Sunborn London Yacht Hotel

The bars were shut at 11pm at night. Breakfast is very busy, a good selection of food. A good spot for the Excel centre and cable car.

Most areas of the boat are inaccessible. e.g. Restricted access to top deck. Lots of roped off areas. Confined to the rear of a single deck most of the time. The staff are friendly, but could not provide a coffee on the back deck before 11am - poor service.

Only issue was accessing lift to and from reception. 1 lift out of service and only way of exiting hotel was by lift which was very busy at times.

Lovely hotel just needs a pool and spa

Disabled parking was really close, so easy to get to, litreally right outside the boat, The staff are very friendly, the rooms are a great size, i do think the bathroom could be slightly bigger, security is good you have to use a card for entry cant just walk in, breakfast was ok with a nice view

Was a bit more special staying on a Yacht than a normal hotel - was lovely sitting on the rear decks watching what goes on in and around Victoria dock.

A fantastic hotel and a great location. I was visiting the Excel for business and it is a short walk away. I was surprised that the hotel closes the bar at 11pm and even residents are not served after 11pm. I was with businees guests and it was embarrassing.

Felt a special place to stay - great breakfast, can have on deck if weather permits - as per my photo. We will be back.

The property itself is lovely we had a lovely stay apart from the fact that the parking cost £25 at Novetel for the night and my car got damage going into the car park, the car park is extremely small and hard to get in and out, this is the one that was recommended by the hotel avoid this car park.

The only downside to this hotel for us was the lack of carparking. We had to use the excel arena carpark at £25 per 24hrs. It’s nearby but access isn’t great as excel was closed to the public and security staff made people walk around the outside of the arena through the loading areas to retrieve cars. Not safe. Sunborn should make a better arrangement for vehicles, better price, easier access etc.

Nice idea, but run down and over priced. Room was tired and dated. Bathroom not very clean.

Room was excellent very clean and very comfy bed, although a little chilly. Hotel is clean very nicely fitted out, staff very helpful and breakfast was great, good range, fresh and hot.

We had a fabulous overnight stay to celebrate my husband's birthday. The room was spotless, food delicious, and the staff were so welcoming and helpful throughout our stay

Wanted to stay since we had a drink in the bar afew years ago. We were staying at a different hotel that over looked it Reception was stunning with lovely staircase to early to check-in so we went in the bar for a coffee. Very disappointed with the worn carpets and furniture very tired and that was where we were having breakfast as dinning room was closed very cramped. Definitely a wow factor with room it was very spacious with porthole and lovely wood furnishings. Staff on Reception very helpful.

This is a great place to stay that is ideally located for the Excel centre, BUT there are a few cleanliness and maintanence issues that are overlooked by them

The cabin was dusty, broken coffee machine. No extractor fan in bathroom. Air con on all night couldnt switch it off. No reservation for dinner when we arrived but was booked via reception on checking in. The outside bar area was nice with a good view but to the Right it overlooked an Ibis/novotel. Felt uneasy in the area & uncomfortable walking around. Breakfast was slap dash not refilled, scramblef eggs like water.Not a 4 star hotel, maybe a 3 star in my opinion. Will not be returning or recommending unfortunately. The area was a total let down. I couldn't wait to return home.

Very quite location. Room spotless, but slight drain smell in the bathroom. Good selection of food at breakfast. Room a little claustrophobic, much better to have a room with balcony.

The bed wasn’t that comfortable and the room not properly cleaned. Dusts and cobwebs on some areas in the room. Breakfast and bar was excellent and the area pretty good.

Clean beautiful river view room. Staff were amazing, food delicious, location perfect.

Very friendly, helpful staff. Comfortable bed, very good breakfast but room was uninhabitable - far too hot, aircon not working. Eventually moved to alternate room but still very warm (24c) needed fan in room to move air around. Poor night's sleep

Very convenient for the Excel centre, and interesting and quirky enough to offer an alternative to the more conventional hotels in the area. The room was big, with a separate seating area, the TV was small and in an awkward position to view from the bed, bathrooms are small and a bit dated though. The bed was very comfortable. The internet was free, but did keep disconnecting which was annoying. Breakfast was very good.

Can honestly say we really enjoyed our stay. We had an executive room river view and it was fab. Lovely big room comfy bed, tea/coffee, balcony where we sat with a cuppa overlooking the water. The staff were really friendly, breakfast was superb with a fantastic choice. Bar prices as expected in London nothing over the top. All in all we loved it and would recommend.

Common areas are lovely, rooms are great apart from the temperature. We had the fan going all night and the room got no colder. It was 27° in the room. We had to resort to opening the door, which was quite loud being on the City airport flight path

Wifi is very poor with very little mobils signal make communicatiosn and ability to work below acceptable levels for central London

Fix the WiFi pls. Has been terrible for weeks.

Overall it’s quite nice; boat looks good and breakfast is nice, and the staff are very pleasant. The room is the biggest let down: outdated design, and the bathroom is not ventilated at all, and your partner can hear everything you are doing in the bathroom. Not particularly private.

Spent one night here in August in a riverside room. The ship is lovely, titanic vibes. Our room was huge and had a balcony which was a nice surprise. The staff were friendly and polite. Great location for Excel. Breakfast was good too.

Just very dated. Horrible wood in rooms, very hot even with air con and an although private bathroom it's how I would imagine a prison bathroom to be. Not our cup of tea!

Property was absolutely lovely, nice and clean rooms with a great breakfast! However, we was checked into room 1004, in which the key card never worked, we spoke to a staff member who gave us his card. Around 20 minutes later, a couple entered our room as we had been double booked. We both had the same keycard for the same room. The other couple went up to reception, and I called them via the room phone. They said they would get back to me with a solution on how they would recompensate us for the issue. All they did was bring us two new keycards. Not great service but overall a great place to be.

Whilst the location and the room were very convenient, I encountered a very rude and unprofessional gentlemen, who was acting as a «\xa0manager\xa0» in the evening. I faced an issue with a waiter who «\xa0forgot\xa0» to return my change after I paid a bill in the Bar.. I went to speak to the person on duty and faced the most rude person I have ever encountered. He told me that I should respect the staff and that if I was thinking to post a comment online, he would remove it. No attempts were made to listen to me nor to apologise. During the entire stay, lifts were not working or only partially. WIFI is very poor in the rooms on the first deck. I will certainly not return nor recommend this place.

Pros: Staff were friendly and welcoming. Rooms are clean and well maintained though they are a bit dated. The location is fantastic, can get to all the attractions near by very easily. There is a pleasant vibe to the place among guests, I think due to the novelty of being in a boat. Cons: I'm definitely not a fan of the beds, found the mattress very uncomfortable and had a rough two nights sleep wise. Couldn't get room service - attempted to call the line specified on the phone both nights I stayed to no answer so eventually went through the pain of installing the app, I made an order and nobody actioned the request - was unable to reach front desk, bar or restaurant from room phone, either unable to connect or just constantly ringing, which was annoying. In the end decided to not be lazy and walked the 5 mins to a store nearby. Impressions are overall positive despite the beds and room service. Very good staff, just wish they'd answer the phone! 🙂

Property was fine, just the staff (manager in particular) that’s unnecessarily power mad. Wouldn’t let guests check in prior to 3pm even though we were informed rooms were ready. Coffee machine is powdered too, and no option of espresso (real coffee) at breakfast.

Welcome was good no waiting greeted friendly and professionally by Lucas who was efficient and helpful. The team was generally helpful. Room clean/tidy. View was good and balcony added a bit extra to my stay. Highly recommend. Only issue is key card kept not working and had to be reset at front desk 3 times. Otherwise a fantastic stay. Thank you.

From check in to check out, the staff were excellent, friendly, helpful and very professional. Nothing was too much bother, it was all in a days work.

We were upgraded by a very nice gentleman to a junior suite, our original booked room had problems with the air conditioning being too hot. The dinner was superb with tender beef and the breakfast also very good. The only problem we encountered was my partner had lost his expensive sunglasses. We returned to reception after checking out and they allowed us to look back in the 2nd room, no luck and no one had handed them in. After looking at the photos we took the previous night, we realised they must have been left in our original room 1030. The lady on reception would not let us go back in to look, she said the room had already been cleaned and occupied. We left disappointed, and then my partner went back to look, it was my birthday yesterday and this had ruined our experience. She managed to ask the cleaner, who could not speak English but luckily an extremely lovely chap walked past called Soefam Da Silva in maintenance, he said he had seen the sunglasses on a table in the room. The head cleaner came along, she still would not give admittance until reception approved. So my partner had to return for the 4th time to reception and luckily the original receptionist was on her break, and a nicer chap phoned the cleaners who then went in the room and returned with the sunglasses. So very annoying the original receptionist did not bother to see things through and check with the cleaners for our access. If it was not for the maintenance chap, we would have lost them.

Everything is up to the standard for what u paid, the hotel staff and manager Alex K. provided very dedicated service, kudos to him and his team

We can’t fault the Sunborne hotel. Fantastic customer service, beautiful hotel, yummy breakfast and great bar. We had such a lovely weekend and will definitely be back. If you need a hotel near the Excel or O2 then this is a brilliant option with the tube and cable car only a short walk away.

Our stay at the Sunborn Hotel in London was nothing short of spectacular! From start to finish, everything was perfect. The food was absolutely amazing, and the service was brilliant—every member of staff made us feel truly cared for. We stayed here to celebrate our anniversary, and the hotel went above and beyond to make it unforgettable. Walking into our room, we were surprised with a heart-shaped balloon, a sweet postcard, and delicious chocolates. It was such a thoughtful gesture that made us feel so special. The entire experience is one I will never forget, and I cannot recommend the Sunborn Hotel highly enough. If you want a magical stay in London, this is the place to be!

An amazing place to stay, conveniently located to DLR and Elizabeth Line. Helpful and friendly staff and comfortable room. Coffee machine in room and nice sized breakfast room. Table service in bar and excellent outside area at rear of boat if it’s warm enough outside with view of Canart Wharf. Excellent stay and will definitely stay there again.

The location is great if you are going to the O2 and only a short walk to the cable car that takes you there. A lovely place to stay for a night.

stayed for ComicCon, hotel is located directly next to it. Very comfy and spacious room, innovative concept to be staying on a yacht (don’t worry, it doesn’t move). Probably a bit far from the city centre, but for my purpose it was perfect.

A very different type of hotel. Very comfortable and roomy. We had a great stay and staff were very friendly and helpful. Sitting on deck in the sun was lovely. One small criticism would be when we wanted a night cap at around 11.30pm after a night out. They would only sell a bottle of wine ( around £36 +) or bottles of beer. It was disappointing that we couldn’t get spirits or smaller quantities of wine! Apart from that we would thoroughly recommend The Sunbourn.

The yacht/hotel is now looking dated. It is not a patch on its sister in Gibraltar Breakfast is a total bun fight with the whole ship expected to queue for their food situated on a small serving area with staff trying to get thru them to the kitchen and people trying to eat their food with people stood next ton them queuing. It’s dreadful

The choice of breakfast was very good, from fruit, cereal, cold meats, danish pastries and full English with toast also on over. All self service. Restaurant with nice view towards Canary Wharf. Bar has a nice atmosphere with seating outside of the weather is nice to enjoy the very. Not overly pricey and staff very efficient.

Had a wonderful night and wife was very happy as it was her birthday. Room was clean and beautiful. Their breakfast was perfect but their restaurant did not have enough on their menu for dinner and was a bit disappointed

Lovely staff, Hotel is lovely a bit older but very clean, and shines lovely,dinner at night fantastic , the breakfast was very disappointing, like a canteen, cold, coffee was cold having to wait so long to get food, Trying to get a drink from the bar they offer to bring it over and then charge you £2 service fee..

A lovely looking property but a very average feeling. The rooms are pleasant but not high class, with the bathrooms needing modernising. The checkin was slow, bar service even slower. Breakfast was poor - a self service buffet of lukewarm and quite dry items of pretty cheap quality. Coffee was from a machine and atrociously bad

A great place to stay - fantastically presented and great location. Just need to up the game on GF for breakfast - lazy cheffing as GF sausages and hash browns easy to do ; keep saying this over years but they do not learn However - still a great place to stay.

Smelly toilet, which housekeeping sorted that evening, however the smell returned. We think the shower was blocked as water drained away really slowly. If you’re not eating breakfast in the nice side of the restaurant, it’s like being in a School canteen, breakfast was mostly cold also!
