The Steamboat House Bed & Breakfast

My daughter and I took a little mini trip to Galena for two nights. We loved staying in the Steamboat Inn! The room was spacious with its own bathroom. All the tiny little details, decorating, flowers, wallpaper, just everything, made it so special. I loved learning about the history of the Inn, the billiards room, and choosing a movie from their wide variety in the library. Breakfast was delicious. It was such a treat to be served at a formal table with multiple courses. That has not been my typical experience. I was also happy to have the extra treats like the wine-and-cheese hour, the nightly cookies or brownies, and an early-morning coffee-and-tea service in the upstairs parlor. The location was perfect, just a block from the main shopping street in Galena, giving us access to shops and restaurants. I will stay there again for sure! I highly recommend it.

Beautiful home, felt like a step back in time. Kind and thoughtful hosts. The little touches like coffee service, cheese and wine happy hour, fresh cookies in the evening, were much appreciated. The breakfast was amazing! Convenient parking in the rear- we walked everywhere and let the car sit during our visit.
