It was a great stay here,very comfortable and warm. Food freshly cooked,bacon sandwiches were awesome! Turkish meal in the restaurant was delicious and authentic. Staff could not help you enough, cant wait to stay again. Its worth mentioning that all rooms are upstairs and theres no lift.

The hotel was clean although a bit dated. Breakfast was a fry up or not. There was a cereal option and toast. Would have been nice to have some fruit but hey ho it was ok. The bar was a bit hit and miss. I think they are missing a trick by not developing that side of things. I would stay there again

Only a 1-night stay on business, but the check-in was prompt and friendly, room comfortable, plenty of sockets for laptops, iPads, phones etc and the food in the restaurant (I had the meatball starter and combination shish for main), was excellent. Full English in the morning could have been a bit more impressive, but overall a good stay. Fully recommend for short business trips.

I wasn’t expecting the restaurant to be phenomenal. I book budget hotels every week for work and have grown to expect mediocre food. However I arrived at this place and was met by really friendly staff, a nice room (it’s not the ritz, but I had nothing to complain about at all) and me and my staff went down to the restaurant and had the best food I’ve ever had in a hotel! It was so nice, all home made and made well! The staff were so lovely as well. Put it this way, I’ve never left a review in my life, but it was such an amazing stay, I felt I HAD to leave a review this time.

Room was spotless clean, as was the rest of the hotel. Staff was friendly. Breakfast was ample with toast and cereal provided free, cooked if required was a small charge . Will be staying again, easy parking and good area for what we wanted.

We had to change room due the awful conditions of the first room. The next room wasn't much better, toilet would only flush once, full of cobwebs, radiator did not work, bed was dirty, no pillow or mattress protectors and very uncomfortable. No toiletries provided. No towels, had to ask for them. People in other rooms were very loud at night keeping us awake! Staff were not really helpful. Breakfast was very poor, even got the order wrong. Parking was ok.

The bed was comfy and the bedding good. The wooden window frame is falling apart and covered in black mold. The bathroom was ok. Service terrible - I felt like an inconvenience checking in. Ok if you want something cheap and don't mind the above. I won't be staying again.

Staff were nice, particularly the lady in the morning. The rooms were great but unfortunately a bit dirty in the bathroom. Floor in the bathroom was very dusty and there were someone else's black curley hairs on the bath. No handsoap and not replenished after asking (i bought some when i went out as i thought this would happen). I really wish the full breakfast was included as it looked mouth watering! Despite the very minor dirt in the bathroom, i would love to stay there again.

Faulty towers. Doesn’t help a language barrier immediately. Toilet seat wasn’t commected. How did the cleaner not notice? Radiator and bathroom radiator didn’t work so room freezing. Rooms are all upstairs so not a good place for people with disabilities. The beds were rock hard. It was like sleeping on the floor. There wasn’t any daily cleaning and we had to bring our dirty towels to them and then pick up new towels daily. Internet access was bad at best. Even on their WiFi signal was not good.

1st thing I need to point out is that I received a phone call from the hotel asking what time I was checking in! There is no mention of a check in time needed on website. I had to change plans to ensure I checked in. I do understand that staff have lives and the lady on reception was very apologetic but still ..,,, 2nd thing , there is no lift. I was given a room on the 2nd floor and had to lift my very heavy suitcase up several flights of stairs ( I’m no spring chicken ) 3rd thing , the TV had no remote. And because I arrived late and given the fact the lady on reception clearly needed to rest, I did not feel I could ask for help. 4th thing, I could hear an entire conversation being had in the room next to me. No one’s fault but obviously the walls are thin so bring earplugs. On the positive side . The bed was very comfortable and the room was clean

The room was functional rather than homely, however, it was clean, the bed was comfortable and it had a decent shower once you worked out how to get the water hot. Although the room price included breakfast, this did not include a cooked breakfast. If you wanted a cooked breakfast you had to pay extra starting at £8.00. I wasn't happy at this extra cost.

My only comment would be the fire doors on the landings could do with being soft-shutting (even by having rubber pads stuck on the doorposts) as they bang shut every time anyone goes through them.

Staff at check in and breakfast were lovely and very welcoming. The room was much smaller than I thought it would be but the bed was comfortable. Unfortunately, we were woken several times, the most annoying being at 6.30am, due to a very noisy boiler that seemed to echo throughout the entire second floor. We were unfortunate enough to arrive back to the hotel in the evening to hear a heated argument between staff/management in which foul language and insults flew freely from a disgruntled female employee. Just uncomfortable for guests to overhear! The room was quite dusty and very basic and the bath panel was cracked and damaged in several places, which made it look in need of some TLC. Dining areas were very clean and well presented and the cooked breakfast was plentiful and tasty. Good location to town centre.

Whilst the room was fine for the price, the radiator heat was at maximum and on all night, with no dial to be able to turn it down, it was far too hot all night, the window only opens an inch and with the noise of rain, traffic it wasn’t a pleasant night sleep! Ideally turn the heating off during night or apply a dial so it can be turned down! Lovely & clean hotel & breakfast was good.

The hotel needs a complete renovation very basic. Carpets threadbare even on stairs. One staff member seemed to try and do most things from checking in taking orders at breakfast and cooking it etc. She was very helpful always seemed to be present from morning until night.

From the moment I arrived, the experience was unacceptable. The staff immediately charged me an additional fee simply for checking in late, something that should have been handled with basic professionalism and courtesy. During my stay, while I was away attending my course, I received a call accusing me of not checking out, even though my reservation clearly extended until the following day. This demonstrates either gross incompetence or a complete disregard for guests. The staff were not only unapologetic but also consistently rude throughout the interaction. Their behavior reflects a lack of integrity and respect for customers. I would strongly advise against staying here, as this establishment seems more interested in exploiting guests than providing even the most basic standard of hospitality.

Fantastic stay. Staff were very friendly and welcoming from the moment we stepped in. Rooms were well appointed, clean and spacious. Food in the restaurant was Superb! Cannot praise the staff highly enough, if only all hotels had the same level of service, customer interaction and charm. Full marks to the chef! Would definitely stay there again. 11/10

It was central staff were pleasant though on other points it was poor - breakfast was substandard, hash brown , only 1,was still cold on underside, one small poor quality sausage, no tomato, no mushroom, no toast with meal. Juice was cordial. Room heaters were turned off overnight and day- worked evening and morning. Room quiet small. Shower cut out. 1/2 pint was £6. No lounge area. Staff smoked just outside front.

Lovely host, great location, lots of parking, smashing breakfast. Room was old fashioned but spacious and very clean. Ceiling needs attention.

Could do with some modernisation bedroom bin was dirty, bathroom toilet smelly, place run down and grimey, noisy at night but on main road so maybe expected.

We stayed here for two nights as we had tickets for the Palace Theatre in Mansfield which was just a 5 min drive away. Also had booked onto the Dropworks Rum Distillery Tour on the Welbeck Estate which was a 20/25 minute drive away so excellent location for both these events. The room was a good size with everything you needed, nice and quiet too. Breakfast was good also with very attentive staff. Ate in the restaurant on our last evening which was lovely, chose the Turkish options, chicken and lamb shish with rice and salad. Overall a good stay and very reasonable.

I chose it for its proximity to Mansfield Crematorium, not to risk being delayed travelling the same day, but I was pleased with it. Friendly staff. Good choice of Turkish and Italian food for dinner. I enjoyed the spinach ravioli with cheese sauce and lemon and pistachio cheesecake.

The guys at reception gave a warm welcome and helped with the bags to our room. Room was basically fine however the kettle could have done with a better clean. Decoration of the room was a little tired, but probably fine for most guys. The full English Breakfast was very good, well cooked and quality produce. My wife is gluten free, so had no alternatives such as porridge. Made do with some bacon and egg. The evening meal was also very good, but with a busy restaurant, service was a little slow. Not long re-opened so that might be why. A lack of ice for drinks was a little surprising, but more was sourced and all was made good. Would stay again, but will take ear plugs as the bedroom walls are quite thin.

It was a great stay here,very comfortable and warm. Food freshly cooked,bacon sandwiches were awesome! Turkish meal in the restaurant was delicious and authentic. Staff could not help you enough, cant wait to stay again. Its worth mentioning that all rooms are upstairs and theres no lift.

The room was functional rather than homely, however, it was clean, the bed was comfortable and it had a decent shower once you worked out how to get the water hot. Although the room price included breakfast, this did not include a cooked breakfast. If you wanted a cooked breakfast you had to pay extra starting at £8.00. I wasn't happy at this extra cost.

I wasn’t expecting the restaurant to be phenomenal. I book budget hotels every week for work and have grown to expect mediocre food. However I arrived at this place and was met by really friendly staff, a nice room (it’s not the ritz, but I had nothing to complain about at all) and me and my staff went down to the restaurant and had the best food I’ve ever had in a hotel! It was so nice, all home made and made well! The staff were so lovely as well. Put it this way, I’ve never left a review in my life, but it was such an amazing stay, I felt I HAD to leave a review this time.

I don't know where to start. Bedrooms absolutely disgusting, blood all over the mattress, snott on the walls, what looked like bed bugs all over the floor and mould everywhere. Asked for a room change and was practically thrown out of the hotel. Promised hotel.com would refund. When I got it touch with you I was told they had refused the refund and I'd get 25 back from 2 rooms. I will be taking this further.

Terrible stay. No staff around, terrible communication with "emergency" number. Room not what was stated on website. Bar and restaurant not open even though was a Friday evening. As I had no communication with the emergency number I contacted hotels.com. They rang the number just to be told "sorry I'm busy" then hung up. I didn't feel safe so I told my husband that I wanted to leave. We then checked I to another hotel for £200. There was a no refund policy but not even an acknowledgement of thier unprofessionalism. AVOID!
