An amazing hotel, where I could not fault anything. The front of house staff escorting us to our room was an unexpected part of the service, and a nice touch. The room had a fantastic view of the moors covered in snow. Spacious and inviting, attention to detail offering coffee mugs as-well as tea cups. The food was inspiring with a festive twist, the choices, being reasonable priced and delicious. A fine selection of wine and beer to enjoy sat in front of an open fire. All the staff very friendly and chatty, making you feel right at home. the option of checking in and out online was hassle free and speeded up the arrival and departure process. in summary, a beautiful friendly hotel in the heart of the countryside, one which i will be returning to to experience in the spring.

This was the best dog friendly hotel we have ever stayed in. Great rooms. Lovely staff and an excellent evening meal. Quality all round.

Second visit to this lovely hotel. Staff are very friendly and clearly passionate about making your stay memorable. Room was spacious and cosy, Food was amazing and exciting, always great seeing a full restaurant. Good selection of beers and I think I counted 42 bottles of gin tantalise the taste buds. Breakfast was plentiful and relaxed. Having my dog with me, the hotel is very dog friendly and a lovely welcome pack with them in the bedroom and breakfast bowls by the tables. I can’t recommend this hotel enough, and enjoyed my repeat visit, and will be revisiting next summer.

From booking in to booking out the staff were all brilliant, friendly & helpful. Nothing was too much trouble. Very dog friendly too with a welcome pack for them. The room was lovely, very clean, quiet & cosy. Nice lounge area with open fire & big comfy sofas. The evening meal & breakfast were very good, nicely cooked & plentiful. Very handy for spotting trains or a trip into Whitby. We will definitely return.

The Inn on the Moor in Goathland is a lovely, homely inn on the edge of the village, right beside the iconic garage from Heartbeat. Our room, number 5, was large and comfortable. Very nice bathroom, comfortable bed, windows that open (a pet peeve of mine when they don't!). My only suggestion is perhaps better pillows. They were a bit flat and hard. The staff were all very friendly and helpful. The bar is a nice place to sit with a drink and the spacious dining areas were spotless and warm, even on a foggy, cold night. The food was very good - basically gastropub food. Our first night's dinner was better than the second, but both were good. Easy access to Whitby and Sandsend and a lovely drive across the Moors. Definitely recommend for a quiet and relaxing place to stay.

My little dog was welcomed with a mat, blanket, two bowls a new toy and bonios, which I thought was a lovely touch. The hotel was comfortable and the staff were nice. It is in need of some updating. Also, I would suggest, for the room I had with the fire escape immediately outside the window, some vertical blinds, which can be positioned to let light in without having the fire escape fully on show. I would stay again, perhaps in a different room.

The most dog friendly place we have been to & yet we left our dog behind - huge error! The most friendly staff, comfortable, homely surroundings, excellent breakfasts and very good cuisine generally. Super location. Just the most relaxing few days where you can do as much or as little as you want. Friendly guests too! Will definitely be going back. Thanks to everyone at the Inn on the Moor.

Wow! What can we say! Fabulous hotel with the friendliest and most polite staff we’ve ever met! Right back to good old fashion British values and a refreshing change! The room was lovely, very cosy, warm and very clean! Loved the hospitality tray! The food was absolutely amazing, very generous portions and a good price too, the lemon moose is a must try, mouthwatering! The perfect location for a weekend away! Thank you Inn On The Moore!

We had a fabulous 4 days at the Inn on the Moor. We had a beautiful refurbished room, very clean, modern, plenty of room for all clothes shoes and bits and pieces. Fab bathroom and great shower. The lounge area, conservatory, breakfast conservatory and bar area was very nicely done. Food was amazing!!!! Breakfast, well what can I say anything you want really, Cereal, fruit, full cooked, toast etc etc and all served to the table. Lunch and evening menus equally as fabulous. From check-in to check-out all the staff were so welcoming and friendly Thank you all for making our Yorkshire trip away so memorable.

The property, staff, service and cleanliness were all excellent. Nothing needed improving, it was all brilliant. The owners, Jack and Nicki and all their team, worked their socks off 24/7 to ensure we had a lovely stay.

What a lovely hotel. Beautiful location. Staff were amazing from the moment we arrived. Even showed us to our room. Our room was perfect. Comfortable and clean with lovely decor. We ate in the hotel for breakfast and in the evening and both were delicious. Excellent choice. Would definitely recommend.

A lovely little property being run by wonderful people, doing a great job. Considering the property is older, it is immaculately clean, the bathrooms are updated and all sheets and towels are new and well cared for. The breakfast was also very nice. I would definitely stay again and hope to for a longer visit next time. Thank you.

All was good, staff, food and facility etc. Fun location in a small village. We just happened to get a room still needing renovations and it was quite warm sleeping with no fan in room provided. Would not have any qualms about returning…

My little dog was welcomed with a mat, blanket, two bowls a new toy and bonios, which I thought was a lovely touch. The hotel was comfortable and the staff were nice. It is in need of some updating. Also, I would suggest, for the room I had with the fire escape immediately outside the window, some vertical blinds, which can be positioned to let light in without having the fire escape fully on show. I would stay again, perhaps in a different room.

We had an absolute amazing stay at this hotel. The staff are amazing here. So friendly. Really helpful and friendly man who works in scripps garage and at the hotel bar. The food is amazing here and very reasonably priced. It feels like such a homely hotel and has a lot of history about it relating to heartbeat days and furthermore. We stayed in room 8 really nicely decorated and great room amenities. Bathroom was really nice. We stayed for 2 nights . The only negative about the room was the mattress. It’s definitely time for a new one. Very springy did not sleep to great . Didn’t mention anything as we were only there for 2 nights and the place is amazing in itself. Everything is very walkable including the waterfalls.reception staff very helpful with tips about the local area. Will 100 percent return . We are already planning our next visit thankyou !

A really wonderful stay. We were warmly welcomed when we got there and this set the tone for the rest of the stay. Food was unbelievably good, room lovely but it was the people who run the place and restaurant/bar that made it so great. We had to leave early and they did a special breakfast tray for us. Nothing was too much trouble.

All the staff were extremely helpful and pleasant. Nothing too much trouble. Check in simple and quick. Food delightful and plentiful. Somewhere we would thoroughly recommend to others and happily return to.

Second visit to this lovely hotel. Staff are very friendly and clearly passionate about making your stay memorable. Room was spacious and cosy, Food was amazing and exciting, always great seeing a full restaurant. Good selection of beers and I think I counted 42 bottles of gin tantalise the taste buds. Breakfast was plentiful and relaxed. Having my dog with me, the hotel is very dog friendly and a lovely welcome pack with them in the bedroom and breakfast bowls by the tables. I can’t recommend this hotel enough, and enjoyed my repeat visit, and will be revisiting next summer.

The property, staff, service and cleanliness were all excellent. Nothing needed improving, it was all brilliant. The owners, Jack and Nicki and all their team, worked their socks off 24/7 to ensure we had a lovely stay.

Had a lovely few days at the Inn on the Moor, everyone was very welcoming, very good breakfasts and evening meals. Nice room, comfortable lounge area. Will definitelty return.

The staff are professional, helpful and friendly; the room was tastefully decorated and imaculate; the food, including breakfast, was delicious and the inn is set in an idyllic village with steam train links. Excellent location near beautiful moors and great value for money.

This Hotel and its friendly staff make you feel really welcome in the most scenic part of Yorkshire, with a steam railway and the delightful fishing town of Whitby and markettown Pickering within easy reach. Buses can bring you to various destination and currently the fare is often only £2,-

All was good, staff, food and facility etc. Fun location in a small village. We just happened to get a room still needing renovations and it was quite warm sleeping with no fan in room provided. Would not have any qualms about returning…

Booked The Inn on the Moor not having been to the area before and was very pleased with the hotel. The staff could not have been more helpful or friendly. Food was also good and reasonably priced. The waiting staff were very understanding as I have a dairy allergy as was the chef. The hotel itself is a bit "tired" in places and could do with some work - our window would not shut properly as it seemed to be warped however I would still highly recommend The Inn on the Moor for a break. It is well placed for the moors as well as the coast at Whitby - the old town is well worth a visit.

The Inn on the Moor in Goathland is a lovely, homely inn on the edge of the village, right beside the iconic garage from Heartbeat. Our room, number 5, was large and comfortable. Very nice bathroom, comfortable bed, windows that open (a pet peeve of mine when they don't!). My only suggestion is perhaps better pillows. They were a bit flat and hard. The staff were all very friendly and helpful. The bar is a nice place to sit with a drink and the spacious dining areas were spotless and warm, even on a foggy, cold night. The food was very good - basically gastropub food. Our first night's dinner was better than the second, but both were good. Easy access to Whitby and Sandsend and a lovely drive across the Moors. Definitely recommend for a quiet and relaxing place to stay.

An amazing hotel, where I could not fault anything. The front of house staff escorting us to our room was an unexpected part of the service, and a nice touch. The room had a fantastic view of the moors covered in snow. Spacious and inviting, attention to detail offering coffee mugs as-well as tea cups. The food was inspiring with a festive twist, the choices, being reasonable priced and delicious. A fine selection of wine and beer to enjoy sat in front of an open fire. All the staff very friendly and chatty, making you feel right at home. the option of checking in and out online was hassle free and speeded up the arrival and departure process. in summary, a beautiful friendly hotel in the heart of the countryside, one which i will be returning to to experience in the spring.

We had a fabulous 4 days at the Inn on the Moor. We had a beautiful refurbished room, very clean, modern, plenty of room for all clothes shoes and bits and pieces. Fab bathroom and great shower. The lounge area, conservatory, breakfast conservatory and bar area was very nicely done. Food was amazing!!!! Breakfast, well what can I say anything you want really, Cereal, fruit, full cooked, toast etc etc and all served to the table. Lunch and evening menus equally as fabulous. From check-in to check-out all the staff were so welcoming and friendly Thank you all for making our Yorkshire trip away so memorable.

What a lovely hotel. Beautiful location. Staff were amazing from the moment we arrived. Even showed us to our room. Our room was perfect. Comfortable and clean with lovely decor. We ate in the hotel for breakfast and in the evening and both were delicious. Excellent choice. Would definitely recommend.
