The description of the hotel on hotel.com is totally misleading . It said the hotel is “connected to a shopping mall”. but its NOT true . The mall is near the hotel by crossing the streets but not connected! The room is old and the facilities like the pool , gym are pretty run down. the hotel definitely needs total refurbishment .

The location is great if you want to explore the area, it's close to Foshan Lingnan World which is a bit of a tourist trap but still has a good choice of food and entertainment by local standards. Overall the hotel was in good condition, check-in and out were both efficient. Breakfast was included, and there was an OK selection, not as comprehensive as some of the GZ hotels but acceptable, you fill find something you like. The room was very comfortable, and also had a kitchenette but for some reason lacked coffee facilities (I really think 4+ star should come with a Nespresso or equivalent machine). My only real complaint ... the gym was closed, and the excuse given was Covid, but considering my stay was in Jan 2023 and all covid restrictions have been dropped, this didn't make any sense.

Wir haben das Hotel während Geschäftsreise genutzt - Frühstück international und chinesisch sehr gut. Wir hatten Excecutive Floor gebucht mit Lounge-Zugang am Nachmittag und am Abend mit guter Auswahl an Snacks und Getränken. Nähe Ancestral Temple (sehr sehenswert) sowie in unmittelbarer Nähe zur Foshan Lignan World, die Altstadt mit vielen Restaurants und Geschäften - ein Muss am Tag und am Abend. Im Januar ist die Gegend um Jinhua Rd eine Attraktion für die Dekorationen zu Kauf für Chinese New Year. Auch Foshan Pioneer Industrial Park am Abend beeindruckend.

I enjoyed staying at Cordis, Foshan. This was my second experience there. Appreciate that they gave me a complementary upgrade to the top floor. Overall, everything is still perfect. I would still strongly suggest that they setup a small business center with a few desktop computers, printer, etc. for the convenience of guests. (Their sister hotel in Kowloon, Hong Kong has kiosk for such purpose. I stayed there before coming to Foshan. It does not involve much overhead and will bring convenience to guests. Please learn from your sister hotel for continuous improvement.)

This property advertises itself as new but it's the old Marco Polo with some renovations. Location is the best thing as it's a few steps from Lingnan. But the rooms are small, old and not very comfortable. Balconies are nice but have no furniture. Bathroom wasn't very clean and was also very small. For the price we have stayed in much better 5 star hotels in similar cities so value for money is not there. Would stay there again only if I need/want to be in the area as it is the nicest in town.

This Cordis hotel does not represent the Cordis group, it looks great outside but the interior leaves much to be desired..as it seems to have seen it better times. 2 major things to be aware of: extremely noise A/C and the rooms smell moisture and cigarettes smoke as it used to be allowed to smoke inside. Could not wait to leave the room .

The staff was very accommodating to help an English only speaking guest. The rooms were quiet and comfortable, great pillows and comforters and the housekeeping staff was great. The restaurant served very good food.The room was a bit musty, but I think it is the nature of the moist climate and that they possibly turn off the ac when the rooms are not in use. There is great shopping within blocks of the area. I will certainly return.

A drone with camera function flew into the room and I complained to the hotel. The hotel actually replied that it was a children's toy and asked me to return it to the owner of the drone. I asked the hotel to call the police on my behalf to see what was recorded inside, but the hotel actually asked me to resolve it privately with the owner of the drone!
