A nice well run hotel with very modern and comfortable rooms. Plenty of options for food and drink in the hotel and very reasonable prices. Would happily recommend. Only negative was the room allocated had an outlook only a slate roof and nothing else. Makes me wonder whether Expedia only sell the less attractive rooms in golfers.

The hotel is in need of refurbishing, the carpets are tired and the paintwork is shabby. Money has been spent on the entrance hall and the restaurant, and these are splendid, though the plastic foliage is rather overdone. The revolving screen display shows a lack of imagination, there was no change to the advert for RAD Rewards ! Why not include some pictures of local beauty spots ? The food in the restaurant was excellent, and the staff were very helpful and friendly.

Hotel was very clean staff very attentive Altgough there is no where to go for a sit down meal around the area. we sat in the hotel for a meal and a few drinks as was good Only problem we had was the noise from the neighbouring bar at the end if the night as people was waiting for taxi's and a lot of chattering .but all in all it was a good and friendly hotel and would probably stay again

Our room had recently been refurbished and may also have been an upgrade (ask for room numbers 10-16). Facilities and decor were excellent, with a walk-in shower, comfortable bed and free parking. We didn’t have dinner in the hotel but the restaurant was very busy. Breakfast was included in the room rate and was of a good standard. Staff were friendly and professional so we would have no hesitation in recommending the Royal Hotel.
Our room had recently been refurbished and may also have been an upgrade (ask for room numbers 10-16). Facilities and decor were excellent, with a walk-in shower, comfortable bed and free parking. We didn’t have dinner in the hotel but the restaurant was very busy. Breakfast was included in the room rate and was of a good standard. Staff were friendly and professional so we would have no hesitation in recommending the Royal Hotel.

The Royal Hotel has very nice staff and the bar and restaurant area are bright and lovely. Unfortunately, my room, in particular the en suite bathroom were not up to scratch at all. The bed had seen better days and was not comfy, heavy winter duvet on was way too warm for this warmer weather. There was heavy dust inside the wardrobe and a lot of scratches. I know the history of the hotel as I was brought up in Cumnock and was back to visit a friend, so it was disappointing to see the room looking so tired. There was heavy thick black mould all around the bath, particularly bad under the taps. The front part of one of the cupboard units in the bathroom was hanging loose. I was really warm all night and it was impossible to open the windows. Positives were that the room was a good nice with tea and coffee provided, but why the little plastic stirrers and not real spoons? So not eco friendly. On checking out, I passed on my feedback and showed my photos. I was told if I had mentioned it the night before that I could have changed rooms, but had taken very unwell and had to literally rest and lie down from 5pm. The staff were very nice downstairs. The breakfast was cooked to perfection and could not be faulted. Some good, some bad, some downright ugly. So sad to see some of the hotel needing attention.

I booked two rooms with the same specs but it was a huge difference between both and the washrooms had the worst amenities even the bath tubs were broken…some of the staff representatives were very racist and rude and there was a weird smell in the hallways too.

The condition of the bathroom was appalling. The shower controls were broken , could not cool down the water. The floor was treacherous when wet , the door didn't lock and the extractor fan didn't work. The food in the restaurant was quite frankly awful but the staff disappeared before we could challenge them. Sorry not impressed.t

Friendly and helpful service. Great food both for dinner and breakfast. Rooms are clean, I had a family room although there was only me, room and bathroom was spacious with a separate closet. Would definitely stay again.

Hotel was lovely and so were the staff. Breakfast was nicer than some of the hotels I’ve stayed in. My one complaint is that lack of sound proofing, when someone walked past my room it sounded like a heard of elephants and anyone talking while walking past it sounded like they were purposely shouting (they may have been but I shouldn’t think they were)

Great breakfast in the morning but the room I stayed in was dated and worn. The bathroom had warped wood from water damage and the shower was the weakest I've ever experienced. However if I needed to stay in Cumnock again I might stay again as it was cheap enough for a bed for the night.

Nice big room, super comfy bed, great shower. Food was really good, staff were all great. My only gripe was the lack of WiFi in my room but hot-spot through my phone solved that. On the whole, a very nice stay and I'll be happy to stay again.

The staff here are so nice and accommodating. Check in was easy. The restaurant served very good food! The bedrooms were large with modern bathrooms and the beds were comfortable. Just an FYI…the showers have tubs that are hard for older people to get into and theirs lots of stairs. One elevator goes up to the first floor rooms but there are still stairs to the other rooms. Oh and there’s no A/C but in general, we didn’t need it. There were fans in each room. Overall good stay!

The property was very nice. And on coolnigys there was good air flow. Not sure how it would be on hot evenings. Is air conditioning in hotels future? The streets can be quite noisy on a Saturday night after the bar closes, but the hotel felt safe.

Myself and 2 friends went to watch the open. We stayed at the hotel. We were expecting 3 single beds but we had a double and sofa bed. Having spoken to a lovely lady she came to our rescue with a bed. Thanks

Stayed to attend a wedding ,loved breakfast, though the sausages changes, dining area had good music it was vibes . There was mix up with the bedroom reservations at first was shown a double room instead of the suite i booked however this was rectified. loved the suite room 14 as it had privacy and good space . Just didn't like how the toilet flushes it’s awkward and main door doesn't shut properly have to double check as few occasion room left open thinking was shut, probably needs oil or something . luckily it was the only room on the top floor and very private but can be a security problem , forgot to mention on checkout. I Booked a standard family room for my friends however was shown a double room room 11 which was misleading this may be an Expedia issue either way staff offered to put in a sofa bed as i had the receipts. Overall staff was very exceptional my friends and i were stranded at New cumnock due to lack of cabs that the hotel was willing to get bar staff to pick us up which was above and beyond very greatful thank so much as just shows they are kind hearted. Wish it was nearer as I would come back to New Cumnock it was a vibe 😎

The young lady who was doing everything was absolutely amazing. She checked me on the evening and served me breakfast the next morning. She was absolutely what every hotel wants.

Hotel was very clean staff very attentive Altgough there is no where to go for a sit down meal around the area. we sat in the hotel for a meal and a few drinks as was good Only problem we had was the noise from the neighbouring bar at the end if the night as people was waiting for taxi's and a lot of chattering .but all in all it was a good and friendly hotel and would probably stay again

The property was very nice. And on coolnigys there was good air flow. Not sure how it would be on hot evenings. Is air conditioning in hotels future? The streets can be quite noisy on a Saturday night after the bar closes, but the hotel felt safe.

The condition of the bathroom was appalling. The shower controls were broken , could not cool down the water. The floor was treacherous when wet , the door didn't lock and the extractor fan didn't work. The food in the restaurant was quite frankly awful but the staff disappeared before we could challenge them. Sorry not impressed.t

Friendly and helpful service. Great food both for dinner and breakfast. Rooms are clean, I had a family room although there was only me, room and bathroom was spacious with a separate closet. Would definitely stay again.

Great breakfast in the morning but the room I stayed in was dated and worn. The bathroom had warped wood from water damage and the shower was the weakest I've ever experienced. However if I needed to stay in Cumnock again I might stay again as it was cheap enough for a bed for the night.

Our room had recently been refurbished and may also have been an upgrade (ask for room numbers 10-16). Facilities and decor were excellent, with a walk-in shower, comfortable bed and free parking. We didn’t have dinner in the hotel but the restaurant was very busy. Breakfast was included in the room rate and was of a good standard. Staff were friendly and professional so we would have no hesitation in recommending the Royal Hotel.

Staff were very friendly and helpful. Food was very nice and the room was very clean. The bed was very comfortable. The parking was a bit tricky because I was driving a large work van and the car park was very narrow. I stayed in room 16 for 3 nights.

We stayed at this hotel for 2 nights and overall had a very good experience. Unfortunately, on the first day there was an issue with the boilers, so we did not have hot water. Since we had an important meeting, it was quite an inconvenient situation for us. However, we would really like to thank Ms. Jade M, who did her absolute best to help us and make the situation easier. Her kindness, professionalism, and support were truly appreciated. Aside from this issue, the hotel was excellent. The breakfast was very good with high-quality food, and all the staff were friendly and welcoming. We would definitely consider staying here again.
