A special experience but not for everyone. The cloud forest reserve involves hiking up and down steep slopes and the trail from reception/restaurant to most of the rooms is 200m with a lot of steps. Some glimpses of wildlife but not a huge amount. Restaurant excellent and good value, especially the local fish. Room heating by air conditioner a bit erratic.

Die Unterkunft liegt auf 2600 Metern Höhe und bietet durch die Panoramafenster einen grandiosen Ausblick auf die tolle Landschaft. Der Ort ist ein Paradies für Vogelliebhaber, aber auch sonst bietet die Landschaft noch einmal eine tolle Abwechslung zu den anderen Klimazonen Costa Ricas. Wir hatten einen Bungalow mit 2 Schlafzimmer, was bei einem Urlaub mit Kind wirklich schön ist. Die Unterkunft ist etwas in die Jahre gekommen aber trotzdem sehr gemütlich. Über die Klimaanlage lässt sich ausschließlich der Wohnzimmer beheizen, aber die Schlafzimmer sind mit einem Etanol Kamin ausgestattet, sehr gemütlich aber mit begrenzter Leistung (wird nachts schon frisch). Badezimmer sind leider nicht beheizt. Whirlpool hat bei uns leider nicht funktioniert. Die Anlage ist sehr weitläufig. Wir hatten Glück mit der Lage, allerdings sind manche Unterkünfte auch 500 Meter von der Rezeption und dem Restaurant entfernt, was unangenehm sein kann, wenn es regnet.

Amazing view from every individual lodge. This is an amazing property with a large natural areas with hiking trails. The trail levels would be moderate and difficulty, but it is really nice to be with trees and natures. Excellent services, staff are warm, friendly and helpful. Excellent dinner menu with very reasonable prices. Humming bird feeder brought nice visitors. The bird and nature guide (Carlos) booked through the lodge was excellent. We saw quetzal birds twice!!!

This hotel was wonderful; the tour guides were particularly knowledgeable and also great with kids! We enjoyed the restaurant and especially the views from the rooms (we had 3, and all were incredible). It is a bit of a walk through the cloud forest to the rooms, but there is help for luggage, and it's exactly the kind of walk you come to Costa Rica to take! Thank you Dantica!

This hotel and its rooms are absolutely gorgeous. Located on a vast property with trails to enjoy this piece of paradise in the mountains. The restaurant has delicious food. Only bummer is that breakfast is only for 2 hours from 7 to 9, which is a time when you will be our bird watching if you came to the area to do bird watching (which is what most people do here). So even so our breakfast was included we could not have it. Note that you will walk about half a kilometer to get to your room, which is when better for a mature immersion, but this will be complicated if you have a suitcase to carry. The trails is made of spades out flagstones so you cannot just drag your suitcase on its wheels you will have to carry it. But if you take that into account and are ready for it, you will have a guaranteed amazing time at this gorgeous hotel.

Lugar realmente bello! Los senderos toda una aventura recorrerlos y realmente uno se siente inmerso en la naturaleza creando un excelente nivel de relajación! Lo único que mejoraría de la habitación en si sería la condición en sí de la cama puesto que al moverse uno bailaba el colchón. El restaurante del hotel con el desayuno incluido pues normal nada sobresaliente punto a mejorar!

This was an amazing place !! Was upgraded to their nwest room with huge windows. It was qlabout a 10 minute walk from room to main office/ parking The hiking trails there were amazing. They carried our bags in and out for us witch was great!!! Lots of fun small craft stores. Would love to spend a few extra days and explore this area. Very cool at night, around 55 F.

Lieu magnifique! Les bungalows sont littéralement accrochés dans les nuages! Le personnel est hyper gentil et serviable, les plats servis au restaurant sont succulents et les sentiers sur le terrain du lodge sont très jolis. Par contre, l'humidité constante fait en sorte que rien ne sèche jamais. Beaucoup de taches de moisissure sur les murs, les rideaux, etc.

El hotel tiene un ambiente tranquilo, privado, dentro de una reserva natural increíble. El personal muy atento y cordial. Las habitaciones con un concepto muy interesante, con vistas al bosque hermosas. El mantenimiento de las habitaciones tiene oportunidades de mejora, pero eso no quiere decir que no fueran cómodas. Uno se siente a gusto en todo momento.

We loved the staff and the grounds were beautiful. The restaurant serves a lovely breakfast too. But the rooms weren’t clean and they needed some repairs. Lots of insects and cobwebs in corners. Our room was big and comfortable with breathtaking views but it was right up against the main road so we heard traffic noise all day and night. A little TLC and some repairs to the room would go a long way.

The staff and general beauty of the place/location was excellent. The room was not very clean. The heating unit was inadequate for the space and chilliness of the location. Otherwise we had a lovely stay.

First thing to note is if you have a stand alone cabin you will be walking a long way to your cabin…through the woods, up and down hills on cobblestone. It was cold the night we were there and the heater in the room was insufficient. The breakfast was nice and the people were nice.

We loved our superior forest bungalow overlooking the cloud forest. It was super cozy and very quiet. We were visited by many hummingbirds on our little deck. The restaurant was top notch - very pretty and intimate and the food was amazing. It was a great place for bird watching at breakfast and lunch. The staff were very friendly and helpful.

We loved the staff and the grounds were beautiful. The restaurant serves a lovely breakfast too. But the rooms weren’t clean and they needed some repairs. Lots of insects and cobwebs in corners. Our room was big and comfortable with breathtaking views but it was right up against the main road so we heard traffic noise all day and night. A little TLC and some repairs to the room would go a long way.

The hotel is absolutely unique. We were in cabin 14and was literally living in the jungle with floor to ceiling windows. So peaceful to watch nature with our own viewing deck. Excellent restaurant and staff were great. We went in late march and it was very cool being at higher altitude so maybe take a jacket. Well worth the trip!!!!!

YEs its a long walk to the bungalow but its worth it! The room was amazing with the full windows, the jacuzzi bath and nice bed. The food was fabulous. We saw quetzals on the tour and I took a wonderful horseback ride as well Thank you!

We had a great time discovering this hidden gem. Restaurant service and food quality is exc! The room was very well equipped, the bed is really comfy and the coolest thing about it is you gotta take a trial through the forest to get to your bungalow. You will get to see lots of birds and its pretty calm to have a great sleep. Im definitely coming back. Hopefully for the coldest time of the year.

Amazing view from every individual lodge. This is an amazing property with a large natural areas with hiking trails. The trail levels would be moderate and difficulty, but it is really nice to be with trees and natures. Excellent services, staff are warm, friendly and helpful. Excellent dinner menu with very reasonable prices. Humming bird feeder brought nice visitors. The bird and nature guide (Carlos) booked through the lodge was excellent. We saw quetzal birds twice!!!

We enjoyed the restaurant and especially the views from the rooms (we had 3, and all were incredible). There were gorgeous, steep, well maintained trails behind the property to the river below. Also a fabulous variety of birds. Everything else was hit and miss, including the Wi-Fi connection (or not). We had a meal that was among the best, and another that was among the worst during our 10-day stay in Costa Rica. Staff was not exactly friendly, not exactly hostile. The amenities we had were extraordinary considering how remote this property is, but the experience was overall uneven.
There were gorgeous, steep, well maintained trails behind the property to the river below. Also a fabulous variety of birds. Everything else was hit and miss, including the Wi-Fi connection (or not). A special experience but not for everyone. The cloud forest reserve involves hiking up and down steep slopes and the trail from reception/restaurant to most of the rooms is 200m with a lot of steps. Some glimpses of wildlife but not a huge amount. Restaurant excellent and good value, especially the local fish. Room heating by air conditioner a bit erratic.

2nd time in this place. It was way better! We were lucky to book on a lonely weekend so we were upgraded for free! We enjoyed a superb bungalow with so many cool gadgets and surroundings. This time we had the chance to walk through the trails and had a great time getting to know the property. Totally recommended!

This hotel and its rooms are absolutely gorgeous. Located on a vast property with trails to enjoy this piece of paradise in the mountains. The restaurant has delicious food. Only bummer is that breakfast is only for 2 hours from 7 to 9, which is a time when you will be our bird watching if you came to the area to do bird watching (which is what most people do here). So even so our breakfast was included we could not have it. Note that you will walk about half a kilometer to get to your room, which is when better for a mature immersion, but this will be complicated if you have a suitcase to carry. The trails is made of spades out flagstones so you cannot just drag your suitcase on its wheels you will have to carry it. But if you take that into account and are ready for it, you will have a guaranteed amazing time at this gorgeous hotel.

We had an amazing stay at Dantica. We weren't sure what to expect, but the property is amazing. So much wildlife, so many beautiful trails to explore. The room, more like a palace, had an amazing view and was so unique and comfortable. The staff were always smiling, and the food was fabulous. We would definitely come back. The only word of caution to others...this is a good solid 8,000 feet of elevation, so don't plan to do much your first day if you suffer from altitude issues. It took us a day to adjust, but after that, we were off and running.

What a wonderful eexoerience we had at Dantica Cloud Forest Lodge! It net all my exoectations. We came to the mountsins to see the Respendant Quetzal bird and our guide Carlos was the best. We saw a male and a female. The dining at Dantuca is exceptional. The dishes were original and very tasty. Service was terrific too. I would recommend it to anyone.

A beautiful property with tons of dog-friendly walking trails. You feel very secluded in your cabina. It's a little bit of a walk from the parking lot to the cabins, so pack light. The bathroom didnt have some amenities like washcloths and conditioner, but otherwise the room was well equipped.
