these matters, but who cares? No one takes responsibility any more

I've stayed here a few times before as it's close to family. The day I arrived there was an 80th party so the general bar was closed. I waited around 15 mins to get someone's attention to check in. When I was given the key to my room, I discovered that my room, which was in the open courtyard where the private party was, was unlocked. I found this particularly odd, especially as a lone female, and felt quite uneasy that anyone could already be in my room or could have entered my room before me. It's just very strange. Rooms are starting to look tired. Otherwise it was a comfortable stay.

This was our 6th or 7th visit to the Angel. It has never disappointed. Clean, comfortable with excellent service and lovely ambiance. I thoroughly recommend the cod and chips which was exquisitely cooked. Just damm good value all around!!! See you again soon.

However, any customer should have been told about all of these matters, but who cares? No one takes responsibility any more

When we arrived there was a private function on which meant that there was no evening meals available. The function had taken over the whole hotel which meant that we couldn't access our garden room easily with out having to negotiate the guest of the function to allow us to get to the door to the room. Also due to the function there was a feeling of lack of privacy, plus the noise level was excessive directly outside of the room. The hotel does not do breakfast, which was disappointing.. Parking was either on street which, was limited to 2 hours with no return until the end of the day, or a pay and display at the rear that was shared with the local supermarket so was quite busy. Not the best place we have stayed in and in all honesty we will not be returning to The Angel.

We were on ground floor by courtyard when we got there thought it would be a noise problem as people drinking out there in sunny weather. However on both nights all gone by 10. Staff very helpful, food good, would use again. food good would use again

The room was very spacious with the most comfortable bed we’ve slept in on this trip. The staff are extremely friendly and nothing is too much trouble. Our dinner was delicious and the ambience of the hotel was delightful.

Beds were awful, small and springy, no hot water in shower only on sink, check in was weird just gave my name and got key, didn’t show ID or CC. Food was good but took long time to get. Parking was rough to find.

This was our 6th or 7th visit to the Angel. It has never disappointed. Clean, comfortable with excellent service and lovely ambiance. I thoroughly recommend the cod and chips which was exquisitely cooked. Just damm good value all around!!! See you again soon.

Stopover. Rooms in little courtyard out the back were clean, sufficient but some tattiness. Great Friday night special meal. Place looked like it needed new ideas. Lacked atmosphere, clientele and the decor was a mish mash of not sure what! Went to another pub to enjoy the evening that was bustling.

We stayed in room 17. It seemed clean except for the black mould around the shower. There was a long crack down the middle of the sink. There were also multiple cracks in one if the cups. The locked front door also inexplicably unlocked and opened itself slightly in the night!
