Overall our stay was great and in an ideal location. The rooms were comfortable and clean and the staff provided a great service. The pool and jacuzzi was not as warm as expected despite being advertised as a heated pool Also their was limited gluten free options in the bar restaurant and breakfast which was a little disappointing.

Beautiful on the outside, average on the inside. The bathroom was dated, bed not overly comfortable and whilst access to the pool & sauna is included, it's very frustrating to not have direct access from the hotel. You have to walk out of the hotel and through the grounds - on a sunny day I'm sure it's fine but not in the winter.

Had a fantastic experience, the staff were nothing but impeccable and the overall stay was excellent! The pool & facilities there were great! The restaurant options was handy to have and of decent quality with MPW. Main negatives were lack of hand towels - seemed to be a shortage in the hotel as other people having this issue. Also doors weren't insulated too well as could hear lots of noise in corridors at night and early morning. The parking fee is also a joke for hotel guests - this should be either free or very good value. 4 nights equalling £40 is a bit of a joke. Overall though, had a really good experience despite being slightly worried with others feedback. Service though was perfect!

I stayed for one night and overall found the experience average, falling short of the 4-star Hilton standard I expected. On the positive side, the staff were friendly and helpful throughout, and the hotel was generally clean. Breakfast was very good with plenty of choice. The spa and pool facilities were a nice addition, with well-kept changing rooms. That said, there were several drawbacks. The hotel is showing its age, taps, units and fittings were stained, damaged, or not cleaned. Getting to the rooms was awkward, requiring you to go up a floor and then back down again, which felt odd/poor layout. The pool itself needs renovating, as tiles and walls are worn, and it felt overcrowded with members lane swimming alongside public swimming; a rotation system might make it more enjoyable for hotel guests. Noise was another issue. I could hear guests from nearby rooms, and even with windows closed, shouting children from a wedding party at 10:30pm were disruptive. The bed wasn’t comfortable, noisy and uncomfortable pillows, which sadly left both me and my partner with sore backs by morning. Check-in was also poor, more like an all-inclusive resort queue, with about 10 people waiting and no real welcome or information about hotel bars, evening food, or family-friendly options. Overall, while the breakfast, rooms to a good decor standard and staff were great, the noise levels, tired facilities, and uncomfortable sleep meant the stay did not justify the price.

Just an overnight stay while visiting Bristol and enjoyed it. Restaurant is excellent. Having onsite gym spa is very useful and good to offset the restaurant indulgence.

An older property, could benefit from netting to add privacy for rooms. Shame the pool couldn’t be accessed from the hotel without walking outside as this prevents walking in your dressing down. Sadly our check in experience felt somewhat underwhelming compared to the member of staff in front of us who was offered complimentary upgrade and didn’t have to ask for their cookies. Was advised two restaurants were open but didn’t have children’s menu for the one at the spa. Went to eat there and then advised they were not open. Not ideal stop if you have mobility issues.

Stayed for business and I have stayed here a few times. The main reason I stay is for the gym. It is much better equipped than most hotel gyms. I do think it is a bit much to charge hotel residents £7.50 for parking per night. If you are staying and paying a pretty penny for the privilege then the car parking should be included. I haven't eaten at the restaurant so cannot comment on the food. Overall a nice hotel.

The room had not been cleaned properly. The carpet needed a hoover. I didn’t want to take my shoes off. The windows were dirty on in the inside with a handprint and dirt. The balcony had several cigarette ends on the floor, dirt and cobwebs. Overall the room was very tired. The curtains did not close properly letting in sunlight during the early hours of the morning. The bathroom was exceptionally small with a cracked sink. The hotel had two weddings during our stay. The noise and music went on until 3am. There was fighting on the car park after midnight. Our room 121 was next to the lift and kitchen. We could hear plates and cutlery being dropped, chefs shouting and the door opening and closing. The carpets in the hallways was unclean and needed hoovering. The swimming pool was completely out of use. We would not recommend or return to this hotel.

The aircon was not working however we was not informed of this upon arrival, when we discovered this when we entered our room we rang reception to which their dismissive attitude and unhelpfulness on the situation only fuelled frustrations. We was staying in a family room, 2 adults and 2children, we was offered single rooms as an alternative on other fooors which was not suitable at the time. We asked for a fan however this did not aid much to the room temperature. We stayed out all day and returned early evening to sleep to make our stay bearable. The second night we had drinks in our room and a letter from management recognising the lack of aircon and an apology for this, an offer of soft cold drinks was supplied, however small the gesture did. Not remedy the fact that stay was uncomfortable. The windows have limited opening so a breeze was minimal, heat out side was 25/26 degrees. The room get very hot and humid. We should of been I forme did this at the point of checking in as it was most likely we would have explored alternative accommodations The breakfast room was dirty, the shutter blinds are full of dust.. we had to ask for items to be replenished and it just felt there was a lack of up keep. Having stayed in a few Hilton’s this one by far I would not be returning to any time soon.

The bathroom was not very clean. All the staff from reception to bar and restaurant were very nice, generally very young and they so needed to be trained properly. Lack of training resulted in terrible service, wait times and getting things wrong.

This hotel could be fabulous but lack of attention to detail is rife. The first room I was given was a depressingly dark, I was moved to a brighter room however other guests walked in on me half-dressed during my stay. The room service was so bland, there was mould in the shower, they had no shower caps, some of the staff were so unhelpful, the club amenities stank. The grounds are very pretty and the drive up to the hotel is impressive. But then just little things really let it down. I opened the window and it was full of 100’s of dead bugs. When I tried calling for room service, it took over 10-15mins to get a hold of someone, the phone just rings out. The care and detail is just not there. A few minor changes could take this place from ‘fine’ to great. Would not stay there again. Paris on the front desk was great… very helpful.

checkin staff was not welcoming was not in official work attire, jumper and jeans no shirt tie or jacket. room smelled of sick, spider in bed when covers turned back, linen dirty remote not working and when reported back to reception for something to be done was told straight away I cannot have a another room. The next day found that the Iron board was broken so had to get that changed so not a great experience at all.

Check-in was good when we got to our room there was tissue in the bin with blood on it and when we told the cleaner she just come in and pick the tissue up with her hand didn’t even give us a clean bag the spiders in our bathroom, there was still missing in the bathroom And it was so cold in the night. We had to get the baby out the travel court and put him in bed with us cause it was so cold awful Breakfast beans were warm sausages were tough.

I just want to start this by saying I cannot fault the staff at all. Every single staff member we spoke to was welcoming, friendly and warm and actually were one of the only good things about our stay. The Club was the other only good thing about the stay. The room was small and didn’t come with a fridge (just like any basic travel lodge or premier inn would). The toilet was full of limescale. The TV was useless - it uses a casting tool to make it a “smart” TV and uses this through a shared WiFi - but as soon as you connect to the WiFi, your device then won’t load what you want to play. It quite literally doesn’t work at all and when we asked about this we were just told the tv doesn’t connect to internet and that was it. We decided to order room service as the menu reflected white a lot that was served in the restaurants. We didn’t mind about the wait as it was Valentine’s Day. But the food was shocking. The burger reflected an Iceland frozen patty - dense and dry. The tomatoes were practically green and hence very hard. The mac and cheese was just overcooked pasta in a milky runny sauce with a slice of melted cheese on top. And all for £50. The room in total with the food was £245 for one night with breakfast - please if you’re reading this - STAY AT A TRAVELLODGE AND DONT WASTE YOUR MONEY!!!

Having arrived at 1500hrs on 17th April to what was a packed Hotel & Reception area due to a Wedding taking place, I was hoping that there would be no issues throughout the stay. Clearly I was wrong. After heading up to Room 211 (which we have since realised was directly above the Bar/Restaurant area), my Partner & I unpacked and then decided to head to the bar for a drink and a small bite to eat. This was the first mistake as whilst the Bar was still open to Guests/Public, it was full of guests for a wedding reception making those not attending the wedding feel uncomfortable. After eating out in Yatton that Evening, we returned to the room and until at least 2330hrs there was a continuous thud coming through the windows (which were shut) and this was obviously the loud music. One night I could accept though so didn't think nothing more of it. However, the exact same situation happened on 18th April and again, numerous wedding guests were in the Bar making others feeling uncomfortable and by 2342hrs I had enough of the constant thudding so went to the Reception to ask when the noise would stop. At this point I was met with the most unhelpful receptionist who clearly wasn't a people person and took no interest. As a result of this, the Managers details were requested and an EMail sent (still waiting for reply). Upon checking out this morning I was asked if everything was okay to which I replied No and to met with the reply "okie dokie" just sums up the last 2 days.
Having arrived at 1500hrs on 17th April to what was a packed Hotel & Reception area due to a Wedding taking place, I was hoping that there would be no issues throughout the stay. Clearly I was wrong. After heading up to Room 211 (which we have since realised was directly above the Bar/Restaurant area), my Partner & I unpacked and then decided to head to the bar for a drink and a small bite to eat. This was the first mistake as whilst the Bar was still open to Guests/Public, it was full of guests for a wedding reception making those not attending the wedding feel uncomfortable. After eating out in Yatton that Evening, we returned to the room and until at least 2330hrs there was a continuous thud coming through the windows (which were shut) and this was obviously the loud music. One night I could accept though so didn't think nothing more of it. However, the exact same situation happened on 18th April and again, numerous wedding guests were in the Bar making others feeling uncomfortable and by 2342hrs I had enough of the constant thudding so went to the Reception to ask when the noise would stop. At this point I was met with the most unhelpful receptionist who clearly wasn't a people person and took no interest. As a result of this, the Managers details were requested and an EMail sent (still waiting for reply). Food options are limited to mostly the MPW restaurant. Breakfast was superb. AC was not working in our suite which was a major problem for me as I swelter in heat. The staff found several fans to compensate and did their best to ameliorate the situation during a busy time due to weddings.

Beautiful place, staff couldn’t be nicer, comfy bed, lovely pillows - unfortunately paper thin walls so when the wedding party guests came back after their reception we all got to enjoy the drunken arguments and fun! Glad they all had a great time but unfortunately no sleep for us.

Quite a find. Within sterling distance of Bristol and very good. Best Double Tree we have stayed in. Clean, comfortable room with great view. Staff very lovely. Marco pierre white restaurant very good. Will stay here again.

I stayed for one night and overall found the experience average, falling short of the 4-star Hilton standard I expected. On the positive side, the staff were friendly and helpful throughout, and the hotel was generally clean. Breakfast was very good with plenty of choice. The spa and pool facilities were a nice addition, with well-kept changing rooms. That said, there were several drawbacks. The hotel is showing its age, taps, units and fittings were stained, damaged, or not cleaned. Getting to the rooms was awkward, requiring you to go up a floor and then back down again, which felt odd/poor layout. The pool itself needs renovating, as tiles and walls are worn, and it felt overcrowded with members lane swimming alongside public swimming; a rotation system might make it more enjoyable for hotel guests. Noise was another issue. I could hear guests from nearby rooms, and even with windows closed, shouting children from a wedding party at 10:30pm were disruptive. The bed wasn’t comfortable, noisy and uncomfortable pillows, which sadly left both me and my partner with sore backs by morning. Check-in was also poor, more like an all-inclusive resort queue, with about 10 people waiting and no real welcome or information about hotel bars, evening food, or family-friendly options. Overall, while the breakfast, rooms to a good decor standard and staff were great, the noise levels, tired facilities, and uncomfortable sleep meant the stay did not justify the price.

Excellent stay - spacious, clean room with great views. Hotel grounds well maintained and great to be able to use the pool and spa area. Enjoyed the garden room in the restaurant. Only thing lacking was a fridge in the room which would have been ideal.

Room was good except the noise from planes and air con .We were obviously on a flight path and didnt get much sleep, we had windows open as air con was not working it came on then went straight off again. Even with windows shut the noise from planes stopped us sleeping, We had intended on having a lay in and visiting local places of interest but we both felt wiped out so came home instead. It was supposed to be a nice get away as we were celebrating our wedding anniversary.

The bathroom was not very clean. All the staff from reception to bar and restaurant were very nice, generally very young and they so needed to be trained properly. Lack of training resulted in terrible service, wait times and getting things wrong.

We were greeted on arrival by Stefan. He was friendly, professional and was probably, the best receptionist I have ever come across! It set the tone for our stay. Would heartily recommend! We will be back!

Not the greatest. Check in took an age as only one person working on reception, the second terminal was broken. One of three rooms were ready for 4pm. Went to get food at 4:30pm, told not serving until 5:30pm in the restaurant. Advised to go to the Club for food as only place serving, walked over to the club only to find four members of staff stood talking, they looked at us a few times before asking what we wanted. Stated a table for three only to be told food had stopped serving and should go back to the place that had sent us over. Waited until the restaurant was open, stood at the "wait to be seated" sign for around 5 minutes until someone came over to ask what we wanted. in that period 8 or 9 staff members just walked straight past without acknowledgement - a true case of "not my job mate". Food at the MPW was ok; our first drinks order taken only to be told that all three drinks were out of stock. Ordered some of drinks only to be told two of those were also out of stock so stuck to water. Found a large piece of plastic packaging in the cabbage side - told the waiter, who said sorry and walked off, came back said the chef was sorry. Nothing more mentioned about it. The hallways smell, progressively worse in the stairwells. The sofa bed in one room resembled an extra out of CSI - the amount of stains and "crustiness" was disgusting. Didn't even put my bag on the thing! The noisiest hotel ever. Left one day early.

Angus, in Reception, had 100% excellent customer service skills. We were somehow booked into a double room for disabled people that overlooked the car park. I went back down to Reception and spoke to Angus, who without any haggling, put my husband and me into an upgraded king-size room with views over the gardens and grounds. The bed was super comfortable and the breakfast choices were 5⭐️ What could have been an uncomfortable and disappointing stay turned out to be a wonderful success - THANK YOU ANGUS😃

It was good, staff at reception wasn’t very happy, they helped but it seamed they were annoyed at our questions… they charged us wrongly and again they got annoyed. I called several times to pay the correct amount and no one knew what I was talking about and kept saying call later, I even got a “call later I’m busy”… I gave up. Unlikely we’ll be back.

Had a fantastic experience, the staff were nothing but impeccable and the overall stay was excellent! The pool & facilities there were great! The restaurant options was handy to have and of decent quality with MPW. Main negatives were lack of hand towels - seemed to be a shortage in the hotel as other people having this issue. Also doors weren't insulated too well as could hear lots of noise in corridors at night and early morning. The parking fee is also a joke for hotel guests - this should be either free or very good value. 4 nights equalling £40 is a bit of a joke. Overall though, had a really good experience despite being slightly worried with others feedback. Service though was perfect!

Check in let the stay down - guy not friendly or professional at all. Gave us the key with no info about breakfast, facilities use or checkout info. Had to ask and then the answers were brief and unsure of the answer he was giving. Then the key didn’t work and ended up having go back to reception 2 more times to get it sorted, at 10:30pm all we wanted was to get into the room so this was frustrating. It made it worse that the guy serving us didn’t apologise or recognise this was an inconvenience. The staff at breakfast made up for this and were very friendly and helpful.

A lovely setting and a great place to stay for Bristol yet also close enough for the airport. There was a charge for parking which is unhelpful as the car park is remote so guest have no choice but to park. However as we were leaving at 4am for the airport the lovely lady in reception kindly waived the charge. We would most likely stay again but as the spa and swimming pool is part of a sports club it does not feel intimate for hotel guests, can be busy and as such did not feel as welcoming for hotel guests

One of my favourite short breaks days ever. A beautiful location with fantastic facilities you must visit the restaurant because the steak is to absolutely die for. Very close to Chedder gorge, not too far from Bath or Bristol. The scenery was so pretty. Plenty of parking. Spa facilities were absolutely excellent. The staff are very accommodating friendly and helpful. We had a last minute change of circumstances which meant that our daughter had to come with us so they supplied a rollaway bed at no extra cost our daughter even ate for free. We really couldn’t have asked for more oh and cookies upon arrival, I’m sorry what ! Great touch.

The hotel itself is picturesque and we had no issues with the room. Breakfast was a nightmare for my wife who is gluten and dairy intolerant. All they could offer was gluten free toast (with no spread) and black coffee. Luckily as we were travelling back from holiday I was able to get non dairy milk and gluten free cereal from our car so that she was able to have a reasonable breakfast. Reception just said there should have been things available - our thoughts too but that didn't change anything. Won't be staying again if that is all that Hilton are able or willing to do, especially at the price. Other chain hotels are much better at catering for dietary needs.

Perfect place to stay en route to Cornwall, just a short drive from M5. We had an excellent evening meal in the restaurant, which had great options for the kids and adults. Breakfast was peaceful with very attentive staff. Our short stay was completed by a swim/time in spa.

Overall our stay was great and in an ideal location. The rooms were comfortable and clean and the staff provided a great service. The pool and jacuzzi was not as warm as expected despite being advertised as a heated pool Also their was limited gluten free options in the bar restaurant and breakfast which was a little disappointing.

I just want to start this by saying I cannot fault the staff at all. Every single staff member we spoke to was welcoming, friendly and warm and actually were one of the only good things about our stay. The Club was the other only good thing about the stay. The room was small and didn’t come with a fridge (just like any basic travel lodge or premier inn would). The toilet was full of limescale. The TV was useless - it uses a casting tool to make it a “smart” TV and uses this through a shared WiFi - but as soon as you connect to the WiFi, your device then won’t load what you want to play. It quite literally doesn’t work at all and when we asked about this we were just told the tv doesn’t connect to internet and that was it. We decided to order room service as the menu reflected white a lot that was served in the restaurants. We didn’t mind about the wait as it was Valentine’s Day. But the food was shocking. The burger reflected an Iceland frozen patty - dense and dry. The tomatoes were practically green and hence very hard. The mac and cheese was just overcooked pasta in a milky runny sauce with a slice of melted cheese on top. And all for £50. The room in total with the food was £245 for one night with breakfast - please if you’re reading this - STAY AT A TRAVELLODGE AND DONT WASTE YOUR MONEY!!!

We stayed for one night in a Deluxe Double Room as two adults and two children. The room included a sofa bed, which worked well for our family. We booked the half-board package, which is worth noting only applies to adults. Children’s evening meals are charged separately, although they can eat breakfast free of charge. The highlights were definitely the staff, who were all friendly, welcoming and helpful throughout our visit. The grounds are beautiful and well maintained, making for a lovely setting. The pool was clean and enjoyable, the bed was very comfortable, and the restaurant was excellent. Breakfast was particularly impressive, with a great choice and everything we tried was fresh and delicious. There were a few downsides though. Housekeeping knocked on our door three separate times before the advertised check-out time, which made us feel like we were being rushed out of the room. Parking at £12 for one night also felt overpriced. Finally, the hotel photos are a little misleading, as the bedrooms are actually located in a separate, newer building next to the main house rather than in the historic building pictured, which wasn’t what we were expecting. The layout of the accommodation was also quite confusing and not particularly easy to navigate. Overall, it’s a lovely hotel with great facilities and excellent staff. With a few small improvements, it would be an even better experience.

I stayed at the Double Tree by Hilton Cadbury House for a recent business trip. The stay was ok although I was a little disappointed with the Deluxe room that I had booked, certainly not like the pictures indicated on the Hotels.com website. The servicing of the room is what the hotel calls a light service for a short stay like mine. This does not include refreshing the bed or towels or even emptying the bins. This apparently only happens every 3 days. The room was clean and the bathroom functional. The bar area was very comfortable plenty of seating and the food was very good. You also have the facility of the MPW Restaurant, although this was not something I used. Breakfast was very good with a large selection of hot and continental foods and overall I found the stay comfortable. One thing that all the hotels have tagged on to nowadays is charging to park your car on the car park even as a hotel guest although at a slightly reduced rate than that advertised on the Car Park boards. Personally I believe that as a hotel guest there should be no charge to park my car unless I had made arrangements to leave it during a trip from the airport.
