Highlander Motor Inn

Spa bath was hard to get into as Ii have an injury.

Room was quite large with plenty of space. Two large couches plus table and chairs. Microwave, toaster and kettle with crockery & cutlery. Older unit but very clean. Food and alcohol available for room service. Will definitely be back.

Excellent in all respects. The room service food was excellent, and the motel has a dog friendly policy. What’s not to like.

Lovely stay there, pet friendly, staff were lovely and food was delicious, we got the t bone & mango chicken for dinner, then Eggs Benedict for breakfast!

It's hard to find a place that is truly pet friendly but this hotel is. We travel with two Dalmatians and we had them inside with us. There were no rules saying dogs can't be here or there in the apartment. It was large and they had room to move around after being in the car all day. Big thanks to Mandy.

Clean rooms and very spacious. We have stayed twice and both times have been excellent.

The staff are always exceptionally welcoming and friendly. The rooms are always clean and well maintained. The property itself is always clean, it is always a pleasure to stay.

Typical country motor inn with exposed brick walls for the interior—overall, very tired and dated. On the plus side, the room was relatively clean (except the lounge), and the bed was reasonably comfortable. However, the booking process was a nightmare: I booked two nights through a third-party site, then cancelled one night within the no-cost window and rebooked accordingly. Despite this, upon arrival (reception was only open until 3 pm), they had two bookings for me instead of one and could only put me in a spa suite (which I didn't need). After some haggling, the receptionist lowered the price, but it was still more than the quoted rate. At that point, I decided not to argue further. Obviously, pets are allowed, as a barky dog was next door! On a MASSIVE NEGATIVE, I was getting out of bed to shower when I was confronted by a woman letting herself into my room with a key—no warning, no knock. This is very, very poor form. I should have snubbed the door, but this is a huge security lapse. Other areas where the inn needs improvement: The alarm clock wasn't plugged in or set. Wi-Fi speed was very slow—barely worth the effort. The showerhead had green calcification all over it. The fan in the ensuite sounded like it was about to take off. Wi-Fi signs and other notices were dirty and brown. The air conditioning unit is ancient and ineffective, even at 18 degrees on a hot night. All the wood paneling is chipped and worn, in desperate need of an overhaul. The linen was thread

Mould in the bathroom is not just unsightly it has the potential to be damaging to your health. Poor cleaning practices are becoming all too common in motels. There realy needs to be a review of practices and training in this area, It seems owners think just keeping the job with a relative to keep costs down. It just lowers the standard. Two star motel!

Front counter Staff were great. Room was disgustingly dirty. Every single sitting surface like two couches all the dining chairs Etc. were not only stained but crusted in filth. You could tell the room had been surface cleaned forever but it hadn't had any fabric or carpet cleaning. Only two teaspoons in the drawer(dirty). No batteries in aircon remote (rectified the next day). Shower basin leaked water everywhere so had to use a extra towel to stop the bathroom floor flooding. You almost need two strong adults to close the bathroom door. Staff great. Just need the rooms deep cleaned occasionally. This was an upgrade I believe. I would have taken a cheaper clean room.

First impressions at reception friendly staff asked if we could have late checkout they were happy to oblige could have given more direction as to where our room was, went all the way up the other end but our room was pretty much right above reception. They also explained as we asked about balcony the door was broken so needed to be careful. Once getting to our room we did realise the balcony door was actually fully broken and had to move whole door to side for safety. On first impression the room did not seem clean the shower screen looked very dirty. The next morning we woke to coffee tea and sugar sachets no milk had to call down to reception for some, could also have provided more sugar. Our room had a spa bath and went to run it and soap residue still on the soap holder and hair in the jets had to give it a good clean before we could use it, then turned the jets on and one off the jets totally blew off so all in all wasn't a very nice experience and will definately not be going back

Nice stocked kitchenette, shower could have had a better scrub. Suited our needs for a short stay!

Found the shower area dirty around the door area with mould and calcium buildup….. carpet upstairs was lifted in areas and formed a trip area near the bed and door area…

Floors didnt look mopped when arriving other than that. the location was perfect room was close to the laundry. heater was on at the perfect time. good walking distance to clifford gardens. I would recommend this place to anyone travelling with kids.

Our room was very spacious, clean and quiet. The hotel is centrally located, a short walk to the gardens in Laurel Bank and Clifford Gardens Shopping Centre. Staff were very helpful

Old and out dated. When someone had a shower, the pipes made a horrible noise throughout the rooms. Not your shower but other rooms. . Street traffic was loud

Easy to find, clean, spacious, easy parking. A brisk walk into the centre of town, information for the area available. Bed was good, TV and bathroom also a good size. Fold out couch available.

Staff was awesome and it was pet friendly. Light in our bathroom didn’t work and pullout couch was broken

The room was spacious, neat & clean & the reception staff were lovely. Unfortunately the room we had was right at the front of the inn on the main road & the traffic noise was quite bad till very late. But, it needn’t have mattered as the aircon was the noisiest I have ever heard & woke me up repeatedly, keeping me awake thoughout the night. As it was August, we really needed to leave it on & which, really shouldn’t have been a problem, I got 2 hours sleep, which before an early start for a long drive the next day, was less than ideal.

There was hardly any water coming out of the shower in the room 8. It was very difficult to mix it to the right temperature. The tap in the zinc is totally loose, which I have reported to the office.

We had a wonderful stay at Highlander motor inn. Staff were lovely, particularly Mandy who was on front desk and also delivered our breakfast in the morning. They were very accommodating and friendly. The rooms were humble, clean and comfortable. The breakfast was delicious and very affordable. Will not hesitate to return.

All good, but very busy and noisy for a week's stay. Hospital and university close by. We did not know Toowoomba, should have done more research about the area. Would be ok for one or two nights.

Very close to hospital for a family members admission. Inside the unit was very clean and tidy. Had everything that we required and beds were very comfortable. Breakfast was lovely. Only thing I could fault was the big ashtrays outside our room werent emptied and I hate cigarette butts. Other than that I would definitely stay again.

Comfortable and clean motel close to shopping centre and base hospital. Medical centre across the road. Good size room with kitchen, dining table, microwave and toaster. Great motel for visiting anything in Toowoomba.

Great staff. Room is aged but in good condition. Needs a general refurb, but good value for money. Fair bit of road noise from West St. until quite late into the evening as our room was on that side of the facility, but we were there on a Saturday night, so it may have been worse than normal due to that reason. Overall, happy with the experience for the one night we spent there. Thanks

Best steak Ive ever had. We had perfect room service. We ordered Dinner and breakfast as room service and everything on our very different choices was delicious. Extremely friendly staff and big rooms also. Very glad I found this place for my regular stays in Towoomba.

Motel has availability of dinner options although we didn't take advantage of this the prices were reasonably priced. Breakfast was great value. We shared a big breakfast and were both full before eating pancakes as well. Plunge coffee as well. A 4 minute walk to small shopping area with multiple eateries & bottle-o. Rooms are spacious & well appointed with kitchenette including microwave.
