Phuket Old Town Hostel

We really liked the location of this hostel. Very short distance to the busy touristic streets, but still quiet. Sound is a problem in this old house, and the notice in the room telling us to walk carefully was a bit stressful as we traveled with two young children. Not so easy to get then to «walk softly» to not bother other guests… Room Was clean and we where surprised to experience our room getting cleaned when we only stayed two nights. Thank you!

Room not allowed open window. Thanks God, Air condition is working properly with is hot weather. Market, message, restaurant are planty of choices and close by. Staff helps us to save money by recommending to use Bolt instead of Grab.

The staff seemed nice to begin with. We were 4 of us staying in a room. My friends left early in the morning and I checked out later. The lady at the reception goes to the room to have a check and comes back claiming a hand towel is missing. This was a very cheap towel and we do not have the need to steal it. Could get a nice clean towel for a low cost, but she claimed I have to give her 300 baht as compensation for the missing towel. She showed a video dated 20.01.2026 that the room had 5 towels, but we checked in on 21.01.2026 so that argument goes out the window. I had a discussion with her and suggested that I’d buy her a new towel of the same size and color and guess how much it cost me to buy it? 40baht! Why would anyone bother to steal an old and used towel when you could buy one for a decent price??! She knew that my friends’ bags couldn’t very well be checked so it was easy to claim a missing towel. I called my friends and they checked their bags and there was no towel. I’ve read such things happening in stays in Thailand- it’s a shame because Thailand is a beautiful country but things like these just make the experience a bit garbage.

Super central location and very helpful staff! Located right in the old town centre with easy walking access to cafes, restaurants and bars close by. The room was great, private bathroom was bright and AC was very good. The receptionist was kind and helpful, even accepting a parcel delivery for us!
