Un accueil chaleureux, dans une ambiance cosy (les parties communes donnent envie de glander une journée entiere dans un des canapé ou dans le jardin) les douches etaient spacieuses et propres, les chambres propres et confortables. On entend un peu les bruits de couloirs aux "heures de pointe" mais pour ce rapport qualité prix, c'est anecdotique !

My second stay in this hostel. It was just as good as my first stay, lots of stuff to do, nice area to hang out, nice people and friendly staff. It is super clean and you get everything you need. The receptionist was very helpful, too :)

This accommodation is extremely surprising, compared to many others. It feels more like a well kept, vibrant and relaxed large house instead of a commercial property, while still maintaining an excellent level of staff attendance, and security and room availability. All of the guests staying there were very friendly, and there are plenty of sinks, cooking areas, fridges, food storage and bathrooms available. The lounge area is large and cosy, and they serve delicious ice cream and chocolate cake every single night! Also, as an extra bonus, there's a very friendly and approachable female cat that always is happy to receive attention. Recommend 10/10, can't think of any faults at all.

My stay at Tasman Bay Backpackers was great, the staff were really friendly and welcoming and the hostel was clean throughout. It’s close to the centre of town but very quiet at night. The nightly chocolate pudding was a nice touch and great opportunity to chat to others in the communal areas.

We were going to be late arriving adter the ferry broke down. An email was replied to quickly and an envelope with access codes left taped to the door. Thank you. Lovely friendly and homely stay, staff were very gelpful and the chocolate pudding and ice fream delicious, thank you again. Good location, quiet but easy access to town. Would definitely use again.

This is an awesome backpackers! Located 5 minute walk from town, well equipped for travellers, with plenty of additional thoughtful touches to promote a sense of community for those that stay. Out door hammocks, and garden seating areas, an indoor fire, comfy couches, an electric piano, guitar, a clothing trading chest along with chocolate pudding and ice cream served each night at 8, all promoted a sense of home away from home. Staff were friendly, efficient and the kitchen was clearly signed with instructions to promote a clean well functioning area. There was a lovely vibe and sense of caring amongst visitors. We loved it!

After traveling long hrs we realized that check in was until 8pm. We were way passed that. Drive by to property and found instructions inside an envelope on how to go in 🙌. People staying there were very nice. Place was clean and very nice.

Bestes Hostel, bester Schokopudding, bestes Team! Ich habe zwei Wochen in dem Hostel verbracht und mich zu jeder Zeit rundum wohl gefühlt. Es ist sauber, man kommt schnell in Kontakt mit den anderen Reisenden und die Lage ist ebenfalls super! Ich komme auf jeden Fall wieder :)
Bestes Hostel, bester Schokopudding, bestes Team! Ich habe zwei Wochen in dem Hostel verbracht und mich zu jeder Zeit rundum wohl gefühlt. Es ist sauber, man kommt schnell in Kontakt mit den anderen Reisenden und die Lage ist ebenfalls super! Ich komme auf jeden Fall wieder :)

The people are very noisy downstairs. The positive thing I can say is the place is ok and gardens homey and free pudding and ice cream but yes only good for one night stay coz of the people who stayed there longer are noisy. That’s the truth.

The place is ok but the problem was the stayer of the hostel they’re very noisy talking and laughing up to past midnight as if no cares in the world! The washing room only has a separate hot and cold water literally! It’s either you washed your face or hands with freezing cold or boiling hot water! You choose.

Traveler arrived for check in 2 hours into the designated check-in time and was told that she wouldn’t be able to check in for another hour or so because there was no one to do it. She was exhausted and needing rest after traveling for 24 hrs, and wasn’t directed to a common area to wait, but invited to put her suitcase in a closet of some sort. She was able to check in 45-60 min later, and the space was fine. Just unavailable and confusing at a time when it would’ve been preferred to have the room and check-in process as described.

We were going to be late arriving adter the ferry broke down. An email was replied to quickly and an envelope with access codes left taped to the door. Thank you. Lovely friendly and homely stay, staff were very gelpful and the chocolate pudding and ice fream delicious, thank you again. Good location, quiet but easy access to town. Would definitely use again.

This is an awesome backpackers! Located 5 minute walk from town, well equipped for travellers, with plenty of additional thoughtful touches to promote a sense of community for those that stay. Out door hammocks, and garden seating areas, an indoor fire, comfy couches, an electric piano, guitar, a clothing trading chest along with chocolate pudding and ice cream served each night at 8, all promoted a sense of home away from home. Staff were friendly, efficient and the kitchen was clearly signed with instructions to promote a clean well functioning area. There was a lovely vibe and sense of caring amongst visitors. We loved it!

This accommodation is extremely surprising, compared to many others. It feels more like a well kept, vibrant and relaxed large house instead of a commercial property, while still maintaining an excellent level of staff attendance, and security and room availability. All of the guests staying there were very friendly, and there are plenty of sinks, cooking areas, fridges, food storage and bathrooms available. The lounge area is large and cosy, and they serve delicious ice cream and chocolate cake every single night! Also, as an extra bonus, there's a very friendly and approachable female cat that always is happy to receive attention. Recommend 10/10, can't think of any faults at all.

The hostel was amazing. The atmosphere was really relaxed and it was easy to meet other people. Especially the chocolate pudding helped with that.

My stay at Tasman Bay Backpackers was great, the staff were really friendly and welcoming and the hostel was clean throughout. It’s close to the centre of town but very quiet at night. The nightly chocolate pudding was a nice touch and great opportunity to chat to others in the communal areas.

1泊だけしました。友達を作るためにはいいバックパッカーだなと思いました。バックパッカー内のワッツアップグループもあったし長期滞在には良さそうです。お風呂やトイレはまあまあ綺麗でしたがヘアドライヤーはなかったです。また、空調の効きが悪くて部屋が寒くて夜何回も目覚めました。わたしのようにハイキングのためにネルソン泊まる人はヘアドライヤーがあってピカピカなYHAのほうがいいかなと思いました。ワーホリや友達が作りたい人にはおすすめです！

The room was clean, but the bed was extremely creaky. Being of an older age group, probably not the best place for me, as the young ones were quite rowdy till late hours, also stomping around loudly. One was vomiting loudly in the middle of the night, which was unpleasant to hear. These are not the fault of the property managers, but indicates the demographic you may have to encounter. Other than that my room was clean, bedding was clean with fresh towels. Secure parking. Suited my budget and travelling situation for the night.
