In a quiet rural village, this traditional pub has a fabulous garden wih a covered area. The rooms are seperate from the pub and our ground floor room had a little private garden. I would recommend for a country retreat.

Booked in to have Sunday lunch and to stay the night. Lunch was fine, but went out in the afternoon and came back at 21.20 expecting to have a couple of drinks only to find the bar closed. Tried to book breakfast for Monday morning and was told that they do not do breakfast on Mondays, despite the fact that the sign in the car park clearly says Bed and Breakfast and it was also stated as being available on Hotels.com website. Room was adequate. Bottled water provided but no drinking glasses. Tea and coffee with cups but no saucers

After a long day walking arriving here was a pleasure. The staff were welcoming and although the kitchen was about to close they held off closing and served me.The room was just what was needed. Clean, and quite, and a comfortable bed. In the morning there was a very generous continental breakfast that kept me going for quite a long stretch of that day's walking without need to refuel! I would most certainly recommend this place and would definitely stay again if I was passing through.

Disappointed to discover that food wasn’t being served as this had been one of the factors for choosing the White Horse. No help from the staff to find somewhere to eat. The room was tired and shabby as was the bathroom. General maintenance was poor and the standard of housekeeping could have been better. Continental Breakfast was basic with no attention. They seemed more interest in perusing the bill for breakfast than any service. Certainly wouldn’t recommend the White Horse or return on a future occasion.

The room clean a tidy with a really nice duck down duvet, tea and coffee provided + a dresser & chair. Shower was good size and hot. The staff & locals were very welcoming, food was very good. When i am back up that way i will be booking a room here again.

Lovely pub, staff are very personable, friendly and go out of their way to help accommodate. Bed was very comfortable clean white towels supplied, room was spacious and everything you needed in there. tea and coffee facilities in room plus bottled water (nice touch) our stay was peaceful and quiet, just what we needed after a long journey. Food menu has good selection and food itself was lovely. Saw lots of other dishes come out during our stay and look forward to our return to try something different.

This accomodation seemed like a nice country retreat. The welcome just covered that, with staff involved seeming to be rather run off their feet. The room was cold and one might say 'dank' as if we were the first to set foot in there this season [and it was June] It was stated in the booking that one had to provide ones own bed linnen and towels, there were towels and one of the beds was made up. The beds were 'well used', so could have been better. There is wifi, but it's so intermittent and weak [in the room] that in fact there is no wifi. The guest policy needs looking into as we were kept up one night by rowdy guests in a nearby room. We had to go and ask for coffee, tea and milk [provided] to fill up the supply, again the staff were 'very busy' and 'things are stored away'.

We really enjoyed our stay here. It was quiet and in a nice location close enough to town but not actually IN town. The staff was very friendly and breakfast was really good. The only downside was the shower which was very weak.

This is a lovely small very old pub with separate adjacent accommodation. We had a 1st floor room which was a good size, with a standard size double bed, beautiful views over fields of wheat. We had a lovely meal in the pub and the staff were very helpful and friendly, there is a large beer garden and separate small restaurant. It’s in open countryside so not close to other facilities however we were looking for somewhere quiet so this suited us perfectly, a bonus is that the checkout time is 11am, so no need to get up early. Tea/coffee provided, plus shampoo & hair dryer.

Friendly staff and a beautiful property. Ate in the pub restaurant and food was excellent. Lovely location. Would definitely stay here again!

Disappointed to discover that food wasn’t being served as this had been one of the factors for choosing the White Horse. No help from the staff to find somewhere to eat. The room was tired and shabby as was the bathroom. General maintenance was poor and the standard of housekeeping could have been better. Continental Breakfast was basic with no attention. They seemed more interest in perusing the bill for breakfast than any service. Certainly wouldn’t recommend the White Horse or return on a future occasion.

Booked in to have Sunday lunch and to stay the night. Lunch was fine, but went out in the afternoon and came back at 21.20 expecting to have a couple of drinks only to find the bar closed. Tried to book breakfast for Monday morning and was told that they do not do breakfast on Mondays, despite the fact that the sign in the car park clearly says Bed and Breakfast and it was also stated as being available on Hotels.com website. Room was adequate. Bottled water provided but no drinking glasses. Tea and coffee with cups but no saucers

The room clean a tidy with a really nice duck down duvet, tea and coffee provided + a dresser & chair. Shower was good size and hot. The staff & locals were very welcoming, food was very good. When i am back up that way i will be booking a room here again.

Great people, old building so creaky stairs 🙄 lovely sized room, bathroom could do with a little tlc, but perfectly adequate. The food was delicious 😋

After a long day walking arriving here was a pleasure. The staff were welcoming and although the kitchen was about to close they held off closing and served me.The room was just what was needed. Clean, and quite, and a comfortable bed. In the morning there was a very generous continental breakfast that kept me going for quite a long stretch of that day's walking without need to refuel! I would most certainly recommend this place and would definitely stay again if I was passing through.

Great find for a pit stop journey down. Will be back down in a couple weeks. Immaculate bathroom and nice to be able to open be doors of my room to let some air in, it’s been mega hot! Breakfast was plentiful and dinner was yummy, fish and chips 👌
