Casa Marina Hotel & Restaurant - Jacksonville Beach

This hotel is RIGHT on the beach. The continental breakfast was superb- hot foods, juices, fruitcup freshly sliced, bagels, muffins. We had signed up for a room with a sleeper sofa. The sofa wasn't a sleeper. They quickly brought in a rollaway that my son said was VERY comfortable. The hotel was celebrating their 100th anniversary when we were there, and their was a wedding as well, which made it a little loud. The parking can be tricky- the lot is across the street, and is sometimes full. All in all, we had a great stay.

There is no onsite parking. When checking in we were told that we have to fine a spot across the street in the strip mall. This was a Sunday and everyone was at the beach. It took us 3 hours to find a parking. Then was told there was wedding and that it should be over by 11. We were given the room right where the music was set up. It’s so loud we can not hear the tv. This should have been told to us before coming. Will ever stay here again

The 100 yr old hotel was neat. The walls are thin so sadly we did not sleep well a few nights due to our neighbors. Rooftop bar served delicious food and drinks. Vibe was fun, talented live music and an amazing view of the ocean.

A gem. The penthouse bar should be on the must do list in Jacksonville.

Let me just say that i had tried for over a year to stay at this hotel,it was always booked. I booked this stay 3 months ago. I was there in town for medical reasons, i was unaware that this hotel has no/zero parking spaces for their guests, except for a strip mall across the street. I was there during tropical storm conditions. There was also no noise restrictions as the party went all night. Window in the shower is frosted however you can definitely see your neighbors in the shower. Water was draining slowly, removed the bathtub drain and it was full of hair. I also was given 1 washcloth and 1 towel for 3 nights. And the only working outlets were at the bathroom sink and the TV. Do not recommend. Very disappointed.

Older hotel but right on the beach. Nice vintage feeling. Parking is across the street so not the easiest. There is a company on the beach that rents chairs and umbrellas. Has a roof top bar which is nice but keep in mind the hotel is only two stories high. I would stay there again.

1. The hotel has NO parking what so ever. You must fight for very limited and taken free parking, as well as daily paid parking. All parking is taken all day by beach goers. 2. I had room 214. There is a stairwell to the roof top bar just outside the door. Extreme noise from the bar and band stream down the staircase until 2 AM every night except Sunday. There is a door at the top of the stairs that the bar manager refused to close. 3. Drunks engaged in a fight come stumbling down the stairs from the bar screaming at each other. 4. Staff on site at the front desk refused to do anything about the above. The owner was not on site. There is NO security on staff. I will NOT recommend this hotel to anyone until the above is corrected.

Very nice hotel, clean and well kept. An outdoor wedding reception had to move indoors and unfortunately for us the band was set up to play directly under our room. A very loud experience, good thing the band stopped and midnight and we were able to get a good nights sleep.

Very loud and no parking due to an event. Everything else was very nice, full breakfast, period furniture and decor. Walked on the beach after Breakfast.

Historic Hotel on the Beach! Easy walk to the beach. Nice 3rd floor penthouse lounge with appetisers, drinks and beach views. Good breakfast.

Location was perfect! Loved the charm. The breakfast was wonderful! Now for the not so good stuff. Need to do a much better job of cleaning. Floors were not clean. Carpeting on stairs was absolutely filthy. Sofas and chairs in rooms were very old and dirty. Water pressure in shower wasn’t strong and didn’t get very hot. Staff was wonderful and accommodating but cleanliness is super important to me and this hotel just didn’t make the cut this time.

First off this is a very old hotel which I understand, but the rooms have no character I get they are smaller rooms. Dirty floors had to wear my shoes all over the room. The bed was so uncomfortable felt like you were in a hammock. Saw a roach on top of the fridge that was in our room. I come from Florida so I get there can be roaches but this was a German cockroach which mostly means dirty. The room was overlooking the courtyard which would be fine except you can hear everything! There was a party until 9 which no big deal but then we were below the bar so you could hear them breaking down the live music and such coming down the stairs. You could hear everything! We got no sleep in this hotel at all not relaxing. I would say great for an event but not good for sleeping. Great Location easy to get to everything, but I just thought it being a historic hotel they would keep up with it more. Make the rooms nicer and charge a little more if you have to. I have stayed in many historic hotels and houses and it wasn't nearly as bad as this stay. Would not recommend! Go party there and leave!

The hotel has potential to be nice. But it's old and run down and in need of renovating. The floors in our room and the stair railing were sticky, which was gross. The stairs also were in need of a sweep/vacuum. Most of the staff were nice, except for one front desk person/perhaps manager. Being on the beach was nice and the drink prices are good. The beds were comfortable. We were told we would be able to work downstairs, but come to find out there's not many options and then were none, due to several events being held. Considering the condition and the cleanliness, we would likely not stay again.

I love the history of the Casa Marina and the rooms were very clean. I also love the view of the beach and pier from our rooms. My only dislike was on the last morning of our stay we were downstairs eating breakfast and while I was eating at the bar a roach crawled on the bar.

The worst part for me is that it smelled very musty, especially our room. It is old and although I love that it is supposed to be old and charming it does not seem to be cared for the way it could be. I loved all of the old pictures down the hallway and the roof top bar (the food and drink was good) the history is so cool and the entry way is inviting and mysterious. It is right on the beach, the staff was nice, the breakfast was excellent. But! It smelled so musty and there was a lot of dirt and dust under our bed. I probably would not stay there again, but I love the idea of it, it's just not being executed the best that it can. I'm sure it takes a lot of money to keep up a historic property like that. Room was dirty & full of bugs.. smell of mold and dust was so bad, I couldn’t even spend the night.

The Hotel is very cute. The cleanliness was everything and perfect. It gave a real "I'm at home" feel and the price was just right.

The hotel is a little dirty overall everywhere; it’s historic and needs a good deep cleaning. Bedding was adequate but overall just kinda gross. Toilets don’t flush well. It’s best quality is that it’s on the beach and situated near great dining you can walk too. The penthouse bar is also nice. I wouldn’t stay here again.

The hotel is very neat and we loved the location however there was quite a bit of damage. Also there were 3 roaches under the fridge when we first arrived. Other than that we didn't see any more bugs.

Stayed one night. All staff encounters were just wonderful. Room on the first floor was in rough shape. While the sheets were clean, various surfaces in the room were not. Several guests came in close to midnight and were talking loudly in the hallway.

My wife and I really enjoyed our stay here. Its a short walk to the beach. The property and rooms were clean. Every staff member was friendly and helpful. The only downside was the wifi. It was not strong enough. We kept getting kicked out of an online meeting. That was frustrating. Other then that it was great!

We booked this hotel for 3 nights but after the first night we left. The ac was very loud in our room they offered another 2 rooms the next morning, but the beds weren't comfortable and one had an awful view of the roof and acs. . So we went next door.

This is a hard review to write. There is so much that I loved about this hotel. It's a historic hotel shaped like a U with a courtyard--turning 100 next year--with really cool photos of historic Jacksonville Beach on the walls, spacious suites, and a really nice breakfast (fresh fruit, awesome coffee, eggs, bagels). It's right on the beach, and there are a number of restaurants within walking distance (Jekyll Island Brewing was great). Here's the bad part--there is a nightclub in the same historic building that is not under the same ownership as the hotel. We checked in on a Friday and saw that there was a wedding going on (cool, cool). Our room was right under the nightclub and dancefloor. It sounded like the music was right in our room and a herd of elephants was dancing above us (historic construction). At 11:15, I called the front desk. The woman was kind and not surprised. She said that the music wouldn't go off until 1:00. I asked if this was every night because I was running a marathon Sunday morning and had to sleep the next night. She said that Fridays and Saturdays went until 1:00. Fortunately, they had another room in the other wing to move us to. Using a sleep app in the other wing, I could sleep. But it was loud. I don't know how anyone in the other wing could sleep. I've travelled all over the world and never had that much noise in my room. The hotel needs to not rent those rooms in that wing on Fridays and Saturdays.

Morgan and Kailie at the front desk were very helpfu,l accommodating and pleasant. We had to change rooms on the 2nd floor because the penthouse on the third floor was very loud.

I did not realize this was a party hotel. The first night we got there, a fashion show was going on with really loud music and people partying. The second night was a bar mitzvah-again loud music. We stayed on the second floor on the other end of the hotel so the noise was not too bad. I would not stay there again or in the area. The hotel is next to beach parking and again there was lots of noise at night. Engines revving and loud shouting and partying outside. The best part about it was the beach access which was great. If you want a calm relaxing weekend, do not stay in Jacksonville. Go down further do Destin beach. That is for sure what I will do next time.

Loud no installation we heard everything

We loved our view of the ocean from our room. For an older hotel it is very well kept. We will probably go back agyan stay longer

There is no parking. Receptionists never look up or greet you ever throughout the entire weekend. Rooms are musty, dirty, had used towels in the bathroom. The shampoo and conditioner dispenser was filled but the product was so old it has separated This is the loudest hotel I’ve ever stayed in. Between the dj playing music til 1am on the floor above us and the wedding dj playing music below us, the entire weekend was no sleep. Cleaning staff was yelling at each other and sitting in the laundry room area for long periods of time.

The staff were excellent. So friendly and accommodating. Location can't be beat, steps away from the beach. Take advantage of the sunrise, you won't regret it. The hotel is beautiful and historic with wonderful photos in the hallways. Only negative is the noise level on the weekends due to the rooftop bar. I wore earplugs and didn't have a problem but my room was far from the bar.

We were only there for a total of 2 nights. We had to move to three different rooms in that short time span due to hot water not working in our first room, as well as tvs not working, ceiling fans, light switches, wall outlets all out of commission in some of all three of the rooms. Got a phone call while we were out in town the first day of our visit asking us to return to the property before 3 o’clock because they moved us to the wrong room the night before and guests were set to check in the room we were in. We then were moved to a third room. While we were there we were told other guests had been charged for the wrong room and we heard a family checking in being told they had a room for 1 night , but were told they had it for 2 nights before their arrival. There was also a wedding reception taking place our first night that we were not informed about so it was loud and crowded every turn we took that night. The hotel is historic and beautiful but management is not on top of things at all and it could use a good over all heavy duty cleaning, especially the carpet and rugs thoughout the hotel. A lot of updates to furniture and amenities in general needs to be made. With all the mishaps that took place during our stay I feel as though there are probably other incidents as well.

I’m from the area and was just staying the night. When I arrived to check in there was so many people around the desk that were there for a wedding. I could hardly get to the desk. It was fine I made it. The person running the desk on the other hand had no idea I was standing in front of him. I had to smack my hand on the desk to get his attention. Over all the room was alright. A few things could have been fixed like the hot water heater door and some rust and corrosion on metal surfaces. I’m not complaining I’m just explaining what I saw.

Casa Marina Hotel is as charming as the pictures on the website. The hotel receptionist, Mary, was so kind and friendly. We got to check in early, which was great. The hotel is classic 1920s but with modernized areas throughout. Our room was beautiful! Beachy colors with neutrals and dark wood accents… it was perfect! If you get a room on the second floor you will have the most beautiful view of the ocean through the dunes. The cost per night was less than a larger hotel/resort and gave so much appreciation for architecture and Jacksonville history. And there is a continental breakfast that is free for guests. It was delightful. Everything was amazing! We will definitely be back!

Tiffany and the entire staff were amazing, we had to Evacuate from tampa , and they treated us like family. Realized that our place was flooded and couldn’t go home and they let us stay another night without any hesitation or price Gauging. Thank you again for the Hospitality.

We stayed here after our beach wedding for a few days. We love the Casa Marina, and it all started with our first date on the rooftop area…it has one of the best views of the beach and the pier. They are getting ready for the 100 year anniversary celebration. It is on the National Register of Historic Places Est. 1925. We will continue to come and stay here. Mary at the front desk is amazing!

Hotel was great! Nice view. Easy access to beach. Very reasonably priced. Check-in was awesome! Mary at front desk made it a very pleasurable experience.

I really liked this hotel and a beautiful beach is right behind it. We also enjoyed sitting on the rooftop. Staff was great and helpful too.

This quaint hotel was very convenient. The staff was super sweet and accommodating. We will definitely stay again!

Right on the beach and next to the fishing pier. It's an older structure with real vintage charm. Very nice staff too.

My brother and I stayed here for a few nights and the hotel is older but it was unique and nice. Right on the beach by the pier.

This is an historic hotel and is just charming. the staff are friendly and courteous. The penthouse restaurant/bar has a beautiful view overlooking the beach and ocean. The menu has variety and everything we ordered was excellent. We wouldn't hesitate to stay here again and again.

Awesome hotel for the money, it’s right on the beach. Lots of great dining within a walkable distance (O ku) or the French cafe a short drive. Breakfast was not great, the food buffet wasn’t cooked well, scrambled eggs over cooked, bacon burned so it could be worse. But, for the money, we will be back.

A quaint little hotel on the beach. We were told the breakfast was excellent but it wasn't, coffee had run pot one day, the eggs were dried up.not enough effort was put into the preparation..

Room was small but cute. Very quiet with 2 sinks. Breakfast was outstanding with yummy coffee. Got to sit outside and eat and hear the waves. Went to the upstairs bar and had a drink. Great view of the ocean.

A great stay with access to beach. This beach is anmazing- no seaweed, light waves, and soft sand. The rooftop bar had good food and live music inside. Great free breakfast w fresh cut fruit, Belgium waffles and fresh squeezed OJ. We will definitely stay again.

I actually love this hotel!! But for some reason there were issues in the restraunt/bar!!!! There was no server for the entire place!! The bartender had to do all the running for food orders!! I ordered a plate of blue cheese chips. It took 45 min for it to come out!!! There wasnt a lot of people eating for it to take that long!!! Also the bartender didnt know how to make my drink. He could if looked it up when my husband ordered it!!! Instead i had to come tell him how to make a mudslide!!! Suggestion for the hotel get a blender!!!
