The Lensbury Resort

Loved our second stay here. Spa was wonderful and pool was nice although a little busy due to it being half term. Reception staff were really polite, friendly and welcoming. Can't wait to return.

Very comfortable stay at the Lensbury in a classic twin room. Comfortable bed, walkin shower, good air conditioning. Excellent breakfast with an amazing amount of choice. Only slight problem was parking was a challenge as the leisure centre/spa is rather busy with non resident members

Hotel in a great location, perfect to explore Teddington, Richmond, and Hampton Court. Staff very pleasant and helpful. Breakfast good and very relaxed. Rooms are somewhat dated and would benefit for a refresh. The pool is the nice, the gym large but lots of kit means it feels icramped and equipment is dated, especially free weights. However, for a hotel gym it’s very adequate. Would stay again for sure.

Super convenient for Teddington, River walks and the station. Excellent faculties and grounds which is exceptional in London. And having access to the gym is brilliant.

Easy to find, plenty of parking. Large hotel with plenty of facilities Inc accommodation, dining, leisure and conference located on the bank of the Thames River at Teddington lock. Hampton Court Palace and other destinations a short drive away.

Great pool and gym in the next door leisure centre. Nice ambience in the conservatory looking out over the Thames. Staff all lovely.

The hotel itself is lovely. By booking with a third party, you are put at in a separate detached building. Not as nice of a building, but rooms were nice. Service at check in was very nice. Air in rooms was very updated, Security in general was good, but our building had the back locks broken, so anyone could enter off the street. Also the gate to enter parking was broken so anyone could also enter there.

Spa facilities were good but a bit small such as the mixed sauna and steam rooms. Parking was good to have without any fuss. Restaurants around area were nice. Resort grounds beautiful. Rooms were a bit dated but very clean. Staff all polite and helpful!

The hotel itself and grounds are absolutely stunning, however the rooms are another story!! The rooms do not seem to have been updated since the 1980's, grim carpets, black mould and cracked flooring in the bathroom, shower head full of limescale so the water sprays everywhere. I DO NOT recommend anyone to spend a single penny to stay here!!

Room for 4 adults was indeed spacious with correct amount of towels. Surprised to only see 2 packets of biscuits of which 1 was just crumbs( we didn’t even bother to open the packet) Lots of tea/ coffee to choose from . Not sure if empty or full but a can of sprite was left under the bedside cupboard!!!! Says something about how well the room was cleaned/checked. Everything else was clean .

Hotel is nice from exterior with free parking, stayed in a standard double room which cost £207 for 1 night and this was with a discount. Room was very small- especially the bathroom. Very basic amenities in the room/bathroom. Bed sheets had holes in. Cleanliness level was good from what I saw, included use of the pool/sauna/steam room. However I do not feel the room was worth the price we paid at all. I would say it’s more £150-160 per night instead of the £200+ we paid. They do have larger rooms for an additional fee which would be better but I do thing the entry level rooms need re-pricing. Would have been improved with more toiletries included in the room, the showers need upgrading as I’m 5ft4 and slim and it was a squeeze. As well as bed sheets replacing due to holes. Surrounding area is nice with lots of restaurants/pubs/green spaces.

Unfortunately, there was no apology or communication about the delay, which felt impersonal. That said, the outdoor seating area where we waited was lovely, and the overall dining experience was excellent. The evening dinner menu offered a great selection, and the breakfast buffet was varied and enjoyable. All dining staff were polite and friendly, contributing positively to our stay. We stayed in a part of the hotel that is detached from the main building. This section felt a bit dated and could benefit from some refurbishment. The room itself was basic but adequate. However, the bathroom cleanliness was below expectations—there was even a used bar of soap left in the corner. On a more positive note, the leisure facilities were impressive. The sauna and steam room were very good, the changing rooms were spacious and clean, and the gym was excellent. Overall, while there are clear strengths in dining and wellness amenities, some aspects of the accommodation and guest service could be improved to enhance the overall guest experience.

I found the property to be very tired. Staff at breakfast were not attentive and we were not encouraged to have any made to order items - in fact we were told breakfast was all buffet. On the 3rd day we noticed the sign saying there were made to order breakfast items, but when enquiring, we were told to ask one of the waiters. Not one waiter approached us. My room was in the Ascot building, my room was very tired. The air conditioning unit was filthy, such that I was afraid to use it. There was a large dangling cobweb above the bed. Overall the ascot building felt like a poor relation to the main hotel building. Options for lunch were poor, which meant that we didn't eat in the hotel for lunch or dinner.

I have stayed at The Lensbury for many years and always really enjoyed the location, surroundings and general vice around this lovely hotel. Easy free parking and good breakfast, however, room on the 1st floor was a little tired with a tiny TV and old bed. A wheel was missing and hole in the carpet, when I reported this to reception they quickly gave me a different room on the 3rd floor which was better but still in need of decorating and updating. Hotel bar and restaurant are always well presented and staff were excellent. Hotel grounds are exceptional with lovely views of the Thames. Prices have increased a lot this year but rooms are dated, so slightly unjustified increases for no additional benefit, so maybe that needs to be addressed.

The shower backed up and there was mold all over the bathroom. The bath mat had rust on it and the shower was a cubicle, that I’ve seen on sale for £99 and it’s not hardy enough for hotel use. I’m sure there will be some nice rooms, but they’re generally looking dated and worn.

Our room was comfortable and clean but there was a bad smell of fried food in there, which wasn’t pleasant.

Fantastic grounds right on the thames. Polite and helpful staff. Rooms could do with a bit of modernisation but clean and fine. Air con not the best.

the hotel is in a fabulous location but is showing signs of age. Many of the seats in the restaurant and bar area are worn and scruffy and the first room we were allocated was very scruffy with the bed base tatty and torn. The second room was much nicer in the Ascot building which is clearly newer but not linked to the main building so in wet weather you would get wet going to the restaurant.

Property is very good and staff polite and reasonably attentive. Parking was good and location perfect for Twickenham Stadium visit but our room was very disappointing. Was for disabled guests but tired and outdated and as able bodied meant toilet too high and sink too low. Only 1 towel for 2 guests and poor tea/coffee facilities and 1 biscuit. No fridge or ice and no room service. No bath and dated shower. Bar food dry and unappealing. We left it. Think we just got the worst of everything. Shame

Very noisy at night in the Ascot wing carts and supplies being rolled past frequently outside.

Beautiful setting / fantastic breakfast, room was really really nice and large.

There were a few lightbulbs in the room not working. Noisy drains.

The rooms are tired need a refresh other than that a great place with good facilities

From booking to checking out, it was all fab. After booking i rang the hotel as i Jane disabled son in a wheelchair and need a safe slabs on the floor for him. They provided their largest family room and provided extra pillows and duvets for the floor. On arrival they helped take up out luggage. My son also suffers from epilepsy so after explaining this when we arrived for dinner, they say us further away in a quiet area.adam who i think was head chef was very friendly and helpful and also arranged a birthday treat for my partner. There was sn incident that evening but the staff dealt with it efficiently. The grinds were great. It was a trip down memory lane for me, as i used to spend our Saturdays there after our dad's had played football Thank you Lensbury!

I chose this Hotel due to the location for a visit to Hampton Court Palace. It was only a short drive to the Palace and Richmond, great local pubs ! Couldn’t fault the Hotel, fantastic breakfasts, fabulous gardens and friendly staff. Room was comfortable and clean and Bathroom well stocked with toiletries etc. We would definitely visit here again.

The room itself was fine and the gym facilities ok. Customer service overall was not great and thre breakfast was average.

Large hotel in a great location. Very dated and basic, but clean. The first room I was given was in a sperate building. I dragged my bags through the hotel and accross the carpark only to find someone was already in my room. I called reception in the hope that someone would bring me a key to an empty room. Noone answered, so I went back to reception. No apology offered butbibwas gi

Nice large restaurant. Reception - I stood there waiting for 25 mins with no acknowledgement from the receptionist or I assume the manager, while they dealt with another customers incorrect room booking. After 25 mins the manager then told the receptionist, that he would deal with it, freeing her up to assist me. By this time of course there was queue of people trying to check in. Very poor first impression and not even an apology for keeping me waiting.

After a very long wait in reception trying to check in (one member of staff and lots of customers) we were allocated a room on the ground floor of the Ascot building. As we entered the room we were very shocked to find another couple inside - thankfully they had only just arrived otherwise it could have been a tad embarrassing and isn't very secure. Back to reception to a smaller queue to be reallocated. We were here for two nights and upon our return on the second night we had been 'locked out' of our room as the keys had been deactivated. Back to reception for new keys and as we entered the lights all turned off and we couldn't get them back on. A call to reception was met with a very sarcastic staff member who tried to infer we had the key in the slot the wrong way round. Neither of the two keys would turn the lights on, whichever way they were slotted in. He eventually came and accepted it was faulty and moved us to a new room. Unfortunately the new room had the windows closed and it was stifling hot and the aircon was poor. At check out I was asked to pay, despite being a prepaid rate booked via Expedia. I had to email the receipt before he would let us leave. He still insisted that they hadn't received the money, it was rather embarrassing. The amount was paid upon booking and debited from my card within 24 hours. I don't expect to haggle on the charge as we try to leave. Asked for a manager to call me about the issues. Nothing.

Spacious hotel in convenient west London riverside location.

I chose this Hotel due to the location for a visit to Hampton Court Palace. It was only a short drive to the Palace and Richmond, great local pubs ! Couldn’t fault the Hotel, fantastic breakfasts, fabulous gardens and friendly staff. Room was comfortable and clean and Bathroom well stocked with toiletries etc. We would definitely visit here again.

We stayed at The Lensbury before heading into central London. It was a beautiful, quiet resort. The grounds were like a fairytale. It is a fabulous location for visits to Richmond and bushy park. I felt very safe in the area with lots of dining and shopping places within walking distance. Breakfast was delicious. I would absolutely stay again.

Picked this hotel for it amenities and it’s location on the river Thames, for a 24 hour stop over, thoroughly enjoyed my stay.

Lovely bedroom with stylish interior, good cooked breakfast, slightly dated communal areas. Staff all pleasant and helpful. Would happily return/book again.

Checking in and out was lovely and smooth. we booked for 3 nights. Grounds and facilities was good. The room was lovely we did find the pillows and bed a little uncomfortable, could have done with a couple more pillows. Breakfast was good wide variety. Evening meal not so good the only meal we enjoyed was fish & chips, would have love to have had Sunday roast but unfortunately missed as was not aware only till a certain time. Would like to suggest using a stronger product to wash utensils and plates as they had a raw smell. All the staff were lovely and very professional made us feel very welcome. On the whole we wound stay at the Lensbury again.

If you want to sweat it in a dump - a/c didn’t work - and sit on cracked pleather chairs on stained carpets and engage with the oddest bunch of hotel staff ( I love eccentric) but these staff took it to a new level. The breakfast was meh at best - the coffee was terrible. The hotel property is located along the Thames and there are beautiful trees for shade and benches from which you can look at the locks. The property is very conveniently located - easily walkable to Teddington High street restaurants and shops and to the foot bridge over the locks. It’s possible to walk to Bushy Park and Ham House, and easily accessible via bus to Richmond Riverfront and to Hampton Court.

The hotel is impressive and the rooms comfortable. Location is great and near the river with some nice views. Facilities such as the gym are very good. Dinner was not so great as service was very slow, and the food was expensive for what it was. Slow service was likely due to seating me in an area near the bar not often used for food (no cutlery etc) as they have a no laptop policy in the main dining area. Not great if you want to eat and catch up on work.

The hotel and amenities including fitness center, pool, and kids playground were awesome, including its close location to the river Thames. The service in the main restaurant however, was appealing. We dined multiple times and had to wait 15-20 minutes between waiters coming by. Fresh water was not offered, it took over 45 minutes for a waiter to ask if we wanted the check (after the meal was cleared) overall the lack of service, nearly ruined our experience at the Lensbury.

Lovely hotel great room, fantastic location close to the river. The only disappointment was the food at dinner very underwhelming menu. My baked potato was not hot enough and presented poorly with cream sauce dumped over it and only half a potato hmmmm, my wife had fish which was battered but still with skin on and she had a desert of pineapple with sorbet (coconut). We both tried it the pineapple rings we deep fried with what the same oil used for onion rings and the sorbet had no taste of coconut whatsoever. As said fabulous hotel but eat out in my honest opinion.

A great stay, had a wonderful time. Perfect location and grounds. Very good breakfast and food. Would revisit.

Stayed for 3 nights B&B whilst attending Hampton court garden festival July 2024. Dinner was poorly cooked burnt played safe with burger and chips which arrived after a long wait when dining room was not full and burnt Burger and chips to served to us both! So we chose to dine else where and the local options were quite a long walk way from hotel unless you wanted to dine in a pub down the road which was quite rowdy for us. Not impressed with the delux room didn’t have nice view and overlooked the back roof was very dark too. Delux room booked as a treat but found problems which I reported like broken mini fridge and towel rail didn’t work, dirty and shabby bath towels, one towel with blood /makeup on! Eventually towel rail and fridge were repaired by the last day following further complaints by us at reception which I did receive apology for but too little too late. Breakfast was a shambles every morning despite the different times we tried each day with many guests including us chasing staff to replenish breakfast food even bread, coffee cups, milk for cereals, fresh prepared fruit and cutlery for tables. The hotel isn’t organised in the dining & breakfast rooms, staff try but very junior. Parking limited busy days like Hampton court show but managed to park at hotel but late arrivals didn’t! Very disappointing, we travel often, not good value £650 3 nights room’s tired need make over, has potential! Wake up management , get organised please. holidays are precious

Lovely rooms, in the best setting, great service and the best breakfast.

Needs some attention. Beautiful downstairs but bedrooms are scruffy and not as described. New mattresses and pillows required. Food...a bit to be desired. Expected a great restaurant but was very disappointed...basic food..not particularly tasty. Id find a good restaurant in town!
