Beautiful house in a nice location with great parking. Room was well appointed and clean. Bed was really comfortable. Breakfast was amazing. Hosts were friendly and helpful. It is a little remote so be prepared to drive on some rural roads.

It was a lovely place to stay. Peaceful. Near enough to everywhere we wanted to go. Sheila and Peter were friendly, helpful and not intrusive. We slept well. Very clean and spaceous. Nicer than the photos suggest. For some reason, at the time we booked, the hotels.com website said no sheets provided but of course there was full bedding etc. Happy to return.

The farmhouse is beautifully maintained and sits in a stunning rural location. The hosts were very helpful and accommodating and my room was both spotless and huge. Breakfast was lovely too, in the formal dining room. Would highly recommend a stay here if you are exploring the Cheviots and beyond.

Our whole experience from start to finish was outstanding. Nothing was too much trouble. Our welcome was warm, our room was very clean and comfortable, the breakfasts were delicious and we were sad to leave. But we are looking to return later in the year.

A very comfortable place to stay in the heart of the countryside. Large, beautifully furnished room, comfortable bed with great views. Hosts made us feel very welcome and happy to give advice on places to visit and eat. Excellent breakfast, freshly prepared.

The location was just fantastic. The farmhouse was on a slight hill with a fantastic view from the bedroom window which was spacious, clean and comfortable. We chose our B&B on both the location and the reviews. The location was fab but the owner did not live up to the reviews, which I can not understand, as most people said how friendly and helpful the owners were. Sheila was nice when we saw her but the male owner (didn't even introduce himself) was unfriendly and made us feel unwelcome right from the start. We arrived after 4pm and had to ring the doorbell a few times. He angrily answered the door, said he was in the back and that his wife usually 'dealt with this sort of thing' but was out. Then said 'So what do you want for breakfast then' without telling us what was available! We asked if they did a cooked breakfast, as we assumed they did. Nothing else e.g. smoked haddock etc was mentioned and we ate the same breakfast items for 7 days. We didn't mind that but the surly attitude towards us at breakfast we did mind. Many days he barely said a word to us but was pleasant to the nice couple also staying some of the days we were. On mentioning small problems he was surly and ungracious and saying other people didn't have a problem. E.g. BBC not working, asking did you press no.1 then, like we were stupid. The water went cold before we washed which made him angry. He told us off in front of the other guests because we went out and left the car without telling him!

Great place to stay. Host was very friendly and he told me about the area and where to visit. Water pressure (shower) is the best in my UK visit. Everything was super clean. Slept very well. Saw deer and peasants on the road in. Would stay here again.

Peter and Sheila run an amazing bed and breakfast. The rooms are huge, and very comfortable - with large bathrooms and fantastic water pressure in the showers. Breakfast is very friendly, sat round a big table with the other guests, and the ever attentive Peter ensuring 'everything is ok'. They have a great sense of humour, and a wide knowledge of the area - I stayed four nights, and felt really well looked after.

What a wonderful place, both Peter and Sheila make you welcome upon arrival (make sure you ring the bell to the right of the main door to get thier attention). I stayed one night in the twin tweed room over looking the gorgeous countryside to the front and sides of the property. Its a traditional house built around 1830, with high ceilings and large rooms. The decor and furniture are high standard providing a comfy and relaxed atmosphere. The ensuite is well appointed, having a strong and hot shower head to relax those aching muscles. Toiletries and gorgeous white towels await you and a fine dressing robe too. I found the bed very comfy, in fact I fell asleep in no time and woke only to my morning alarm...high praise You can select a range of items for breakfast youre hosts will ask you the night before for youre choice. I feasted on fruit/yogurt, toast and then traditional English with vine tomatoes, quality black pudding and rich poached eggs..yummy. I can highly recommend the East Horton Farmhouse

Beautifully set with lovely views . An excellent, generous breakfast. Very comfortable room with access to fresh air and a good selection of holiday reading. I regret that I was only able to stay for one night.

Excellent B& B if you are wanting a country getaway. Short stay with my Bro over the Easter weekend to go hiking in the near by cheviot hills. We stayed in the twin room which was much larger than expected and felt more like a junior suite in a luxury country house hotel. Nice welcome, owner ensured we had everything we needed and was able to recommend a local pub for us to get a bar meal that evening. Beds were very soft and comfortable, slept very well. Breakfast was excellent and cooked to perfection, served with plenty of coffee! Excellent value for the price that we paid, would highly recomend

My husband and I spend one night at East Horton during our trip up north. The drive to the farm house was amazing with stunning views. The bedroom was beautiful, large, nice shower and comfortable. Nice holsters as well.

Excellent place to stay. Wonderful staff. The only thing I would say wrong is that the mattress in the room needs changing out. It seems to be 100 years old. Also, better signs to indicate where the b&b is located, found the place hard to locate as did other guests when speaking with them.

East Horton is one of the nicest guest houses we have stayed in Peter & Sheila made us so welcome and could tell you any information about the local area The house is in a beautiful location looking out onto the Cheviot Hills. Will certainly stay here again

What a wonderful place, both Peter and Sheila make you welcome upon arrival (make sure you ring the bell to the right of the main door to get thier attention). I stayed one night in the twin tweed room over looking the gorgeous countryside to the front and sides of the property. Its a traditional house built around 1830, with high ceilings and large rooms. The decor and furniture are high standard providing a comfy and relaxed atmosphere. The ensuite is well appointed, having a strong and hot shower head to relax those aching muscles. Toiletries and gorgeous white towels await you and a fine dressing robe too. I found the bed very comfy, in fact I fell asleep in no time and woke only to my morning alarm...high praise You can select a range of items for breakfast youre hosts will ask you the night before for youre choice. I feasted on fruit/yogurt, toast and then traditional English with vine tomatoes, quality black pudding and rich poached eggs..yummy. I can highly recommend the East Horton Farmhouse

A very comfortable place to stay in the heart of the countryside. Large, beautifully furnished room, comfortable bed with great views. Hosts made us feel very welcome and happy to give advice on places to visit and eat. Excellent breakfast, freshly prepared.

The location was just fantastic. The farmhouse was on a slight hill with a fantastic view from the bedroom window which was spacious, clean and comfortable. We chose our B&B on both the location and the reviews. We arrived after 4pm and had to ring the doorbell a few times. He angrily answered the door, said he was in the back and that his wife usually 'dealt with this sort of thing' but was out. Then said 'So what do you want for breakfast then' without telling us what was available! We asked if they did a cooked breakfast, as we assumed they did. Nothing else e.g. smoked haddock etc was mentioned and we ate the same breakfast items for 7 days. We didn't mind that but the surly attitude towards us at breakfast we did mind. Many days he barely said a word to us but was pleasant to the nice couple also staying some of the days we were. On mentioning small problems he was surly and ungracious and saying other people didn't have a problem. E.g. BBC not working, asking did you press no.1 then, like we were stupid. The water went cold before we washed which made him angry. He told us off in front of the other guests because we went out and left the car without telling him!

Beautiful house in a nice location with great parking. Room was well appointed and clean. Bed was really comfortable. Breakfast was amazing. Hosts were friendly and helpful. It is a little remote so be prepared to drive on some rural roads.

East Horton is very rural with stunning views. It is on St Cuthberts Way and has easy access to the coast, A1 and Wooler. It suited us perfectly. The property was delightful, we were very comfortable and our hosts were helpful and friendly.

We had a lovely stay. The guest house is right out in beautiful countryside, no noise, no light pollution. Our room had lovely views to open countryside. Breakfast freshly cooked and is really nice. We would happily stay here again. Lovely hosts.

Peter and Sheila run an amazing bed and breakfast. The rooms are huge, and very comfortable - with large bathrooms and fantastic water pressure in the showers. Breakfast is very friendly, sat round a big table with the other guests, and the ever attentive Peter ensuring 'everything is ok'. Excellent B& B if you are wanting a country getaway. Short stay with my Bro over the Easter weekend to go hiking in the near by cheviot hills. We stayed in the twin room which was much larger than expected and felt more like a junior suite in a luxury country house hotel. Nice welcome, owner ensured we had everything we needed and was able to recommend a local pub for us to get a bar meal that evening. Beds were very soft and comfortable, slept very well. Breakfast was excellent and cooked to perfection, served with plenty of coffee! Excellent value for the price that we paid, would highly recomend

Big country house in which all three b&b rooms have a view to the front, which is lovely. The rooms are clean, bright and country-style comfortable; mine had a large bed, good quality bedding and an adjoining bathroom with decent shower/hot water, but complimentary shower products in sachets are always a bugbear of mine - usually too difficult to open if you haven’t brought scissors. I gave up. Luckily there were also some mini bottles of stuff. So from a comfort point of view, the room was good. What was strange - and I wasn’t sure whether to include this but it did really jar with me - was the welcome. It maybe feels unfair to judge a b&b on the friendliness of the hosts because staff being professionally detached can seem pretty normal for a hotel. But here, where you need to interact directly with them, it was immediately odd. Zero interest in you as a guest, no pleasantries at all when you arrive, rather you are shown up to your room and immediately ‘processed’. I was a bit taken aback. The hosts asks open questions, eg “What time would you like breakfast?” and when you say 9am would be great, replies that you can’t have breakfast at 9, as they only serve between 8 and 8:45. Same for “What would you like for breakfast?” I asked for a cheese omelette and was met with a long cool stare followed by: “I’ll have to see if I can manage that”. In summary, perfectly good accommodation, but don’t expect a warm welcome.
