We stayed here for 2 nights and the hosts were great. The rooms were great as well. I only wish the bar was open later and on Wednesdays seems like they do not open at all. For a hotel I would think guests want to have drinks by the pool while they are on the property. You can jump right off the docks into the clear water and see all types of fish. If they ever change the restaurant/bar times I will go back for sure.

We received a room upgrade due to being assigned the wrong room upon arrival. The room was brand new and large with a comfortable bed and huge bathroom. The staff was very friendly and helpful. The restaurant meals were excellent with good portions. And the pool with the swim up bar was a welcome treat. portions.

Great Owners & Staff. Welcoming and inviting. Property is super cute. Swimming pool with swim up bar. Bungalows over the water and on land. AC doesn't cool well and it stays humid in the room area. Other then that great place to come for food, music and swimming with friends or family. The Caribbean water is clear. You can walk the docks and see starfish, stingrays, fish and even nurse sharks. Water Taxi costs $2/pp from Bocas Town each way. The owners beautiful art work is for sale on site. Come & visit or stay for awhile. Stop at the market prior to coming to the island.

Would absolutely recommend Cosmic Crab for your stay in Bocas del Toro! Opening up our door in the morning directly to the ocean was amazing, and the breakfast each morning was sooo delicious. The owners are always available on property and are super helpful in booking tours, making local recommendations, and making sure your stay is comfortable. They even refunded guests who could not make the trip due to protests that ocuurred Panama during our stay, which is highly commendable and respectable. They truly have the safety and comfort of the guest in mind. Be aware that the rooms on the water are small, as they only have a bed next to the bathroom with no door (only a curtain) separating the two, and that the sand flies can be vicious at night, and that the restaurant is only open on Friday-Sunday, but it's too good of a price and location to pass up! It's only $1 and literally a one-minute boat ride to get to the main island, and all the boat tours pick you up right at the dock of the hotel. We had such an enjoyable stay and miss it already!

This is an adorable place on the water! It is walkable to anywhere on Carenero Island! And just a quick water taxi to Bocas town! Cosmic Crab has a beautiful swim up pool over looking the water, jungle and water front cabanas! Very clean, two restaurant s on the site. The coconut shrimp is the best! If you have a boat, you can easily dock alongside the waterfront cabanas. The day I was there they had tropical live music by the pool (Atlantis) . A beautiful little landscape place to hang out either by yourself or with friends. A little tip: If you’re walking around Isla Carenero, you may want to bring sunscreen and bug soray for no see ums. You can add Cosmic Crab to your unique stay in when visiting Bocas del Toro.

Ein großer Vorteil ist sicherlich die Lage der Anlage und die schönen, gemütlichen Cabinas, die über das Wasser gebaut sind. Von dort ist man in wenigen Minuten per Wassertaxi in Bocas. Sie fahren fast 24/7. Die gesamte Anlage ist sicherlich schon etwas in die Jahre gekommen und der Service war nicht wirklich gut. Abends und auch tagsüber war die Bar/ Restaurant fast immer geschlossen. Bei Nachfrage nach einem Bier … um diese Uhrzeit nicht mehr. Man muss sich also Getränke von Bocas mitbringen, hat aber in den Cabinas keinen Kühlschrank. … unbedingt ein gutes Bugspray (Off) mitbringen, sonst wird es vor den Cabinas sehr ungemütlich, Das Frühstück war Basic, aber gut. Die Ruhe ist fantastisch.

Though we were in one of the cabins we were on the front sp the noise of the bars were so loud, even earplugs didnt work. Quite a bit of rain so lots of biting animals! Pool didnt look very inviting. Had a problem with the plumbing and though we were offered to move we were only there for 3 nights. Though it was Christmas time we thought it was overpriced as did not include breakfast. Everyone was very pleasant and helpful.

We stayed three days and the room was not cleaned once. We also dined in the restaurant and would not recommend the lobster. The accommodations themselves were very unique and quaint however seasoned.

Mug og svamp i brusekabine... Hvis det var rengjort ville der måske ikke lugte så slemt og indelukket. Yderlig var brusehovedet, så tilkalket at man skulle løbe mellem de 5 stråler som kom ud. Udvendigt svarende stedet til forventningerne, men værelset - bestemt ikke prisen værd.

We stayed four days and there was no room service. We had to put the toilet paper in the trash can and it was never emptied. The beds were never changed or made. There is also no sandy beach around the hotel.

Mi experiencia en este hotel fue decepcionante. Durante las tres noches de mi estadía, nunca realizaron limpieza en la habitación, algo imprescindible en un hotel, especialmente estando en una zona de playa y con clima caliente. Esto no solo genera incomodidad, sino que también afecta por la descomposición de papeles de baño y la acumulación de suciedad, lo cual requiere un mantenimiento constante. La habitación tenía un fuerte olor a humedad, que en ocasiones se mezclaba con olores provenientes del exterior, similares a desagües. Esto hacía que el ambiente fuera muy desagradable. Además, un problema muy grave fue que, al dormir, amanecíamos con múltiples picaduras en el cuerpo, lo que sugiere la presencia de insectos en las camas, lo cual resultó inaceptable e incómodo. Si bien las instalaciones exteriores del hotel son normales y los dueños son amables y atentos, el costo no justifica el servicio ofrecido. La falta de limpieza y las condiciones de la habitación hicieron que nuestra estadía fuera muy insatisfactoria. Lamentablemente, no puedo recomendar este hotel.

We stayed on a waterfront cabin. We stayed here for a night and did’t arrive until sundown. Our cabin was quite warm and musty from the dampness and lack of AC until we arrived. The design is carried throughout in the furnishings inside. Waking up to the water views in the morning was magical. Three things I wish were attended to: A plumbing smell which could be combatted with air fresheners. Only give the towels once guests arrive (as they were musty from the warm damp room before arrival). Complimentary bug spray/cream since we got attacked by sandflies and one of us reacted very poorly a day later without knowing. The family that owns the property is lovely and keeps that pot of complimentary coffee nicely filled in the morning (a nice cup to enjoy with the views).

O quarto de frente para o jardim que ficamos cheirava esgoto. Matamos 2 baratas em 1 noite de hospedagem. Bar da piscina bom. Não servem lanches todas as noites. Se você estiver com fome, tem que chamar um barco e ir para outra ilha do local comer. O estabelecimento até que é bonito, porém mal conservado e necessitando de reforma nos quartos. Caminhamos para fora da propriedade, do lado esquerdo, e a cerca de 200m se inicia uma favela horrível, imunda e mal cuidada. Sentimos medo de caminhar no local. Enfim, não recomendo se hospedar nesta ilha, nem a pousada.

En general la limpieza estuvo genial y el lugar rústico un poco antiguo pero todo en Bocas es igual. Para quedarse en familia está súper bien. La comida es poca, la ducha estaba mala, calentaba a quemar o completamente fría. Habitación sin ventalacion porque si se abría la ventana se metían los mosquitos que además pican súper duro. La piscina de agua muy fría.

En general la limpieza estuvo genial y el lugar rústico un poco antiguo pero todo en Bocas es igual. Para quedarse en familia está súper bien. La comida es poca, la ducha estaba mala, calentaba a quemar o completamente fría. Habitación sin ventalacion porque si se abría la ventana se metían los mosquitos que además pican súper duro. The website (expedia) photo are very diffrent. Room has a bad odor, noisy ac, and sadly a very poor neighborhood with houses with poverty on a garbage field. All the dirt are floating on the sea. I wish i could read the other comments. Expedia helpdesk didnt help me at all. This is my last trip with expedia, asap its over i will cancell my account!

We received a room upgrade due to being assigned the wrong room upon arrival. The room was brand new and large with a comfortable bed and huge bathroom. The staff was very friendly and helpful. The restaurant meals were excellent with good portions. And the pool with the swim up bar was a welcome treat. portions.

Great Owners & Staff. Welcoming and inviting. Property is super cute. Swimming pool with swim up bar. Bungalows over the water and on land. AC doesn't cool well and it stays humid in the room area. Other then that great place to come for food, music and swimming with friends or family. The Caribbean water is clear. You can walk the docks and see starfish, stingrays, fish and even nurse sharks. Water Taxi costs $2/pp from Bocas Town each way. The owners beautiful art work is for sale on site. Come & visit or stay for awhile. Stop at the market prior to coming to the island.

Would absolutely recommend Cosmic Crab for your stay in Bocas del Toro! Opening up our door in the morning directly to the ocean was amazing, and the breakfast each morning was sooo delicious. The owners are always available on property and are super helpful in booking tours, making local recommendations, and making sure your stay is comfortable. They even refunded guests who could not make the trip due to protests that ocuurred Panama during our stay, which is highly commendable and respectable. They truly have the safety and comfort of the guest in mind. Be aware that the rooms on the water are small, as they only have a bed next to the bathroom with no door (only a curtain) separating the two, and that the sand flies can be vicious at night, and that the restaurant is only open on Friday-Sunday, but it's too good of a price and location to pass up! It's only $1 and literally a one-minute boat ride to get to the main island, and all the boat tours pick you up right at the dock of the hotel. We had such an enjoyable stay and miss it already!

We stayed on a waterfront cabin. We stayed here for a night and did’t arrive until sundown. Our cabin was quite warm and musty from the dampness and lack of AC until we arrived. The design is carried throughout in the furnishings inside. Waking up to the water views in the morning was magical. Three things I wish were attended to: A plumbing smell which could be combatted with air fresheners. Only give the towels once guests arrive (as they were musty from the warm damp room before arrival). Complimentary bug spray/cream since we got attacked by sandflies and one of us reacted very poorly a day later without knowing. The family that owns the property is lovely and keeps that pot of complimentary coffee nicely filled in the morning (a nice cup to enjoy with the views).

I could have done without loud reggae especially in the morning disturbing the tranquility, some bossa nova perhaps? Dining was a too expensive for mediocre food, drinks expensive & very weak.theres an awful lot of chitras around the area due to plants in standing water surrounding the property but the view off porch from overwater bungalows was amazing! The AC is great & all staff very helpful and kind😊

The website (expedia) photo are very diffrent. Room has a bad odor, noisy ac, and sadly a very poor neighborhood with houses with poverty on a garbage field. All the dirt are floating on the sea. I wish i could read the other comments. Expedia helpdesk didnt help me at all. This is my last trip with expedia, asap its over i will cancell my account!

Though we were in one of the cabins we were on the front sp the noise of the bars were so loud, even earplugs didnt work. Quite a bit of rain so lots of biting animals! Pool didnt look very inviting. Had a problem with the plumbing and though we were offered to move we were only there for 3 nights. Though it was Christmas time we thought it was overpriced as did not include breakfast. Everyone was very pleasant and helpful.

I have stayed here many times, and the relaxed vibe always brings me back. The grounds have one of the best sunset views. The staff is fun and attentive. We think the restaurant has some of the best food and drinks in Bocas. It easy to get a water taxi to Isla Colon or other islands. You can relax by the pool, enjoy the beautiful garden, or read a book in your over the water cabina.

Me and my partner stayed for 3 nights. The hotel is right on the water. It is on a smaller, more secluded island, which is only a 2 minute boat taxi from the main island. The hosts were attentive, they helped us book day tours around the different islands. The food served at the restaurant was delicious and well worth eating there. There is a very chilled atmosphere in the hotel which is ideal for the island feeling. We spent a lot of time in the pool, it was clean and fresh, overlooking the ocean and some amazing sunsets. I do not recommend the cosmic crab. There were 3 of us staying for 4 nights in the hummingbird cabin and we could not wait to leave. The property has potential but has been neglected. The cabins smell like raw sewage inside and out. The water pressure was very low. I have been living in Panama for years now and am very accustomed to rustic accommodations but this place is just poorly managed, and poorly maintained. The restaurant closes at 7:30 and was barely open during our entire stay. Whenever we needed anything it always felt like we were inconveniencing the staff and like our being there was such a burden. We never asked for housekeeping but when we did ask for towels the owner scolded us for not asking “in advance”. The owner also was very rude and passive aggressive whenever we needed anything. There was no coffee the morning after we checked in and it was like we were asking for a million dollars just to get coffee that was supposed to be free every day. when we asked if we could get lunch on our last day, the owner literally told us “that’s not going to happen”. Complete lack of hospitality especially from Joan, the owner. She tries to make you feel welcomed but the moment you need something you feel like a burden. This place has potential but the management is terrible. Just stay somewhere else far away from the krusty crab.

Everything was fantastic, my host Joan was incredibly welcoming and helpful in making my experience in Bocas great. I was fortunate to get a room upgrade which I’m grateful for and got to be in the over water bungalows. The food was delicious, especially the lobster!! The staff, location… I reiterate, everything! Simply enjoyable. Highly recommend

This is an adorable place on the water! It is walkable to anywhere on Carenero Island! And just a quick water taxi to Bocas town! Cosmic Crab has a beautiful swim up pool over looking the water, jungle and water front cabanas! Very clean, two restaurant s on the site. The coconut shrimp is the best! If you have a boat, you can easily dock alongside the waterfront cabanas. The day I was there they had tropical live music by the pool (Atlantis) . Great quiet location. Easily accessable to water taxis to go to any islands. The food and Bloody Marys at Cosmic Crab are so great. We stayed 2 weeks and ate multiple meals here and neither of us had a bad meal. You can't go wrong here with location, food and cocktails.

O quarto de frente para o jardim que ficamos cheirava esgoto. Matamos 2 baratas em 1 noite de hospedagem. Bar da piscina bom. Não servem lanches todas as noites. Se você estiver com fome, tem que chamar um barco e ir para outra ilha do local comer. O estabelecimento até que é bonito, porém mal conservado e necessitando de reforma nos quartos. Caminhamos para fora da propriedade, do lado esquerdo, e a cerca de 200m se inicia uma favela horrível, imunda e mal cuidada. Sentimos medo de caminhar no local. Enfim, não recomendo se hospedar nesta ilha, nem a pousada.

Es un lugar básico, con lo indispensable para pasarla bien. En mi experiencia en la habitación nos dejaron artículos usados de otros huespedes y aunque entendemos el tema ecológico, no supimos si fue por esto o no. También no sabíamos que los miércoles no tienen servicio de restuarante, solo desayunos y las habitación donde me hospedé solo contaba con Refrigerador.

Es un lugar básico, con lo indispensable para pasarla bien. En mi experiencia en la habitación nos dejaron artículos usados de otros huespedes y aunque entendemos el tema ecológico, no supimos si fue por esto o no. We received a room upgrade due to being assigned the wrong room upon arrival. The room was brand new and large with a comfortable bed and huge bathroom. The staff was very friendly and helpful. The restaurant meals were excellent with good portions. And the pool with the swim up bar was a welcome treat. portions.

Would absolutely recommend Cosmic Crab for your stay in Bocas del Toro! Opening up our door in the morning directly to the ocean was amazing, and the breakfast each morning was sooo delicious. The owners are always available on property and are super helpful in booking tours, making local recommendations, and making sure your stay is comfortable. They even refunded guests who could not make the trip due to protests that ocuurred Panama during our stay, which is highly commendable and respectable. They truly have the safety and comfort of the guest in mind. Be aware that the rooms on the water are small, as they only have a bed next to the bathroom with no door (only a curtain) separating the two, and that the sand flies can be vicious at night, and that the restaurant is only open on Friday-Sunday, but it's too good of a price and location to pass up! It's only $1 and literally a one-minute boat ride to get to the main island, and all the boat tours pick you up right at the dock of the hotel. We had such an enjoyable stay and miss it already!

This is an adorable place on the water! It is walkable to anywhere on Carenero Island! And just a quick water taxi to Bocas town! Cosmic Crab has a beautiful swim up pool over looking the water, jungle and water front cabanas! Very clean, two restaurant s on the site. The coconut shrimp is the best! If you have a boat, you can easily dock alongside the waterfront cabanas. The day I was there they had tropical live music by the pool (Atlantis) . A beautiful little landscape place to hang out either by yourself or with friends. A little tip: If you’re walking around Isla Carenero, you may want to bring sunscreen and bug soray for no see ums. You can add Cosmic Crab to your unique stay in when visiting Bocas del Toro.

Everything was fantastic, my host Joan was incredibly welcoming and helpful in making my experience in Bocas great. I was fortunate to get a room upgrade which I’m grateful for and got to be in the over water bungalows. The food was delicious, especially the lobster!! The staff, location… I reiterate, everything! Simply enjoyable. Highly recommend

Ein großer Vorteil ist sicherlich die Lage der Anlage und die schönen, gemütlichen Cabinas, die über das Wasser gebaut sind. Von dort ist man in wenigen Minuten per Wassertaxi in Bocas. Sie fahren fast 24/7. Die gesamte Anlage ist sicherlich schon etwas in die Jahre gekommen und der Service war nicht wirklich gut. Abends und auch tagsüber war die Bar/ Restaurant fast immer geschlossen. Bei Nachfrage nach einem Bier … um diese Uhrzeit nicht mehr. Man muss sich also Getränke von Bocas mitbringen, hat aber in den Cabinas keinen Kühlschrank. … unbedingt ein gutes Bugspray (Off) mitbringen, sonst wird es vor den Cabinas sehr ungemütlich, Das Frühstück war Basic, aber gut. Die Ruhe ist fantastisch.

There are limited dining options - the first day we arrived the both restaurants were closed - breakfast took over an hour each day which is too long - dinner was great the lobster with passionfruit butter was well work it. It is a cute spot but you do need to take a water taxi anywhere you go, the rooms are small but okbjust for sleeping

I could have done without loud reggae especially in the morning disturbing the tranquility, some bossa nova perhaps? Dining was a too expensive for mediocre food, drinks expensive & very weak.theres an awful lot of chitras around the area due to plants in standing water surrounding the property but the view off porch from overwater bungalows was amazing! The AC is great & all staff very helpful and kind😊

La habitación familiar algo justa de espacio, no hacen lumpieza diaria, solo la hicieron en una ocasión en 5 días. Constaba servicio de wifi oero nuestro midem no funcionaba, reclamé durante 2 días pero no lo solucionaron hasta que coincidí directamente con la gestora, tampoco me dieron la opción de contactar con ellos. Tras decirme que no sabia cual era el problema me dio acceso a otra red (solo tardo 2 min, se podría haber hecho en el orimer momento en que lo pedí) como compensación me invitaron a una bebida... La piscina agradable, el servicio de comidas muy lento, tardaron 60 min para servirnos la comida a 4 personas vuando estábamos solos en el restaurante.

The hotel offers a true mixed bag. While the rooms are quite tiny and the price feels steep for the size, the staff were absolutely excellent, friendly and attentive throughout. The furniture is worn but spotless, though the outdoor seating isn't great for lounging. Be aware that the water taxis can be a bit unsteady to board and un-board. That said, the views are simply magnificent, the cook is outstanding, and I even enjoyed a refreshing dip in the pool. Overall, a memorable stay despite the drawbacks.

According to Hotels.com, this is an “excellent” hotel, and as for atmosphere, sure it is, the lack of service, unreliable electricity, terrible WiFi ( except in the common area), power outages (twice in 3 days) and annoying sandflies notwithstanding. But at the price, the glum service and the surprised stares which greet you when you ask for service offers very low value. ( I am a native Spanish speaker…that wasn’t the problem,)We stayed three days and not once during our stay was the room cleaned, the trash cans emptied or the towels changed. There was a constant puddle on the floor by the bed. The restaurant offers barely palatable meals. And being on Carenero means that the taxi boat fares to Boca town do add up. Not at all recommended. Nice pool. AC okay, when power is working.
