AIR Venice on the Beach

For the money, this was a great value! We had a small beach view but the fog was in and we couldn't see the ocean. The parking was a pain is why I didn't give five stars.

The property was in a great location. No place to park and check in.

Overall this is a good choice as long as the price isn’t too high, I am not a picky traveler so I will stay here again just for the access to the beach and the fact the price was low both times I stayed here. Anyways, Here is a more detailed review: Likes- Easy access to the beach, city electric bikes a short walk away as well as rental shops- 15 minutes by bike to both Venice beach and Santa Monica. You could easily walk it’s beautiful anyways. Good view of the beach out of ocean view/partial view rooms. I had a view of Santa Monica Pier. Windows open so you can get fresh air. Full size fridge, microwave, a small table. Shower water gets sooo hot. Dislikes- Staff did their job well and efficiently but were not very warm. Small lobby with only 2 chairs. 1 elevator that is very old and slow, the housekeeping also use it so on some days it is held up, but you can take the stairs if you want. I was on 5th floor so I just waited. The room was freezing with no central air or heat, they did provide a plug in fan and heater. The walls were brick so it didn’t stay very warm, I just pointed the heater at the bed. Wall outlets- there was no plug in by the bed. There was an unplugged lamp on the bedside table because there was no where to plug it. There was 4 outlets not being used by electronics/appliances but only 2 worked, I ended up unplugging the TV. There is a restaurant on one side and a bar on the other that are open a bit late and can be noisy, but they provided earplugs.

The is no free parking at this location. The closest parking will change you 45-50 $ over night. The hotel will give you a reference parking location where you can park for $20 a day. During weekends it’s pretty loud outside if you’re facing the bar. Overall hotel in nice. It has great size fridge, microwave, coffee maker, hair dryer.

The hotel itself is very clean and secure, and although parking is not on-site, it is only about a 5 minute walk away. You are able to stop in front of the hotel for a short while to unload your suitcase and then go park the car, which we found convenient. The hotel is right on the boardwalk and the beach is accessible from the front door. The only issue we had (which was no fault of the hotels at all) is that there is a bar directly across the street that plays loud music and the windows are not at all soundproof (the hotel does provide ear plugs which was nice). A nice addition to the room would be blackout blinds so that the lights at night and the sun in the morning don't disturb your sleep. Overall, for the price, I would stay here again.

Terrific location on the beach. Able to park 3 blocks away which is great for Venice Beach. Staff extremely polite and helpful.

The property is in a prime location and I highly recommend. The only thing i didn't like was the parking situation. Other than that I would differently stay here again.

I enjoyed my stay very much and will stay there again. Staff was friendly and helpful. Especially when it came to parking. They told where i could park at another location that they use. So i did. It was just a block away. My room was clean and comfortable. I truly enjoyed my time there.

Good view of beach. Great location by Ocean Front Walk (rented a bike and rode up to Will Rogers Beach and back), room was quite clean and staff were very friendly. There was a lack of overnight parking, but they let me know that ahead of time so they shouldn't be dinged for that (got an inexpensive paid spot a short walk away). Will try and stay there again if/when I return to Venice/LA.

I booked a room through Expedia with Air Venice property for August 20. Upon arriving there were homeless people sitting near the entrance of the hotel, they were saying disturbing things as we walked in. We checked in to what we thought was a decent hotel, only to go unload our luggage and upon entering the second time, the biggest roach met us at the door. We go to our room on the second floor to find there is absolutely air conditioning, it’s nearly 80 degrees outside and you have rooms with no ac, I am not sure how you even have a permit to operate like this. We decided we were not comfortable staying in this vicinity with how everything went and the property was not acceptable. We let the check out person know, they had us sign a paper saying we were canceling, and told us there was nothing he could do about our complaints to contact the 3rd party, in which I did, asking for a refund because let’s be honest, who in there right mind would stay anywhere like this. Expedia advised me that there was nothing response last night because it was so late, but I would receive an email about requesting the refund, in which I did, claiming that we did even complain to the person at the counter, which is a complete lie. I’m not sure how you operate a facility like this, but it’s a disgrace that you charge over $200 for something in this shape. These pictures are not what this property even remotely looks like. They also will not give us a refund.

The staff were helpful but the room was dirty and so was the bathroom which was really disconcerting. Comfort was ok as the bed was like a futon on the floor.

The place was very clean and each of the staff I interacted with were very pleasant. Can't beat the location if you want to spend some time on the beach and the boardwalk. My only negative feedback is the bed was very low and mattress was hard.

Everything was good the first day until we brought McDonald’s into the room. Then the roaches (10 or more) started coming out of the cracks in the kitchen area. The desk attendant was nice enough to assign us to another room. The next morning the Orkin’s exterminator was there and I overheard them say at least 6 rooms have roaches. This was a living nightmare and I will never forget this horrible experience.

Air Venice was so clean and nice. We loved our room with a beautiful view of the ocean.

Upon checking in the entrance and exterior smelled. The walls were very dirty and mold was seen and clearly visible around the property. We immediately left once we looked in the room.

Noisy, dirty, smelly, chance to meet bugs every single day in the bathroom. Plus, there's no fan on the bathroom. Good luck

The location of this hotel is decent being right on the boardwalk but it was quite noisy. The room was not clean and smelt damp and was moldy. The parking is about 2 blocks away which is inconvenient and challenging to carry bags to your hotel.

The hotel is in a good location, seconds away from the beach, walking distance to restaurants and bars. The hotel room was clean and staff were friendly. Not a 5 star hotel, but it's a great hotel for the price.

I had an ovean view - no AC - oscilating fan for cooling which didn't help with the mugginess. The walls are paper thin and I appreciate the ear plugs by the side of the bed, but I was worried I was going to be charged for them if I used them.

I have a mixed review. On one hand, the price and location are absolutely perfect. On the other hand, no air conditioning except for the first floor is beyond annoying. The restaurant next door was so noisy it was hard to keep the windows open. Oh yeah, on Thursday they had a punk band playing right below our window. The staff was frequently away, ok, I mean the lone person working the little booth masquerading as a check-in counter. The room was ok to not bad with a good shower and nice beach view. I would not recommend for families though, primarily due to the lack of space, storage, air and amenities. For a solo traveler or youngsters looking for the "hostel" vibe it's perfect. But again, the price was very good and the location in Venice is perfect...

Pictures definitely made the place seem bigger than it is. The view is great. Extremely noisy at night, we spent 2nights there & I have never missed my bed as much as I did when I stayed here. The bed was extremely uncomfortable, you can’t turn to try & find a comfortable position while you sleep without the bed waking everyone else up whose with you. There is also no AC just a fan.

Bare bones hotel rooms, but very clean. Very comfortable bed. And you cant beat the location and the views. I would stay here again.

We loved the room! Great view, comfortable bed, ocean breeze. Keypad locks meant no keys to lose.

This is my fourth or fifth stay at Air Venice primarily because it is on the beach and affordable, relatively. It is simple. I like going out for a run, coming back to climb stairs back to my room, clean hardwood floors, and the spaciousness of the rooms. (There is an elevator for the luggaging;-). No frills and a laundry room. The views make it luxurious.

Quite dated , no a/c , very basic

The oceanfront studio I paid for was different from the one I was given. The photo had an extra couch; it was larger. Judging by the windows in the photo, it was on the top floor, but they gave me a small one on the second floor.

No air conditioning which is usually ok in the evening. It's great for those who only need to be in the room to sleep. Very basic and a bit overpriced for what it is.

I loved The location of this property and you can’t beat the price. Only thing was that it was noisy since there is a club next door but they give you ear plugs which was nice. There is no a/c but a nice fan and the tv remote was weird but it was still a great place to stay! I’ll come back

This was the worst hotel I’ve ever stayed in. It’s pretty much I hostel! I arrived after 10 hours of travelling to find the receptionist was on a break so had to sit in the waiting room for 45 minutes for them to return to get my room. Luckily someone let me in the front door or i would have been waiting outside as no one was picking up the phone line. Then I get to my room and it was shocking the whole hotel needs a makeup it’s so old marked everywhere. The room was basic to say the least I would not of used that shower if you paid me. The worst part was though the noise!! The hotel is next to nightclub so don’t expect to sleep. You know it’s bad when they leave you ear plugs on the bedside table. After a very horrific night ‘sleep’ I went for an early morning walk to figure out it’s located where all the homeless sleep. Did not feel safe at all in this hotel couldn’t wait to leave. Also waking up at 5 AM to noisy plumbing and the smell of weed was great to top evening off!!

We waited in the lobby for someone to check in for 36 minutes . A lady eventually showed up and was so rude couldn’t be bothered with questions about parking or anything else

Historic hotel in an excellent location. Staff accommodated all requests and were always friendly. Looking forward to staying here next time I’m in LA!

The lady at front desk was super cool and helpful and the dude in the morning pointed me in the right direction for a good breakfast the room was clean with a cool view of Venice beach .

We waited 40 minutes for anyone to even show up to the front desk to check us in. Once they finally showed up we got our room code (because this place doesn't use key cards) and the code didn't work on the room. We tried multiple times and finally went back downstairs to get a new code. They were gone. We waiting another 20 minutes and finally left. Horrible area... It would be great if all you wanted to do was go out and party

Rarely was the front desk staffed and it made check-in challenging. I had to search around the second floor to find any staff in the building to help me.

The location is 5⭐️but the service is 1 ⭐️ I was treated very badly by an employee named Aizea. I had stayed a week ago and had informed that I would return and it was already paid, they informed me or I understood that I could stay, I arrived alone at 2 am this employee said there were no suites available, ok! The problem is that I had nowhere to go and I asked to wait sitting at the reception until dawn and he said he couldn't, treating me super badly and if he wanted to stay he would have to pay an amount of almost 300 dollars for 1/2 daily And the worst thing was the way he spoke, aggressive and at no time making a point of helping. I swear to leave there crying and super disappointed with the treatment.

We had the most wonderful stay at Air Venice. Room was clean, large and had beautiful partial sea views. We arrived early and were able to leave luggage and go exploring the area which had a relaxed holiday feel and easy walking distance to Santa Monica along board walk. Hop on/off bus just a few minutes walk away to see all the Hollywood touristy sites. Lots of places to eat and souvenirs and street performers. Bikes/ scooters very popular. A big thank you to friendly Eunes at reception for being so helpful with suggestions. We had a late flight out so we’re able to leave bags again and enjoy last day. Convenient as only 30 min to airport, would stay again if in LA

Very quaint and stylish hotel in a perfect location across the street from the beach and very close to many restaurants, bars and souvenir stores. Staff was amazing and very helpful with any problems that came up as well as with information about the area. I feel that this one of my favorite hotels that I have stayed in recently and recommend it highly! If I return in the future, I plan to stay here again.

Excellent location. Very close to Santa Monica. Walkable to nice cafes and restaurants. Beach front hotel.

a lot of homeless. we were 1st floor and had to keep curtains drawn because homeless were standing outside of our window looking in. very limited dining. no parking.

We chose Air Venice because it was right on the beach and the property lived up to our expectations. It's an older property so don't expect grandeur but it was clean. Being able to walk out of the front door and watch the sunset over the ocean was spectacular.

Pros: Clean, comfy bed, right on the boardwalk, close to food and bars. Cons: no parking. Have to find street parking or overnight garage. Found parking 4 blocks down on the street.

Sunce we walked into the lobby, elevator, stairs, inside the room all smelled really awful! The place was surrounded by homeless and not a safe place to go by the beach for a walk especially when it was dark. No parking for the hotel, we had to park way far from the hotel and walked all the way back to the hotel. It was a noisy place and we heard all homeless or drunk people yelling or singing in the midnight till 3:00AM It was just a place to sleep under a roof. Even we avoided to take shower because we found it very smelly and disgusting.

Fantastic location right on the beach. A lovely 20 minute walk to Santa Monica, very convenient. We were worried about the reviews mentioning the noise from the bar next door. During the week the music was off by 9pm, at the weekend the music stopped at about 1am. As we were on the top floor the music wasn’t really a problem but the hotel does provide earplugs. Be sure to remember the code and be careful who you hold the door open for as a couple of homeless people do linger in that area. Room was very clean and supplied everything we needed for a week. Most staff were friendly. Would definitely stay again.

Great views from ocean front rooms about 1/2 way between Santa Monica Pier and Venice Beach Pier. Step right out the door to be in the middle of everything. Note that you can hear music from bars and people on Ocean Walk so if that will bother you, don’t get ocean front room.

Fantastic room with big bay window directly on to Venice beach - you could sit in the room and watch the action all day should you prefer! Noisy until 10pm only after which it was nice an quiet. Secure parking a couple of blocks away. Possibly to park in front of hotel long enough to unload and load the car.

Was expecting a buffet/continental breakfast and was handed a bag with an apple and muffin a mini water bottle and juice. they say it is due to renovations, but if that’s the case, they should have advised this beforehand that.rooms were OK. Dot.

Easy check in. Comfortable bed and shower. Good window shades. Liked the fan also. Coffee (in room) was not very good :-(

Great beachfront hotel, super cute room, really convenient that I had a refrigerator microwave and coffee machine.

Spacious room and comfy bed. Loved my sliver view of the beach and big windows. The brick was a really nice touch to the room. Loved the coffee in the morning and cool to have a big fridge and microwave in my room. Super deal for the $
