Beautiful, well thought out rooms. Very clean and comfortable rooms. Loved the coffee/tea bar located on the third floor. The breakfast was fabulous- Huge selection of choices and very tasty. Enjoyed the outdoors restaurant- food very good and the outdoors areas were stunning. Wish food service in the outside garden went into the evening as it suited all age groups.

Tout est parfait, sauf pour l’apéro à 17h00 où seule la partie de la terrasse à l’ombre est ouverte, la partie ensoleillée 5 mètres plus loin, donc « trop loin » restant fermée, du coup seul quelques clients « bénéficient » d’un apéro à l’ombre et avec leur doudoune… dommage !

Sobald wir diesen wunderbaren Ort erreicht hatten, fühlten wir uns wie in einer Zeitkapsel. Es war wirklich eir "früher"... so im XIX oder im frühen XX Jahrhundert... bevor die Lichter in Europa definitiv ausgingen. Bei der gediegenen Salon Musik einer Ungarischen- pardon... Slovakischen Damenkapelle, sass ich nach einem guten Abendessen einen Coktail schlürfend an der Bar, wo ich dann mit Sir Arthur Conan Doyle ins Gespräch kam... es ging dabei um Leben oder Sterben lassen Seiner Romanfigur, eines gewissen Sherlock Holmes... Auf jeden Fall, werde ich der Weltenbummler, so oft als möglich den die DS "Lötschberg" besteigen, um damit so oft und so lang als möglich in meine geliebte Zeitkapsel oberhalb der Giessbachfälle zu gelangen.

you will be actually sleeping in a historical castle, it's cool but also brings problem. everything built so old, which makes it creepy at night. and all the facilities are out-dated. the restroom leeks water while you showering. and the bed made my back hurts. I never met a hotel which kept your car key during your stay, and request your credit card details to access the wifi (they don't provide option to access through your room# etc.）. I just can't feel the warmth staying here. I think the root cause is they didn't put much effort on the service and facility details.

We've just returned from a 2 night stay at the Grandhotel Giessbach and wow, what a place! The hotel is certainly grand and is located in the most beautiful location I've ever seen, overlooking Lake Brienz with the Giessbach falls only metres away! The staff were all very pleasant, the breakfast was great, the bar was lovely, the Les Cascades restaurant was lovely, the surrounding park and trails were truly beautiful! However, my only complaint is that we had to pay 15CHF per night for parking. I think for the price you pay to stay at the hotel, parking should be included for that price

The buffet breakfast was amazing and included in the room rate. We had beautiful weather and took the ferry ride to Interlaken which we highly recommend doing. The walk to the falls is a must. Altogether a wonderful experience in this historic luxury hotel.

The hotel was very grand. It was super clean and very comfortable. It was like stepping back in time. So elegant and beautiful. The property is amazing with views of the waterfalls. I would definitely recommend staying here. Be sure to book early to get a room and a great rate. I had a double room with the half board inclusive. You will not pay more for food but you will pay for drinks.

Historic Hotel with a Waterfall on the grounds for my solo Birthday trip. Beautiful grounds but definitely not a flawless stay as I had hoped it would be for the price. Highlights were the very clean & cosy room, & endless views of the glacier Brienzersee Lake!

Domaine isolé en pleine nature, hors du temps. Tout est remarquable, à part le choix trop réduit de la carte du restaurant Les Cascades (dont les plats sont par ailleurs d’excellente qualité). À savoir également : les chambres donnant sur la cascade sont bruyantes en saison quand le débit de celle-ci est à son maximum (mai à août). Mais ceci n’entache pas l’ensemble, qui est remarquable.

The property has great views of the lake and is convenient to get to if you have a car. If not you have to take the boat to get to the hotel. The only problem we had during our stay was the limited options of food available as there are no restaurants nearby besides the hotel restaurant.

The Grandhotel Gießbach is an amazing place. It is right in a nature park with gorgeous views of waterfall and lake Brienz. The historic funicular is a short walk away. It will take you right to the boating dock on lake Brienz. The hotel is so classic and grand. Excellent breakfast with musicians playing violin and piano in the background. Totally blow me away

A magical place. Difficult to reach by car from Zurich . Transportation from Ferry and train to Intervale would be easier. Sleeping with the sound of waterfalls is unforgettable!

Excellent service and breathtaking view. Eating at Parkrestaurant Les Cascades is a must. Their course menu changes every day. Nicolas was a great server. All staff are great and accommodating. If you want to experience historical site- this is a place to be. Looking forward to return.
