Gorgeous location, unexpected amenities, comfortable beds. Loved the barbecue grill for each unit.

Cosy room, clean bathroom, useable kitchen with all useful appliances. Loved the back yard with the fire pit. A little bit of a drive from our home but it was worth the effort. I would come again.

We only stayed one night at the Starlite Motel. This motel is not like other places we have stayed. It was quiet and it had character. We really liked that our room included a small kitchen. The bed was comfortable and everything was clean. The backyard area was great for us to relax with friends and play games. I would love to come back and stay longer to enjoy the area and I would definitely take advantage of the grills and fire pit. If you’re looking for “modern” this may not be for you, but if you’re looking for something quaint with a little character, it is perfect. We loved our one night stay and would like to visit again in the future.

No frills, good value if not looking for top line chain. Perfect for two guys on a fishing trip. Great grilling area and fire pit. Clean bathroom, new mattress on beds - very comfy, nice basic kitchenette. Clean and good value.

The beds, room and kitchen were clean and comfortable. The management here has clearly made an effort to make guests comfortable. Amenities that one would expect at a 4- or 5-star motel, like new towels, toiletries like shampoo and conditioner, coffee and coffee maker, campfire and firewood, iron, and more are here. Like many Catskill inns, the Starlite is showing its age after decades of use and generations of tourists. It badly needs a reno. There is still a market for a 2-star strip motel where your car is parked just outside the door, but its time is passed. It would be nice to think the Starlite and other inns like it, with an update into the 21st century, could survive and thrive when the Catskills eventually recover and rejuvenate from an economy that has left this region a sleepy backwater with fewer tourists willing to make the drive and tolerate a lack of good restaurants and attractions like museums and historic places. The Catskills are beautiful. They offer unbelievable opportunities for hiking, camping, skiing, snowshoe outings and other outdoor activities. It would be great if the Starlite could be a part of a thriving Catskills region in the future.

The property was beautiful! Definitely coming back!

I wasn't there to be connected to my devices but the wifi was spotty if you are traveling for business or with kids. Other than that, it was perfect as a base to explore and has generous amenities and was clean.

We had a great stay. Friendly greeting upon arrival to find out which room we were in. Room was clean and spacious. Rooms have been updated some In recent years. Nice kitchen & outdoor seating/BBQ. Very quiet area with beautiful views of the mountains. Netflix & Hulu were free along with free wifi which was great.

I’ve read some other comments about this being an older property. Honestly, any motel is going to be older. I found this motel to be in very good condition overall. My room was very clean and very comfortable. It was fully stocked with all of the typical hotel items. The kitchen was stocked with most anything you would need, though I only stayed one night and did not cook. The back yard was full of several small decks, grills, and other items that would allow you to enjoy a summer evening outside. I’ve stayed in a handful of motels as I’ve hiked in the Adirondacks and Catskills regions and this was the cleanest, most comfortable, and best maintained. I would definitely stay here again if I am back in the area doing more hiking.

Beautiful motel!! Very clean and quiet! We definetely go again! The ski resort so close, only a few minutes drive! I will recommend for my friends! We loved it!

The property is in poor repair and is in serious need of an update. When we arrived the towels were on the floor and when we called about getting clean towels we were told we’d have to wait until the following day.

Check-in was easy enough but not secure. Room had some decorative upgrades but need more. No phone in room, no clock/alarm clock, trash bins in bathroom and kitchen only. Rug was stained and not clean in one area of the room, a false eyelash was on the bath towel, a pubic was on the toilet seat, and both beds had indentations where someone previously sat or put their luggage on them. Were the sheets clean? No clue. Wi-Fi may have been available, but I don’t know where the password was, therefore unable to call, text or communicate through my phone. I had no internet access and no phone in the room, which meant I had no way of communicating with anyone should there be an emergency. The motel is still following Covid guidelines, which also meant guests were to have no contact with/enter the office. Unsafe. During the night, there was an enormous boom that sounded like a blast, bomb, cannon or explosion. The motel shook. Very scary, considering no ability to communicate with anyone in case of an emergency. Whoever rated this motel a ‘10’~ sorry, it’s not a 10. I know it’s the mountains… Catskills… but if that’s the best they’ve got, then I’d say it’s quite rustic. If renovations and upgrades were done, it’d be a much better place to stay. I hope they do:)

The rooms are immaculate and well furnished. The owner, Michelle, is very gracious and helpful. We have stayed there many times and she has always gone out of her way to make sure that everything is just right. As she describes it, it is our "home away from home". It is very close to Pine Hill Lake and other nice features.

Outdated, but I could see they had tried to their best to look like a new and clean property with tight budget. It smelled something mold. It could be from old carpet? I wanted to rate 3 stars, but I gave 4 because it’s an excellent location for ski resort and the kitchen area inside room.

When booking at the Starlite, expectations MUST be managed. This booking is in the Catskills, got it. Each area/region has a specific aesthetic. However, basic standards of good business practices SHOULD BE CONSISTENT wherever the booking. Basic things like functionally of the “amenities”, cleanliness of the space SHOULD BE a given! And, considering the price I was charged for this booking, these accommodations ABSOLUTELY missed the mark! Burn marks on the cheap carpet, missing and broken tiles in the bathroom, old/out dated furnishings that are too worn to be properly cleaned, spotty/unreliable WiFi in a region where you’ll probably have no other signal/connectivity access…. Look, if the price was commensurate with the experience, I would have no comments. However, you can’t charge Hyatt Regency prices and deliver an experience comparable to lodgings that charge BY THE HOUR and usually host shady behavior! I was depending on that 9.2 rating to be the case, as a woman traveling solo for work. This place was an absolute disappointment. I truly wish I could post screenshots. Book at your own risk!!

The room was smelly and there were stains on the carpet. We were only given one set of towels even though we stayed two nights and the maid did not clean the room after the first night. The bathroom has no extractor fan and the only way to ventilate is open the window but this allows people outside the bathroom to look in. There was no staff to contact or speak to on a second night to ask about extra towels or toilet paper. Overall a very disappointing stay.

Convenient to go skiing at Belleayre Mt. Otherwise motel is no frills, dated, worn carpeting, parking lot full of potholes.

located in a "cell coverage dead zone", hence WIFI is a must. However, the WIFI operated poorly. we had requirement to contact a vet hospital regarding our pet at home. very difficult to do. had to go to Diner for better WIFI.

It was perfect for our 2 night stay and near the Full Moon resort where we were going for a wedding celebration. The room was clean, bed comfortable, and everything worked. We didn’t use the kitchen - it was small but complete. The room has an air conditioner and heating. WiFi was good and the television worked well. Also the price was very reasonable.

I was a bit nervous staying at a motel, but the Starlite exceeded expectations. Large rooms, very clean, comfortable beds with lots of pillows and well equipped kitchen. And only a six minute drive from Bellearye Mountain. Easy late check-in was a plus.

Was greeted promptly! Our room wasn’t ready yet because of some issues they were having…they offered to upgrade us but we chose to wait for our cottage room! They were very accommodating to have us relax why we waited! The cottage was so relaxing and quiet! Sat on the porch and listened to the rain fall! Very cozy location!
