The staff were lovely. The room was clean and modern but there was no hot water, on reporting this, I was told you have to let the water run for about half an hour. I had a Luke warm shower and the water never got hot. The restaurant was closed for the week for cleaning so dinner was not available. Both of these issues should have been listed as conditions before we booked.

Great one night stay. Free breakfast which was good and fresh. Lots of free parking. Friendly and helpful check in staff and good sized room! Considering it was about £55 for a night, I was happily surprised by the quality of my stay.

We have stayed at the hotel every few weeks in the last four months to visit family living locally. Although the hotel needs a little bit of work in certain areas ie a little bit of refurbishing, we find it to be close to the high street and has private parking. The rooms are spacious and have everything you need for a short break including air conditioning and tea and coffee making facilities. The hotel has a restaurant downstairs and although the menu is small, the food is really tasty and reasonably priced. The breakfast is inclusive in the price and there is a good choice of cereals, fruits, fruit juices and a cooked breakfast buffet. The staff are very welcoming, friendly and helpful and always polite. We have met Alfie, a member of staff on each occasion we have stayed and we think he is a valuable member of staff. Nothing is too much trouble for him and he can be found at the check in desk, behind the bar and helping in the kitchen. He’s always very welcoming, polite and extremely helpful, a great member of the hotels staff. Thank you to all the staff involved in the running of the hotel, you’re a great team.

booked this hotel for a two night stay to visit some friends,chosen because it had an elevator, on-site bar and restaurant. Check in was fine, but was surprised to be asked to pay in full upon arrival, rather than at the end. The room was a good size, but the corridors were tired, grubby and a bit threadbare. even with all the lights on, the room was dark and gloomy. tv was tiny, there was no water glasses but 2 mugs for instant tea and coffee. There was a balcony but it was dirty with cobwebs, bird feces and cigarette butts, and had some tacky plastic nettting to to prevent the pigeons. THe real problem was the bathroom. It was grubby, there was so much grout missing from the floor tiles I could see the plastic spacers between the floor tiles, no tissues, no face clothes. The shower was antiquated but worked. Except it was impossible for my mobility comprised husband to use the shower as it had no vertical grab bars for safety. Wewent down for dinner. First issue virtually no on tap alcohol because of ‘some issue with the brewery’. Very disappointing, after my 150 mile drive I was looking forward to a cider and they only had some fruit flavoured ones. Not sure why they couldn’t go to the local tescos and buy some, no Guinness, no aspalls, no Stella. Not great for the loads of fishermen who were booked in at the same time. The food was just okay.service very good. Included breakfast was good. But overall disappointing and we wouldn’t go back again.

Staff were amazing however my room was a nice size unfortunately the single bed headboard had been ripped off at the back, double bed was comfortable the bathroom was awful bath panel all broken not very clean and shower head never worked properly needs some tlc. Outside my door one of the ceiling panels was missing unsightly. Breakfast was really nice but my stay was worth what i paid

The room was dirty, dust every where, the toilet was dirty, needed some bleach. Mold, around the bath, wardrobe handle was broken, and the balcony door was left open and was really hard to shut it. The dirty room made me not want to have breakfast as I did not trust the cleanliness. I paid £100 for 1 night which I think is totally unacceptable for the state of the room. Will not be staying there again.

We have stayed here before so this influenced our choice this time. The room was very spacious and had air-con which was nice. The cleanliness left a lot to be desired though. When the beside lamps were on the thick dust on the walls and the lamp base was very clear to see, as was the cobwebs and grime in the corners of the room. The floor had not been vacuumed either. The bed base had some ominous stains running down it too. It was a real shame that the cleanliness let it down. The staff were very friendly and the check in was a breeze. The breakfast was delicious. We would stay again but the room we were in definitely needed a deep clean unlike the previous one we had which was in the main building.

check in ok. bed linen was terrible badly stained grubby. ceiling tiles stained. towels old thin holed. out side bed balcony covered with bird poo. blinds broken, well passed there sell by date. general b and b in need of a new update. very quickly. on complaint bedding was changed and balcony was cleaned to a fashion.

After looking at the photos of the hotel and noting it had 8.2 star rating I thought this would be a good place to stay for a couple of nights. Sadly this was not the case. The hotel looks tired, the carpets are stained and flooring scratched in the main areas. Paint work needs renewing. But the biggest problem was the cleanliness or rather the lack of it. Our room was large and had some good facilities like a TV, tea and coffee and a kettle, sofa bed and sofa and a balcony. The sofa bed was ripped on the corner and the foam was showing. The leather sofa had a thick layer of dust on the top. The balcony has a net over it to stop the pigeons flying in. Fabulous, except no one had cleaned off the old faeces that was on top of the air conditioning unit or the cigarette butts which were strewn across the floor of the balcony. The bathroom was just as bad. There was black mould around the shower screen and the grouting and a hole at the back of the screen which meant the water ran out of the shower and onto the floor making it very slippery. The shower dripped continuously to the point where we had to use the noise of the air conditioner to cover the dripping noise. The radiator in the bathroom had cobwebs and dust in it. Things had obviously come off the wall and rawl plugs remained where the holes had been in all different colours. Mattress was dirty so were the pillows and linen was marked. The rainfall shower head fell on my head when I took a shower.

Quiet location with a large car park. We had an Executive Double Room, which had lots of space, as well as a balcony. Great choice for breakfast, hot food (bacon, egg, sausage, beans), fruit, yoghurt, cereals and toast, tea, coffee & juice. Lovely newly refurbished bar area too, friendly and helpful staff.

I was in room three. first the shower was not working and there was only one towel for a double room with two occupants. There was a lot of noise from what I think was a generator in the room below. This was my worst night in a hotel.The room was clean and set up on point.

The bathroom radiator did not work, so it was really cold in there and there was black mould on the soap dispenser and bath trim. Bathroom overall was very dated. The building is just a bit tired looking and just looks like old offices. It was a bed for the night, which was all I needed. Bed was comfy though and the staff were nice enough and the price was reasonable.

Thr room was freezing at first after 20 minutes the manager got the heater working. I think they could be very under dtaffrd as 3 of us was waiting at reception a whole nobody in te bar area or anything Very dirty inloved place . I stayed 18 months ago it was fine. I travel alot wth business and this had to be the worst bathroom ive been in . That bad i thought if this is the same as kitchens i. Not eating here . So never went to breakfast because of it. I told the manger . Shame as sometimes visit March often.

When I arrived there was no one at reception. after a wait of approximately 6 minutes a young man appeared and gave me the key card. I went up to the room and I found that the floor was not swept properly. The towels provided in the bathroom were filthy which prompted me to closely examine the bedding. The duvet cover had stains on the underside so I decided to turn it over. Also all of the room doors were what can only described as requiring renewing. They were scratched and scuffed and looked like they had all been kicked which Immediately made me worry that I'd chosen the wrong hotel. I found out later that the hotel had been housing immigrants for a long while and i don't think that the new owners had actually refurbished since. The outside temperature when I booked in was about 32 degrees so after getting someone the young lad from reception to show me how the air conditioning worked I asked for an extra key card to allow me to leave the aircon on for when I got back in the evening. I was told that the management didn't allow more than one key. The following morning I asked the reception to replace the towels and was told the cleaners would do that. When I arrived back in the evening they hadn't been replaced at all. I went back to the hotel to collect something in the early afternoon so needed someone to open my door as I had left my key in the room but there was no one there at all. I have mor complaints but no more room to express them. The worst hotel I've known.

We have stayed here before so this influenced our choice this time. The room was very spacious and had air-con which was nice. The cleanliness left a lot to be desired though. When the beside lamps were on the thick dust on the walls and the lamp base was very clear to see, as was the cobwebs and grime in the corners of the room. The floor had not been vacuumed either. The bed base had some ominous stains running down it too. It was a real shame that the cleanliness let it down. The staff were very friendly and the check in was a breeze. The breakfast was delicious. We would stay again but the room we were in definitely needed a deep clean unlike the previous one we had which was in the main building.

Quiet location with a large car park. We had an Executive Double Room, which had lots of space, as well as a balcony. Great choice for breakfast, hot food (bacon, egg, sausage, beans), fruit, yoghurt, cereals and toast, tea, coffee & juice. Lovely newly refurbished bar area too, friendly and helpful staff.

Good service at reception, no issues there. Room was cold when we arrived, it could have been warmed up using the air con, it took an hour for the room to warm up. The staff were lovely. The room was clean and modern but there was no hot water, on reporting this, I was told you have to let the water run for about half an hour. I had a Luke warm shower and the water never got hot. The restaurant was closed for the week for cleaning so dinner was not available. Both of these issues should have been listed as conditions before we booked.

At breakfast on 9/8/26 told too much cooked food wastage day before, so breakfast would be prepared in the kitchen. People on the next table commented if it arrives very quickly, it is yesterday’s food reheated. It arrived in a couple of minutes, it looked very dried up & was luke warm. No cooking smells were coming from the kitchen. Queried if it was yesterday’s food reheated. Waitress said if wanted fresh, we would have to wait at least 20 mins. Said we didn’t want reheated food, wanted fresh so our plates were taken away. Woke one morning to air con not working, Only socket in room working was kettle. Reception man Dan aka the manager came & fixed it by resetting the fuse board & resetting the aircon on the balcony. He failed to notice 2 pigeons that had got through the netting onto our balcony so went down again to ask him to remove them. He rolled his eyes so I removed them myself after several attempts. Used the disabled toilet and there was no toilet paper, only blue hand towels. When the reception man Dan aka the manager was told, he said that the toilet would be cleaned later.

Keys to the lodge didn’t work properly went to reception twice awaiting someone. The air con in bedroom didn’t work probably not for years no remote either. Shower flooded the bathroom spent ages mopping water with towel. Breakfast in morning all cold, won’t be returning, room not clean and dated.

The air conditioning was broken in the first room, so I was moved to another that had a fuse box making concerning noises. The air conditioning in the second room was not much better, and the breakfast was abysmal. The staff, however, were polite and helpful throughout.

This hotel is little better than third world. Very poorly furnished rooms, probably 1960. Dirty bathroom. Weeds all over the car park. Cupboard with no shelf. Just looks extremely tired and that nobody cares about guests. We left after seeing the room and booked in at Bramley House Hotel which was excellent. I will be seeking a full refund. DO NOT STAY HERE.
