Hotel Harrison On The Beach

Be advise some rooms have mini fridge and some don't they were able to accommodate us after we bought perishable items. Also the wall as are very thin so you can hear everything including everyone's throwing there doors at 6 am everyone walking or speaking in the hallways! No elevators so if you have heavy luggage be prepared! Not as nice as the pictures. But it's very walkable to the beach and ocean Dr.

Our original reservation was canceled by the hotel due to renovation two days before our scheduled arrival. Hotels.com was extremely accommodating and called to help us find a new reservation. They offered us several different options over the phone and read us the description of each choice. We did not get to see photos of each choice and just had to pick one pretty quickly. We chose the one closest to our original booking and got the entire house for our overnight stay. The check in process was not explained and I had to call a number then given another number and then received a text on how to check in. There is literally a hostile right on the corner and you just go to the front desk to check in. The attendant was so nice and very helpful. He went above and beyond to get us to the house. The hostile itself is very slummy. Felt like crack heads were everywhere. Once we got into the house overall it was fine. It’s an old house, beds were not extremely comfortable but for just for an overnight stay it served its purpose. I would not pay to stay there at full price for longer than a night. Our trip was a family trip, but if you just want a party house and a place to sleep it is fine. Plenty of room, plenty of beds. Parking is very limited. Full kitchen and two bathrooms, basically two open floor plan living areas with pull out futons and several couches.

This is a rough spot. Location is excellent. You are a quick walk to the beach and to restaurants and shopping, and they’re in the process of renovating, which was nowhere on the reservation or website when we booked. We were delayed multiple times and tried to contact the hotel, but they never responded to our text messages and their phone number was disconnected. When we finally arrived the clerk graciously let us know they hadn’t given our room away (thank goodness because I paid in full in advance) and gave us our key card. We were located on the 2nd floor and there is no elevator. The upstairs is TOUGH to navigate. The stairs are narrow, not ADA compliant at all. They are barely wide enough for our checked bags to get up. Our room was one in the process of being renovated, so the WiFi was not working correctly. The TV would not stay connected and every time anyone tried to connect to their Apple TV, it went to our TV, so that was fun - no, not really. 😒 The room is spacious but has no amenities. At all. No fridge, no microwave, no ice machine, no cups, no coffee maker, nada. There is literally nothing extra. We got 1 towel. No floor mat. When we walked in the AC was leaking onto the floor, so our towel went to mopping that up. There were holes in the floor, holes in the ceiling, mold/spots on the walls, and a HUGE opening below the door. When we asked for extra towels, we used one to stuff under the door to keep out the extra friends that were crawling around outsi

Unfortunately, they were remodeling at the time so we ran into several problems, which they finally took care the last day of our stay, the night staff never solve anything, so I had to wait till the morning to talk to the managerwho was always willing to help out

We arrived at the hotel only to find out it was closed for construction, my, my husband, my three kids and my mother in law were left with no hotel to stay in. We had to walk to the nearest hotel to seek rooms for the night, having to pay double what we initially allotted for. I am very disappointed in the hotel and Hotels.com for not notifying me of the closure. Absolutely ridiculous and such an inconvenience for my family.

This was the absolute worst stay I have ever had. The only thing that looks remotely similar to the advertised photos is the courtyard. The shower looked like it hadn’t been cleaned in months. The flooring was lumpy, had spots that were sunken in, spots where there were holes rotted. Holes and stains on the linens and lampshades. The walls were obviously dirty and had paint drip marks. There was tied up garbage bags outside the rooms. On top of that, the hallways and courtyards REEK of marijuana. I knew I was picking a “cheap” stay, but I didn’t know I was picking a filthy one. On top of all of that, the obnoxious, BLARING music from Casa Matilda was insufferable. The music was so loud that our bed was shaking, windows rattling, and we could not sleep. Tried to call the “24/7” desk several times and never got an answer. Finally went downstairs around 1AM to complain in person, and the security guard told us, “It’s a club where millionaires go; they turn the music up loud and we ask them to turn it down but they turn it back up. Not much we can do; we can’t tell them how to run their business.” Okay but… the restaurant is located in the hotel? The man who said that was nice about it, but he told us that they would likely shut the music off by 2 because they close at 2. Funny how that didn’t happen. By 2:30 AM my friend and I were so tired and upset about the noise that we finally made a noise complaint with the police. Noise still didn’t end until 3AM. DO NOT STAY HERE!

It was convenient and close to shopping and restaurants. There was no trash can, microwave or mini fridge. The stairs and floors were always wet. No parking in the property, and the closest parking is too expensive.

Do not book here! I am from Texas, booked 2 rooms here, flew to Miami with my 3 small children, husband and mother in law only to get there and the hotel was closed under construction, we did not get a notification from the hotel or hotels.com about this closure. We paid a taxi $60 to get there then had to walk with all our luggage to the nearest hotel in hopes to find available rooms, then had to pay double the costs for the rooms. DO NOT BOOK HERE! It shows availability online but the hotel is closed!

Front desk tried to give us a room that was ongoing construction,I guess you get what u pay for

Everything was very dirty.. i had only 4 days vacation and 1 day just was cleaning room and bathroom. Never come back!!

If I could give this place 0 stars, I would. The pictures you see online are FALSE ADVERTISING. This place does not look like the pictures. We arrived to a DIRTY room and had to buy our own towels and toiletries. I even had to buy sandals to wear IN THE SHOWER because the place was that dirty. At one point my husband got up in the middle of the night and when he turned on the bathroom light there were COCKROACHES on our side tables! Disgusting!!! Please do not stay here! It is a scam and I’m so angry I got fooled by this place. HORRENDOUS! Why is this place even available? I’m sure numerous health codes were violated and my well being was put at risk! This place looked more like a cheap hostel than a reputable hotel.

So nasty. It’s concerning how unclean it was. We couldn’t even walk barefoot since there was dirt everywhere. The nightstands had crumbs, dirt, dust, and stains on them. TV in room, but no remote. The bathroom had scum everywhere. Looks like it hadn’t been cleaned in at least months. Crap stain on the bathroom floor. Shower head was completely rusted. We didn’t even feel safe using faucet water based on how everything else looked. You could also hear people on the outside working, and banging tools, people in the hallway, and even people rooms down talking in their rooms. The place is barely being held together, and feels very unsafe. When we went to go to bed, we noticed unsettling stains on the pillows and the bed sheets, so we could barely sleep with how disturbed we were. Plus, you have to either pay for parking on the street or behind the hotel. We had to spend $60 for 24hr parking. Only nice thing was that it was walking distance to many things. Worst place I’ve ever stayed in. It should honestly go on hotel nightmares.

Roaches in room, rooms outdated, flooors dirty Should be CLOSED DOWN INDEFINITELY

We did not stay at the hotel. After we checked in we went to the room and there were bedbugs in the room and one was even crawling on the wall. We immediately checked out and requested a refund which they said they would process but I have yet received the refund and this was processed on 10/18. The hotel was ran down and looked nothing like the photos posted. Do not stay at this hotel.

Roaches

When I arrived at hotel the lobby smelled like mildew it was dirty there are no elevators had to carry luggage two flights of stairs. When I got into the room beds were on the floor smelled like mildew the towels were stained. No comforters on bed roaches everywhere. Don’t be fooled my the picture it’s nothing like it it’s a scam almost $700 for a so called hotel that’s run down

Lovely hotel with a car park directly next door! We got a space for cheaper on spot hero than in the actual car park! Rooms are super clean and crisp looking! Shower is warm! Air con works perfectly

So when we got there, the first thing that hit us was the smell of mold. Then, walking to the front desk, you had to watch out for the floor bubbles from humidity or water damage. Check-in was fast, but walking to our room on the first floor was a disaster zone. The stairs were sketchy, and the hallway had holes. The room was filthy, the floors and bathroom hadn't been cleaned in ages. The tub looked better *after* we showered. Oh, and there was a leak from upstairs, so my suitcase kept getting dripped on. But hey, the water pressure in the shower was amazing! The room was freezing, which was kinda nice on a hot Miami day. The bedsheets seemed clean, at least. We only stayed one night, but we're definitely not going back.

If you’re considering staying here, u have to compromise. Pro: price, location, comfy bed Cons: parking is not included so end up pay for street parking which will be about 27$, pay the ticket, you will get fine, bathroom is a nightmare. Moldy wall, super light ventilation sound, moldy smell, moldy AC We are 4 people, we got 4 queen size beds which was awesome. When we entered the room, we instantly smelled moldy basement smell. AC was moldy, bathroom was a nightmare. But we were only sleeping there after long day so whatever. Location is fantastic? Just walk for 5mins and you are on the beach. You see all the comments talking about the terrible bathroom, smells and so on, so if you stay here, expect that.

The hotel is close to the beach, restaurants and entertainment. Beautiful little courtyard with palm trees and tables. Nice room, neat and we had windows facing two streets ( corner room). And you open it! Cons. There is no elevator and you have to carry your luggage up a narrow steep staircase. In the toilet one lamp did not work, and the second shone no brighter than a firefly, so you had to be there in the dark. The sink spins on its own axis and the faucet is scary to touch because it looks like it's going to fall out of the wall. No fridge, microwave and coffeemaker. But all that was just unnoticeable compared to the main problem. Music. No, MUSIC! The room is right above the bar. We arrived at 11pm and it was already playing. I have nothing against music, sometimes even loud music. But the sounds from downstairs made the floor shake. And there wasn't even an internal phone to contact the reception to ask what was going on, and I didn't want to go there at night. I didn't think they could do anything about it. When I was able to fall asleep, it was already 3 am, and the music was still blasting. In general, if you are young and fun, you might like it.

The pictures are very descriptiving. It is very old and out dated. It’s very in need of a renovation but the safe are very nice. If you’re not looking for luxury and just for a place to lay your head for the night. It’s not a bad place to stay. Very close to the beach.

At first it was nice looking property the ambience was good but when we get to our room there were so much to fix. The bathroom door is broken so you can’t close it. The bathroom window doesn’t have privacy curtain. The walls were dirty and have holes. The things I like is the location close to beach, also the TV has Netflix.

Our double queen room was small. Bathroom had broken tiles. Toilet was chipped. Electrical wires hanging out of the wall. No on site breakfast. Lobby was decent. Best part is the location. South of Fifth. Nice neighborhood. Ultra Festival weekend so prices were high and undeserved.

The toilet in the first room was out of order, so the staff helped us to switch to another. However, the new room was very damp, with water seeping from the floor, terrible smell, and a moldy air conditioner. That said, the location was great. Maybe it's not fair to expect too much at this price, but I wouldn't stay here again.

Definitely a bait and switch hotel. We are usually not picky Travelers and are OK with hotels being simple. However, this stay has been bizarre. The location is great and the outside of the hotel and the lobby look nice. However, When we checked in the receptionists Did not speak any English. I had asked for a room that was quiet and we wound up in a room that was over a restaurant that played really loud music from 10 PM to 1 AM every night. The room literally shook. The room was unbelievably dirty. There were paint splashes everywhere, stains on the ceiling, our feet stuck to the floor, The faucet in the sink fell off and the stopper was not attached, the bathtub was rusty, The toilet was rigged with A coat hanger and rubber bands.. (my husband fixed it)… There was Only one side of a towel rack, but no bar to hang your towel on… The TV worked, but we couldn’t get the volume to turn down…. it was super loud and we had to wait in our room for 40 minutes for someone to come in with a new remote. The list goes on. I always trust Hotels.com… but you might want to take them off of your hotel list… the sad part is, it could be a really cute and clean hotel but no one seems to care about having return customers.

I booked a double room and called ahead to confirm booking but on arrival was told they were over booked and only had one room left and they would issue a refund, so it was take whatever they gave me or leave at 12 am and find another room! After going to the room there was only a thin sheet on the bed, no towels only a wash cloth and a hand towel. No tv remote tv didn’t Evan power on! The security guy that checked me in was very short and snippy!!

Cleaning service was fantastic but the water cut off randomly during our stay and they rushed us to check out despite being within the window.

The owner of the property was lovely! We arrived a bit before check in and he let us have our room early. Very much appreciated since we had just been on a cruise and had lots of luggage and were tired. Quick walk to Miami Beach, many restaurants and shopping- excellent location

ABSOLUTE WORST EXPERIENCE! From Booking no on would ever answer phone at the desk. After about 20 phone calls was able to get a hold of someone the day before we left to let them know we would not be arriving till after midnight r/t our flight, they said this would be fine and we would still be able to check in no problem and they would hold our room. On arrival gate into the hotel is locked. There were no call box, they would not answer the phone so we were stuck on the street with our luggage. Ended up having to book another hotel room which took till almost 2:30 am because everything in Miami south beach had No vacancy.

I recently booked two nights at Hotel Harrison in Miami but was appalled to find recent reviews mentioning bedbugs and roaches. As someone with insectophobia, I immediately contacted management, who offered to reimburse half the cost. I stayed elsewhere, only to find that four weeks later, I have not received the promised refund or any communication from the hotel. This level of unprofessionalism is unacceptable, and I strongly advise against staying here. In addition I was not able to connect with hotels.com as there is no customer service but robot to get help. I’m very disappointed in both organizations.

Property was okay, window wouldn't shut which made the nights sleep difficult. Lots of loud music in the area. Biggest issue was the hotel gave our room to another couple on the second night we were there. Thankfully we were in the room, so thankfully we didn't have strangers walking through our room or stuff but it was very upsetting. No explanation really given for it either!

My stay was pretty terrible, and I've stayed in 4 different properties in Miami in the last 2 months alone. I asked for them to come clean my room 3 different times, they never did. They didn't even take my trash out or replace my toilet paper towels. I literally had to go down stairs to ask for a new roll of toilet paper and it was humiliating as they handed me a singular unwrapped roll. They also didn't even have an extra clean towel when I asked for one. They also opened my door and asked if I was checking out every single day, even going as far as banging on my door and coming in yelling at me that I was staying illegally and they didn't have my reservation or name booked for that room. To which I replied that they were incorrect, gave them my last name, and then never got a response or apology for that crazy treatment. Overall, this property was not worth what I paid, did not clean my room once, and was very unprofessional.

Checked in during the evening and the receptionist did not speak english well enough. I know the area but if you are visiting and do not know south beach don’t rely on the staff to guide you. They need to adjust their website: Amenities- -there is NO parking (but it says it does on the site). Park in a lot or the street somewhere for about $50. The restaurant (and/or bar) is not in the hotel, it is separate. Activities- - NONE of the ones listed are available from the hotel its self. All listed are just “available” in the area somewhere. Did not hear any info on their “social hour”…. The room was okay, some chipped wall plaster and uneven flooring. AC was good. Did NOT have the bathroom supplies like in some of the pictures online. All that was there were 2 bottles of shampoo. No soap, no conditioner.

It’s perfect location right next to Ocean Drive For the money you pay it’s very good

I was scared because of previous reviews. Hotel staff was super friendly and helpful. Room was decently cleaned. Easy walk to the beach. Chill environment. Also look for the wild Parrots that was really something to see. I would stay here again.

It was an older building, but it had everything we needed for the few days. There is an area downstairs that has a fridge with all the different cooking items you would ever need it was convenient and helped us save a little money some nights by cooking myself. I saw a menu for food and drinks that you can order from. I didn't try it, but I was tempted to get the bottomless Mimosas for 30 dollars. It was clean with no bugs. The TV was in Spanish, but we looked up how to switch the language on Google, so we were able to fix it. The staff was kind and helpful. The only issue was the language barrier, which made it hard to communicate and limited me from asking for help. That is really an issue with me, not the property itself. I'm sure I could have used a translator app. They have a nice outside area that has comfortable and varied seating. The location of the hotel is amazing 4 minutes walking to the beach. It's literally a couple blocks from Ocean Ave South Beach. Hotels in this area are very expensive, so as long as you don't mind an older building, this hotel is an amazing deal. There were many restaurants in the area to choose from and we had a few very tasty meals. We had a great stay and I would stay again in the future.

I took a girls trip with my daughter and niece ages 15yrs and 16yrs. Our flight was delayed so we checked in at 9pm instead of 4pm. When we arrived the room that was given WAS NOT THE ROOM THAT I BOOKED. It was room #1 which was a basement room. We immediately smelled mildew/ or mold inside. It had a portable air conditioner which the smell was coming from, no refrigerator, and right by the stairs. I asked for it to be changed but they were completely booked and was offered a refund. Every hotel was booked so we had to stay. I have bronchitis and my daughter has no respiratory issues but we coughed all night. The next morning after 1pm they relocated us to a ground floor room. This was the room that I initially booked. Fresh, clean, working air conditioner and refrigerator. I was offered a 20% discount upon my check out but never received it. The only room I will ever get will have to be 234 because it was what was advertised. DO NOT STAY IN RM #1 EVER. (Also no ice machine on premises or complementary breakfast)
